This study aims to analyze the evolution of Islamic civilization within the cultural landscape of Southeast Asia through a comparative study between Indonesia and Patani, Thailand. The research employs a qualitative approach with a comparative case study design based on literature review, examining the historical, social, cultural, and political developments of both regions. The findings reveal that the development of Islamic civilization in Indonesia occurred through an inclusive and adaptive process of cultural acculturation. Islamic values were integrated with local traditions, creating a moderate and harmonious religious pattern within society. In contrast, the development of Islam in Patani took place under conditions of political marginalization and state pressure, which fostered cultural resistance and strengthened the religious identity of the Malay Muslim community. These differences indicate that socio-political structures play a significant role in shaping the dynamics of Islamic civilization. The study confirms that Islam as a civilization is flexible and adaptable to different cultural environments; however, the form of adaptation is strongly influenced by power relations, social conditions, and local political contexts. This research is expected to enrich the study of Islamic civilization in Southeast Asia through a comparative approach that integrates cultural and political dimensions more comprehensively.

This study was carried out at RS Hj. Fatimah Sulhan in Kabupaten Demak, Jawa Tengah, which functioned as both the research site and the moderating context of the investigation. The research aims to examine how personal compensation, Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB), and organizational commitment influence employee work performance within the hospital environment. A quantitative research design was implemented, involving 150 employees selected as respondents through appropriate sampling procedures. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and subsequently analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the AMOS software to test the hypothesized relationships among variables. The findings reveal that personal compensation, OCB, and organizational commitment each exert a positive and statistically significant impact on employee performance. These results indicate that fair and competitive compensation, strong voluntary work behaviors, and a high level of commitment to organizational goals collectively enhance productivity, service effectiveness, teamwork quality, and overall institutional performance in the healthcare setting.

This article proposes wasathiyah—a balanced Islamic ethic grounded in the maqasid al-shari‘ah—as a practical framework for East–West civilizational dialogue. It critiques “clash of civilizations” narratives for reducing cross-cultural relations to identity antagonism, while historical experience points to more complex patterns of exchange, negotiation, and mutual correction. By using maqasid as a normative compass, dialogue is oriented toward publicly verifiable aims: safeguarding human dignity, advancing justice, protecting reason and knowledge, strengthening social cohesion, and promoting sustainable governance. The discussion draws on Nahdlatul Ulama’s tradition of Aswaja An-Nahdliyah and contemporary discourse on fiqh al-hadlarah (civilizational jurisprudence) to formulate an indicator matrix across key domains—education, law and human rights, economy, media, and emerging technologies (including AI)—along with a 3–5 year implementation roadmap and risk-mitigation strategies. The article concludes by highlighting implications for Islamic education, particularly academic integrity, digital-ethical literacy, and interdisciplinary projects oriented to the public good (maslahah).

Muara Takus Temple is a valuable historical heritage in Riau Province and a testament to the glory of ancient civilization in the Indonesian archipelago. However, the environment around the temple often faces problems such as litter, vegetation damage, and declining public awareness. Clean-up and environmental preservation activities in this area demonstrate the involvement of the younger generation and the community in preserving the historic site. Through a participatory approach, this community service program aims to describe the process, results, and social impact of preservation activities in the Muara Takus Temple area. The results of the community service program demonstrate increased public awareness, the formation of cross-institutional collaboration, and the strengthening of the value of mutual cooperation in preserving cultural heritage and the environment. The results demonstrate that the involvement of the community, students, and site managers has successfully raised collective awareness of the importance of maintaining cleanliness and preserving cultural heritage. Furthermore, this activity strengthened the synergy between historical and environmental preservation through tree planting, waste management, and the provision of educational boards. This activity demonstrates that cultural heritage preservation can be revitalized through active participation and cross-generational collaboration.

Education serves as an institutional mechanism that can accelerate the development of a nation's character. Factors influencing the decline of the Indonesian nation are the result of mental and moral decline, which occurs in both the older and younger generations, including within the government and among the wider community. These factors have resulted in the Indonesian nation experiencing setbacks in various positions in the world. To overcome this problem, the Indonesian nation needs to develop and build a life by instilling positive values to develop good character and be able to compete with other countries in the era of globalization. Character education offers a great opportunity to implement the process of fostering and developing human beings, with education based on noble morals, namely Islamic education that integrates faith, sharia, and morals in a learning system that is based on Islamic morals and influences self-improvement. One of the advantages of Al-Islam for humanity is the creation of a comprehensive and consistent method for developing mentality, producing generations, building society and culture, and upholding the principles of glory and civilization. Science continues to advance over time. This development has led to the birth of various new technologies that mark the progress of the times. Currently, technology has entered the digital era, where almost all areas of life are beginning to utilize these advances to increase work efficiency and effectiveness. In Indonesia, digital transformation has also penetrated various sectors, including education. This change presents a significant opportunity for the world of education to expand access, improve the quality of learning, and encourage innovation in teaching methods. As an entity closely linked to human culture and civilization, education has undergone significant changes in the era of globalization. The use of digital technologies, such as online learning, learning management systems (LMS), and interactive media, has become an integral part of the educational process. This not only facilitates the delivery of material but also opens up more flexible and inclusive learning opportunities for various levels of society. However, behind these opportunities, challenges also arise, such as disparities in technology access, low digital literacy in some communities, and the need to adapt curricula and teaching methods to be relevant to current developments. Therefore, the success of educational transformation in the digital era depends not only on the availability of technology but also on the readiness of human resources, including educators and students, to optimize its use. Therefore, the development of digital science and technology has become a driving force for global educational change. Ibn Khaldun's thoughts in Muqaddimah on economic cycles and taxation remain relevant in the context of modern economics. He explains that the growth and decline of a nation's economy follow a cyclical pattern, where imbalanced fiscal policies can accelerate the downfall of a civilization. Ibn Khaldun emphasizes the importance of fair and proportional taxation to avoid hindering societal productivity and investment. His views on the impact of taxation on the economy align with the Laffer Curve concept, which states that excessively high taxes can actually reduce state revenue. This study employs a literature review method to analyze Ibn Khaldun’s thoughts and their relevance to modern economic systems and fiscal policies. The findings indicate that his ideas can serve as a foundation for formulating sustainable Islamic economic policies. By applying the principles of balance between taxation, production, and societal welfare, a nation can maintain long-term economic stability. Therefore, Ibn Khaldun's thoughts remain relevant as a reference for contemporary economic policies, particularly in addressing economic disparities and preventing financial crises.

This study examines the transformation of the Islamic economy during the golden age of the Abbasid Dynasty, characterized by innovations in financial systems, the implementation of fiscal policies based on wealth redistribution, and shifts in social and cultural structures. The background of this research is rooted in the strategic role of the Abbasid Dynasty in creating an advanced Islamic civilization through the integration of economic progress, social growth, and cultural development. The aim of the study is to analyze in depth the dynamics of economic change, its impact on social structures, and its contribution to the development of science and culture during this period. The method employed is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR), which involves the search, selection, and synthesis of literature from various credible academic sources. The findings indicate that innovative policies, such as the implementation of primitive banking systems, zakat and waqf mechanisms, and infrastructure development, support inclusive economic growth and equitable wealth distribution. The supremacy of knowledge plays a central role in building Islamic civilization, both in classical and modern eras. This study aims to analyze the values of the supremacy of knowledge based on the perspectives of the Qur’an, Hadith, and the thoughts of classical scholars such as Al-Ghazali, Ibn Khaldun, and Al-Farabi. Additionally, this research explores the relevance of knowledge in addressing the challenges of globalization and the dynamics of the digital age. Using a descriptive qualitative research method, primary data consisting of Qur'anic verses, Hadith, and classical scholars' works are combined with secondary data, including books on the history of Islamic civilization, scholarly articles, and contemporary references. The research findings indicate that knowledge is regarded as the main pillar in building a civilization rooted in Islamic values. The Qur’an and Hadith explicitly position knowledge as both an obligation and a path to the glory of individuals and society. The thoughts of classical scholars highlight the importance of integrating religious knowledge and general knowledge to create a balance between worldly and spiritual happiness. In the modern era, the supremacy of knowledge remains relevant as a tool to address the challenges of globalization, particularly through the use of technology and innovation based on Islamic values. This study concludes that the synergy between religious knowledge and modern science can shape a progressive and morally upright Islamic civilization. Knowledge not only serves as a medium for social transformation but also as a spiritual foundation for building a resilient Muslim identity in the contemporary era. The relevance of the values of the supremacy of knowledge provides a strategic guide for Muslims to contribute to global civilization without losing the essence of Islam.

Revolution means a process of change that takes place quickly or a fairly fundamental change in a field or place. If so, then the Industrial Revolution is a process of change that takes place quickly and fundamentally in the industrial sector. In modern civilization there have been four Industrial Revolutions, each of which has its own characteristics. The role of humans is gradually starting to be taken over by automatic machines. In short, disruption is innovation. This is innovation that will replace all old systems with new methods. Disruption has the potential to replace old players with new ones. Disruption replaces old, all-physical technology with digital technology that produces something completely new and more efficient and more useful.

Sand is the main commodity of the Gondoruso community, almost all levels of society feel the impact of the presence of sand mining. From sand, it can form a network ecosystem for local residents' livelihoods. Based on this phenomenon, researchers conducted an analysis using Max Weber's concept of Protestant Ethics and McLeland's need for achievement. Weber stated that the Protestant Ethics was the forerunner to the birth of the spirit of capitalism which brought human civilization to become the creature of capital it is today. This is in line with the thoughts of Mc Cleland who stated that to achieve progress in civilization, you need encouragement to achieve your goals. The need for achievement makes humans move to realize the progress of their civilization. This encouragement encourages people to think more rationally, ultimately encouraging capitalization to maximize existing potential. This research uses qualitative methods with an ethnographic approach. This is in line with analysis that attempts to describe and explain the reality that exists within a society.
