This study aims to examine self-confidence issues in elementary school students, particularly second-grade students at SDN 1 Gulang. Various problems identified included shyness, low self-confidence, fear of performing in front of the class, and a tendency to withdraw from social settings. This study used a qualitative approach with data collection techniques including interviews and observations to identify factors contributing to low self-confidence and the roles of teachers and parents in developing it. The results indicate that low student self-confidence is influenced by internal factors, such as fear, anxiety, and lack of courage, as well as external factors, including family parenting styles, the social environment, and learning experiences at school. Teachers play a strategic role by providing emotional support, positive motivation, and implementing active learning strategies that encourage student engagement. Furthermore, parents play a crucial role in providing guidance, supportive parenting styles, and appropriate social stimulation. This study concludes that efforts to improve student self-confidence require consistent and ongoing collaboration between teachers and parents.

The transformation of the post-pandemic education system has crystallized online learning as a permanent component, with parents assuming an unprecedented instructional role at the elementary level, particularly at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI). This qualitative case study aims to analyze in depth the dynamics and implications of the role of these parents during the transition period. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with parents, students, and teachers from two MIs in Blora, enriched by observation and analysis of communication documents. The findings of the study reveal three crucial things: first, there is a transformation of the role of parents into "substitute teachers" which creates a significant psychological burden due to the gap between the demands of the role and pedagogical capacity. Second, the communication pattern between schools and parents is still one-way and administrative, and has not built a collaborative three-way partnership by involving students. Third, the quality of parental assistance is very diverse and highly dependent on their digital literacy capacity and educational background, which directly affects the development of students' self-regulated learning. This study concludes that the effectiveness of parental roles is determined by psycho-educational support, the quality of communication channels, and the level of personal capacity, so policy implications must move towards a differentiated and empowerment-oriented approach.

This study is a scholarly work by a student of the Early Childhood Education Teacher Education Program, Faculty of Education, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo, supervised by Dra. Rapi Us. Djuko as the first advisor and Mr. Nunung Suryana Jamin, SE, M.Si as the second advisor. The objective of this research is to provide a comprehensive overview of foreign language development achievements among early childhood learners in Group B at TK Nurul Ilmih. The study adopts a qualitative descriptive approach, utilizing observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation as data collection methods. A total of 22 children participated as the primary subjects and were actively involved throughout the observation process. The research focused on several linguistic aspects, including language comprehension, verbal expression, basic vocabulary usage, pronunciation ability, and children's responses to bilingual instructions (in both Indonesian and English). The findings indicate that the children’s foreign language development falls within the "developing as expected" category, although it has not yet reached an optimal level. Some children still encounter difficulties in pronouncing English vocabulary, constructing simple sentences, and understanding verbal commands. Several factors influence the progress of their language development, including family background, parenting style, the intensity of teacher-provided stimulation, and habitual exposure to foreign languages in daily school activities. The study concludes that consistent, engaging, and developmentally appropriate stimulation from both teachers and parents plays a crucial role in fostering bilingual proficiency in early childhood.

The RIGEM community service program was carried out with the aim of strengthening character education for early childhood through the use of children’s songs in TK B. The background of this activity stems from concerns about the increasing exposure of children to adult songs and content, which may influence their behavior and moral values. Children’s songs were chosen as the main medium because they have simple melodies, easy-to-remember lyrics, and contain positive values that can stimulate children's cognitive, affective, and social development. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using the CIPP evaluation model (Context, Input, Process, Product) to assess the effectiveness of the program. Data were collected through observations, interviews with teachers and parents, and documentation of activities. The results show that the children’s songs introduced particularly those containing messages about politeness, cooperation, and responsibility were effective in improving children's understanding of moral values and encouraging positive behavioral changes. Children became more accustomed to using polite expressions, showing empathy, and cooperating during classroom activities. Teachers and parents played an important role in reinforcing these habits both at school and at home. Overall, the RIGEM program proved to be an effective, enjoyable, contextual, and easily implemented effort to foster character development in early childhood education.

This article explores the concept of a “House of Faith” as a holistic educational framework designed to build students’ character based on religious values. The fundamental idea of the House of Faith is likened to a school environment that provides a comfortable and safe space for students to develop their faith and noble character through learning activities connected to religious teachings. A religious school environment is created through everyday atmospheres that encourage the practice of worship, the presence of religious symbols, and community activities that strengthen students’ spirituality. Programs to reinforce religious spirit include activities such as communal prayers, religious studies, and social projects designed to gradually enhance students’ spiritual awareness. Teachers and educational staff play a highly effective role, acting as role models and facilitators in the learning process. Their approach to instilling faith and moral values involves interactive methods such as group discussions, inspirational stories, and personal reflection, all adapted to students’ developmental stages. Collaboration between the school and parents becomes a key factor in ensuring consistent support. This is carried out through regular meetings, joint workshops, and open communication that reinforces family values. The impact of religious spirit on students can be seen in increased discipline, social empathy, emotional resilience, and stronger academic motivation. However, implementation faces challenges such as limited curriculum time, diversity of student backgrounds, and cultural resistance. These challenges are addressed through solutions, including regular teacher training, program evaluation, and the integration of technology for distance learning. Overall, the article emphasizes that a school functioning as a House of Faith can shape young generations who are not only intellectually capable but also strong in faith and morals, contributing to a more harmonious and meaningful society.

The absence of a father or fatherlessness in a family is a serious problem that affects children's social, psychological, and educational development. This condition becomes even more complex when experienced by street children who live in limited economic conditions and lack family support. The purpose of this study is to reveal the social life of street children on Jalan Krakatau Ujung, Medan Deli District, find the factors that cause fatherlessness, and study the consequences. This study is a qualitative study conducted through a descriptive approach. Data were collected through documentation and in-depth interviews with street children, parents, and community leaders. The results of the study show that the factors causing fatherlessness include divorce, abandonment, and the death of the father. Fathers may also migrate or engage in deviant behavior, such as drug abuse. Children without parents have visible impacts in the form of psychological vulnerability, such as loneliness, lack of self-control, and lack of self-confidence; social impacts, such as difficulty socializing, vulnerability to bullying and exploitation; and educational impacts, such as lack of desire to learn and limited access to education.
