The young generation has a strategic role in social development, especially in strengthening leadership values and national character. However, in this modern era many young people have experienced a decline in the spirit of mutual cooperation, social care, and responsibility for the community environment. Based on these conditions, this community service activity was carried out with the aim of fostering the leadership character of the younger generation through the Karang Taruna organisation in Kadipaten Village, Andong District, Boyolali Regency. The activity methods used include interactive lectures, group discussions, leadership simulations, and value reflections with a participatory approach. This activity was attended by 25 Karang Taruna members and was held for two days. Evaluation was conducted through observation, questionnaires, and interviews to measure the improvement of participants' understanding, attitudes, and leadership behaviour. The results of the activities showed a significant increase in the participants' understanding of leadership concepts, communication skills, teamwork, and sense of social responsibility. Participants also began to show initiative in designing and implementing social programmes in the village. In addition, this activity strengthens the role of Karang Taruna as a forum for character and leadership development at the village level. In conclusion, leadership character development through educative and participatory approaches has proven to be effective in developing youth leadership with integrity, visionary, and orientated towards social values. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the low participation of Catholic Youth in spiritual activities at St. Mikhael Kotabaru Parish. The research used a qualitative approach with a descriptive design to obtain an in-depth understanding of the phenomenon. Research subjects consisted of one Catholic Youth coordinator and six members selected purposively to represent diverse perspectives. Data collection techniques included unstructured interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The data were then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which involves data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the low participation of Catholic Youth is influenced by both internal and external factors. Internal factors include low motivation, shyness, lack of self-confidence, unstable physical conditions, and the excessive use of social media, which often distracts youth from engaging in church life. Meanwhile, external factors consist of economic limitations, heavy school and work commitments, insufficient mentoring from religious leaders, negative peer influence, and minimal family support. These challenges collectively contribute to the declining interest and active involvement of Catholic Youth in spiritual activities. This research highlights the urgency of creating innovative spiritual activity programs that are more attractive and relevant to the needs of young people in the current era. In addition, optimizing mentoring and guidance from parish leaders, parents, and peers is crucial to strengthen motivation and a sense of belonging among Catholic Youth. By addressing both internal and external factors simultaneously, the church community can foster a more participative and dynamic youth movement. Therefore, strategic collaboration among religious leaders, families, and the youth themselves is essential in revitalizing Catholic Youth participation in church life.

Marriage preparation courses have become increasingly important for couples who wish to build a strong foundation for their relationships. These courses provide couples with the tools to understand and navigate their roles and responsibilities in a marriage. For Catholic couples, attending marriage preparation courses is seen as an essential step in preparing for a lifelong commitment, in accordance with the teachings of the Catholic Church. According to John Paul II (1981) in Familiaris Consortio, a document that outlines the duties and responsibilities of families, the preparation for marriage should be holistic, addressing not only the emotional and social aspects but also the spiritual and theological dimensions of family life. This study specifically aims to explore the meaning and impact of marriage preparation courses on the happiness of Catholic families at the St. Paul Beganding station. Using a qualitative approach, the research employed a combination of observation, interviews, and documentation techniques to gather data. The study involved 12 informants, including five married couples who had attended marriage preparation courses, one Porhanger (a community leader), and one parish priest under the St. Peter and Paul Kabanjahe parish. The findings reveal that marriage preparation courses had a significant and positive effect on the happiness of Catholic families, particularly those at the St. Paul Beganding station. The course content provided couples with a deeper understanding of their roles and duties as spouses and parents, allowing them to build stronger, more resilient relationships. Participants expressed that the courses helped them address challenges more effectively and fostered a greater sense of commitment and mutual respect. This, in turn, contributed to the overall happiness of their families. Couples who had attended the course reported stronger emotional and spiritual connections, further emphasizing the importance of comprehensive marriage preparation for long-term marital success.

Human philosophy is one of the branches of philosophy that explores the essence of human beings, their existence, the values inherent within them, and their relationship with the surrounding environment. In Indonesia, the study of philosophy is often perceived as an abstract subject, distant from everyday life. However, when students are introduced to various cross-cultural philosophical perspectives, a new awareness emerges about what it truly means to be human in a richer and more reflective sense. This study employs a qualitative approach to provide contextual and narrative understanding of students’ experiences in learning human philosophy from diverse cultural and global perspectives. In-depth interviews were conducted with 24 students who had taken the human philosophy course, and the data were analyzed using content analysis to identify key emerging themes. The findings revealed six major themes: developing critical and reflective thinking, understanding cultural diversity, strengthening ethics and morality, increasing self-awareness, making decisions through philosophical perspectives, and fostering tolerance and appreciation for differences. These findings highlight that the study of human philosophy is not only academically relevant but also transformative in shaping students’ character and global awareness. Therefore, it is recommended that human philosophy be taught using a multicultural and global approach, rather than being limited to a single cultural perspective.

The findings of this study reveal that the GoFood advertisement titled “Breaking News” and the GrabFood advertisement “Hematematika” serve not only as promotional tools but also as media that shape consumer mindsets and behavior. Both advertisements strategically employ language, narrative, and structure to highlight the ideas of efficiency and modernity, which align with the demands of contemporary digital society. The GoFood advertisement presents a serious narrative that emphasizes economic issues, while GrabFood adopts a humorous approach and wordplay to establish a lighter and more entertaining connection with the audience. This analysis was conducted using a descriptive qualitative approach by examining video advertisements on YouTube, with a particular focus on persuasive language and visual representation. In this sense, advertisements are understood not merely as marketing strategies, but as communicative practices embedded with ideology. Through the messages they convey, the ads promote values of efficiency, frugality, and modernity, which ultimately influence the construction of consumer identity and behavior. The study applies Norman Fairclough’s Critical Discourse Analysis framework, which consists of textual analysis, discursive practice, and socio-cultural context. This approach allows researchers to explore how language in advertisements contributes to the construction of social reality, communicates particular perspectives, and encourages audiences to respond actively.

The findings of this study indicate that work environment, job satisfaction, and motivation simultaneously have a significant effect on the commitment of teachers and staff at Petukangan Selatan 01 Public Elementary School. This shows that a conducive work environment, such as adequate facilities, supportive colleagues, and a comfortable atmosphere, can increase the sense of belonging and loyalty among employees. Job satisfaction, which includes aspects such as fairness in rewards, recognition of achievements, and appropriate workloads, also contributes to strengthening work commitment. In addition, motivation, both intrinsic and extrinsic, plays a central role in encouraging employees to perform their duties with responsibility and enthusiasm. These findings also reinforce the importance of creating a balance between external factors (such as work environment) and internal factors (such as motivation and job satisfaction) to achieve strong commitment. Therefore, the implication of this research is that school management needs to continuously improve working conditions, develop fair reward systems, and provide opportunities for career development. By doing so, the commitment of teachers and staff can be maintained and even enhanced, which in turn will support the achievement of school goals more effectively.

This research will analyze the increase in judges' salaries and its impact on fair decisions for justice seekers. Furthermore, it also aims to analyze what aspects need to be considered to achieve the ideal goal of the criminal justice process so that judges' decisions can fulfill a sense of justice. The method used in this study is the normative juridical writing method using secondary data obtained through literature study. The results of the study indicate that with an adequate salary increase, judges can focus more on their duties to provide fair decisions and are not tempted by external factors that can affect their independence. In addition, there are several aspects that need to be considered so that the criminal justice process can produce decisions that fulfill a sense of justice, including decisions must be based on the principle of substantive justice, namely justice that considers the material aspects of the case, not just formal procedures. Then there is also consistent application of the law, transparency and accountability. And no less important is respect for human rights. Thus, increasing judges' salaries can be one effort to improve the quality of law enforcement and justice in Indonesia.

Social media has transformed communication patterns, with TikTok emerging as a platform where interactions are highly expressive and multimodal. This study examines the role of emojis as politeness strategies in the comments section of TikTok influencers, focusing on how these visual symbols help maintain harmonious digital communication. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the researchers analyzed 20 emoji-containing comments from a high-engagement influencer video. The data were interpreted through Brown and Levinson’s (1987) politeness theory, supplemented by the concept of multimodality. The findings indicate that emojis significantly support both positive and negative politeness strategies. Positive politeness was dominant (around 70%), often realized through empathy, humor, and solidarity-building emojis, while negative politeness was achieved through hedging, apologies, and respectful cues. Emojis also frequently softened bald-on-record statements and enabled off-record indirectness. The study concludes that emojis are crucial in enhancing politeness, enriching emotional expression, and fostering a sense of community in TikTok interactions, highlighting their importance in the evolving landscape of digital sociolinguistics.

Indonesia, as an archipelagic country, has vast potential in marine resources; however, the welfare of poor fishing communities remains far from satisfactory due to various economic and social limitations. This study aims to analyze the economic and social needs of poor fishermen who face challenges such as low income, limited access to education and healthcare, and dependence on middlemen. The research was conducted in Paluh Sibaji Village, Pantai Labu Subdistrict, Deli Serdang Regency. The key informant was the Head of Paluh Sibaji Village, with three poor fishermen serving as main informants and fishermen’s families as additional informants. Data collection was carried out through literature review and field studies, including observation, interviews, and documentation. The data obtained in the field were then qualitatively analyzed until conclusions could be drawn. Based on the findings, the living conditions of poor fishermen in Paluh Sibaji Village reveal ongoing multidimensional economic and social needs. Referring to Sukirno’s (2005) theory of economic needs, it is evident that low per capita income, limited employment opportunities, unequal income distribution, and inadequate economic infrastructure persist. An analysis based on Abraham Maslow’s (1943) theory of social needs indicates that poor fishermen in Paluh Sibaji experience a sense of belonging and social bonds, love and affection, as well as social interactions within the community, although these remain limited and not yet optimal.

This study aims to determine the influence of Organizational Culture (X1), Work Climate (X2), and Work Discipline (X3) on Employee Job Satisfaction (Y) at a company with 52 employees as respondents. The sampling technique used was non-probability sampling with a saturated sample method, meaning all members of the population were included in the sample. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire based on a Likert scale and then analyzed using SPSS version 25. The research employed a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression analysis to examine the relationships between the variables. The results showed that both organizational culture and work discipline had a significant and positive effect on employee job satisfaction. A strong organizational culture contributes to a shared vision, values, and sense of belonging, which enhances job satisfaction. Work discipline, on the other hand, ensures employees meet performance expectations and follow organizational rules, which promotes a stable and productive work environment. Although the work climate variable did not show as strong an influence as the other two, it still plays an important role in shaping employee perceptions and comfort in the workplace. Overall, the findings suggest that improving organizational culture and reinforcing work discipline are effective strategies for enhancing employee job satisfaction, while maintaining a supportive work climate can further support this effort.

The spirituality of today’s church youth encounters multidimensional challenges, particularly the pervasive influence of digital culture, the gradual decline in interest toward spiritual disciplines, and the weakening of involvement in ecclesial ministry. Such dynamics often create a gap between theological knowledge and lived faith experiences. This Community Service (PkM) initiative was designed to respond to these issues by implementing an interactive model aimed at enhancing the spiritual understanding of the youth at GKSI Trimorejo Congregation. The model emphasizes participatory learning processes, in which youth are not merely passive recipients of teaching but active contributors to collective faith formation. The methodological framework consisted of three main stages: initial observation to identify needs and spiritual conditions; preparation of training modules contextualized with the congregation’s realities; and the implementation of interactive activities such as group discussions, thematic Bible studies, role-play, and collective reflection. Evaluation strategies integrated both quantitative and qualitative approaches, including pre-tests and post-tests to measure cognitive growth, alongside participatory interviews to capture experiential insights. The findings reveal a notable increase in youth comprehension of biblical principles, heightened enthusiasm and participation in church programs, and the establishment of a more cohesive spiritual learning community. Furthermore, the process encouraged a deeper sense of belonging and responsibility among the participants toward their ecclesial environment. In conclusion, the interactive model demonstrates significant effectiveness in fostering youth spirituality and may serve as a viable alternative strategy for churches encountering similar challenges within contemporary contexts of ministry.
