The experience of losing a parent has an impact on a child's life. When this event occurs, you will experience a feeling of loss which ultimately causes grief. In fact, this event had a physical, emotional and spiritual impact because of the child's grief over the death of his parents. Situations like this ultimately cause trauma to the person, therefore a healing process is needed for people who experience abnormal sadness. The purpose of this article is to describe a trauma-based approach to dealing with abnormal grief in adolescents whose parents have died. This research uses a qualitative literature method with a literature review using a content analysis approach. This study provides insight into the definition of pathological grief and trauma healing. Symptoms of excessive mourning experienced by adolescent children after the death of their parents. And knowledge about how to overcome grief using a trauma healing approach.

This study aims to determine the impact of the Sanggah Sinar program on the recovery of post-rehabilitation clients who have been returned home. Post-rehabilitation clients and even post-rehabilitation client families often experience confusion in maintaining and helping clients maintain their recovery. Real recovery is not when the client is in rehabilitation, but when the client has returned home, and will continue his new life after undergoing the rehabilitation process. This rehabilitation or recovery aims to create a new life for clients, which includes three things, namely: 1) death life or how post-rehabilitation care 2) Hope & Optimism about the future 3) Empowerment. This research technique is a qualitative research methodology that collects data by conducting interviews, observations and documentation. processing data by analyzing data. In maintaining the recovery of clients who have returned home, several actions need to be taken, require care and need to pay attention to several things. Reorientation towards a recovered life is: 1) breaking ties with the drug circle 2) improving relationships with the social environment and people 3) making oneself more productive in everyday life 4) finding valuable values ​​as motivation to recover. 5) creating new coping (strategies) 6) family as the main foundation in recovery 7) building a new identity. The Sanggah Cemerlang program as a program carried out after rehabilitation or post-rehabilitation, has a fairly good impact on post-rehabilitation clients. In accordance with the BNN guidelines on the implementation of post-rehabilitation programs, the Sanggah Cemerlang program is good. and in pastoral counseling services, to deal with the diverse Indonesian society, dealing with post-rehabilitation clients by carrying out an innovative understanding of the spiritual dimension in the paradigm of Christian psychology and religion.

This research is motivated by the leadership of the wife of a pastor whose husband died in continuing the transition of service as pastor of the congregation. After the death of the husband who was the church pastor, the duties and responsibilities of church ministry were automatically assigned to the wife as the continuing pastor. After being approved as continuing pastor, the wife will play a very important role, her role will be the same as the previous pastor, carrying out congregational pastoral services such as pulpit service, embracing, guiding, nurturing, serving and leading as well as building relationships with congregation members and servants. The differences in leadership of wives whose husbands die will be directly visible when carrying out their duties and responsibilities as pastors of the congregation which will have an impact on the effectiveness of the ministry. Therefore this research takes the topic “duties and responsibilitities of a pastor’s wife whose husband dies on the effectiveness of services at the muliorejo gospel spreading church”. With the aim of the research to determine and analyze the transition of duties of a pastor's wife whose husband died on the effectiveness of service at the muliorejo gospel spreading church and to find out and analyze the responsibilities of a pastor's wife whose husband has died regarding the effectiveness of the ministry at the muliorejo gospel spreading church. This research was conducted using descriptive qualitative methods, the data obtained in this research used an interview approach and recorded conversations via cellphone recordings with 12 informants. The conclusion obtained from this research is that there was a change in duties experienced by the wife of a shepherd whose husband died, this change was due to a change in duties with a different position status. From previously only being a companion to her husband who was the pastor of the congregation, she has now become a continuing pastor because of her husband's death. With the task that the mother shepherd received as continuing shepherd at the muliorejo gospel spreading church making him a person who is full of love, has a high caring nature, is firm in leading and practicing a holy life so as to support the effectiveness of ministry in the church. The leadership responsibility of a pastor's wife whose husband has died directly contributes to the effectiveness of the ministry at the muliorejo gospel spreading church. In the context of the existence and function of the church, as well as within the scope of the clergy's duties, the question of ethical and pastoral legitimacy for a pastor to own and manage a business or venture that provides additional income outside the church institution continues to be the subject of ongoing discussion. There are views that are skeptical of this practice, arguing that the position of clergy as business owners can give rise to potential conflicts of interest, where business decisions and activities can potentially conflict with the principles and doctrines of the religion they adhere to. In order to explore this issue further, researchers are interested in conducting a biblical study, with a special focus on Pauline narratives related to this topic. The methodological approach adopted in this research is qualitative, with data collection carried out through extensive literature analysis. The findings of this research indicate that Paul does not seem to oppose the concept of bi-vocationalism. In contrast, the practice of clergy holding secular jobs in addition to their ministry duties may be considered a viable strategy, especially for smaller churches, as a means of supporting the continuity of their ministry.

The purpose of this study was to analyze and evaluate the implementation of pastoral care in the church for congregations grieving due to death, and to understand the extent to which the congregation's understanding of the religious concept of death influences the way pastoral care is implemented and its impact on the grieving process. The research method used was descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation studies. This study also aims to identify practical challenges faced in the implementation of pastoral care, especially in situations of sudden or complex death. The results of the study indicate that pastoral care in GKPPD Lae Salak needs to be improved in terms of the skills and knowledge of pastoral care workers in order to provide more effective support. This study provides benefits by providing input for the church to improve its pastoral care strategy.

The purpose of this study was to examine the factors that influence the lack of Integrity of Elder Service in GKPPD Buluh Tellang. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach method by conducting interviews with elders in GKPPD Buluh Tellang. The results of the study showed that there were two factors influencing elders, namely internal factors and external factors in carrying out service duties in the church, they must have the intention and courage to serve or carry out God's calling so that through the courage of the elders in GKPPD Buluh Tellang they do not forget the eldership received through external factors. pastoral care is very important in increasing the activeness of the elders in carrying out service, so that through interviews that have been conducted by the author that the elders already have an understanding of their goals as elders and with encouragement from external factors the elders carry out their duties and obligations as good servants and are increasing. The conclusion is that it shows that some elders lack confidence in carrying out their duties and responsibilities as servants because there are several things, namely the lack of confidence of the elders in leading worship (not PD), low human resources of the elders, lack of encouragement or motivation and support from the family and the most unpleasant is the political factor.

Abstract: This article discusses two main ethical approaches, namely deontological and teleological in the context of modern pastoral counseling practice. Through conceptual and comparative analysis, this article explores how these two approaches are applied in the moral decisions faced by pastoral counselors when accompanying congregations. This study aims to provide in-depth understanding for pastoral counselors to be able to make ethical decisions that are not only in accordance with moral principles, but also pastorally relevant Keywords: deontological ethics, teleological ethics, pastoral counseling, morality, pastoral theology.

This research aims to develop a family-based marriage catechesis module as a foundation for post-wedding accompaniment of young Catholic couples. Using a qualitative approach with document study, the research identifies five key gaps in Catholic couple accompaniment: discontinuity of pastoral care, non-transformative pedagogical approaches, minimal involvement of experienced families, lack of content contextualization, and weak communal support. In response, a module with spiral structure was developed for continuous accompaniment during the first four years of marriage, integrating theological-spiritual, relational-psychological, social-communal, and practical-contextual dimensions. This module operationalizes the concept of "family as pastoral subject" through a mentoring model where experienced couples accompany newly married couples. Implementation requires systematic selection and formation of mentor couples, balanced accompaniment structures, and adaptive approaches. Integration strategies within parish systems include institutional support, appropriate ecclesiological approaches, a "hub and spoke" model, gradual implementation, and utilization of digital technology. This research offers a more participatory, relational, and contextual approach to marriage pastoral care.

This study aims to explore church strategies in shaping the character of responsible servants and identify the teaching principles of Jesus according to the Gospel of Matthew 5-7 to be adapted in Christian Religious Education. This article uses descriptive qualitative method based on literature review. The results show that effective church strategies involve discipleship, pastoral counselling, fellowship, and Bible-based teaching. In addition, Jesus' teaching principles such as love, prayer, and obedience become the foundation of responsible character building. This study recommends integrating church strategies and Jesus' teaching principles to support the character building of church ministers and PAK students.

Krisis ekologis di Kalimantan Tengah ditandai oleh deforestasi, ekspansi perkebunan monokultur, serta penambangan ilegal yang berdampak serius terhadap lingkungan dan kehidupan masyarakat adat Dayak. Situasi ini menuntut respons yang tidak hanya bersifat teknis, tetapi juga teologis dan kultural. Artikel ini menawarkan pembacaan baru terhadap Handep Hapakat prinsip hidup komunal masyarakat Dayak sebagai praksis ekologi integral dan model ekopastoral kontekstual dalam terang ajaran Gereja Katolik, khususnya ensiklik Laudato Si’. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan orientasi hermeneutika teologis-kultural melalui studi kepustakaan terhadap literatur budaya Dayak, dokumen Gereja, dan kajian ekoteologi kontemporer. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa Handep Hapakat tidak sekadar merupakan konstruksi sosial, melainkan praksis spiritual-ekologis yang menegaskan relasi harmonis antara manusia, komunitas, alam, dan Sang Pencipta. Nilai kebersamaan, tanggung jawab kolektif, dan musyawarah yang terkandung di dalamnya sejalan dengan visi ekologi integral yang menghubungkan dimensi ekologis, sosial, budaya, dan spiritual secara utuh. Artikel ini menegaskan bahwa integrasi Handep Hapakat dalam karya pastoral Gereja memiliki potensi transformatif dalam membangun kesadaran ekologis, memperkuat inkulturasi iman, serta mendorong keterlibatan komunitas dalam merawat rumah bersama secara berkelanjutan.

Disability refers to the limited roles experienced by people with disabilities. In most groups of society, the existence of disabled people is often viewed negatively. Based on the concept of normality, this group of people tends to give a negative stigma to people with disabilities as abnormal or abnormal humans. What people with disabilities experience is considered a curse, a hereditary disease, or even the result of sinful actions. The Catholic Church in its various teachings places disabled people as God's ideal creatures who are equal to other humans. Specifically, in his apostolic exhortation Amoris Latetitia, Pope Francis invites families and Christian communities to accept and respect the rights of people with disabilities. The presence of disabled people should be seen as a gift from God, and the acceptance of families and Christian communities is the work of the Holy Spirit and a testimony of the gift of human life. This research is a descriptive qualitative study which aims to understand and find concrete implementation of the Catholic Church's view of people with disabilities from the perspective of Amoris Laetitia. The research results show that the Catholic church's views in Amoris Laetitia can be the basis for inclusive pastoral care to open up, embrace and involve people with disabilities in all aspects of church life. Forms of inclusive pastoral care that can be carried out include providing education and awareness about disabled people for the church community, providing accessible facilities for disabled people, providing pastoral and spiritual support, and actively involving disabled people in liturgical and other church activities.

Digital communication has become part of the everyday fabric of congregational life. While it enables connection and pastoral accessibility, it also introduces relational tensions through divided attention, interpretive ambiguity, social comparison, online jealousy, concealed messaging, and the weakening of face-to-face reconciliation. This conceptual research article examines pastoral accompaniment for Christian congregants who experience relational crises caused or intensified by digital communication. The study aims to construct a pastoral framework that is theologically grounded, psychologically informed, ethically responsible, and usable in church ministry. Using an integrative literature review, the article synthesizes scholarship on digital religion, computer-mediated communication, relational conflict, phubbing, technoference, online counseling ethics, and practical theology. The synthesis indicates that digital relational crisis should not be reduced to excessive screen use. It is more accurately understood as a crisis of presence, attention, trust, boundaries, and interpretive charity. The article proposes pastoral accompaniment as a hybrid care that combines attentive presence, relational discernment, digital boundary formation, covenantal communication practices, and ethically bounded use of online media. It concludes that churches need to move beyond reactive counseling toward preventive digital discipleship that forms congregants in truthful speech, faithful presence, confidentiality, and relational accountability.

This study aims to explore the role of pastoral care in the recovery of trauma experienced by landslide victim families in Palangka. Pastoral care, which combines spiritual and psychological approaches, is expected to provide holistic support to victim families in their recovery process. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach to analyze the experiences and perceptions of victim families and the pastoral caretakers involved. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that pastoral care plays an important role in providing emotional and spiritual support, strengthening mental resilience, and helping victim families cope with loss and trauma. The spiritual-psychological approach applied by pastoral caretakers helps rebuild hope, reduce stress, and accelerate the healing process. This study highlights the importance of integrating spiritual and psychological support in post-disaster interventions to improve the mental and emotional well-being of victims.    

This study explores the opportunities and threats of implementing artificial intelligence (AI) and chatbots in pastoral church/Christian community counseling. With the rapid progression of technology, AI has the potential to influence various aspects of life, including pastoral counseling. The key opportunities highlighted include improved accessibility of pastoral counseling, consistent support, and advancement in data analysis. However, there are also threats related to AI and chatbot implementation, such as the lack of 'human touch' in counseling, data privacy challenges, and potential misinterpretation by AI. This study provides an overall perspective of AI and chatbots, references several case studies where this technology has been implemented in similar contexts and focuses on potential risks and benefits. The research aims to understand how the future of pastoral counseling could be influenced by AI and chatbot implementation and stimulate dialogue on how the church could respond to this technological development.

Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) has become a significant psychosocial and spiritual concern among congregants whose daily rhythms are shaped by social media visibility, comparison, and constant connectivity. This article examines FoMO as an object of pastoral counseling, not merely as excessive screen use but as a relational and affective pattern in which digital platforms intensify unmet needs for belonging, identity, autonomy, and meaningful participation. The study aims to construct a pastoral counseling approach for congregants who experience anxiety, compulsive checking, social comparison, diminished self-worth, and spiritual distraction because of social media. Methodologically, the article uses a constructive-integrative literature review, synthesizing peer-reviewed research on FoMO, problematic social media use, social comparison, self-determination theory, and spiritually integrated counseling alongside major works in pastoral care and practical theology. The synthesis indicates that FoMO is best understood as a need-frustration cycle that is amplified by passive browsing, online comparison, and algorithmic immediacy. Pastoral counseling can respond constructively through careful assessment, theological reframing of identity and belonging, digital habit formation, communal practices, and referral pathways when psychological risk is present. The article concludes that pastoral counseling is uniquely positioned to transform FoMO from anxious digital vigilance into discernment, embodied community, and spiritually grounded digital wisdom.

The background to writing this thesis was complaints from priests, catechists, and the young generation themselves (OMK) about the lack of knowledge and understanding of the younger generation regarding the value of the responsibilities they carry. The aim of writing this thesis is to help the young generation of Catholics (OMK) understand their duties and responsibilities as members of the Church. Apart from that, this research also aims to help pastors understand and recognize the problems faced by young people. In analyzing the problem, the author uses qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. By using this phenomenological approach, the author tries to analyze and interpret the personal experiences of the informants regarding the importance of the value of youth responsibility in the life of the Rantau Pulut Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish church. Data collection in this research used observation, interview and note-taking techniques. In this research, the author found that the majority of young Catholics in the Rantau Pulut Parish have not fully participated in the life of the Church. This is due to a lack of motivation and encouragement from parents and pastors. As the spearhead of youth mobilization, pastoral workers are an important element in support and guidance so that young people are encouraged to participate in Church activities.

The problems faced by adolescents at home are problems between adolescents and their parents or vice versa, problems between parents and children (teenagers). Parents are examples and role models for children (teenagers). To be an example for children (teenagers) parents must be able to build a harmonious attitude in the family, and instill religious values not only through words but what children (teenagers) need most, namely concrete actions. This research was conducted to observe the life of the church at the Tangkiling Station in the light of the Church as the Mystical Body of Christ. People in the Tagkiling Station are less actively involved in church life. Through this study, it is hoped that the people of Tangkiling station will be able to realize the meaning of themselves as the Church of the Mystical Body of Christ which is realized in the life of church. The method used in this research is qualitative method with data collection technique in the form of literature study, observation, front of interview and documentation. The research steps include conservations with informants, informant profiles, theme determination, reflection, implications, syhthesis, prospects or possibilities that will occur. The results show that the people at Tangkiling Stastion have a good church life and it is in accordance with the Church as the Mystical Body of Christ but they do not understand deeply about the meaning of the Church as the Mystical Body of Christ because it has never been given a prior understanding. The inhibiting factors for civic engagement are the lack of people understanding about the meaning of the Church as the Mystical Body of Christ, occupation, transportation and distance and dissent. So the pastoral step that is expected to be able to answer the problem is by conducting continuous catechesis, active involment of pastoral partners anda approaches through visits.
