This study was motivated by the widespread use of Indonesian language that does not conform to standard linguistic rules in Instagram content created by adolescents aged 17–20 years. As a social media platform that emphasizes speed and self-expression, Instagram encourages users to employ slang, nonstandard abbreviations, code-mixing, and various other forms of language deviation. This study aims to analyze the forms of Indonesian language errors found in adolescents’ Instagram content and to identify the factors contributing to these errors. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach using content analysis. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 37 respondents and through an analysis of their language use habits on Instagram. The findings reveal that the most dominant forms of language errors include letter repetition to emphasize emotion (78.3%), nonstandard abbreviations (56.7%), code-mixing between Indonesian and foreign languages (45.9%), and the use of slang (45.9%). The main factors influencing the use of nonstandard language are the desire to appear relaxed and informal (86.5%), the need for fast and practical communication (67.6%), and the influence of peer groups and social media trends. Nevertheless, most respondents are aware that these habits may negatively affect their formal language skills. This study highlights the importance of digital language literacy to help adolescents use Indonesian appropriately according to different communication contexts.

This study aims to examine the utilization of classification codes in the sorting of records and non-records. The sorting of records and non-records is an important stage in information management. However, in practice, it is often not carried out systematically, resulting in the mixing of records and non-records with different values. This condition leads to disorganized records management and difficulties in information retrieval. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method with a library research approach. The data were obtained from scientific journals, books, and relevant regulations related to records management. Data collection was conducted through literature review, while data analysis was carried out descriptively through data grouping and interpretation. The results show that classification codes are used as a basis for distinguishing and grouping records and non-records according to organizational functions and activities, thereby supporting better organization in the sorting process. The implication of this study indicates that the use of classification codes supports more structured and systematic records management.

This study analyzes the sociolinguistic phenomena of code-switching and code-mixing in the academic context of students in Pekalongan, Central Java. As a region with diverse backgrounds dominated by the Pekalongan dialect (Ngapak Javanese), interactions between students create space for complex language dynamics. This study aims to identify variations, roles, and factors that cause code-switching and code-mixing in student interactions. The method applied is descriptive qualitative with data collection through inactive participant observation, recording, and in-depth interviews at various universities in Pekalongan. Data analysis is carried out through the steps of data reduction, data presentation, and verification using triangulation techniques. The results show that the application of language codes is divided into two categories: an internal category that includes Indonesian and regional languages (Javanese), and an external category that includes foreign languages (English or Arabic). Code-mixing can be found at the word, phrase, and clause levels. The main factors that drive this phenomenon include participants, conversation themes, situational circumstances, and the purpose of communication in building solidarity among group members (ingroup).  The Pekalongan dialect plays a crucial role as a means of communication to build closeness and demonstrate local identity, amidst the need to use formal language on campus. This research concludes that code-switching and code-mixing are not merely linguistic phenomena, but also ways in which students adapt socially to balance their cultural identity with academic demands.

This study examines the phenomenon of code-mixing among Generation Z in Banjarmasin, particularly in The comments section of TikTok content, which has become a primary digital expression space for young People. The aim of this study was to identify the forms, patterns, and social and cultural factors underlying This linguistic practice. Using descriptive qualitative methods with listening and note-taking techniques, Information was collected from comments on two TikTok posts on the accounts @BudRab and @Fazarbungaz. This study aims to identify the forms of code-mixing present in the speech videos of Vice President Gibran Rakabuming, with the KOMPASTV YouTube channel serving as the data source. This phenomenon is interesting to examine because the use of code-mixing by state officials can influence public perceptions of the use of Indonesian in formal contexts, particularly in official speeches. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, using the observation and note method as the data collection technique. Data analysis was conducted through several stages, namely observing, noting, and then presenting as well as describing the forms of code-switching in Vice President Gibran Rakabuming’s speech videos. The results show that the type of code-mixing that occurs is outer code-mixing, characterized by the insertion of English vocabulary. The first video contained 9 instances of code-mixing, the second video 5 instances, the third video 4 instances, the fourth video 15 instances, and the fifth video 9 instances. These findings indicate that code-mixing is a phenomenon within the field of sociolinguistics and is commonly found among bilingual and multilingual communities.

This study investigates the occurrence and functions of nonstandard language variation in Instagram headlines posted by @folkative, a popular digital media account known for its creative use of informal language. Despite the growing attention to social media discourse, little research has focused on how nonstandard forms operate in short, attention-grabbing digital headlines. Guided by Labov’s (1972) variationist sociolinguistic framework, this study employs a descriptive qualitative method complemented by simple quantification. The data consist of headlines uploaded by @folkative throughout September 2025. The analysis reveals four main types of nonstandard variation: code-mixing, nonstandard spelling, colloquial expressions, and lexical innovation. Among these, code-mixing appears most frequently (33.93%). The use of nonstandard language is not arbitrary but rather reflects deliberate stylistic and social choices. These variations serve several communicative and pragmatic functions, including attracting readers’ attention, conveying humor, saving space within limited character counts, expressing solidarity with followers, and constructing a modern, cosmopolitan online identity. The findings demonstrate that nonstandard language in Instagram headlines contributes to meaning-making and audience engagement, showing how Indonesian users creatively manipulate linguistic resources to suit digital communication norms.

Language variation in the form of mixed code is a linguistic symptom that is often found in bilingual and multilingual communities, especially in popular media such as movies. This study aims to identify and describe the mixed forms of code that appear in the second season of the Imperfect: The Series series, specifically in episodes 1 to 5. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques in the form of recording and analysis of dialogues between figures that contain mixed elements of code. The research instrument is in the form of dialogue transcripts that are analyzed with a sociolinguistic approach, mainly based on the theory of mixed code according to Suwito (1985) and the theory of relevance of the social context according to Holmes (2013). The results of the study revealed two main categories of forms of code mixing, namely inner code mixing involving elements of regional languages, and outer code mixing which includes the insertion of words or phrases from foreign languages, such as English. Based on data analysis, it was found that there were 12 data mixed in code and 18 data mixed in code out. This phenomenon shows that the use of mixed codes in character dialogue not only serves as a marker of social and cultural identity, but also as a reflection of the dynamics of communication in a pluralistic and modern urban society. In addition, the use of mixed codes in audiovisual media also has pragmatic and aesthetic implications, which can strengthen character characterization, create humorous effects, adjust the context of social situations, and increase narrative appeal to young audiences who are familiar with multilingualism.

The phenomenon of code switching in TikTok is increasingly widespread among young Indonesians. Mixing Indonesian with foreign languages, especially English, is a communication style that is considered expressive, modern and a digital identity. This study aims to identify forms of code switching in TikTok content and analyze its implications for planning and fostering Indonesian in the digital era. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with data in the form of screenshots of TikTok videos containing code switching. The results of the analysis show that the code switching that occurs is mixed and situational and has affective, stylistic functions, as a marker of social identity. Although it reflects language creativity, excessive use of code switching can have negative impacts such as shifting the structure of the Indonesian language, decreasing positive attitudes towards the national language, and hindering effective language development efforts. This study is expected to be an important input for educators, policy makers and the wider community in maintaining the sustainability and dignity of the Indonesian language in the digital era. The waning enthusiasm for preserving the nation's wealth, one of which is regional languages, has become a serious problem that has occurred in recent years. However, only a few Indonesian people are aware of it. Regional languages, especially Serang Javanese, are on the verge of extinction. According to the data obtained, there are three million speakers of Serang Javanese, while the majority of Jaseng (Serang Javanese) speakers are in Cilegon, Serang and a small number in Tangerang, Banten Province. Unfortunately, Banten Javanese language users are starting to be eroded by the progress of the times, people are more in favor of slang communication, South Jakarta language, and the influence of other foreign languages. If the number of speakers decreases from before, it is possible that in the next few years the Jaseng language will experience extinction, which will result in the loss of the local wisdom of the people of Serang district. The good news is that the role of social media, which does not always have a negative impact on society, is actually one of the savior media in preventing the extinction of regional languages. One of them was proven by the owner of an influencer Instagram account from Serang who planned to create content that speaks the Serang Javanese language even though it is part of the code-mixing phenomenon. This research aims to reveal every content with the concept of the code-mixing phenomenon in Mang Aplen's Instagram account in detail, starting from the words, phrases and particles used in the communication. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative method which is carried out by analyzing data obtained from speech on Instagram content. The results obtained from this analysis are that there are several single words, phrases, affixes, word repetitions and particles of the Serang Javanese language, dialects and customary activities of the Serang Banten people in the context of entertainment, which are very popular with the community, which reflects the maintenance of the Serang Javanese language. and the local wisdom of the Serang Regency community, this is believed to be able to build community enthusiasm in maintaining the Jaseng language and the local wisdom of the Serang community so that it remains sustainable and strong.

This research discusses the use of code-mixing in the lyrics of the song “Now I Know” by Kaleb J. Code-mixing, in the form of the insertion of English elements into Indonesian lyrics, often appears in modern music as a response to globalization. A qualitative research approach is used to identify the forms of code-mixing (words, phrases, and clauses), its function, and its impact on the song's message. The results of the analysis show that code-mixing dominates the chorus with English to accentuate emotional intensity, while Indonesian is present in the verses to provide a narrative that is familiar to local listeners. The use of two languages reflects a balance between local and global elements, enhancing the musical aesthetics and international appeal of the song. Intercoding acts as a linguistic and artistic tool that expands the range of listeners, supports the themes of love and regret, and strengthens pop music's connection to globalization trends.
