This study aims to analyze the role of local Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in utilizing lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus) as the main ingredient for mosquito repellent products and its contribution to improving the economy of the community in Timbang Jaya Village. Lemongrass contains essential oils that function as a natural insect repellent, making it a potential raw material for value-added products such as mosquito repellent sprays, aromatherapy candles, and herbal lotions. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through interviews, observations, and literature studies. The findings indicate that local MSMEs play a significant role in the production process, product innovation, and marketing of lemongrass-based products. Besides generating additional income, this development also creates new job opportunities and supports the village’s economic independence. However, several challenges remain, including limited capital, lack of processing technology skills, and competition with chemical-based products. The recommended solutions include capacity building through training and mentoring, better access to funding, and strengthening digital marketing strategies. Therefore, the development of mosquito repellent products from lemongrass by MSMEs not only contributes to the community’s economic growth but also provides an environmentally friendly alternative beneficial for public health.

This study is motivated by the tourism potential of Tamsar 27 in Bengkelang Village, Bandar Pusaka Sub-district, Aceh Tamiang Regency, which offers clear river streams, scenic natural landscapes, and a peaceful rural atmosphere, yet has not been optimally managed to improve the local economy. The purpose of this research is to analyze strategies for community-based tourism management to enhance local welfare. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach, using field observations, interviews, and documentation as data-collection techniques. Data were analyzed through reduction, presentation, and conclusion-drawing stages. The results reveal five main strategies for improving community economy through tourism management at Tamsar 27: (1) improving tourism infrastructure; (2) empowering local communities through training in tourism management and entrepreneurship; (3) diversifying tourism-related businesses such as homestays and local specialty products; (4) optimizing digital promotion; and (5) strengthening partnerships among the village government, village-owned enterprises (BUMDes), and private sectors to ensure sustainable tourism development. This research aims to analyze the Regional Government's strategy in developing the Tanjung Lesung Tourism Area and identify obstacles and efforts to improve the community's economy. As a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and a national priority tourism destination, Tanjung Lesung has great potential in encouraging local growth, but its development still faces challenges. The research uses a descriptive qualitative method through interviews, observations, and documentation studies with informants from the Tourism Office, SEZ managers, MSME actors, and Pokdarwis. The analysis refers to the theory of Suryadana's tourism development strategy, including attractions, accessibility, amenities, and institutions. The results of the study show that the government's strategy focuses on the development of attractions through the involvement of MSMEs and cultural preservation, as well as improving facilities with training and community assistance. This strategy has a positive impact on increasing income and job creation. However, there are obstacles in the form of limited regional authority in SEZ management, lack of optimal accessibility and infrastructure, weak collaboration between stakeholders, low capacity of local human resources, and inconsistent promotion. The government's efforts include increasing human resource capacity, facilitating MSMEs in events, and cross-sector coordination. In conclusion, the Tanjung Lesung tourism development strategy has contributed to economic empowerment, but it is not optimal, so stronger synergy is needed between the government, the private sector, and the community to realize sustainable tourism.

Waste is leftover material that is considered to have no economic value, but its existence cannot be avoided in people's social life. In Karanglangon Hamlet, the increase in population that occurs every year increases the volume of waste produced. As the population increases, household waste production and other activities also increase, thereby exacerbating waste management problems in the region. If not managed properly, the increasing amount of waste can have various negative impacts, both on public health and the surrounding environment, such as air, land and water pollution. This problem demands more attention from various parties to find appropriate and sustainable solutions. This research aims to identify in more depth the problems related to waste management at the Dusun Karanglangon TPS using the PAR (Participatory Action Research) approach method. The research results revealed that the condition of the waste at the TPS had a significant negative impact on the surrounding environment. The main causes are limited facilities, minimal budgets, and inadequate waste management standards, resulting in the accumulation of waste and increasingly severe environmental pollution.
