The drainage channel located on Jalan Ketintang, Gayungan District, Surabaya, East Java, is influenced by geographical conditions, vulnerable to damage due to landslides and flooding. Along with the presence of quite high rainfall during the wet months (October - January), the problem of inundation in the form of flooding always arises in the area. To minimize flooding, it is necessary to repair the channel (capacity) periodically at certain periods. In the period of August - December 2022, channel repairs were carried out by installing a fabricated rectangular channel using U/DITCH 150/150. The purpose of this thesis is to determine the value of the design flood discharge (Q) and obtain the value of the channel dimensions that can accommodate the design flood discharge at a return period of 5 years and 10 years. The analysis in this thesis is in the form of obtaining rainfall data at 3 (three) rainfall stations, namely Perak 1, Perak 2 and Juanda rainfall stations, rainfall data using 2008 – 2022 (15 years) data, calculation of planned discharge using the Log Pearson Type III method, rainfall data testing using the Smirnov Kolmogorof, rainfall intensity using the Mononobe model, and calculation of designed flood discharge using the Nakayasu Synthetic Unit Hydrograph. The results of the analysis show that the design flood discharge obtained is 17.1 m3⁄s (10-year return period) and the dimensions of the planned channel are a square channel measuring 1,325 m x 1,325 m. This is in accordance with the capacity of the 150/150 U/Ditch channel installed along 945 meters which can minimize the occurrence of inundation/flooding/overflow of channels in the area because the channel has been repaired and the capacity is enlarged

This study examines plant water requirement management in urban farming using an automatic drip irrigation system. The system consists of 20 reused 1.5-liter bottles as water reservoirs and 20 emitters as drip control valves. The experiment was conducted on two planting beds, namely basil and mustard greens, with drip settings of 60, 125, and 180 drops. Before operation, calibration and correction factors were applied to ensure that the design discharge matched field conditions. The objective of this study was to determine the drip irrigation layout model and plant water requirements over 37 days. The layout used a parallel arrangement of three rows of plants with two rows of irrigation devices placed between them. Water demand was calculated using the radiation method based on daily evapotranspiration (ETo), considering latitude, altitude, temperature, wind speed, and relative humidity data. The results showed that ETo ranged from 8.51 to 8.84 mm/day, equivalent to 38.937 to 40.094 liters/day. After applying correction factors for each drip setting, the actual water requirement indicated surplus water stored in the soil and used for plant growth. The study concludes that drip irrigation management must account for residual soil water so that evapotranspiration demand during sunlight exposure is continuously met

This study aims to design and implement a simple solar panel-based battery charging system equipped with protection and voltage limiting circuits. The study was conducted to address the limitations of a direct solar panel-to-battery connection, which may cause short-circuit risk, reverse current, unstable charging voltage, and excessive battery charging. This research used a design-based experimental approach. The system was developed by preparing a block diagram, dividing it into several functional sub-blocks, and implementing the design into an electronic circuit. The main circuit sections consisted of solar panel protection, voltage limiter, interlocking circuit breaker, power regulator, and voltage divider. The assembled circuit was tested through real-time measurement by observing solar panel output voltage under different time and sky conditions and measuring battery charging time from different initial voltage levels. The results show that the solar panel output voltage varied according to time and weather condition. The lowest measured voltage was 15.0 V under cloudy conditions, while the highest measured voltage was 25.2 V under clear sky conditions around midday. The battery charging test showed that lower initial battery voltage required longer charging time, while voltage closer to the target level required shorter charging time. The evaluation was limited to voltage measurement and charging time; charging current, battery temperature, solar irradiance, and charging efficiency were not measured in detail. The proposed system can be applied for small-scale solar charging, educational practice, and basic renewable energy experiments. The study offers a practical circuit model that integrates protection, interlocking, voltage limiting, and regulation functions using simple and accessible electronic components.

The optimization of road alignment has become increasingly important due to the continuous growth in traffic volume and the rising demand for efficient travel time. Road optimization considers several key factors, including traffic volume, population growth, and regional development, to ensure that transportation infrastructure remains functional and capable of meeting future mobility demands. The Malang–Batu corridor is characterized by mountainous terrain and hilly topography, requiring an appropriate geometric road design to determine the shortest feasible route while maintaining compliance with the Indonesian Bina Marga geometric design standards. This study developed a geometric road alignment model by applying Bina Marga specifications, in which the first horizontal curve was designed using the Spiral–Circle–Spiral (SCS) configuration, the second curve employed the Spiral–Spiral (SS) configuration, and the third curve utilized the Spiral–Circle–Spiral (SCS) configuration. The primary objective of this study was to determine the minimum achievable route length through variations in horizontal alignment parameters. The modeling results indicate that the shortest route length obtained was 1,101.17 m. The optimal horizontal alignment consisted of an SCS curve at Point A, an SS curve at Point B, and an SCS curve at Point C, whereas the vertical alignment followed the existing terrain conditions, incorporating both crest and sag vertical curves. These findings demonstrate that optimizing horizontal alignment parameters can effectively minimize route length while satisfying the geometric design requirements established by the Bina Marga standards.

As a maritime nation with vast sea territories, Indonesia faces significant challenges in safeguarding its waters, particularly in strategic regions such as the Natuna Sea. This area is vulnerable to various threats, including territorial violations, marine resource theft, and illegal underwater activities. This study aims to formulate a concept for the utilization of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) as an alternative solution to enhance underwater security systems in the region. The method employed is Research and Development (R&D), adopting model development steps and complemented by a Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) analysis to assess the feasibility and effectiveness of AUVs in the context of Indonesian maritime defense. The research findings indicate that the main strength of AUVs lies in their technological capability to effectively detect underwater threats. Although they have weaknesses, such as high operational costs, dependency on imported components, and limitations in battery endurance and sonar capabilities, these factors do not significantly hinder AUV effectiveness. Major opportunities arise from global technological advancements, yet challenges remain due to insufficient government policy support. The threats faced include the risk of sabotage and extreme weather conditions. Therefore, the recommended strategies are to maximize the use of technology, strengthen supporting regulations, and address logistical and financial barriers to realize effective and sustainable AUV operations in the Natuna Sea.

This study aims to provide the benefits of a psychological approach in education through a learning adjustment strategy based on the developmental stage and age limits of students. The study used a library method with a qualitative descriptive-analytical approach through a review of educational psychology literature, cognitive development theory, national education regulations, and various relevant scientific journals. The results of the study indicate that learning effectiveness is greatly influenced by the alignment between material, teaching methods, and students' psychological readiness. Piaget's cognitive development theory indicates that elementary school-aged children are at the concrete operational stage, thus requiring contextual learning, the use of real-life media, and active interaction in the learning process. This study also found that age limits in the education system have an important function as a means of synchronizing students' biological, emotional, social, and intellectual readiness with learning targets. Through the "Psychological Navigation" model, this study offers a strategic framework for educators to create adaptive, humanistic learning that is oriented towards optimal student development. The implications of this study emphasize that teachers need to understand the individual characteristics of students so that the educational process does not only focus on academic achievement, but also supports the psychological well-being and character formation of students as a whole.

The quality of life and well-being of women in Indonesia can be measured through the Female Life Expectancy indicator. Data on Female Life Expectancy from 2022 to 2024 shows a nationally positive trend; however, a significant disparity persists across provinces, particularly between the Western and Eastern regions of Indonesia. The nation still faces challenges in ensuring an equitable quality of life for women, as evidenced by the national Female Life Expectancy (FLE) in 2024 at 74.21 years, which remains lower than ASEAN counterparts such as Singapore at 83.86 years. Furthermore, regional imbalances are reflected in the performance gap between D.I. Yogyakarta (77.4 years) and West Sulawesi (68.28 years). This study aims to analyze the effects of Women's Income Contribution, Access to Clean Water, the Number of Families Receiving Social Assistance, and Women's Mean Years of Schooling on Female Life Expectancy in Indonesia during the 2022–2024 period. The estimation method applied in this research is the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) via a quantitative panel data regression approach, spanning an observation area of 33 provinces (n=99). Based on the analysis, Female Life Expectancy is proven to be positively and significantly influenced by Women's Mean Years of Schooling and Access to Clean Water. These findings indicate that human resource quality and environmental conditions serve as dominant factors in driving up Female Life Expectancy. Therefore, government policy interventions should ideally focus on expanding educational access for women and ensuring the equitable distribution of clean water infrastructure.

The coffee shop industry has experienced substantial growth in recent years, creating intense competition that compels businesses to continuously enhance service performance in order to maintain customer satisfaction and market competitiveness. PT Jokopi Indonesia Group has encountered several service-related issues reflected in declining sales performance and recurring customer complaints, indicating the need for a comprehensive evaluation of service quality. This study aims to identify service attributes that fail to meet customer expectations and determine improvement priorities through the integration of the SERVQUAL and Kano methods. A quantitative approach was employed using questionnaire data collected from 50 customers who had prior experience with the company’s services. SERVQUAL was utilized to assess discrepancies between customer expectations and perceived service performance, while the Kano model was applied to classify attributes according to their contribution to customer satisfaction. The findings reveal that all evaluated attributes generated negative gap values, indicating that existing service performance has not yet reached the level expected by customers. The most critical gaps were identified in menu availability, air-conditioning and fan comfort, payment convenience, and straw availability. Kano classification further demonstrates that menu availability and thermal comfort facilities belong to the Must-Be category, meaning that failure to provide these attributes may trigger significant customer dissatisfaction. The integration of SERVQUAL and Kano highlights these attributes as the most urgent areas for improvement. The results provide managerial guidance for developing targeted service enhancement initiatives aimed at strengthening customer satisfaction, retention, and competitive advantage.
