Indonesian continues to evolve along with social, cultural, and technological dynamics, producing new vocabulary that requires systematic documentation. This research aims to identify the role of intern students at the Balai Bahasa Sumatra Utara in proposing entries for the 6th edition of the online Great Dictionary of the Indonesian Language (KBBI). Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The research results show that interns made significant contributions to the lemma proposal process, which included data collection, linguistic analysis, and recommendation drafting. A total of 200 entries from the fields of physics, law, chemistry, and psychology were successfully proposed. The main findings include (1) a collaborative process between students, experts, and KBBI editors that supports the validity of lemmas; (2) contributions to the documentation of new scientific terms; and (3) challenges, such as limited reference sources and understanding of usage contexts. This research shows that the internship program not only contributes to the development of the Indonesian language but also provides practical learning experiences for students. Recommendations are provided for strengthening the internship system and optimizing the role of students in the management of the national language.

This study aims to analyze the use of the Al-Ma’any Online Dictionary in supporting the development of Arabic vocabulary mastery among students in PBA 2 class at UIN Sumatera Utara. The primary issue observed among students is the lack of optimal utilization of the online dictionary due to certain challenges in its usage. The focus of this research is to explore how students utilize the online dictionary to enrich their vocabulary and its impact on their Arabic language proficiency. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data were collected through interviews with students, observations of dictionary usage, and analysis of student assignments. The findings indicate that the Al-Ma’any Online Dictionary is effective in helping students expand their vocabulary, particularly in discovering word meanings and their usage in various contexts. However, some challenges were identified, such as limited understanding of subtle word meanings and dependency on internet connectivity. This study suggests that vocabulary development through the use of online dictionaries can be optimized by providing guidance and further training for students in utilizing the dictionary's features more comprehensively.

The emergence of social media has changed people's communication patterns from formal to more informal and interactive. However, these changes also pose challenges to the stability and uniformity of Indonesian as a national language. Massive shifts in the meaning of words on social media are often not in line with the standard rules of the Big Indonesian Dictionary (KBBI). The aim of this research is to analyze the influence of social media on shifts in the meaning of words in Indonesian. This research method uses a descriptive qualitative analysis approach. Based on the results analysis, five types of changes in meaning found in the use of comments and caption features by Indonesian netizens on Instagram. The large amount of data on changes in meaning found in comments and captions on Instagram is expected to provide insight to the wider community so they can choose and sort out good and correct words for them. used in everyday life.

Abuse is a crime against the body (physical). The word abuse as stated in the Big Indonesian Dictionary (KBBI) is arbitrary treatment (torture, oppression, and so on). The purpose of this study is to find out how criminal responsibility is imposed on perpetrators of abuse that causes minor injuries as regulated in Indonesian criminal law regulations The type of research used in this study is empirical legal research, namely legal research conducted by directly examining or secondary data consisting of primary legal materials, secondary legal materials, and tertiary legal materials. The data obtained from this study were analyzed using qualitative analysis, namely describing the existing realities based on the results of the study by systematically describing them to obtain clarity and facilitate discussion. Based on the results of the study, criminal responsibility for perpetrators of minor abuse that causes minor injuries in Indonesian criminal law is a combination of the application of basic principles of criminal law such as the principles of legality, proportionality, and intent, as well as flexibility in determining appropriate sanctions based on mitigating or aggravating factors. Ordinary assault is regulated in Article 351 of the Criminal Code, while minor assault is regulated in Article 352 of the Criminal Code. Premeditated and serious assault have stricter provisions, with heavier sanctions for the perpetrators. Based on the results of the research that has been conducted, it can be concluded that: Criminal liability for perpetrators of assault that causes minor injuries is regulated in the Criminal Code (KUHP), especially Article 352 of the Criminal Code. The use of effective sentences has a strong influence on the quality of the content of a work. In cerpen writing, it is necessary to use effective language so that both the written and the implied meanings of cerpen can be well conveyed. The study aims to describe the forms of error in the use of sentences effectively in the formation of content quality on cerpen, as well as to present a comprehensive analysis of the linguistic aspects in the cerpen anthology "Back the Window of Ibnu Abbas" as a source of reading for students of 8th grade high school. The study uses qualitative descriptive methods through a language analysis approach by evaluating the quality of the content and effectiveness of the sentences in the book. This research data is a sentence quotation in a cerpen in which there are written errors in the use of effective sentences. Data collection techniques are done with reading and recording techniques. The results of this study found: (1) repetition of verbs, (2) inappropriate dictionary selection, (3) passing sentences, and (4) ambiguous sentences in a cerpen. Such errors make sentences less effective and affect the quality of the cerpen content. The findings of this study provide an in-depth understanding of how the structure of sentences, the meaning of words, the context of language usage, and the form of words influence the understanding and experience of readers of a literary work.

This research aims to determine the development process, level of validity and level of practicality of small Arabic dictionary media which can be used to support the Arabic language learning process, especially in vocabulary learning. The development of this small Arabic dictionary media is adapted to the learning curriculum and teaching materials for class VIII Junior High Schools. This type of research is research and development (R&D) by adapting the 4D development model which consists of four stages, namely definition, design, development and dissemination. The subjects used in this research were 18 class VIII students at Datok Sulaiman Junior High School. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, validation sheets, practicality test sheets and student response questionnaires. The result of this development research is a small Arabic dictionary for class VIII students. The product validation test results show that: 1) the material expert validation assessment obtained a score of 96.36%; 2) media expert validation assessment obtained a score of 86.66%; 3) and the practicality test carried out by learning experts obtained a score of 80%. Based on the results of product trials by three experts, it shows that the small Arabic dictionary learning media is very valid and practical to be applied in Arabic language learning.

The lexical analysis looks at dictionary definitions of important words in the poem and their deeper meanings within the poem’s context. The contextual interpretation places the poem within the larger historical and cultural background of Angelou's life and the civil rights era. The findings show that Angelou’s use of language not only strengthens the poem’s themes of defiance and self-worth but also deeply connects with the socio-political climate of its time. The study aims to provide a deeper understanding of the lexical and contextual meanings of some of the lines in Angelou's literary work "Still I Rise" as well as in discussions of race, identity and empowerment.

Rohingya in Indonesia has become trending conversation on social media. Sentiment analysis can get public responds. Big data makes the problem time efficiency labeling process, therefore the lexicon dictionary is needed for the labeling process. Data is growing and circulating very rapidly so it takes a fast and efficient time. Although it is fast and makes it easier to solve problems, it is still necessary to question the accuracy produced when using the lexicon labeling. A comparison of the labeling process between the InSet lexicon and the VADER lexicon was conducted to determine the accuracy of the labeling. It was done by combining lexicon with machine learning method of support vector machine and TF-IDF weighting and accuracy result calculated using confusion marix. Data from social media X as many as 9117 lines and labeled with InSet lexicon result 5241 negative sentiments, 1369 positive, and 521 neutral. Then the labeling results with VADER produced 2749 positive, 2523 negative, and 1881 neutral. After labeled, processed SVM and calculated accuracy with results of InSet lexicon accuracy having an average of 85.8% while the VADER SVM lexicon has an average of 82.65%.

Spelling errors in news text can hinder understanding and reduce the credibility of the information. The analysis stage in this research includes identifying spelling error patterns, selecting effective analysis methods, and developing a spelling error detection algorithm. Through this approach, this research aims to improve the quality of news texts by reducing the number of spelling errors that may occur. The research method involves analyzing news texts that have been identified as potential sources of spelling errors. It is hoped that the research results will provide valuable insights into the development of automatic systems to detect and correct spelling errors in news texts, thereby increasing the accuracy and credibility of information conveyed through this media

The method applied is a descriptive qualitative approach, namely a method that only describes the condition of the variable object under study without making comparisons and is independent. The research method used is library research. The aim of this literature research is to actually shape the attitudes, mentality and character of students who in their daily and campus life reflect an attitude of life that is in accordance with anti-corruption values, so as to be able to create the nation's next generation that is free from the culture of corruption that is destroying the nation's economic life. and country
