This study explores the development of integrated language skills assessment instruments for Korean as a foreign language (KFL) learners in higher education, addressing the need for tools that reflect real-world communicative demands. Grounded in theoretical frameworks such as Bachman and Palmer's Communicative Language Ability model[1] and Vygotsky's Sociocultural Theory[2], the research employed a mixed-methods approach, including needs analysis[6], corpus studies, and pilot testing. The research process involved three primary phases: First, a comprehensive needs analysis was conducted among KFL instructors and students to identify assessment gaps and priorities. Second, authentic Korean language materials were collected to create a corpus that informed the development of contextualized assessment tasks. Finally, the instruments underwent rigorous pilot testing with 127 KFL students across three Indonesian universities. The developed assessment instruments integrate reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills through task-based scenarios that mirror authentic Korean language use contexts. These include collaborative problem-solving activities, multimedia-based comprehension tasks, and culturally situated role-plays. Statistical analysis demonstrated high inter-rater reliability (r=0.87) and construct validity when compared with established Korean proficiency measures. Results demonstrated the instruments' reliability, validity, and cultural relevance, fostering holistic skill development and promoting positive washback on teaching and learning practices. Implementation of these instruments led to significant improvements in students' integrated language performance and motivation. The study contributes to the field of Korean language assessment by providing empirically validated tools that bridge classroom learning with real-world language application in higher education contexts.

This study examines the implementation of Arabic language learning based on the Qur'an at Mushollah Zubhatul Hasan, focusing on the sorogan and talaqqi methods. The sorogan method allows students to read directly in front of their teacher, receiving guidance on pronunciation, meaning, and sentence structure. This individual approach provides a more personalized learning experience, enabling students to receive immediate corrections. Meanwhile, the talaqqi method emphasizes listening and repeating the teacher’s recitation collectively, improving fluency, tajwid accuracy, and linguistic comprehension. Additionally, the practice of daily Arabic conversations in the Mushollah environment plays a crucial role in reinforcing language acquisition. Initially, students faced challenges in speaking Arabic, but continuous practice helped them develop confidence and fluency. This immersive approach allows students not only to learn Arabic theoretically but also to internalize it through practical use. The findings highlight that combining sorogan, talaqqi, and Arabic-speaking habits effectively enhances students’ Arabic proficiency, both in understanding Qur'anic texts and applying the language in daily interactions. This study underscores the importance of integrating structured teaching methods with real-life practice to achieve comprehensive Arabic language mastery in a religious learning setting.

One type of communication that is often used is interpersonal communication, because it is done face-to-face directly and using smartphones that are considered effective for persuading others, as well as carried out by caregivers at the An-Nur Women's Charity Home. This research aims to find out how to apply the elements of interpersonal communication media used, how to achieve the goals of interpersonal communication, and the driving and inhibiting factors of interpersonal communication. Methods used in this study include qualitative research with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation from various informants. The results of the analysis show that the interpersonal communication process provided by caregivers includes material about religion, education, guidance, reprimands, advice, questions, storytelling, motivation, and solutions. Additionally, there is a closeness in interpersonal communication between caregivers and children, formed through listening, opening up to each other, sharing stories, understanding messages, and making caregivers both friends and parents. Empathetic, consistent, and attentive communication from the caregiver significantly contributes to the formation of self-confidence, social skills, independence, and responsibility in foster children. Furthermore, a caregiver with strong interpersonal relationships creates a comfortable and supportive environment for children to develop optimally. Open and supportive interpersonal communication helps the child feel valued, heard, and cared for, which contributes to the development of foster children in line with expectations.
