Prosiding Seminar Nasional Ilmu Ekonomi dan Akuntansi 2024 Asosiasi Riset Ekonomi dan Akuntansi Indonesia

This study aims to analyze the role of crowdfunding, impact investing, zakat, and waqf as alternative financing in supporting sustainable development in Indonesia. The research method used is qualitative descriptive with a case study approach based on secondary data from literature and empirical reports. The results show that crowdfunding mobilizes community funds for environmental projects such as mangrove conservation in Kalimantan, significantly reducing carbon emissions. Impact investing supports strategic sectors like Islamic fintech and affordable housing, creating both social and financial impact. Zakat contributes to improved welfare through skills training and healthcare services, while waqf supports the development of sustainable social infrastructure. However, the management of zakat and waqf faces challenges in transparency and public participation. This study bridges the literature gap with empirical evidence highlighting the effectiveness of alternative financing in sustainable development. The conclusion emphasizes the need for a strategic integration of alternative financing to accelerate the achievement of sustainable development goals in an inclusive manner.

Background: WHO and UNICEF recommend that newborns receive exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months in early life until the age of two years. The low level of exclusive breastfeeding in the community is caused by various challenges such as the assumption that the supply of breast milk is insufficient and the lack of knowledge about natural methods to increase breast milk production. Community service is carried out in RW II, Siwalankerto, Surabaya. Method: Using a natural approach, educational workshops and direct training in preparing soy milk, aimed at mothers, pregnant women, and posyandu cadres. This program focuses on the use of soy-based products, especially "SAKESI" (Soy Milk), as a natural method to increase lactation. Pre- and post-intervention surveys were conducted to assess changes in knowledge and behavior regarding exclusive breastfeeding and the use of soy products. The study findings showed significant improvements in both knowledge and practical application of these methods, indicating the effectiveness of the program in promoting breastfeeding practices. Conclusion: The project highlights the potential of an affordable local resource such as soybeans to address public health challenges related to maternal and child nutrition and also the importance of ongoing community education and support to sustain these improvements.

Stunting is a chronic nutrition issue characterized by height below the standard for a child’s age. According to the 2018 Basic Health Research (Riskesdas), the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia reached 30.8%, significantly higher than the government’s target of below 20% by 2024. One of the primary causes of stunting is inadequate nutrition, particularly during the first 1,000 days of life, which can impede growth and development, resulting in long-term health and cognitive issues. To address this, comprehensive prevention efforts are essential, including community education on nutritious eating. This Community Service initiative targets community leaders and the public, especially mothers and expectant mothers in the Nagari Sago Salido area. The methods employed include distributing questionnaires, presenting educational materials, facilitating discussions, conducting anthropometric screenings for toddlers, and providing nutritious food for participants. The aim is to enhance community understanding of the importance of nutritious diets and their impact on child growth, while encouraging healthier eating habits within families. This initiative seeks to foster sustainable changes in dietary practices and contribute to the reduction of stunting rates in the region.

This study aims to analyze waste management in Indonesia from 2001 to 2022, and identify challenges and solutions that can be implemented to improve the effectiveness of waste management. Waste is a major problem affecting the environment and public health, with around 34.29% of waste in Indonesia not being managed properly. This research uses a descriptive approach by analyzing data related to policies, infrastructure, and community participation in waste management. The results showed that although there are regulations governing waste management, the main challenges faced are low public awareness and limited waste management infrastructure in many regions. The research also found that collaboration between the government, communities and the private sector is crucial in creating sustainable solutions. In addition, the development of environmentally friendly waste management technologies, such as Waste Power Plants (PLTSa), can be an innovative solution to reduce the negative impact of waste on the environment. This research suggests the need to strengthen regulations, increase public awareness, and develop more efficient and environmentally friendly waste management technologies.

Stunting is a major nutritional problem faced by Indonesia. According to Nutritional Status Monitoring (PSG) data for the past three years, the prevalence of stunting in toddlers has increased from 27.5% in 2016 to 29.6% in 2017. The incidence of stunting has increased. The results of a survey in Semadam District, Southeast Aceh Regency found that during the new normal period of Covid-19, Posyandu activities held in each village followed the Covid-19 health protocol. Each village has 3 to 5 Posyandu cadres who are tasked with assisting Posyandu activities for toddlers. Semadam District is one of the stunting locus villages that receives stunting education. So it is important for the community to be provided with supplies on the importance of preventing stunting and its impact on toddlers in Semadam Village. The mandatory output targets achieved are publications in national journals with EISSN, publications in electronic mass media, activity videos uploaded on YouTube and increasing knowledge and skills of partners.

Access to adequate sanitation services and safe drinking water is a fundamental need that influences public health and sustainable development. This study analyzes the percentage of households in Gorontalo Utara Regency with access to adequate sanitation and safe drinking water from 2021 to 2023, linking it to WHO health standards. The results show an increase in access to adequate sanitation from 79.03% in 2021 to 81.80% in 2022, although there was a slight decline to 81.37% in 2023. Meanwhile, access to safe drinking water showed a more positive trend, rising from 86.23% in 2021 to 90.14% in 2023. This improvement reflects the success of government programs in enhancing basic infrastructure and raising community awareness. However, challenges remain in reaching approximately 10% of households still lacking access, particularly in remote areas. According to WHO, access to adequate sanitation and safe drinking water significantly reduces the risk of waterborne diseases such as diarrhea, cholera, and typhoid. This study highlights the importance of sustainable approaches to improving service coverage, such as developing inclusive infrastructure, educating communities on the importance of clean and healthy living behaviors, and strengthening the role of local institutions. In conclusion, although Gorontalo Utara has made significant progress, sustained efforts are needed to achieve universal access to sanitation and safe drinking water, as mandated by the SDGs.

Effective agricultural waste management has a huge potential to increase community productivity and income. Agricultural waste, often considered a problem, can be processed into valuable resources such as organic fertilizer, biogas, and animal feed. By utilizing organic fertilizer from agricultural waste, soil fertility can be enhanced and dependence on chemical fertilizers can be reduced, thus contributing to increased crop yields. Biogas produced from the fermentation process of waste can be used as an alternative energy source, which in turn can reduce operational costs and increase income. Moreover, animal feed derived from agricultural waste can improve the quality and quantity of livestock production, which also contributes to changes in the income of livestock farmers. Additionally, good agricultural waste management can reduce environmental pollution and improve public health. Therefore, it is important to raise awareness and knowledge among the community about sustainable agricultural waste management practices. This needs to be complemented by adequate infrastructure and training so that waste can be processed into resources that benefit everyone.
