This study aims to understand the process of social ethics formation among children in Talian Kereng Village in response to the influence of modernization and technological advancements. The research was conducted through a Community Service Program (KKN) that involved in-depth interviews and direct observations of the social lives of children in the village. The findings reveal that the role of family, community leaders, and religious institutions is crucial in instilling social ethical values in children from an early age. In this village, community leaders and religious figures are still highly respected and seen as role models in preserving traditional values. However, significant challenges arise from technological advancements, particularly the use of social media, which influences the perspectives and behavior of children. Many children are becoming influenced by social media content that does not always align with local norms. Additionally, the lack of parental involvement in upbringing, either due to their busy schedules or limited knowledge of parenting in the digital era, exacerbates this situation. Economic disparities also contribute to differences in children's access to technology, ultimately affecting the extent of their exposure to these influences. This study recommends a comprehensive approach that combines formal education, family roles, and community control over the impact of technology. Furthermore, the reinforcement of religious values and local traditions must be strengthened to address the challenges of modernization. In this way, positive social ethics can continue to be preserved and instilled in the younger generation of Talian Kereng Village

Schools in Maluku often face social conflicts rooted in religious, ethnic, and historical local tensions, which have the potential to disrupt the learning process and create an unconducive environment. The main issue at hand is how to foster a harmonious and peaceful atmosphere among students in such a situation. This study aims to analyze the role of local cultural values as a foundation for conflict resolution in schools, supporting education and peacebuilding. The study uses a qualitative method with observations and in-depth interviews in several schools in Maluku. The findings show that cultural values such as Pela, Gandong, and Masohi play a crucial role in fostering tolerance and peace among students. Pela and Gandong serve as symbols of inter-religious and inter-regional brotherhood, which are internalized through collaborative activities among students, while Masohi, which emphasizes mutual cooperation, is applied in project-based learning and community activities, promoting collaboration and empathy. These findings highlight the importance of integrating local cultural values as a hidden curriculum in shaping tolerant student characters and creating a school environment that sustainably supports peacebuilding.

A serious problem faced by the Indonesian people is the orientation of the current education system which focuses too much on developing the left brain (cognitive) and pays too little attention to developing the right brain (affective, empathy and feeling). The learning process is passive and rigid, which makes it unpleasant for children. Subjects related to character education (such as character and religion) emphasize the left brain aspect (memorization, or just knowledge) in practice. This can damage children's character and hinder their creativity. In fact, character formation must be carried out systematically and continuously involving aspects of knowledge, feeling, loving and acting. Character formation can be likened to the formation of a person into a body builder (bodybuilder) who requires continuous moral muscle training to become sturdy and strong. Apart from that, the success of character education must also be supported by a good and enjoyable educational environment for children. Character education is needed not only at school, but also at home and in social environments.

The research method used is qualitative, with interviews as the main data collection technique. The research results show that teachers use methods such as discussions and case studies to link religious teachings with language learning. Even though there are challenges, such as students' lack of interest in religious values material, the implementation of Christian values is still carried out through routine school activities such as monthly services and morning prayers, as well as collaboration between language teachers and religion teachers. This research provides an illustration that integrating Christian values in learning can have a positive impact on student character, but requires a creative approach to attract student interest more effectively.

Abortion is a controversial issue that involves debates across various sectors, including legal, religious, ethical, and health aspects. Defined as the termination of pregnancy before the fetus can survive outside the womb, abortion in Indonesia is regulated by Health Law No. 36 of 2009, Article 75, which allows the procedure only in cases of medical emergencies and pregnancies resulting from rape. Despite these regulations, illegal abortions still occur frequently, driven by unwanted pregnancies, economic issues, and social stigma. This paper will discuss various aspects, including the causes of abortion, health impacts, types of abortion in special cases, and the Christian ethical perspective. The research method employed is literature review. The findings indicate that abortion can occur due to various factors such as fear, health issues, socio-economic conditions, and misunderstandings about its consequences. Illegal abortions pose serious risks to women's physical and mental health, including infections, bleeding, emotional trauma, and even death. Medically, abortion may be performed to protect the mother’s life in high-risk pregnancies, such as in cases of uterine cancer or rape. However, from the Christian ethical perspective, abortion is viewed as contrary to God's will, as the fetus is considered a living being that must be protected from conception.

This community service program aims to build religious awareness in the community through Maghrib Tilawah activities at the At-Takwa Mosque, Baru Village, Asahan Regency. This program focuses on children and adolescents, with the aim of getting them used to reading the Qur'an after Maghrib prayers. In this activity, participants are accompanied by ustadz and Community Service (KKN) students who provide guidance on tajwid and correct reading. Based on the results of observations, this activity succeeded in attracting the active participation of around 30 participants each night. The positive impact can be seen from the increase in the ability to read the Qur'an and changes in the behavior of participants who become more religious. Some challenges in implementing the program include fluctuations in the number of participants and the need for extra guidance for children who still have limitations in reading the Qur'an. With continuous evaluation and adjustment, this program is expected to continue to contribute to increasing religious awareness in the community, as well as creating a strong foundation for the future Qur'anic generation.

The role of ventilators as life-support devices in critical care has prompted ethical and religious discussions within Islamic perspectives, particularly regarding end-of-life decisions. Islam mandates the preservation of life as a sacred duty under the principle of hifz an-nafs (protection of life), balanced with the prohibition of excessive measures (israf) and avoidance of unnecessary suffering (la darar wa la dirar). This study explores Islamic perspectives on the use of ventilators by integrating modern medical ethics with Islamic jurisprudence, aiming to provide nuanced guidance for healthcare providers and Muslim families. Employing a qualitative document analysis, this research examines fatwas from various Islamic institutions and relevant ethical theories in Islamic law. Findings indicate significant variability among Islamic rulings, where some permit the withdrawal of ventilators under specific medical prognoses, while others advocate continued use as long as signs of life persist. The study underscores the need for comprehensive, practical Islamic medical guidelines to support healthcare providers and patients' families in making informed, ethical decisions in critical care situations.

This study examines the legality of pig valve transplantation in humans from an Islamic perspective, with the aim of understanding the differences of opinion that exist among scholars and medical professionals. This literature review identified two main views: first, arguments in favor of the use of pig valves in emergency situations, which adhere to the principle that patient safety should be the top priority. Proponents of this view argue that in critical conditions, such as heart failure, the use of pig valves can be justified to save lives, given the limited halal alternatives available. Second, there is a view that rejects the use of pig valves, arguing that the laws of halal and haram in Islam cannot be ignored, even in a medical context. Opponents argue that more sharia-compliant solutions should be sought, such as the use of valves made from synthetic materials or halal animals. This study shows that the legal issue of pig valve transplantation is multidimensional, encompassing medical, ethical, and religious aspects. Therefore, a constructive dialogue is needed between scholars, medical practitioners, and the community to find a solution that is acceptable to all parties, while respecting Islamic principles in medical decision-making.
