Religious tolerance is an essential concept in religious life reflected in Islamic teachings. Islam teaches the importance of respecting and honoring differences, whether in religion, ethnicity, or culture. The concept of religious tolerance in Islam can be found in several verses of the Qur'an, which call for not imposing religion, living in harmony and peace, and helping one another regardless of differences. The freedom to choose a religion is a fundamental human right that must be respected, as each individual has the right to choose and embrace their religion according to their belief. Islam not only teaches acceptance of differences but also respects the existence of other religions, whether major or minority. Religious tolerance in Islam goes beyond merely respecting differences; it also includes the attitude of living together peacefully and helping one another, in order to create a harmonious and blessed life.

Islamic teachings are a life guide for muslims that originate from various important references. These sources of Islamic teachings are the basis for living a life in accordance with Allah's commands and the guidance of His Messenger. There are four main sources recognized in Islamic teachings, namely the Al-Qur'an, Hadith, Ijma', and Qiyas. The Al-Qur'an is the holy book of Muslims which is believed to be a revelation from Allah SWT which was conveyed to the Prophet Muhammad SAW, while the Hadith is a collection of sayings, actions and approvals of the Prophet Muhammad SAW which serve as a guide in understanding and practicing Islamic teachings. This article aims to examine the role and importance of these four sources in shaping the law, ethics and social life of Muslims. Through qualitative research methods with a descriptive-analytical approach, the research results show that the Al-Qur'an and Hadith are closely related in shaping Muslims' understanding of religion. In addition, this article also examines how ulama use these two sources in establishing Islamic law (shariah) and how these teachings are applied in different socio-cultural contexts. Thus, this research strengthens the importance of understanding in depth the two sources of Islamic teachings in order to apply them in everyday life.

Marriage in Indonesia is regulated by Law Number 1 of 1974 which requires implementation according to religious law, but interfaith marriages often cause problems, especially in inheritance rights. Indonesia recognizes three inheritance law systems: Islamic, civil, and customary, which regulate inheritance differently. Children from interfaith marriages often face inheritance obstacles, especially if there are differences of faith between the testator and the heirs. Several court decisions provide inheritance rights through a mandatory will, but are limited to one-third of the inheritance. Existing solutions include preparing a clear will, mediating disputes, and involving a notary to validate documents. A comprehensive approach through legal education and collaboration between the government, non-governmental organizations, and the community is needed to provide legal certainty and justice for children from interfaith marriages.

Adultery, which in Islam is defined as sexual intercourse outside of a legal marriage, is one of the major sins. Islamic law strictly prohibits and imposes severe sanctions on perpetrators of adultery, both men and women. In the Qur'an, adultery is referred to as an act that damages morals and social order. Sanctions for perpetrators of adultery in Islamic law are included in the category of hudud punishments, which have fixed provisions from Allah and are strictly regulated in the Shari'a. The purpose of this study is to analyze how Islamic law imposes sanctions on adultery and the role of these punishments in maintaining the morality of society, to examine how the Criminal Code in Indonesia regulates adultery, and to consider the differences in sanctions applied in positive law, to compare the perspectives of Islamic law and the Criminal Code in dealing with cases of adultery, both in terms of legal substance and enforcement in Indonesia, to identify the relevance of each legal system in dealing with adultery in the modern era, considering the differences in culture and views of society. In Islamic law, adultery has very severe sanctions. If the perpetrator of adultery is a married person, the punishment is stoning or stoning to death, while for those who are not married, the punishment is 100 lashes. This research method uses a qualitative approach with a normative juridical method to analyze the comparison between Islamic law and the Criminal Code in regulating adultery. The results of this study indicate that Islamic law emphasizes the importance of testimony and strong evidence in the process of enforcing the punishment for adultery, namely that there must be four witnesses who directly witnessed the act. Meanwhile, in the Criminal Code, adultery is not given the same severe sanctions as in Islamic law. The Criminal Code only provides imprisonment for adultery perpetrators who are proven guilty, especially if the act involves married parties. Article 284 of the Criminal Code regulates a maximum prison sentence of nine months for those who commit adultery. Unlike Islamic law, the Criminal Code focuses more on maintaining public order and family honor than on individual morality according to religion.

This issue is still debated by many religious experts and many different sectarian groups have emerged and punished each other by prohibiting inter-tribal marriages. In short, the author emphasizes that this problem is not included in the daruriyyat but only in the hajiyyat category. In other words we can say that inter-tribal marriages are permitted in Islam.
