This study examines Japanese advertising and product-information texts on Shiseido Japan’s official website (www.brand.shiseido.co.jp) that grammatically prevent readers from construing statements as universal claims (“always” or “true for everyone”). It addresses two problems: how universal readings are blocked through grammatical construction in this register, and how the main blocking mechanisms differ in limiting generalisation and managing scope. The data consist of sentence-level usage, precautionary, and quality-related statements that plausibly invite broad general interpretations. Seven analytically representative tokens are used as illustrative evidence, covering wake-negation, baai-based case framing, and event/occasion packaging with V-ru koto ga aru, including rare-event calibration with mare ni and layered conditional framing. The study employs qualitative, theory-driven grammatical analysis focusing on clause structure, embedding, nominalisation, connective relations, and the compositional contribution of key markers. The results identify recurring templates with distinct structural signatures. Wake-negation blocks over-strong uptake by denying a candidate inference (…to iu wake de wa arimasen). Case framing with baai shifts categorical commitments into situation-restricted possibility (…baai ga arimasu), including complex variants that add causal linkage, avoidance marking, and directive closure. Event/occasion packaging with koto plus existential predication (…koto ga arimasu) presents anomalies as contingent occurrences, and it can be triggered by causal conditions (e.g., temperature change) or conditional frames (…to). Rare-event marking with mare ni further calibrates frequency and often co-occurs with contrastive reassurance about quality. Overall, universal-blocking emerges as a set of non-redundant grammatical routes that constrain inference, situational domain, and event profiling in a compact public informational genre.

This community service program was carried out in Bone-Bone Village, focusing on the utilization of local potential, namely taro and coffee husks, to be developed into economically valuable products such as taro donuts and coffee husk tea. The main problems faced by the community were the lack of knowledge about the diversification of local food products and limited skills in processing simple materials into marketable products. The implementation methods included counseling on the importance of food processing innovation, hands-on training in producing taro donuts and coffee husk tea, as well as mentoring in basic business management such as packaging and marketing strategies. The results of the program indicated an increase in the community’s understanding and skills in processing local resources into creative and competitive products. In addition, this activity provided motivation for the community to develop micro-enterprises based on village potential, which is expected to improve family income and support village self-reliance.

This study aims to examine the potential of processing purple sweet potatoes into stick-shaped snack products as an effort to improve the economy of Tebing Linggahara Village. Purple sweet potato is a local commodity with high nutritional value, antioxidant content, and promising market prospects when processed into modern snack products. The research method used was a descriptive approach consisting of observation, interviews, and direct product processing practices with the local community. The findings indicate that processing purple sweet potatoes into snack sticks provides higher economic value compared to selling fresh sweet potatoes, which generally have lower market prices. In addition, the community gained knowledge of food processing techniques, hygiene standards, packaging, and effective marketing strategies to enhance product competitiveness. Thus, purple sweet potato stick processing has the potential to serve as a sustainable local MSME development strategy, thereby improving the welfare and economic independence of Tebing Linggahara Village residents.

The program was implemented in several stages, including initial observation, discussion with the MSME, packaging design planning, and implementation of new bottle and label packaging with eye-catching visuals and natural colors. The assistance also included branding education to strengthen product identity and increase consumer loyalty. The results showed increased professionalism among the MSME actors and positive consumer responses, evidenced by rising sales through social media and local marketplaces. This community service activity aims to explore and optimize the local potential of the abundant soursop fruit in Puteri Betung Village, Gayo Lues Regency. The primary problem lies in the local community's underutilization of the abundant soursop fruit. This activity was conducted in the form of training on making soursop dodol and product packaging design. The methods used include a participatory approach, direct training, and evaluation of the work produced. This activity resulted in an increased understanding among the community regarding the added value of soursop fruit, improved technical skills in product processing, and support from the local government for the continuation of the product. The soursop dodol product successfully won 1st place in the local potential utilization category at the district-level expo. The results of this activity show that local potential-based mentoring can be an effective medium for empowering the community's economy.
