Contextual interpretation, developed by Abdullah Saeed, is a relevant approach in dealing with societal problems in the 21st century. This method does not only focus on the text of the Qur'anic verse, but also understands the micro, macro, and social development, culture, and circumstances of today. Thus, contextual tafsir can provide alternative solutions to socio-religious problems faced by contemporary society.

This study discusses the interpretation of verses of the Qur'an related to the illegal taking of other people's property, especially in the context of the confiscation of corruptor assets, based on the views of Muhammad Quraish Shihab (Tafsir Al-Misbah), Hamka (Tafsir Al-Azhar), Ibn Kathir (Tafsir al-Qur'an al-'Azhim), and Wahbah Zuhaili (Tafsir al-Munir). This study uses a qualitative method with a library research approach to conceptually examine various things that are correlated with corruption from the perspective of the Qur'an. Therefore, this study is a type of qualitative and thematic research through literature review, namely by writing, reducing, and presenting data and analyzing it, as well as the theory of maqashid sharia and jinayah. The results of the study show that the commentators support the confiscation of corruptors' assets as a legitimate action in Islam, by the principles of maqashid al-syariah, especially the protection of property (hifz al-mal). Quraish Shihab emphasizes the importance of asset confiscation to restore justice and protect society. Hamka sees this action as a just punishment that also restores the rights of society. Ibn Kathir emphasizes that corruption must be punished strictly to prevent greater damage. Wahbah Zuhaili emphasizes the authority of the government in upholding justice and preventing injustice, including through the confiscation of illegal assets. This interpretation provides a strong theological basis for the policy of asset confiscation as part of the enforcement of Islamic law, emphasizing that such action is necessary to maintain balance and stability in society.

This study explores the integration of Islamic epistemology with modern scientific methodologies, proposing a pluralistic epistemic framework that bridges the gap between divine revelation (wahyu), rationality (aql), and empirical knowledge. The research investigates the comparative relationship between traditional Islamic knowledge systems, particularly classical Qur'anic hermeneutics, modern tafsir approaches, and contemporary scientific methods. Traditional Islamic epistemology, grounded in metaphysical and theological frameworks, often emphasizes the separation of spiritual knowledge from empirical science. However, modern scientific methodologies, which prioritize empirical observation and rational inquiry, have created challenges for reconciling Islamic thought with contemporary scientific paradigms. This study identifies common epistemic grounds, such as the use of reason, observation, and the search for truth, as shared goals between Islamic epistemology and modern science. The proposed integrative model of Islamic epistemic pluralism offers a more cohesive and relevant approach to knowledge by acknowledging both spiritual and scientific insights. This model suggests that divine revelation and empirical science can coexist in an inclusive epistemic framework, providing a more comprehensive understanding of reality. The implications of this integrative model for Islamic thought, education, and research are significant, suggesting potential for broader interdisciplinary collaboration and a more holistic approach to addressing modern challenges. The study concludes by calling for further research into practical frameworks for applying Islamic epistemic pluralism across various fields, such as social sciences, engineering, and environmental studies, to contribute to a more inclusive and dynamic global intellectual discourse.

Qur'anic interpretation is an attempt to understand and explain the meanings contained in God's revelation. In this study, the author discusses the application of two main methods in interpreting the Qur'an, namely the mutlaq method and the muqayyad method. The mutlaq method refers to a more general interpretation that is not bound by a specific context, while the muqayyad method leads to an interpretation that depends on the specific context of a particular verse or situation. This study aims to explain the characteristics of the two methods and how they complement each other in understanding the Qur'anic text as a whole. With this approach, it is hoped that readers can gain a deeper understanding of the dynamics of Qur'anic interpretation in a broader context.

The aim of this research is to determine the linguistic aspects of the doomsday phenomenon in al-Qurtubi's view. The research method used in this research is library research. The data source was obtained from primary data sources in the form of the Al-Qurt}ubi interpretation book entitled Al-Jamī' Li Al-Ahkam Al-Qur'ān. And primary data sources come from various related literature in the form of books and journals. Data collection techniques use library and documentation techniques. The aim of this exploration is to recognize the enormous use of representation in the first verse of the Al-Qur'an Surah Ibrahim, especially the words Al-Zhulumat and Al-Nur. The main point is to interpret the task of isti'arah in giving an uncertain meaning to a part which can give rise to various translations. Using a scientific-rational approach, this research method examines the text of the Al-Qur'an through language and literature studies, with a focus on metaphors, especially relevant metaphors. This research approach is qualitative, with data collection using the Library Research method (library research). This investigation also includes interpretive efforts to better understand how isti'arah can be used as a tool of understanding, namely the translation of Fahruddin Al-Razi's Mafatih Al Ghaib. Findings (1). The study involved various translations resulting from the ideas of Intisari and Majaz in the application of isti'arah (2). Fakhruddin Al-Razi underlined that isti'arah helps Muslims understand the Al-Qur'an by explaining the meaning of complex verses, especially the terms Al-Zhulumat and Al-Nur in Surah Ibrahim verse 1. Apart from that, this study also functions as a reminder the idea of content 'direction, which is not mentioned in the language of scholars but is present in the disciplines of tafsir and the Koran. Therefore, this research takes a dogmatic-ideological approach in studying the Koran while allowing for a rational-scientific approach.

This research aims to explore the hermeneutical thought patterns of the Koran; Prof. Sahiron Syamsuddin uses descriptive qualitative methods with literature analysis. The research results show that the ma'na-cum-maghza hermeneutic method developed by Prof. Sahiron Syamsuddin is a development of various previous interpretive theories with no genuinely new elements. The proposed methodology must be more thorough, and the solutions and proposals are still general and ambiguous. Criticism of classical ulama's thinking is more dominant, and the absence of the word "Hermeneutical Tafsir of the Koran" shows that this method is impractical and can only be applied in a limited way. The implication is that this hermeneutics is unsuitable for studying the Koran because it can cause confusion and doubt. This approach is based on an attitude of skepticism and relativism, which places the Koranic text on par with other texts, resulting in uncertainty in meaning and interpretation that is relative and temporary. The use of the ma'na-cum-maghza hermeneutic method can result in the deconstruction of Islamic laws in the Koran and disrupt the structure of Islamic epistemology.

This study examines the semantic dimensions in Buddhist religious texts, focusing on linguistic meaning, symbolism, and interpretation. Applying theoretical frameworks of semantics (lexical semantics, semiotics) and qualitative hermeneutical methodology, this research aims to understand how Buddhist teachings are constructed in texts and interpreted by Buddhist communities. The findings indicate that key texts such as the Sutta Pitaka and Mahāyāna Sūtras contain multiple layers of meaning that depend on cultural context, ritual practices, and teacher interpretations. This research supports the development of interdisciplinary understanding between linguistics, religious studies, and Buddhist practice. The study reveals that meaning in Buddhist texts operates on three distinct levels: literal (vācika), contextual (attha), and spiritual (paramārtha), each requiring different hermeneutical approaches. Symbols such as the lotus and the Dharma wheel function not merely as metaphorical ornaments but as carriers of profound cosmological and soteriological significance
