This research examines the role of Pura Siwa Jagat Karana as the orientation center of the Balinese Hindu community in Ternate City, functioning not only as a place of worship but also as a hub for social and cultural activities. The study aims to describe the role of Pura Siwa Jagat Karana in the religious, social, and cultural life of the Balinese Hindu community and to analyze the challenges faced in sustaining its existence within a multicultural society. The research employs Emile Durkheim’s Structural Functionalism theory, emphasizing the role of religious institutions in maintaining social integration. A qualitative approach was applied, using observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that Pura Siwa Jagat Karana functions as a spiritual center, a medium for preserving Balinese culture, and a means of strengthening solidarity and identity of the Balinese Hindu community. Nevertheless, the temple faces several challenges, including limited accessibility for worshippers, changes in management, insufficient ritual facilities, dynamics in priest leadership, and constrained resources. Despite these obstacles, the temple continues to serve as a symbol of harmony and a space for interfaith dialogue that fosters peace in the heterogeneous society of Ternate.

Mosques play a strategic role as centers of worship and community development at the local level, serving not only as places of worship but also as spaces for non-formal religious education. However, many rural mosques are experiencing declining functionality due to limited facilities, human resources, and a lack of sustainable programs. This condition is evident in the Al-Karomah Mosque in Kalibundar Hamlet, where religious activities have declined due to the lack of sustainability of the Al-Qur'an Education Park (TPA) program. This community service activity aims to revitalize the function of the mosque by strengthening the TPA by emphasizing the instilling of religious moderation values and increasing community participation. The method used is Participatory Action Research (PAR) involving mosque administrators, TPA teachers, community leaders, and parents of students through observation, interviews, and documentation of activities. The program implemented includes improving TPA management, teacher training, developing a simple curriculum based on religious moderation, and reactivating Quran recitation activities and habituating worship. The results of the activity indicate an increase in interest in learning the Quran, strengthening the values of tolerance and togetherness, increasing community participation, and growing awareness of the importance of religious moderation. Thus, revitalizing prayer rooms through strengthening TPA is effective in strengthening religiosity while building social harmony based on religious moderation. This study aims to determine the opinions of two central figures in the GPKB structure, namely Ephorus and Head of Department Marturia, regarding the role and function of the choir in the liturgy. The background of this study is based on the observation that in many worship practices within the GPKB environment, the choir is often considered only an aesthetic complement, without considering the theological and liturgical meaning that should accompany it. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were obtained through in-depth interviews with key informants, direct observation of liturgical implementation, and a review of church documents such as the Order of Worship. Analysis was carried out carefully to explore the perceptions, expectations, and direction of church policy regarding choir ministry. The results show that both Ephorus and Head of Department Marturia view the choir as a liturgical servant on a par with servants of the word. They emphasize that the choir must be a means of proclaiming the word through theologically and contextually weighty music. However, they also acknowledge that implementation at the congregation level is not yet consistent, and guidance for the choir is still minimal in the liturgical and spiritual aspects.

Church discipleship is a concrete manifestation of the shepherd's primary role and responsibility within the life of the church. A shepherd is not merely a preacher or worship leader, but a spiritual mentor committed to guiding the congregation toward spiritual maturity. This discipleship process involves various aspects such as deep biblical teaching, personal and communal pastoral care, and continuous discipleship. The main goal is for the congregation to move beyond superficial faith and grow into Christ-like individuals in character, knowledge, and action. This article explores biblical and theological principles of church discipleship and how the shepherd's role must be contextualized to meet the challenges of the present age and the needs of the people. In a world that is constantly changing and spiritually challenging, effective discipleship becomes crucial for the church to remain relevant and spiritually strong. This study affirms that spiritual maturity cannot be achieved instantly, but through a purposeful, consistent process rooted in love and the truth of God's Word. Therefore, discipleship must be a pastoral priority to build a mature, strong, and impactful church.

Digital books are a transformation from printed books into digital media that can be accessed through devices such as computers, tablets, or smartphones. Digital books not only display text but can also contain multimedia elements such as images, audio, video, animations, and interactive quizzes. This makes the learning process more engaging and less monotonous. In the context of learning Hajj and Umrah material, digital books can display simulations of Hajj rituals, videos of worship in the Holy Land, and maps of Hajj and Umrah journeys, all of which can strengthen students' understanding. This study aims to explore the use of digital books as a learning medium for Islamic Religious Education (PAI) on Hajj and Umrah material at the Junior High School (SMP) level. Digital books are considered capable of overcoming the limitations of conventional learning media, which are static and less interactive. By utilizing multimedia elements such as manasik simulations, videos, prayer audio, interactive maps, and educational quizzes and games, digital books provide a more contextual, visual, and enjoyable learning experience. In addition, advantages in terms of accessibility, portability, and the ability to be adapted to students' learning styles make digital books relevant to the demands of 21st-century learning. The implementation of digital textbooks in learning was carried out through online, face-to-face, and blended learning models. Effectiveness evaluations included improvements in students' conceptual understanding, learning motivation, and digital skills. The study results indicate that digital textbooks play a significant role in improving the quality of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning, particularly on the topics of Hajj and Umrah, and supporting digital transformation in education.

Business expansion is a strategic step undertaken by companies to increase profitability while broadening their market reach. Hoka Hoka Bento (HokBen) is one of the companies that consistently implements this strategy. This study aims to identify potential locations for new HokBen outlets in Depok City by utilizing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and spatial analysis. Several parameters were considered, including proximity to commercial and entertainment centers, competitors, educational facilities, public facilities, road networks, population density, banking services, hotels, offices, residential areas, hospitals, existing stores, and places of worship. The analysis was conducted using Euclidean Distance, Buffering, Reclassification, and the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) to determine the priority weights of each criterion. These weights were then integrated through the Weighted Overlay technique to produce a location suitability map. The findings reveal that the most influential factors are commercial and entertainment buildings (0.101), road networks (0.099), and educational facilities (0.092). The resulting suitability map highlights potential areas across Depok City, particularly in zones close to community activity centers. The results demonstrate that GIS-based multicriteria analysis is effective for mapping location suitability and identifying strategic zones for expansion. Therefore, this research contributes to supporting the company’s strategic decision-making through data-driven approaches while also enriching the academic field of business geography and urban planning. In addition, the outcomes can be applied as a reference model for other fast-food chains or retail industries planning spatially optimized expansion strategies in highly competitive urban environments.

The phenomenon of poor emotional management among students, such as irritability, low empathy, and lack of cooperation skills, poses a challenge in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning. This study aims to examine the dimensions of students’ emotional intelligence in the context of PAI learning based on the theories of Daniel Goleman and Salovey-Mayer. Using a literature review approach and qualitative content analysis, this research explores various theories, empirical research findings, and expert opinions derived from relevant journals, books, and scholarly works. The results indicate that emotional intelligence plays a crucial role in the success of PAI learning, particularly in shaping students’ character, Islamic morals, and social skills. Goleman’s theory, which emphasizes five main dimensions self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills can be integrated with the Salovey-Mayer model, which outlines the abilities of perceiving, understanding, and managing emotions cognitively. These dimensions can be synergistically implemented in the PAI learning process to achieve holistic Islamic education goals. In this context, PAI learning is not only oriented toward the transfer of religious knowledge but also toward the formation of an Islamic personality through the integration of emotional management with Islamic values. Teachers, as uswah hasanah (exemplary role models), play a vital role in demonstrating emotional management aligned with Islamic teachings, guiding students through the habituation of Islamic behavior, and providing direction that encourages discipline in worship. A comprehensive understanding of Islam, combined with emotional management skills, shapes students who are not only intellectually intelligent but also emotionally and spiritually mature.

Waste management has become an increasingly complex environmental issue, particularly in urban areas and densely populated settlements. The lack of public awareness in disposing of waste properly has caused numerous negative impacts, including soil and water pollution, flooding due to clogged drainage systems, reduced environmental aesthetics, and the spread of infectious diseases. These conditions indicate that the waste problem is not merely a technical issue of collection and disposal, but also strongly related to people’s behavior and environmental awareness. Therefore, a simple, practical, and effective approach is required to encourage behavioral change in daily life. One alternative solution is through visual education by using waste signboards that display educational and persuasive messages. These signboards are installed in strategic locations to serve as direct reminders for residents to care more about environmental cleanliness. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of waste education signboards in improving community understanding and discipline in waste disposal practices. The methods applied included counseling sessions, participatory discussions with residents, designing communicative and attractive signboards, and installing them in high-traffic areas such as main roads, schools, worship places, and public spaces. The results of the activity indicated an increase in public knowledge regarding the impacts of waste, active participation in maintaining cleanliness, and a significant reduction in littering behavior around the areas where the signboards were installed. Furthermore, residents gave positive feedback and expressed their willingness to expand the initiative by adding more signboards in other locations as part of sustainable action. In conclusion, educational signboards proved to be an effective, low-cost, and practical medium to raise community awareness. Beyond delivering environmental messages, the signboards also helped strengthen collective commitment among residents to create a clean, healthy, and sustainable living environment.
