Penelitian ini menganalisis perilaku lentur balok beton bertulang dengan tulangan Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) dibandingkan tulangan baja konvensional, ditinjau dari beban maksimum, lendutan maksimum, dan pola keruntuhan. Pengujian eksperimental dilakukan pada balok beton mutu K-225 berdimensi 150 × 150 × 600 mm menggunakan metode pembebanan dua titik. Benda uji terdiri atas balok kontrol (BKA dan BKB) serta balok variasi (BVA dan BVB). Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa balok bertulangan GFRP memiliki kapasitas beban maksimum yang lebih tinggi, dengan peningkatan dari 28,68 kN menjadi 58,40 kN (103,6%) pada BKA–BVA dan dari 55,71 kN menjadi 68,01 kN (22,1%) pada BKB–BVB. Namun, balok variasi mengalami lendutan maksimum yang lebih besar, yaitu 7,74 mm dan 5,38 mm, dibandingkan balok kontrol sebesar 2,22 mm dan 2,92 mm. Pola keruntuhan menunjukkan bahwa balok kontrol mengalami keruntuhan lentur yang bersifat daktail, sedangkan balok variasi cenderung mengalami keruntuhan rapuh dengan dominasi retak lentur dan geser. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa tulangan GFRP efektif meningkatkan kapasitas beban balok, namun disertai dengan lendutan yang lebih besar dan keruntuhan yang lebih cenderung getas.

Profil baja IWF (Instrument Wide Flange) merupakan elemen struktur yang banyak digunakan pada bangunan industri karena kemudahan dalam pemasangan dan fleksibilitasnya. Namun, kondisi lingkungan ekstrem seperti genangan air dengan pH asam maupun basa dapat mempercepat proses demineralisasi (korosi) pada baja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi laju kehilangan unsur Fe dari profil baja IWF akibat perendaman dalam larutan dengan pH ekstrem, serta menyusun model matematis yang menggambarkan proses demineralisasi. Metode yang digunakan adalah uji laboratorium dengan perendaman potongan baja dalam larutan pH 4, 7, dan 10 selama 72 jam, dilanjutkan dengan uji TDS, ORP, dan morfologi. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa pada pH 4, terjadi demineralisasi Fe tertinggi sebesar 16,167 mg dengan rata-rata ORP sebesar 195,5 mV dan TDS 732,55 ppm. Berdasarkan data tersebut, dibentuk model matematis diferensial untuk memprediksi laju demineralisasi. Disarankan penggunaan pelapis (coating) yang sesuai untuk meningkatkan umur pakai struktur baja.

A steel truss bridge is a structure constructed from a series of interconnected steel bars. The loads received by this structure are analyzed and transferred to the steel bars that make up the structure. Factors that need to be analyzed in bridge construction include the location and surrounding environmental conditions. After identifying the type of soil and bedrock beneath the surface, the materials used must meet strength or durability test standards before the bridge can be operated. The materials used must comply with the Indonesian National Standard (SNI). In addition to the factors mentioned above, the bridge must undergo a feasibility evaluation. Among the various tests used to evaluate bridge strength, one is vibration testing. The vibration test method, when compared to the load test method, shows higher cost efficiency and does not cause damage to the structure.

The rapid development of digital technology has driven the advancement of the gaming industry in Indonesia, including the emergence of local games such as DreadOut by Digital Happiness, which has gained international recognition. However, this success is accompanied by serious challenges in the form of piracy through illegal websites that harm copyright holders. This study aims to analyze the legal protection of the game DreadOut against piracy practices based on Law Number 28 of 2014 concerning Copyright. The method used is a normative juridical approach through statutory analysis and literature study. The findings show that DreadOut is a copyrighted work categorized as a video game and is legally protected. Nevertheless, law enforcement against piracy still faces various obstacles, such as the complaint-based offense system, low public awareness, and the ease of access to piracy sites. Therefore, stronger inter-agency cooperation, policy reforms to shift complaint-based offenses into ordinary offenses, and public education to increase respect for intellectual property rights are needed. Effective legal protection will support the growth of the local gaming industry and ensure the sustainability of Indonesian creative works in the digital era.

Local culture plays a strategic role in shaping and maintaining the identity of the diverse Indonesian nation. In the context of higher education, local culture does not merely function as a heritage of tradition but also as a source of values and character that can strengthen students’ national consciousness. This research aims to analyze the role of local culture as the foundation of national identity at the university and to identify strategies for implementing cultural values in the educational process and at campus life. This research employes a descriptive qualitative approach using interviews, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), participatory observation, and document analysis to collect data. The findings indicate that the internalization of local cultural values through curriculum, student activities, and academic culture can strengthen the self-identity of students as the nation’s next generation. Thus, higher education institutions play a crucial role as agents of cultural preservation while simultaneously driving national ideology through the development of academic and non-academic programs rooted in local values. Thus, strengthening local culture in higher education is a strategic step in building a national identity that is characterized, competitive, and uniquely Indonesian.

The old bridge structure, are subjects that must be monitored in bridge maintenance. Bridge detection supervision is very necessary to determine structural deformation caused by normal operations or environmental impacts such as temperature, humidity and heavy vehicle loads. Monitoring the structure as a whole also needs to be carried out after extreme conditions occur, such as an earthquake. Research on structural dynamics analysis of steel frame bridge conditions to determine the behavior of the structure. Vibration data is read using a wireless sensor network or accelerometer. The vibration mode signal obtained is processed using Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) analysis via MATLAB software, which will produce a graph of the relationship between the frequency domain and the time domain. Through this graph, the dynamic characteristics of the bridge structure can be analyzed, with several variations in the condition of the bridge structure.

This study aims to determine the representation of the father's role as a single parent in the short film "Mana Janji Ayah." The study used a qualitative method with Roland Barthes's semiotic analysis focusing on three layers of meaning: denotation, connotation, and myth. The analysis was conducted on scenes depicting the father's role, including as protector, patient, breadwinner, caretaker, and bringer of happiness to children. The results show that the representation of fathers is not limited to financial functions but also encompasses emotional and moral roles, such as affection, responsibility, and sacrifice in raising children. The film depicts a single father who works as a bajaj driver to support his children after the death of his wife, despite often facing economic constraints and environmental stigma. This representation is conveyed through visual and audio cues that reinforce the message of a father's struggle and sincerity. This study confirms that film can be a medium that reflects social reality, particularly the complexity of the role of single fathers, which is often overlooked in society.

This research was conducted to evaluate the weld joint quality of V-groove and double V-groove configurations on ASTM A36 low carbon steel using the Self Shielded Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW-SS) method. ASTM A36 was selected as the base material due to its favorable mechanical properties, excellent weldability, and wide application in construction and manufacturing. The welding process was carried out on steel plates with a thickness of 10 mm using E71T-1C wire, under controlled parameters of 140 A current, 24 V voltage, and 1G welding position. The weld quality was assessed through Dye Penetrant Testing (DPT), tensile testing, and bending testing. The Dye Penetrant Testing DPT results showed that the double V-groove joints exhibited fewer and smaller surface defects compared to the V-groove joints, indicating better weld homogeneity. Tensile testing demonstrated an average maximum strength of 277.645 MPa for the V-groove and 301.904 MPa for the double V-groove, reflecting an improvement of approximately 8.7% in the double V-groove. The bending tests revealed that the double V-groove joints were able to maintain structural integrity without significant cracks, while the V-groove joints tended to show defect indications under bending loads. Based on these findings, the double V-groove configuration is considered superior in terms of both strength and toughness, and therefore recommended for structural and manufacturing applications requiring high-quality joints in ASTM A36 low carbon steel.

Bajakah stem (Spatholobus littoralis Hassk) is one of the plants often used as traditional medicine. This plant is often used by the people of the interior of Kalimantan as a traditional medicine. The Dayak people know the bajakah stem plant as a medicine to increase stamina and cure various diseases, boiled water from bajakah stems can be used to cure diarrhea, dysentery, aches and pains, wounds, and other diseases and is even considered to cure cancer. This study aims to identify saponin compounds in ethanol extracts and n-hexane fractions of bajakah tampala stems (Spatholobus littoralis Hassk) using the Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) method. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the thin layer chromatography profile shows that the ethanol fraction produces seven spots with varying Rf values ​​(0.93; 0.80; 0.77; 0.75; 0.68; 0.63; and 0.56). Meanwhile, the n-hexane fraction only produced three spots with narrower Rf values ​​(0.56, 0.68, and 0.63). The comparison compound, sapogenin, had an Rf value of 0.98. This study concluded that ethanol was more effective than n-hexane in extracting bioactive compounds, especially saponins

Bajakah tampala (Spatholobus littoralis Hassk.) is a medicinal plant that is traditionally used by the Dayak people to overcome various diseases, including indigestion such as diarrhea and dysentery. This plant is known to contain secondary metabolites, including flavonoids, tannins, saponins, alkaloids, and phenolics, which have the potential to have antibacterial activity. This study aims to evaluate the antibacterial activity of pulp extract of patchy bajakah with n-hexane solvent against Escherichia coli ATCC 25922. The extract was obtained through the maceration method and tested using the well diffusion method at concentrations of 10%, 20%, and 30%. The results showed a relatively low yield of the extract (0.10–0.14%) with a reddish-orange color. The inhibition zones formed ranged from 4.28–5.55 mm with significant differences between concentrations (p = 0.000), but the antibacterial activity was relatively low. These findings indicate that the active compounds of the patch stalk are likely to be more polar or semi-polar, so they are less optimally extracted using the nonpolar solvent n-hexane. Therefore, further research with different solvent variations, particularly those that are polar, is urgently needed to uncover the greater antibacterial potential of these plants.

The rapid advancement of science and technology requires universities to provide safe, comfortable, and representative learning facilities. One such initiative is the construction of a five-story lecture building at Dr. Soetomo University, designed with a steel structure as an alternative to reinforced concrete. Steel was chosen due to its high tensile strength, uniform material properties, lighter weight, ease of installation, and strong resistance to earthquake loads. This study aims to design a five-story lecture building with a steel structure that meets the requirements of strength, stability, and safety in accordance with applicable standards. The method applied is structural planning based on SNI 1729:2020, SNI 1727:2020, and SNI 1726:2019 using the Load and Resistance Factor Design (LRFD) approach. Structural analysis was conducted with SAP2000 version 2014 through three-dimensional modeling that considers geometry, material properties, loading, and placement. The results show that the selected steel profiles for beams, columns, and connections are capable of supporting the combination of dead loads, live loads, and seismic loads with safe performance. The maximum stress remains below the allowable limit, and the deflection values do not exceed the permitted deviation. These findings confirm that steel provides efficiency in dimensions and materials while offering practicality and earthquake resistance, and the design produced can serve as a useful reference for future multi-story building projects in earthquake-prone regions.

The development of transportation infrastructure in Indonesia continues to be prioritized to enhance regional connectivity, including the maintenance and replacement of bridges that have exceeded their service life. The Semut Bridge in Surabaya, originally a three-span reinforced concrete girder bridge, has experienced structural deterioration due to corrosion and the presence of a central pier obstructing river flow. These conditions have reduced hydraulic capacity, increased sedimentation risk, and heightened the potential for flooding. This study redesigns the Semut Bridge by converting the existing structure into a single-span Howe truss steel bridge. The load analysis refers to SNI 1725 using the Load and Resistance Factor Design (LRFD) method, while structural modeling was carried out both manually and with SAP2000 software. The planning includes the vehicle deck slab, composite girders, main truss members, connections, elastomeric bearings, and abutments. The results show that the bridge deck uses a 20 cm thick reinforced concrete slab with a one-way reinforcement system. Composite girders employ WF profiles, connections use shear connector studs with 25 mm diameter, and the main truss members adopt WF 900×300×16×38 profiles. The total concrete volume required is 282.6 m³, and the estimated steel demand reaches 122,383.79 kg. The single-span design eliminates the central pier, thereby improving river flow capacity while providing a structurally efficient, durable, and easily maintained solution.

. The phenomenon of a potential megathrust earthquake predicted to occur in the coming years has raised widespread concern among the Indonesian public, particularly due to the high vulnerability of existing structures. In response to this issue, this study aims to analyze the structural capacity of buildings in resisting seismic forces and lateral loads, with a specific focus on factory structures. As a civil engineering student specializing in structural engineering, the objective of this research is to examine the behavior, performance, and potential failure patterns of building structures under earthquake loads. The research method employs pushover analysis as a tool for structural assessment, while the evaluation process refers to the guidelines outlined in ATC-40. The analysis results indicate that the factory structure is capable of withstanding a lateral load of 108,587.40 kN, with a controlled roof displacement of 1.5 meters. The structural performance level is categorized under the Damage Control (DO) stage, specifically at performance level SP-2, where the structure remains standing under lateral loads but experiences damage requiring repair before reuse. Furthermore, the failure patterns observed reveal a progressive performance of structural elements, shifting from condition B (Basic), IO (Immediate Occupancy), LS (Life Safety), C (Collapse Prevention), up to E (Extreme Damage). These findings highlight the importance of proper structural design and evaluation in enhancing resilience, ensuring safety, and minimizing potential risks from future megathrust earthquake events.

Welding is one of the most essential metal joining processes in manufacturing, construction, and industrial applications, where Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) remains widely used due to its flexibility, cost-effectiveness, and ability to be applied in various welding positions. This study aims to analyze the effect of welding position variations on the mechanical properties of SS400 steel, particularly in terms of tensile strength, bending strength, and microstructural characteristics. The experimental method was conducted using 6 mm thick SS400 steel with E6013 electrodes of 2.6 mm diameter in three welding positions: 1G, 2G, and 3G. The welded specimens were then tested through tensile testing (ASTM E8) and bending testing (ASTM E190-14), followed by microstructural analysis in the weld metal area. The results revealed that welding position significantly affects the mechanical properties of welded joints, where the 3G position produced the highest tensile strength of 188.48 kgf/mm², while the 2G position produced the lowest tensile strength of 113.70 kgf/mm². Conversely, the bending test showed that the 2G position provided the maximum bending strength of 1394 kgf/mm², followed by 3G and 1G positions. Microstructural observations demonstrated variations in the distribution of ferrite, pearlite, martensite, and cementite phases across different welding positions, with the dominance of ferrite and pearlite in the 3G specimen contributing to higher tensile strength, while the dominance of martensite and cementite in the 2G specimen enhanced hardness and bending resistance. Overall, this study confirms that welding position plays a crucial role in determining the quality of SS400 welded joints, and the findings are expected to serve as practical guidance for industry in selecting appropriate welding positions for construction needs, while encouraging further research with additional variables such as electrode type, welding current, and post-weld heat treatment to achieve a more comprehensive understanding.

In the manufacturing industry, surface roughness is one of the important quality parameters in machining results, especially in the vertical milling process. This study aims to optimize the concentration of soluble oil coolant and feed rate on the surface roughness of ST 37 steel using the Taguchi method. The material used is ST 37 steel with dimensions of 10 mm × 17 mm × 50 mm, processed using a Dixon XZ7550CW vertical milling machine with a 10 mm diameter HSS endmill. Variations in the concentration of Randocut 500 coolant (3%, 5%, 10%) and feed rate (24, 40, 65 mm/min) were tested with fixed parameters such as a depth of cut of 0.5 mm and a spindle speed of 580 rpm. Surface roughness values (Ra) were measured using a surface roughness tester and analyzed using the Taguchi method and ANOVA. The results showed that a coolant concentration of 5% and a feedrate of 24 mm/min produced the lowest surface roughness (2.24 µm) with the highest S/N ratio (-7.01 dB). ANOVA analysis revealed that feed rate had the most dominant influence (62.4%) on surface roughness, followed by coolant concentration (36.8%). The optimal combination to minimize surface roughness is a concentration of 5% and a feed rate of 24 mm/min..

Sambungan pelat baja merupakan komponen penting dalam sistem struktur bangunan, namun rentan terhadap kerusakan akibat beban berulang yang dapat menyebabkan inisiasi retak di sekitar lubang baut. Teknik cold-expansion bekerja dengan menciptakan tegangan sisa kompresif di sekitar lubang baut melalui deformasi plastis, sehingga mampu menghambat pertumbuhan retak dan meningkatkan kapasitas tarik sambungan. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan eksperimen dengan pengujian tarik statik pada dua kelompok benda uji: tanpa perlakuan dan dengan perlakuan cold-expansion. Variasi yang digunakan meliputi diameter baut 6 mm dan 8 mm pada pelat baja setebal 3 mm. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa teknik cold-expansion mampu meningkatkan tegangan maksimum rerata sebesar 11,87% untuk baut 6 mm dan sebesar 6,71% untuk baut 8 mm. Dengan demikian, cold-expansion terbukti efektif sebagai metode perkuatan sambungan baja dalam mendukung konservasi dan pemeliharaan bangunan terhadap beban ekstrem.

This Community Service Activity (PKM) was carried out in class V at SDN Roworeke 2 with 11 students which aims to improve the quality of English learning trough the use of media and fun learning techniques. The methods used included demonstration, question and answer methods as well as the use of activite learning techniques such as educational games and songs. The result of the activity showed an uncrease in student enthusiasm and participation in learning, this activity was also able to increase interest and motivation in learning English.

Product quality is affected by the conventional turning process that requires coolant to maintain surface smoothness and reduce tool wear. Vegetable oils such as coconut, corn, and palm oil are environmentally friendly alternatives to chemical coolants (dromus). This study tested the effect of vegetable coolants on the surface of ST 60 steel using an experimental method with variations in a mixture of oil, water, and liquid soap. Turning was carried out at a depth of 0.5 mm, a rotation speed of 1035 rpm, and a cutting speed of 65 mm/min.
