Population growth and lifestyle changes in Indonesia have led to complex waste management issues, negatively impacting social, health, and environmental sustainability aspects. To address this, a sustainable management approach that actively involves community participation is necessary. The concept of a Waste Bank, based on the 3R principles (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), emerges as a strategic, community-based solution. This community service program aims to encourage active community participation in the Waste Bank program in Tanjung Uban Selatan, Bintan Regency, while supporting the realization of a Smart City based on intelligent and participatory environments. The methodology used is a qualitative approach to gain in-depth understanding. Primary data collection was carried out through interviews, participatory observations, and documentation studies. Key informants were purposively selected from various stakeholders, including Waste Bank administrators, local government representatives, and community members. The results show that, although initially challenging to increase community participation, the program has had a significant positive impact. It successfully shifted the community's view of waste as a valuable economic resource. Quantitatively, this is reflected in stable income from the sale of high-quality inorganic waste, such as metals and electronic waste. The program also led to strategic innovations, including sustainable education, waste savings incentives, social media use, and the "Dasi Umat" empowerment program. The success of this program, strengthened by awards at the district and national levels, makes it a model for sustainable waste management focused on community empowerment and supporting smart city development.

Boredom during the learning process often becomes a significant barrier to students’ motivation and engagement, especially in vocational education settings. This phenomenon was also observed at SMKS Muhammadiyah 9 Medan, where some students demonstrated a lack of interest and active participation during learning activities. This study aims to analyze how the implementation of active learning strategies can reduce boredom and improve the quality of classroom interaction. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with teachers and students, direct classroom observations, and supporting documentation. The data were analyzed inductively using thematic analysis to identify emerging patterns, trends, and meanings from teaching practices. The findings reveal that the application of active learning strategies—such as group discussions, project-based learning, problem solving, and the use of interactive learning media—positively impacts the learning process. These strategies not only enhance participation and learning motivation but also foster collaboration among students, improve teacher–student communication, and develop critical and social thinking skills. Furthermore, the classroom atmosphere becomes more dynamic, enjoyable, and participatory, significantly reducing learning boredom. Therefore, active learning strategies are proven to be relevant and effective in creating engaging, interactive, and meaningful learning experiences for students at SMKS Muhammadiyah 9 Medan. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the establishment of the Menara Pandang tourist attraction and the increase in the number of tourist visits to the Salib Kasih tourist destination. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation with several informants, namely the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of Salib Kasih and Menara Pandang, the Tourism Office of North Tapanuli, tourism workers, local business actors, and visiting tourists. The results of the study show that the establishment of Menara Pandang has a significant relationship with the increase in tourist visits to Salib Kasih. This relationship can be seen from the growth in the number of tourists coming after the development of the new facility, namely Menara Pandang. Supporting factors of this relationship include the proximity of the two tourist sites, the development of integrated tour packages, active promotion through social media, and support from the local government in providing facilities and infrastructure. With this integration, tourists who previously only visited Salib Kasih are now encouraged to also enjoy the attraction of Menara Pandang, thus extending their length of stay and giving a positive impact on the local economy. Furthermore, this study also found that the existence of Menara Pandang strengthens the image of Salib Kasih as a religious tourism destination as well as natural tourism with its unique features and attractions. Therefore, the development of additional strategic tourist attractions can be an effective step in increasing both attractiveness and the number of tourist visits, especially in religious and nature-based destinations. This research emphasizes the importance of collaboration among stakeholders in sustainable tourism development.

This study aims to determine the strategy of the Tourism Office in developing the Pandaratan Beach tourist destination, Sarudik District, Central Tapanuli Regency. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through direct field observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation of a number of informants deemed relevant, namely the Tourism Office, Pokdarwis, the community as managers, business actors, and tourists. The results show that the Tourism Office's strategy in developing Pandaratan Beach has been formulated based on the Central Tapanuli Regency Tourism Office's strategic plan (Renstra). This strategy focuses on equitable distribution of development infrastructure with a superior commodity-based approach, which aims to support tourist attractions and increase the contribution of the tourism sector to regional development. The strategy implementation is realized through various programs, including proposing basic infrastructure development, human resource development through training, destination promotion through social media, development of natural tourism products, and the formation and empowerment of tourism awareness groups (Pokdarwis) as drivers of tourism awareness campaigns. The implications of this study indicate that the development of Pandaratan Beach has not been fully optimal and still faces several obstacles, such as limited supporting facilities, less than optimal tourism services, and uneven community participation, so that the impact on the quality of tourism services, increasing community participation, and the sustainability of the destination still needs to be strengthened. Therefore, a comprehensive and sustainable strengthening of the strategy is needed through cooperation from related parties so that the Pandaratan Beach tourist destination can develop more optimally based on superior commodities.

Sport tourism makes a significant contribution to the economy by increasing tourist participation and strengthening the appeal of tourist destinations. The Indonesian government’s policies in supporting culture-based sport tourism, such as Mepantigan, are reflected in various regulations and strategic programs. One of the key policies is the development of culture-based tourism as stated in the National Tourism Development Master Plan (RIPPN) 2011–2025, in which the government is committed to promoting and preserving local culture as part of tourism attractions. This study aims to design a sport tourism development model through educational videos of the Mepantigan attraction in Batubulan, Bali. Mepantigan is a traditional Balinese martial art that holds great potential as a culture- and sport-based tourism attraction. However, promotion of this attraction on digital platforms remains limited, with content that is not yet educational and relies only on a single social media channel. This study employs a qualitative method using in-depth interviews, participatory observation, documentation study, and focus group discussions. The results show that educational videos using cinematographic approaches and the AIDAS strategy are able to enhance the appeal of Mepantigan as part of sport tourism. The recommended innovative digital platform model includes the use of YouTube and TikTok to reach a wider audience as well as the application of visual techniques such as slow motion to highlight the cultural values and philosophy of Mepantigan. This research is expected to serve as a reference for the development of culture-based sport tourism promotion through digital media. The appropriate development strategy is a growth strategy through the optimization of multichannel digital media (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok) using educational video instruments as the main promotional tool, while simultaneously strengthening Mepantigan branding as an innovative sport tourism attraction in Bali.

Digital books are a transformation from printed books into digital media that can be accessed through devices such as computers, tablets, or smartphones. Digital books not only display text but can also contain multimedia elements such as images, audio, video, animations, and interactive quizzes. This makes the learning process more engaging and less monotonous. In the context of learning Hajj and Umrah material, digital books can display simulations of Hajj rituals, videos of worship in the Holy Land, and maps of Hajj and Umrah journeys, all of which can strengthen students' understanding. This study aims to explore the use of digital books as a learning medium for Islamic Religious Education (PAI) on Hajj and Umrah material at the Junior High School (SMP) level. Digital books are considered capable of overcoming the limitations of conventional learning media, which are static and less interactive. By utilizing multimedia elements such as manasik simulations, videos, prayer audio, interactive maps, and educational quizzes and games, digital books provide a more contextual, visual, and enjoyable learning experience. In addition, advantages in terms of accessibility, portability, and the ability to be adapted to students' learning styles make digital books relevant to the demands of 21st-century learning. The implementation of digital textbooks in learning was carried out through online, face-to-face, and blended learning models. Effectiveness evaluations included improvements in students' conceptual understanding, learning motivation, and digital skills. The study results indicate that digital textbooks play a significant role in improving the quality of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning, particularly on the topics of Hajj and Umrah, and supporting digital transformation in education.

This research examines the influence of transactional leadership and the entrepreneurial competence of school principals on the effectiveness of education financing in primary and secondary education settings. Effective education financing is essential to ensure that limited resources are allocated optimally to improve learning quality, infrastructure, and institutional sustainability. Transactional leadership—marked by clear performance standards, reward and punishment mechanisms, and strict supervision—provides a structured framework for financial accountability and goal achievement. Entrepreneurial competence, on the other hand, equips principals with the ability to recognize funding opportunities, innovate in revenue generation, and manage financial risks. The study adopts a quantitative survey design involving school principals and financial management personnel from a representative sample of public and private schools. Data were collected using validated questionnaires and analyzed through multiple regression to measure the direct and combined effects of the two independent variables on education financing effectiveness. The findings reveal that both transactional leadership and entrepreneurial competence significantly and positively affect financial effectiveness. Transactional leadership strengthens transparency and budget discipline, while entrepreneurial competence fosters diversification of funding sources and innovative financial strategies. These results highlight the strategic importance of integrating leadership development with entrepreneurial training for school principals. Strengthening these competencies not only enhances financial planning and accountability but also reduces dependence on a single funding source, supporting long-term educational sustainability. Future studies are encouraged to explore additional mediating factors such as organizational culture, technological infrastructure, and community involvement to provide a more comprehensive understanding of education financing dynamics.

This Field Work Practice (KKL) was conducted at Delastra Farm Yogyakarta with the objective of analyzing the implementation of marketing strategies to increase sales in the livestock sector. The research employed a qualitative approach through observation, interviews with the business owner, and documentation review. Findings reveal that Delastra Farm adopts integrated marketing strategies combining online promotion, offline promotion, and community networking. The application of Segmentation, Targeting, and Positioning (STP) as well as the Marketing Mix (product, price, place, promotion) has significantly enhanced consumer trust and strengthened the farm’s market position. Peak sales were recorded during Eid al-Adha, supported by stock increases, intensive promotions, and delivery services that meet customer expectations. Supporting factors include product quality, the credibility of the owner as both practitioner and academic, and varied promotional strategies across digital and traditional platforms. However, the farm faces several challenges, such as limited capital, fluctuating feed prices, and intense competition within the livestock market. This study highlights the importance of digital marketing adoption, customer relationship management, and product diversification to reduce seasonal risks. The practical implication is that effective marketing strategies can improve not only sales performance but also long-term brand positioning for local livestock businesses. Theoretically, this activity demonstrates the relevance of applying marketing management concepts to micro and small-scale enterprises in the agricultural sector. Strategic recommendations include strengthening digital presence through social media and marketplaces, expanding partnerships with restaurants and religious institutions, and exploring external funding to support sustainable business growth.
