Public relations in schools plays a crucial role in building effective communication between the school and the community. Its primary functions include disseminating information, building a positive image, and establishing cooperation with external parties. This study aims to assess the implementation of the Public Relations function as a functional position in improving public communication at SDN Sempusari 01 Jember. The approach used was descriptive qualitative with data collection through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results indicate that although the Public Relations function has been implemented, its implementation is still not optimal. Communication activities such as publications and community engagement have been carried out, but are not well structured. The main obstacle lies in the lack of functional staff and understanding of the role of public relations. Therefore, improving the competence of teaching staff is necessary for a more optimal role of Public Relations in strengthening public communication in elementary schools.

Low nutritional awareness and high consumption of unhealthy snacks remain critical issues among elementary school children, potentially affecting their growth and academic performance. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a nutrition education intervention using poster media and paper-based quizzes in improving nutritional awareness among fourth to sixth grade students. The community service activity was conducted by Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) students as part of the Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) program in three elementary schools SD Negeri 1, 2, and 3 Kalirancang, Kebumen Regency. A descriptive-evaluative approach was employed through participatory engagement using simple, low-tech educational media to address technological limitations in the school environment. Data were collected from quiz score analyses and participatory observations during the intervention. The results showed a high participation rate (80–90%) and a substantial improvement in students’ cognitive understanding of nutrition, as indicated by the majority of correct quiz responses. However, behavioral observation revealed a noticeable gap between knowledge and practice, as many students continued to consume unhealthy snacks during school breaks. It can be concluded that poster and quiz-based interventions are effective in enhancing students’ nutritional knowledge but are insufficient to alter behavior without supportive environmental and policy interventions at the school level.

Pantomime arts development in elementary schools plays a crucial role in fostering students' creativity, self-confidence, and expressive abilities. This study examines the transformation of pantomime development at SDN 1 Beureunuen, a school that hosts the National Student Arts Festival and Competition (FLS3N) in Mutiara Timur District, Pidie Regency. Using an active qualitative approach through participant observation, informal interviews, and documentation of participant development from 2019 to 2025, this study examines how creative pedagogy practices, constructivist approaches, and strengthening cultural identity are applied in the development process. The results show a significant increase in school participation in pantomime competitions, from only three groups in 2019 to twelve groups in 2025.
