The distribution of sugarcane from farmers to sugar mills in Indonesia continues to face various challenges, particularly in terms of logistical efficiency and farmers’ dependency on intermediaries. This study aims to analyze the role of intermediaries in determining the efficiency of sugarcane distribution, using a case study in Kedungmakam Village, Tuban Regency. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed, enabling an in-depth understanding of distribution practices directly in the field. Data were collected through field observations, in-depth interviews with farmers, intermediaries, and retail traders, as well as supporting documentation. The results indicate that intermediaries play a crucial role in providing production capital, scheduling harvests, and managing transportation of sugarcane to the mills. However, their dominance, in the absence of formal contracts, creates relationship imbalances and weakens the bargaining position of farmers. Furthermore, geographical barriers, limited access to market information, and the lack of independent distribution infrastructure exacerbate inefficiencies and reduce fairness in the existing distribution system. Therefore, strengthening farmer institutions, improving contract transparency, and enhancing access to logistics and information are recommended as long-term solutions.

Linear programming is a crucial operations research method for optimization problems in various fields like manufacturing and logistics, but it is often hindered by the absence of a basic feasible solution due to artificial variables. The Big M method addresses this by adding artificial variables and a large penalty, allowing the discovery of a valid initial solution without altering the constraint structure. This research employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) to examine the implementation of the Big M method in Indonesia from 2015-2025, analyzing journals and proceedings related to linear programming optimization. The review findings indicate that this method is highly effective and flexible for diverse cases such as production, animal feed, and scheduling, capable of handling artificial constraints and optimizing profit or cost. Although efficient, the Big M method has drawbacks, including computational complexity and dependence on the precise selection of the M value, which can affect result accuracy. Overall, the Big M Method remains relevant and important for real-world optimization problems requiring systematic constraint handling.

The study responds to the problem of discrepancies in inventory data, which can disrupt operations due to inaccurate recording or delays in documentation. The objective is to analyze the effectiveness and structure of stock opname procedures in controlling non-productive inventory. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, utilizing observation and interviews with Accounting and General Affair warehouse staff to collect primary data. The findings reveal that stock opname at PT Bernofarm is conducted periodically through coordinated stages: scheduling, preparation of inventory data, physical inspection, data reconciliation, reporting, and inventory adjustment. The procedures are carried out collaboratively between the Accounting and General Affair divisions, with clearly defined responsibilities and documentation such as stock cards, credit memos, and goods receipts. Despite a difference in theoretical and practical implementation—where inventory recording is managed by warehouse staff rather than accounting—the presence of functional segregation and supervisory checks ensures effective internal control. The study concludes that a structured and consistent stock opname process improves data accuracy, minimizes discrepancies, and enhances accountability. This research is limited to non-productive inventory in a single company division, and further studies are suggested to explore digital solutions or comparative analyses across industries.

A reliable electrical grid the power plant scheduling system needs to optimize the plant's performance by considering the economic value and the value of emissions generated by the plant, in addition to the reliability and economic sectors. This system should also take into account the environmental impact, as well as the CO2 and CH4 emissions produced by the plant. This research will use the Dragonfly Algorithm with weighting parameters to schedule hydro and thermal facilities' emissions and economic activities. That the weighting value impacts production costs and emissions is demonstrated by the data acquired from the Dragonfly Algorithm simulation. If economic considerations take precedence in assigning weights, then low-cost generating will result in high-value emissions, and vice versa. The plant's Emission Intensity rating also meets the standards established by the government.
