Elderly people have a high risk of suffering from degenerative diseases, one of which is metabolic disorders. This is more widely recognized by the elderly when they are already in severe condition and with complications so that it has an impact on various aspects including increasing morbidity and mortality rates, as well as decreasing quality of life of the elderly and decreasing ability of the elderly to carry out daily activities. Metabolic disorders are caused by increased blood glucose levels in the body known as Diabetes Mellitus (DM) which is one of the health problems of the ten diseases that cause death and disability globally. The implementation of community service activities for Preventive Efforts for the Elderly in Diabetes Mellitus through several stages, namely the survey and field observation stages and counseling for Preventive Efforts for the Elderly in Diabetes Mellitus counseling is carried out for approximately 90 minutes, as well as evaluations in the form of pre-tests and post-tests. The provision of education was carried out on Wednesday, November 14, 2024 at the Antara Health Center, the number of participants was 32 people. Based on the results of the knowledge of the elderly before and after the counseling for Preventive Efforts for the Elderly in Diabetes Mellitus, it was found that 15 elderly people had sufficient knowledge and 17 elderly people had insufficient knowledge. After conducting counseling on Preventive Efforts for the Elderly in Diabetes Mellitus, the results obtained were a sufficient increase of 30 and less than 2 elderly. This means that community service on Preventive Efforts for the Elderly in Diabetes Mellitus is very effective in the elderly in order to prevent an increase in glucose levels. Counseling on preventive efforts for the elderly in diabetes regarding these degenerative diseases is very necessary so that the elderly maintain their health better. The elderly are expected to be able to understand about efforts to prevent and treat degenerative diseases in the elderly with diabetes. Hopefully this community service can be a reference for researchers and further community service, as well as the community.

Hypertension and diabetes mellitus, which many elderly suffer from, are a significant problem in Indonesia because they pose a risk of serious complications and even death. At the Olak Kemang Community Health Center, the incidence of hypertension and diabetes mellitus in the elderly has increased. However, the scope of elderly people's active participation in various hypertension and diabetes mellitus management programs is still low. Based on the results of the team's research and initial observations, it is known that the main cause of this problem is a lack of family support and limited knowledge about the efforts that families must make in managing illnesses in the elderly. This situation indicates weak family functioning which has an impact on health. This community service activity aims to strengthen family functions and self-care behavior for elderly people with hypertension and diabetes mellitus in the work area of the Olak Kemang Community Health Center through the implementation of Posdaya (Family Empowerment Post). Posdaya activities include counseling about family functions, developing family skills to manage hypertension and diabetes mellitus in the elderly, as well as assisting families to be able to access various application-based health services for the elderly and families. The activity was attended by 20 elderly people and their families. The results of the activity showed that 80% of participants experienced increased knowledge. In addition, participants provided statements of attitude to improve family function and implement self-care behavior for elderly people with hypertension and diabetes mellitus.

Abstract, Fasting in Islam is not only an act of worship that brings one closer to Allah, but also offers physical and mental health benefits. In addition to increasing piety, fasting helps discipline oneself and supports the body's detoxification process. The biological processes that occur during fasting, such as rest for the digestive system and the use of energy reserves, demonstrate Allah's wisdom. Fasting also prevents diseases caused by overeating, such as hypertension, diabetes, and heart problems. Medical research reveals that moderate eating patterns and regular fasting improve overall health. Fasting, such as during Ramadan, also boosts metabolism, organ health, and psychological well-being by regulating emotions and behavior. Various types of fasting, both obligatory and voluntary, have different health impacts, and studies support the benefits of fasting in reducing inflammation, regulating blood glucose levels, and enhancing overall quality of life.

Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) is a life-threatening condition characterized by severe inflammation and damage to the alveoli, leading to impaired oxygen exchange in the lungs. Older adults are particularly vulnerable to ARDS due to age-related physiological changes and the presence of comorbidities. This literature review aims to explore the risk factors, pathophysiology, and management strategies of ARDS in the elderly population. The review identifies key factors such as immunosenescence, decreased lung elasticity, and the presence of chronic conditions like hypertension, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease as contributing to the increased susceptibility to ARDS in older adults. Infections, especially pneumonia and sepsis, are found to be significant triggers for the onset of ARDS. Additionally, environmental factors, such as long-term exposure to air pollution and smoking, further elevate the risk. Prevention through vaccination and the management of comorbidities are highlighted as essential strategies for reducing the incidence of ARDS. The review also emphasizes the importance of lung-protective ventilation strategies in the treatment of ARDS in older adults. Overall, this paper underscores the need for comprehensive healthcare approaches, including early detection, vaccination, and integrated care for managing comorbid conditions to mitigate the impact of ARDS in the elderly. Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is characterized by hyperglycemia, which can lead to microangiopathic and macroangiopathic complications. One of the chronic complications is diabetic foot ulcer (DFU), which carries a high risk of infection and amputation. Preventing amputation can be achieved by accelerating wound healing. Dalethyne, a herbal product extracted through ozonization, contains essential oils, fatty acids, iodine, and peroxides. In wound care, Dalethyne acts as an antimicrobial agent that eliminates bacteria and promotes the formation of new tissue. This study aimed to examine the effect of modern Dalethyne dressings on wound healing among patients with diabetic foot ulcers. A quasi-experimental study with a non-equivalent control group pretest–posttest design was conducted at a wound care clinic in Semarang. Thirty participants with grade 2–3 diabetic foot ulcers were divided into an intervention group (Dalethyne dressing) and a control group (standard care). Wound healing was assessed using the DMIST scale before and after one week of treatment. Both groups showed improvement in DMIST scores post-treatment. However, the intervention group demonstrated significantly greater improvement (mean DMIST reduction of 48.50) compared to the control group (mean reduction of 16.50) (p = 0.001). Photographic evidence indicated more advanced granulation and epithelialization in the Dalethyne group. Modern wound care using Dalethyne effectively enhances wound healing in diabetic foot ulcers.
