The wedding walimah is a religious tradition that has strong roots in Islamic teachings and continues to thrive in social practices. In the West Cengkareng area, the walimah tradition is not only understood as an expression of gratitude for the marriage contract, but also as a means of strengthening social solidarity and maintaining relationships. This study aims to analyze the wedding walimah tradition of the Cengkareng Barat community from the perspective of living hadith, which is to see how the Prophet's hadith is understood and manifested in the context of local culture. This study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that the practice of walimah is based on the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad, which encourages the holding of walimah, even if it is simple. In practice, walimah has undergone local cultural acculturation, both in terms of the form of the banquet and the series of events. This study concludes that the tradition of wedding walimah in West Cengkareng is a form of hadith that is alive and dynamic in the community.

The tradition of Ketupat Qunutan on the 15th night of Ramadan in Kampung Pinang, Tangerang City, is a religious practice of the Muslim community that integrates congregational qunut prayers, the making and distribution of ketupat as a symbol of gratitude, almsgiving, purity of heart, and brotherhood. Through a living hadith study approach, this research analyzes how the values of the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, such as communal prayer, food charity, and strengthening Islamic brotherhood, are contextualized within the local culture of the archipelago without a literal textual basis, but rather as a harmonious actualization between Islamic teachings and traditional wisdom. The findings show the dynamics of religious understanding between textual and contextual approaches, in which this tradition strengthens social solidarity, mutual cooperation, and the transmission of the Islamic identity of the archipelago, while also functioning as effective cultural da'wah without contradicting sharia law. This study contributes to the study of Islamic anthropology and living sunnah, affirming cultural acculturation as a form of religious expression that is alive and relevant.

This study explores community social activities within the tradition of Wayang Golek performances as a form of living hadith in the city of Bogor. The Wayang Golek tradition reflects the practical implementation of the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad SAW in the daily lives of the Sundanese community. Using a qualitative approach, the study involved participant observation and in-depth interviews with puppeteers and audience members. The findings indicate that Wayang Golek performances function not only as cultural entertainment but also as an indirect medium for strengthening moral values, mutual cooperation, and Islamic preaching. Social activities surrounding the performances include communal interaction, preservation of local culture, and reinforcement of religious identity amid the challenges of modernization. The study further reveals that the concept of living hadith is embodied in wayang narratives that convey ethical messages aligned with the sunnah of the Prophet. These findings highlight the importance of revitalizing local cultural traditions as an effective medium for contemporary Islamic education and value transmission.

Globalization has had a significant impact on various aspects of life, including the realm of religion, particularly in the field of hadith interpretation. For centuries, hadith interpretation was based on historical context, established scientific methods, and the authority of scholars as the primary reference. However, the rapid and geographically boundless connection of Muslims worldwide has brought new and complex challenges. These changes have not only affected the way scholars and historians understand classical texts but have also expanded the space for discussion into the public sphere through digital technology. This research aims to examine in depth how globalization influences the process of hadith interpretation in the contemporary era. The focus of the study includes changes in methodological approaches to interpretation, shifts in understanding of classical texts, and the influence of cross-cultural interactions and the development of digital media on shaping more pluralistic religious perspectives. The rapid flow of information enables the exchange of views across countries, schools of thought, and cultures, creating opportunities for enriching insight, but also potentially giving rise to interpretations that deviate from traditional principles. The results of this research are expected to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the positive and negative impacts of globalization on hadith interpretation. On the positive side, globalization can facilitate access to literature, encourage interfaith dialogue, and revitalize the Islamic intellectual tradition on a global scale. However, on the negative side, globalization also risks the desires of scholarly authorities, giving rise to instant interpretations without a strong methodology, and increasing the potential for conflicting understandings. These findings are expected to be relevant for understanding contemporary social, cultural, and political dynamics, as well as contributing to efforts to construct contextual interpretations of hadith while remaining anchored in solid scientific principles.

The development of modern Muslim fashion has significantly transformed the way Muslims express their identity, especially in Indonesia, the country with the largest Muslim population. However, the growing popularity of “modest wear” fashion does not always align with Islamic principles as taught in the Hadiths. This study aims to explore the Islamic dress code based on thematic Hadith analysis (maudhū’ī), identify core dressing principles in Islam, and evaluate their implementation within the modern Muslim fashion culture. This research applies a qualitative method through library research, employing the thematic approach to collect and analyze Prophetic traditions related to clothing. The findings reveal that Islamic principles of dress include covering the ‘awrah (private parts), avoiding excessive adornment (tabarruj), refraining from imitating the opposite gender or non-Muslim cultures, and upholding modesty and dignity. These hadiths offer ethical guidance that is not only normative but also practical in the modern socio-cultural context. The study concludes that modern Muslim fashion can serve as an effective medium for visual da'wah if it remains aligned with Hadith-based values. The synergy between religious principles and creative design can form a relevant and dignified Islamic lifestyle rooted in the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad saw.

This research examines the implementation of the Islamic legal maxim "Al-'Ādatu Muḥakkamah" (custom can be established as law) in the context of Indonesian traditional marriages. Using a normative-empirical approach, the article analyzes the foundations of this maxim from the Qur'an and Hadith, as well as its application to the traditional marriage practices of the Dayak Ngaju and Banjar communities. The findings indicate that the Palaku tradition among the Dayak Ngaju community and the Jujuran tradition among the Banjar community demonstrate compatibility with Islamic legal principles through the application of the Al-'Ādatu Muḥakkamah maxim, although certain aspects require adjustment. This article also elaborates on efforts to harmonize Islamic law and customary law within Indonesia's national legal system. The research concludes that the Al-'Ādatu Muḥakkamah maxim provides a theoretical foundation that enables the accommodation of local cultural values within the framework of Islamic law, thus creating a legal system relevant to the socio-cultural context of Indonesian society.

This research explains the practice of fasting in the context of Islamic law, identifying the views of Islamic scholars and literature regarding fasting. The aim of this research is to provide comprehensive insight into the practice of fasting and its relevance in Islamic teachings. The research method used is a qualitative approach by analyzing related texts and literature, such as the Al-Qur'an, Hadith, views of ulama, and previous research. The research results show that mutih fasting is a tradition that is still maintained by some Javanese people, especially before weddings. Even though it has no direct basis in Islamic law, mutih fasting is carried out with the aim of gaining inner peace and physical and spiritual readiness before marriage. The procedure for white fasting involves consuming only white foods and drinks, such as white rice and water, as well as increasing worship such as prayer, dhikr and supplication. However, the analytical views of Islamic scholars and law show that fasting is not recommended in Islamic teachings and is not included in the worship exemplified by the Prophet Muhammad SAW. Although it is permissible if the intention is solely for Allah SWT, mutih fasting is more cultural than religious. The recommendation for Muslims is to carry out this tradition carefully and ensure that their intentions are truly for Allah SWT. In conclusion, fasting mutih before a wedding is a tradition that is more embedded in Javanese culture than Islamic religion. Although it is not prohibited, this practice should be carried out with clear intentions and does not conflict with Islamic teachings. Further research is needed to bring closer understanding between local culture and pure Islamic teachings.
