The bodywork industry in Indonesia is under high competitive pressure, requiring companies to be more adaptive in understanding customer behavior in order to maintain business continuity. PT. Bengawan Karya Sakti as one of the national bodywork companies, has not optimally utilized historical transaction data to assess customer loyalty. This study aims to identify customer loyalty segmentation through the application of the RFM (Recency, Frequency, Monetary) method, which is used to analyze sales transaction data in 2022 and 2023. The study uses the CRISP-DM approach which includes the stages of business understanding, data exploration, data cleaning and processing, modeling, evaluation, and implementation of results. The transaction data analyzed includes attributes of transaction date, customer, number of transactions, and transaction value, which are then processed into RFM scores based on the transaction year and classified into categories such as Very Loyal, Loyal, At Risk, and others. The segmentation results show an increase in the number of very loyal customers from 2022 to 2023, as well as a significant decrease in inactive and at-risk customers. The chi-square statistical test shows that the difference in customer distribution between years is statistically significant (p-value <0.05), indicating a real influence from the company's strategy or external factors. The main conclusion of this study is that the RFM method is effective in the bodywork industry to support data-based marketing decision making and more targeted customer retention strategies.

The Indonesian retail industry has experienced significant changes during the 2020-2023 period, starting with the Covid-19 pandemic in early 2020. Although it is gradually showing signs of recovery, the companies have felt a huge impact, such as many stores closing, increasing operational costs, and decreasing consumer spending, which are challenges for retail business actors to maintain their business continuity. This study aims to determine the factors that can be predictors of the financial distress of retail industry companies in Indonesia. The sample in this study was retail industry companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2019-2023 period and had complete financial reports, resulting in 10 companies. Data analysis uses the logistic regression method. The results of the study show that the debt-to-equity ratio (DER) and return on asset (ROA) have a significant effect, while the current ratio (CR), total asset turnover (TATO), and operational cash flow margin (OCF margin) do not have a significant effect on financial distress. Thus, retail industry companies can utilize debt as a financing strategy to accelerate growth and need to focus on efficient asset utilization so that they can increase revenue and profit margins in order to achieve better financial performance and reduce the risk of financial distress.

The purpose of this research is to examine how production costs factor into producer choices, particularly those pertaining to output volume, selling price estimation, and company growth strategies.  The research examined micro and small business players in Kediri Regency, East Java, employing a descriptive quantitative technique.  The findings demonstrate that the production cost structure, particularly the preponderance of variable costs, considerably affects the quantity of output and the margin for price adjustment.  It has additionally been demonstrated that saving money encourages manufacturers to take risks and grow their companies.  Moreover, management accounting-based cost tracking, waste reduction, and sourcing local raw materials are all cost management tactics that impact a company's strength and ability to compete.  Producers' long-term strategic decision-making is therefore influenced by effective production cost management, which in turn affects operational sustainability.

This research aims to examine the impact of thrifting on the economic condition of clothing traders in Pasar Lasoani, to identify the factors that make thrifting a threat to these traders, to find solutions that traders can implement in facing competition with thrifted products, and to understand the Islamic economic perspective on thrifting practices in Pasar Lasoani. This study uses a qualitative research method, which is intended to describe and explain events or phenomena occurring in the field and to present data systematically, factually, and accurately regarding the facts or phenomena observed. The data for this study were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. The thrifting phenomenon has had a significant impact on the economy of clothing traders in Pasar Lasoani. On the positive side, this trend has increased income for traders who sell thrifted items due to their affordable prices and attractive variety. However, on the negative side, thrifting reduces the competitiveness of new and local clothing traders, thereby creating economic imbalances in the market. The increase in secondhand clothing imports is also perceived as a threat to the demand for new products, especially due to the strong interest of young consumers in branded clothes at low prices. To improve competitiveness, new clothing traders need to implement strategies such as price adjustments, product quality improvement, utilization of digital marketing, and consumer education on the advantages of new clothing. From an Islamic economic perspective, the practice of thrifting is permissible as long as it fulfills the pillars and legal conditions of buying and selling, namely clarity of the product, mutual agreement on price, and absence of excessive gharar (uncertainty). According to the school of Imam Malik, this practice is valid if the existing gharar is minor, unavoidable, and conducted with honesty, fairness, and transparency. Therefore, thrifting transactions in Pasar Lasoani can be considered in line with the principles of sharia.

In today's digital era, efficient and accurate inventory management is crucial to support operational effectiveness in business sectors, including retail optics stores. Optik Retna, a retail optical business, previously utilized Microsoft Excel for stock management, which led to various limitations such as restricted multi-user access, risk of data loss, and lack of real-time reporting. To address these challenges, a web-based inventory system was designed and implemented using the Agile methodology. The system was developed using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL, and includes key features such as inventory tracking, expense and return management, transaction recording, sales reporting, and user administration. The implementation results demonstrate that the system enhances work efficiency, simplifies the recording of incoming and outgoing goods, and supports faster and more accurate decision-making at Optik Retna. Therefore, this system provides a practical contribution to the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises in the optical sector.

Law No. 30 of 2000 concerning Trade Secrets is the main legal basis in Indonesia, in line with international agreements such as WTO/TRIPS. This research uses normative juridical methods to analyze trade secret legal protection, including based on property rights theory, contract theory, and tort theory. In addition, the role of employment contract clauses that regulate obligations to maintain confidentiality and prohibitions on working for competing companies after termination are discussed as preventive strategies. This research confirms the importance of awareness and concrete legal steps from business owners to protect their trade secrets effectively.

The demand for goats for religious rituals such as aqiqah and qurban during Eid al-Adha has shown a significant upward trend each year, in line with the growing awareness among Muslims to observe religious practices in accordance with Islamic law. This study aims to explore the strategies employed and the challenges faced by traditional goat farmers in responding to this evolving demand. A descriptive qualitative approach was used, with data collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation. The subject of this study was Mr. Anto, an experienced goat farmer and trader who manages the “Adinda Aqiqah” business in Medan City. The findings reveal that Mr. Anto’s main strategies include stock management through the raising of hundreds of goats of various breeds (Kacang, Etawa, and sheep), the selection of high-productivity superior breeds, and the setting of competitive selling prices for both qurban and aqiqah needs. On the other hand, the primary challenges encountered include limited infrastructure, particularly at sales locations, animal health risks due to adverse weather conditions, and the lack of effectiveness in using social media as a marketing tool to reach a wider consumer base. These findings offer a clear picture of how traditional livestock practices adapt to market demands, while also highlighting the need for improvements in technology, marketing, and policy support to enhance competitiveness in this dynamic, seasonal market.

This research aims to determine whether the budget formulation of the Merah Putih Village Cooperative is in accordance with the norms and statutory regulations as stipulated in Law Number 25 of 1992 concerning Cooperatives, particularly in relation to Article 33 paragraph (4) of the 1945 Constitution, which emphasizes the principle of independence in the national economy. The results of this study focus on optimizing the establishment of the Merah Putih Village Cooperative to support the formation of national-scale cooperatives that function not only as savings and loan institutions driving the economy, but also address the challenges and risks that may arise from the establishment of the Merah Putih Cooperative. First, the issue of economic scale is crucial. Operations at the village level are often limited by available resources and market reach. Second, human resource capacity is a determining factor. The management of funds amounting to IDR 3–5 billion requires financial, business, operational, and marketing management skills that are not always present in every village. Experience with Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) shows that one of their main challenges is finding local residents who are truly skilled managers. Third, elite capture or control by local elites can become a bottleneck. In villages with weak governance, influential figures may abuse their authority to control the cooperative for personal gain. Similar occurrences are often found in grant programs from Ministries/Agencies or the private sector, where key individuals dominate and exploit these resources for their own interests. Fourth, the risk of fraud.

Crypto asset transactions in Indonesia have rapidly developed alongside financial technology advancements, yet they pose legal challenges concerning investor protection. Under Indonesian civil law, civil liability for investor losses may be based on Article 1243 and Article 1365 of the Civil Code, depending on whether the loss arises from a breach of contract or an unlawful act. Additionally, the Consumer Protection Act may serve as a legal basis in cases involving violations of consumer rights. However, the application of such liability encounters juridical obstacles, including the absence of specific regulations defining the legal status of crypto assets as legal objects, regulatory gaps regarding business actors’ obligations, and evidentiary difficulties due to the anonymous nature of digital transactions. In this context, regulatory reform is essential to establish legal certainty and effective investor protection. The regulation should include digital security standards, transparent risk disclosures, and dispute resolution mechanisms. Active roles of Bappebti and the Financial Services Authority (OJK) in oversight, as well as legal literacy for the public, are critical to creating a responsible and secure crypto asset trading ecosystem.
