This study aims to analyze the influence of self-efficacy and job characteristics on the job satisfaction of freelance photographers in Surabaya. The background of this research is based on the growth of the gig economy, which has encouraged the emergence of independent work patterns where workers have the freedom to manage their own time, methods, and projects. However, this freelance work system also presents various challenges, such as project uncertainty, fluctuating workloads, and limited structured support or evaluation. In the context of freelance photography, these dynamics are particularly evident, as the work demands not only creativity but also managerial skills to organize work processes independently. This study employs a quantitative approach using a survey method with questionnaires distributed to 100 freelance photographers selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using the Partial Least Squares (PLS) method. The results indicate that self-efficacy and job characteristics significantly contribute to shaping job satisfaction. Strong self-efficacy particularly previous work experience enhances freelancers’ confidence in facing challenges, while clear job characteristics, especially in terms of task identity, make them feel more directed, valued, and satisfied with their work. These findings emphasize the importance of both internal and external factors in determining job satisfaction and provide theoretical as well as practical contributions to the management of freelance workers in the creative sector, particularly in designing adaptive work strategies in the digital economy era.

This study aims to analyze the sustainability strategies of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) programs through inmate empowerment at Class I Correctional Institutions in Malang and Surabaya. The MSME program is positioned not only as a form of self-reliance training but also as a means of social and economic rehabilitation for inmates. The research employs a qualitative case study approach with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The study applies the Triple Bottom Line theory (profit, people, planet) by Elkington and Porter's competitive advantage theory as analytical frameworks. The findings indicate that each institution applies unique sustainability strategies with distinct advantages and limitations. Lapas Malang emphasizes agriculture-based production but faces challenges in market access and technology. In contrast, Lapas Surabaya benefits from industrial partnerships, yet heavily relies on a single partner. The implementation of sustainability strategies—covering economic, social, and environmental dimensions—shows varying degrees of effectiveness depending on structural support and stakeholder involvement. The study concludes that MSME sustainability in correctional settings requires integrated multidimensional strategies, long-term partnerships, and inmate empowerment aligned with socio-economic developments.

Hospitals are places that provide health services to the community through the services they offer. In their operations, hospitals require fixed assets to be us|ed ind|epe|nd|ently or i|n co|mbi|nati|on wi|th other assets in the hospital for long-term operations. The fixed assets us|ed by hospitals make a significant contribution because they require large expenditures and are used over the long term. This study was conducted with the aim of analyzing the application of fixed asset accounting treatment at XYZ Hospital in accordance with PSAK 216. This study adopted a descriptive qualitative methodological approach to achieve the predetermined research objectives. The data collection technique applied was conducting interviews with the asset management department and obtaining accounting treatment documents and a detailed list of fixed assets of XYZ Hospital. The research findings show that the handling of fixed assets and the implementation of PSAK 216 on fixed assets at XYZ Hospital indicate that XYZ Hospital records its fixed assets if they have a useful life of more than one year, measures the initial cost of assets from the acquisition price, revalues assets but there is no method explaining the calculation method, applies the straight-line method for depreciation, discontinues fixed assets if they can no longer be used, and records all these events in its financial statements. It is important to apply PSAK 216 in implementing accounting treatments to minimize and prevent the risk of fixed asset recording errors in financial statements.

Prayer (shalat) is the central act of worship in Islam and holds a fundamental role in nurturing the spiritual life of Muslims. However, in practice, challenges often arise within society, particularly regarding the accuracy of recitations, movements, and the cohesiveness of congregational prayer. Thus, the urgency of understanding correct fiqh shalat remains crucial to ensure the quality of worship and strengthen ukhuwah islamiyah (Islamic brotherhood). In response to this need, students of Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar, through the National Community Service Program (KKN) in Surabaya, organized a community engagement activity under the theme of Kemuhammadiyahan, namely a congregational prayer competition involving members of ‘Aisyiyah. The aim of this activity was to internalize Muhammadiyah values, enhance the understanding of fiqh shalat according to Islamic teachings, and foster a spirit of togetherness through an educational and participatory approach. The competition was assessed based on prayer movements, recitations, and group cohesiveness. The results revealed active participation and high enthusiasm from the participants, who not only competed but also learned to improve the quality of their worship. This activity successfully created a positive religious atmosphere, strengthened bonds among community members, and affirmed the role of KKN as a medium of community service that integrates religious education, Islamic propagation (dakwah), and spiritual development rooted in progressive Islamic values.

This study is prompted by the reduction in the Rexona brand index in 2024, which coincided with several program-related mistakes that generated consumer dissatisfaction and led to a noticeable erosion of both brand image and brand trust. Such circumstances highlight the vulnerability of even well-established brands when faced with consumer discontent, as missteps in marketing campaigns or product related initiatives can have a lasting impact on how consumers perceive and evaluate a brand. For companies operating in highly competitive industries, these issues raise serious concerns, since negative brand perceptions and diminished trust are likely to undermine consumer loyalty, weaken brand equity, and reduce the likelihood of long-term purchasing behavior. Against this backdrop, the present research seeks to examine more deeply how brand image and brand trust contribute to shaping consumers repurchase intention for Rexona products in Surabaya, a city that represents a dynamic and diverse consumer market. To achieve this objective, the study adopted a quantitative research approach, applying the Partial Least Squares (PLS) method for statistical analysis. Data were obtained through purposive sampling, involving 110 respondents who were identified as active and cosistent user of Rexona products within the city of Surabaya. The findings of the research reveal that brand image shows a benefical effect on repurchase intention, while brand trust demonstrates a significant role in enhancing consumer willingness to engage in repeat purchases. These results emphasize that the synergy between a strong brand image and sustained consumer trust acts as a fundamental determinant for maintaining repurchase intention, particularly within highly competitive market environments.

This study aims to analyze the effect of service quality and library facilities on student satisfaction at SDN Balongsari I/500 Surabaya. The quality of library services includes aspects of speed, reliability, and responsiveness of library staff, while library facilities include the availability of book collections, reading rooms, and other supporting facilities. The research method used is quantitative with a survey approach. The research sample consisted of 85 students who actively use the library at SDN Balongsari I/500 Surabaya, who were selected by proportional stratified random sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression to test the effect of service quality and facility variables on student satisfaction. The results showed that the quality of library services and facilities simultaneously, as indicated by the calculated F value greater than the F table value, namely the calculated F of 8.094 and the F table of 3.9574, had a positive and significant effect on student satisfaction. Partially, the calculated t value for the service quality variable was 4.898 while the calculated T value for the facility variable was 4.850. So service quality has a more dominant influence than library facilities. This study suggests improving service quality and developing library facilities as a strategy to increase student satisfaction in utilizing school libraries. Keywords: Quality of Library Services and Facilities and Student Satisfaction.

Physics learning in high schools is often facing challenges due to lack of laboratory facilities, especially for abstract topics such as electron deflection. Limited equipment often results in a theoretical learning process without real-world practical experience. This community service activity aims to address this gap by assisting with electron deflection experiments at a high school in Surabaya. The methods applied included preparation and coordination, provision of equipment, inquiry-based learning design, classroom experiment implementation, and activity evaluation. During the program, the team brought the electron deflection experiment equipment to the school. Students were divided into small groups, and each group took turns interacting closely with the equipment brought by the team. Students were encouraged to propose hypotheses, observe carefully, and engage in discussions. A total of 58 students participated in this activity and had the opportunity to directly observe electron path in a cathode ray tube. The evaluation showed an excellent response from students with an average score of 3.48 (scale 1–4), where they felt this activity helped them learn theory with practice and increased their enthusiasm for learning. This program demonstrates that collaboration between universities and schools can be an efficient solution to overcome the lack of laboratory facilities and improve the quality of more meaningful physics learning.
