This study aims to examine the strengthening of school literacy culture through the establishment of a Literacy Corner at SMPN 4 Mangarabombang as a strategy to enhance students’ reading interest and engagement in literacy activities. The research problem arises from students’ low reading intensity and the limited availability of literacy-supporting facilities at school. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, utilizing observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. The findings indicate that the Literacy Corner significantly improves students’ access to reading materials, fosters more consistent reading habits, and creates a more conducive learning environment. Moreover, the involvement of teachers and students in managing the Literacy Corner strengthens their sense of ownership and increases active participation in school literacy activities. By facilitating a space dedicated to reading, the initiative addresses the challenges related to the scarcity of resources and encourages students to make reading a regular activity. Teachers also reported increased student motivation and engagement in literacy programs, which translates into greater academic performance. These results highlight that establishing a Literacy Corner is an effective and strategic approach to reinforcing school literacy culture. Furthermore, it can serve as a model for other schools aiming to enhance their literacy programs and improve student engagement in reading activities.

The increasing integration of digital technology into the daily lives of Generation Alpha has contributed to reduced physical activity, highlighting the need to understand the factors shaping children’s movement behaviors. This study employed a quantitative correlational approach to examine the relationship between parental educational background and the physical activity levels of students aged 13–15 at SMP 1 Waru Sidoarjo. Data were collected through a parental education questionnaire and the PAQ-C instrument, which assesses children’s physical activity over the past seven days. A total of 45 respondents participated, and the data were analyzed using Pearson or Spearman correlation tests, depending on distribution. The findings revealed a positive and statistically significant—though weak—association between parental education and children’s physical activity levels. Parents with higher education tend to promote more active lifestyles by regulating screen time, providing access to sports facilities, and modeling healthy behaviors. These results underscore the essential role of families in developing healthy routines among Generation Alpha and the need for educational initiatives to enhance parental awareness of physical activity in an increasingly digital environment.

This community service program aims to improve teachers' competency in developing short story writing assessment instruments. This is crucial to ensure objective assessments for all students. This community service program contributes to the Indonesian language curriculum, particularly the short story writing curriculum. This community service program was conducted at Urumb State Junior High School in Merauke, with eight teachers participating. The school faced challenges in assessing the lack of objectivity, specifically the use of assessment instruments that align with the learning objectives. Furthermore, students' short story writing skills were still very low. This community service program enabled teachers to develop valid and reliable short story writing assessment instruments. The program took the form of a workshop, which included outreach through training, mentoring, and discussions with the implementation team. During the training phase, the implementation team provided students with an initial understanding of the importance of objective assessment. The implementation of the eighth-grade Christian Religious Education teaching module on the topic "Love as the Foundation of a Believer's Life" was carried out as an effort to provide an active, reflective, and contextual learning process in accordance with the principles of the Independent Curriculum. Learning is designed through an interactive approach with discussion activities, analysis of biblical texts, case studies, problem-solving, and personal reflection that provide opportunities for students to construct understanding independently. Through these activities, students are guided to understand the concept of agape love as sincere love, giving without expecting anything in return, and is manifested in concrete actions towards others. The implementation results show that this teaching module is able to improve students' conceptual understanding of the meaning of love from a biblical perspective and its relevance in modern life. Students appear to be increasingly confident in expressing opinions, are able to work together in groups, and are actively involved in learning activities. In addition, the emergence of attitudes of empathy, tolerance, and habits of helping each other are indicators that the value of love is not only understood cognitively, but also internalized in behavior. This teaching module also contributes to improving students' critical thinking skills and spirituality through reflection activities that invite them to evaluate acts of love in daily life at school, family, and society.

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Jakarta Smart Card Plus (KJP Plus) Program at the Junior High School (SMP) level in South Jakarta in 2024. The program is an initiative by the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta to ensure access to education for underprivileged families. This research employs Sutrisno’s (2007) program effectiveness theory, which includes five key indicators: program understanding, target accuracy, timeliness, goal achievement, and real change. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques including interviews, observations, and documentation involving informants from the South Jakarta Region I Education Sub-Department, school principals, students, and parents of KJP Plus beneficiaries. The results of the study indicate: (1) Understanding of the program is still uneven, particularly among parents who lack knowledge about the mechanism and use of KJP Plus; (2) Target accuracy is not optimal, as some recipients are economically capable, such as those who own cars or fall into higher welfare deciles; (3) The timeliness of fund distribution is generally good, although there are still some administrative delays; (4) Goal achievement is evident through reduced school dropout rates and increased educational participation, but not evenly across all areas; and (5) Real change is felt by most beneficiaries through easier access to education and provision of school supplies, although misuse of funds for non-educational purposes is still present. Overall, the effectiveness of the KJP Plus program at the SMP level in South Jakarta is deemed suboptimal, highlighting the need for improved data accuracy, stricter fund usage monitoring, and broader program socialization.

The mathematics learning outcomes of students at SMP Negeri 3 Bontang on Rational Numbers are still relatively low. Data from the 2019 National Examination (UN) shows an average math score of 46.43, which is in the "poor" category. Summative assessment results indicate that most students have not yet achieved the Learning Objective Achievement Criteria (KKTP). This situation indicates that the learning process tends to be conventional and lacks active student engagement. Therefore, a more innovative learning model is needed, one of which is the Team Games Tournament (TGT), which combines group work, competition, and educational games. This study aims to determine the effect of the TGT learning model on the mathematics learning outcomes of seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 3 Bontang in the topic of Rational Numbers. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental type and a Posttest-Only Control Group Design. The study population was 203 seventh-grade students in the 2024/2025 academic year, with a sample consisting of class VII A as the experimental group (33 students) and class VII F as the control group (34 students), selected through a purposive sampling technique. The research instrument was a five-item essay test. The analysis results showed that the average posttest of the experimental group was 67.848, higher than the control group at 61.794. The Independent Sample t-Test produced a significance value of 0.031 <0.05, so H₀ was rejected. This indicates that the Team Games Tournament (TGT) learning model has a significant effect on improving students' mathematics learning outcomes in the Rational Numbers material.
