The development of digital media has transformed YouTube into one of the most influential platforms for Islamic preaching, shaping public understanding of religious issues, including religious tolerance. This study aims to analyze the representation of religious tolerance, the patterns of tolerance message delivery, and the tendency of interpreting religious tolerance in Felix Siauw’s YouTube content. The research employs a qualitative approach using content analysis of videos discussing interfaith relations and social diversity. The findings reveal that religious tolerance in Felix Siauw’s content is represented as respect for the rights of followers of other religions in social life without compromising the boundaries of Islamic creed (aqidah). Messages of tolerance are conveyed through persuasive narratives supported by Qur’anic verses, Hadith, and scholars’ perspectives, emphasizing the importance of maintaining Islamic identity within a pluralistic society. The study also indicates that the interpretation of tolerance promoted in the content tends to emphasize social tolerance rather than theological tolerance, namely respecting diversity and fostering peaceful coexistence without equating religious beliefs. Therefore, digital Islamic preaching functions not only as a medium for disseminating religious teachings but also as a platform for shaping public understanding of religious tolerance.

The presence of Generation Z, who grew up entirely in the digital era, has triggered a fundamental transformation in Muslim religious practices, where social media has replaced conventional religious institutions as the primary source of religious information. This condition creates a paradox: Gen Z has become a generation that is highly religious online, yet is often disconnected from physical communities and traditional religious authorities. This study aims to analyze the character of Muslim Gen Z religiosity, identify its forming factors, and examine the impact of the digital era on their religiosity. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach using a library research method. The findings indicate that Muslim Gen Z religiosity is characterized by personalization, flexibility, and digital spirituality, strongly influenced by social media. These characteristics are shaped by massive digital technology accessibility, the effectiveness of contextual Islamic preaching on platforms such as TikTok, as well as spiritual needs and social pressure from the digital environment. The digital era brings positive impacts in the form of increased accessibility and religious literacy, but also negative impacts including shallow religious understanding, vulnerability to information bias, and potential exposure to extreme ideologies. This study implies the importance of an integrated digital religious literacy strategy through critical thinking-based Islamic Religious Education curriculum reform, enhancement of educators' digital capacity, and cross-sector collaboration to strengthen Gen Z's moderate and reflective religious understanding.

The development of digital media has created new spaces for Islamic preaching practices, particularly through social media platforms such as TikTok and YouTube. Amid the proliferation of religious content that may trigger social polarization, preaching based on Ahlussunnah wal Jama’ah (Aswaja) values plays a crucial role in strengthening religious moderation. This study aims to analyze the internalization of Aswaja values tawassuth (moderation), tasamuh (tolerance), and tawazun (balance) in digital da’wah content on TikTok and YouTube from the perspective of Islam Nusantara. This research employs a qualitative approach using content analysis of selected da’wah videos chosen through purposive sampling. The findings indicate that Aswaja values are internalized contextually and adaptively according to the characteristics of each platform. TikTok functions as an effective medium for delivering concise and persuasive messages, particularly related to tolerance and religious moderation, while YouTube serves as a space for deeper, more argumentative, and reflective Islamic discourse. These findings affirm that Aswaja based digital da’wah within the framework of Islam Nusantara plays a strategic role in promoting religious moderation and maintaining social harmony in a plural digital society.

This study examines the role of social media, particularly Twitter, as a digital da’wah medium that is fast, interactive, and easily accessible to users. However, the extent to which the use of Twitter can enhance communication confidence among students still requires empirical validation. The focus of this research is to evaluate the effectiveness of Twitter use in influencing students’ communication abilities, especially in delivering da’wah messages. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of Twitter usage on the communication confidence of students from the 2020 cohort. A quantitative approach was employed using a survey method. Data were collected through a structured, scale-based questionnaire, in accordance with the positivistic research paradigm that emphasizes objective and measurable hypothesis testing. The research population consisted of 62 students, from which 38 respondents were selected using proportionate stratified random sampling to ensure representation across all population strata. The findings reveal that the use of Twitter has a significant effect on the communication confidence of KPI IAI Al-Azis students from the 2020 cohort in delivering da’wah messages. Regression analysis results show a significance value of 0.050 < 0.05, with a Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.614, indicating a strong relationship. The development of digital da'wah demands a more in-depth, comprehensive, and data-driven methodological approach. However, contemporary da'wah research is still dominated by descriptive analysis that stops at mapping surface phenomena without exploring the underlying causal factors that determine the long-term effectiveness of da'wah. This weakness is increasingly apparent in the use of SWOT analysis, which has been widely applied in da'wah studies, but tends to be limited to producing categorization tables without an operational epistemic basis. Meanwhile, the era of digital da'wah presents a new, complex reality, where da'wah success is influenced not only by surface interactions such as the number of viewers, impressions, or follower growth, but also by latent factors such as audience cognitive motivation, platform algorithms, digital cultural context, identity construction, and societal value systems. This study aims to formulate a new methodological model through the integration of SWOT and the Iceberg approach to address this methodological stagnation. The research was conducted using qualitative methods based on literature analysis, comparative studies of strategic analysis models, and the construction of a conceptual model. The results show that the SWOT-Iceberg integration is able to produce a more multidimensional framework for digital da'wah analysis: SWOT diagnoses surface symptoms, while Iceberg explores patterns, causal structures, and mental models that shape phenomena. This combined model enables the development of more accurate, adaptive, and evidence-based da'wah strategies. It is concluded that the SWOT–Iceberg integration significantly contributes to the development of modern da'wah methodology by encouraging a shift from descriptive research to transformative diagnostic analysis, while simultaneously strengthening the scientific character of da'wah as an academic discipline based on a critical and measurable knowledge system.

This study examines the inconsistency between the messages and behaviors of online preachers from Generation Z within the perspective of Islamic education. In the digital era, social media platforms such as TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram have become primary spaces for modern da’wah that are interactive and appealing to younger audiences. However, this advancement also presents significant challenges, particularly the dissonance between the Islamic values conveyed and the preacher’s actual behavior in the public sphere. This research employs a library research method by analyzing theories of communication, digital media, and Islamic education. The findings indicate that the main factors contributing to this inconsistency include algorithmic pressure from social media, commercialization of da’wah, lack of religious mentorship, and the digital culture of Gen Z that prioritizes popularity. From the standpoint of Islamic education, this phenomenon underscores the importance of integrating digital literacy, online preaching ethics, and character formation into both formal and non-formal educational curricula. Therefore, this study recommends strengthening the role of Islamic educational institutions in guiding young preachers so that digital da’wah remains ethical, educational, and truly reflective of authentic Islamic moral and spiritual values.

This study explores the dissemination of Sufi teachings through the TikTok account @Al.Amiin.id, highlighting how visual aesthetics, symbolism, and narrative techniques play a role in conveying spiritual messages to young audiences in the digital era. Using a qualitative approach with a critical case study strategy, this research analyses how elements such as colour, light, music, and spiritual metaphors are combined with reflective emotional narratives to preserve the depth of Sufi teachings. Drawing on Stig Hjarvard’s perspective on the mediatization of Religion, the study examines how social media not only functions as a channel for message dissemination but also reshapes religious practices and experiences. The findings reveal that @Al.Amiin.id successfully utilises the logic of digital media—such as short duration, visual aesthetics, algorithms, and trends—as instruments to present Sufism in the form of personal and easily comprehensible micro-narratives. This strategy demonstrates that Sufi preaching undergoes a process of mediatization, in which spiritual values are not merely transmitted but also reconstructed to align with the consumption patterns and cultural sensibilities of digital generations. The study further emphasises that despite the risks of commodification and simplification, Sufi preaching on social media can still preserve its spiritual depth through adaptive approaches. This research contributes to the study of how religious practices are transformed by digital media, offering a model of Sufi preaching that is communicative, inclusive, and relevant in the era of algorithms.

In today's digital era, technological development is occurring rapidly and having a significant impact on various aspects of human life, including Islamic da'wah. The transformation of the spread of Islamic teachings in the digital age has become inevitable along with the rapid advancement of information technology, particularly with the advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI). This study aims to explore how AI is utilized in spreading Islamic values and analyze the accompanying ethical and theological challenges. This research uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method, which includes a review of scientific journals, articles, and contemporary Islamic documents. The results show that AI has been applied in various forms of digital da'wah. For example, Islamic chatbots that can automatically answer religious questions, prayer and other worship reminder applications, and Quran learning platforms equipped with voice recognition and tajweed recitation technology. Although innovative and promising, the use of AI in da'wah poses challenges, particularly the threat to authority over scientific knowledge, the validity of religious content, and the risk of dehumanization in the process of conveying Islamic teachings. Therefore, an adaptive yet ethical approach to Islamic preaching is needed, involving collaboration between religious scholars, academics, and technology experts. This approach must take into account the values of Islamic law, morality in digital communication, and sensitivity to the cultural context of Muslims. Thus, AI-based Islamic preaching can be an innovative solution for effectively reaching a wider audience, without sacrificing the essence and spirituality taught by Islam itself. Thus, AI-based Islamic preaching can be an innovative solution for effectively reaching a wider audience, without sacrificing the essence and spirituality taught by Islam itself. In today's era of rapid globalization and modernization, each generation in Indonesia has distinct characteristics, particularly in their ways of thinking, interacting, and facing life's challenges. Generation Y (millennials) and Generation Z, who are now entering the world of education, have very different mindsets and adaptation methods compared to previous generations. One of the major challenges faced by educators is how to address these differences, particularly in teaching Islamic religious values and shaping students' religious character amidst the rapid development of technology and social dynamics. The transition from Generation Y to Generation Z brings significant changes in the world of education, particularly for Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers. Generation Z, more familiar with digital technology and the internet, often has a more interactive and visual learning style. They tend to prioritize fast and easily accessible information, and are more open to global cultural influences. This phenomenon presents new challenges for PAI teachers in delivering Islamic religious learning materials that are contextual, relevant, and easily understood by students. The transformation of PAI teachers in shaping students' religious character in this transitional era requires a deep understanding of existing social, technological, and cultural changes. Islamic Religious Education teachers are not only required to possess in-depth knowledge of religious teachings but also to be able to adapt teaching methods to suit the needs of today's students. For example, the use of digital technology in Islamic religious education can facilitate students' access to various relevant information sources, such as Islamic preaching videos, Islamic learning apps, or e-books that can enhance their understanding.

The phenomenon of religious hijrah (spiritual migration) among Generation Z (Gen Z) has emerged as a noteworthy social trend in recent years. This study aims to explore the religious tendencies of Gen Z through a phenomenological approach, focusing on two prominent currents of Islamic preaching: Sufism and Salafism. Employing a qualitative method, in-depth interviews were conducted with selected Gen Z individuals actively engaged in Sufi- and Salafi-oriented preaching communities. The findings reveal that their choice of religious orientation is not solely influenced by theological aspects, but also shaped by social, psychological, and personal spiritual factors. Sufism tends to appeal to those seeking inner peace and spiritual experience, while Salafism attracts individuals who yearn for religious certainty and a firm Islamic identity. These results reflect the complex and diverse nature of Gen Z’s religiosity, emphasizing the need for contextual and humanistic preaching strategies. This study hopes to contribute to a deeper understanding of young Muslims' religious patterns and the development of more relevant da'wah approaches in the digital age.
