This research aims to analyze the effect of CEO power and board gender diversity on modern slavery disclosure (MSD) among Indonesia’s top 50 publicly listed companies by market capitalization. The research uses a quantitative approach with secondary data collected from annual and sustainability reports during the 2022–2024 period. The results show that CEO power has a negative and significant effect on MSD, indicating that stronger CEO power will reduce disclosure transparency. Furthermore, gender diversity on the board of commissioners also shows a negative and significant relationship with MSD, indicating that female representation in supervisory roles has not yet contributed into greater social accountability within Indonesian firms. Meanwhile, gender diversity on the board of directors shows no significant effect. These results suggest that internal governance factors such as CEO power and limited female influence in top positions still hinder companies from being transparent about social and ethical issues. In conclusion, stronger regulations and independent oversight are needed to improve companies’ transparency regarding modern slavery practices.

Blood pressure is the pressure exerted by blood pumped by the heart against the walls of the arteries. Abnormalities in blood pressure can take the form of high blood pressure or hypertension and low blood pressure or hypotension. Hypertension is a non-communicable disease that is one of the risk factors for cardiovascular disease, and sufferers often do not show any symptoms. This community service activity aimed to examine the results of blood pressure measurements among inmates at the Class IIB Detention Center in Masohi City. This study used a descriptive observational design with a cross-sectional approach. There were 95 inmates who participated in this activity. Data analysis was conducted using quantitative descriptive methods to describe the blood pressure measurement results based on demographic data such as age, gender, education level, occupation, height, and weight. The results showed that most respondents were in the 20-30 age range (44.2%) and male (91.6%). The level of education shows that most respondents only completed high school (54.7%) and the majority worked as farmers (30.5%). Anthropometric characteristics in terms of height show that most respondents were between 140-160 cm (47.4%) and weighed between 51-60 kg (43.2%). The distribution of blood pressure shows that most respondents are in the pre-hypertension (40%), normal (29.5%), grade 1 hypertension (17.9%), and grade 2 hypertension (10.5%). Therefore, routine blood pressure checks need to be carried out so that inmates in detention centers can avoid hypertension, which can be a risk factor for cardiovascular disease.

The rapid development of artificial intelligence has encouraged the widespread use of chatbots on social media platforms, transforming patterns of digital communication and interaction. This study aims to examine the role of chatbots in shaping social interaction, fandom dynamics, and users’ digital identities within contemporary online culture. The research employs a literature review approach using grounded theory as an analytical framework to identify patterns, themes, and emerging concepts from relevant academic publications published between 2021 and 2025. Articles were collected through academic databases and systematically selected based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. The findings indicate that chatbots have shifted from being purely functional technological tools to becoming cultural actors that influence emotional engagement, community formation, and identity expression in digital spaces. Chatbots contribute to creating perceived emotional closeness, strengthening fandom interactions, and facilitating self-expression, particularly within popular culture and creative industries. However, the study also highlights several challenges, including emotional dependency, algorithm-driven homogenization of preferences, gender bias, and aggressive behavior in human–machine interactions. Cultural context plays a significant role in shaping user acceptance and interpretation of chatbots. These findings imply that chatbot development and implementation should consider not only technical efficiency but also social, psychological, and ethical dimensions to ensure responsible and inclusive digital interaction.

This article examines the evolution of the concept of femininity in East Asian makeup culture by tracing changes in style, function, and social meaning from traditional periods to the modern era. The study focuses on makeup practices in China, Japan, and Korea, which possess distinct cultural and historical backgrounds yet similarly demonstrate dynamic developments of femininity through visual expression. The research employs a literature review using a qualitative approach, complemented by an analysis of beauty trends emerging in each country. The findings indicate that facial makeup functions not merely as an aesthetic practice but also as a medium for representing personal identity, social status, gender roles, and prevailing cultural values within society. The transformation of makeup practices is influenced by various factors, including local traditional heritage, processes of modernization, changes in women’s roles, and globalization, which introduces new beauty standards. Nevertheless, traditional elements continue to be preserved and adapted, forming distinctive regional characteristics. Overall, this study emphasizes that the concept of femininity in East Asian makeup culture is dynamic and contextual, continually adapting to social change while remaining deeply rooted in longstanding cultural values.

The phenomenon of increasing female activity in cafes shows a shift in lifestyle that is not merely consumptive, but also reflective and social. Cafes have now become leisure spaces where women express themselves, build relationships, and find emotional balance. This study aims to examine the trend of women utilizing cafes as a practice of social welfare in the era of sustainability. The approach used is descriptive qualitative based on secondary sources, with data in the form of news articles, lifestyle writings, and online media coverage of women's leisure behavior in Cirebon. This analysis was conducted to explore the social and spiritual values that emerge in these activities. The results of the study show that cafes serve as safe spaces for women to interact, share ideas, and restore mental energy. These activities reflect maqashid values such as Hifz al-nafs (preserving the soul) and Hifz al-'aql (preserving the mind), while contributing to the spirit of sustainability through the strengthening of gender equality and social welfare. The novelty of this research lies in its attempt to interpret women's leisure trends through the paradigm of social welfare, rather than simply as a modern lifestyle. These findings have important implications for the creation of a more inclusive, safe, and sustainable public space, while also opening up a new perspective that leisure activities can be part of achieving maqashid al-syari'ah in contemporary social life.

This study aims to analyze the relationship between online shopping activities and personal financial management among university students in Indonesia. The background of this research lies in the increasing digitalization of daily consumption, which has encouraged students to engage more actively in e-commerce transactions. Using a quantitative correlational design, data were collected from 100 undergraduate students through an online questionnaire based on Likert-scale indicators. The independent variables consist of buyer characteristics (age, gender, and income sources) and online shopping activities (frequency, spending amount, and shopping motivation). Meanwhile, personal financial management is measured through financial planning and spending control. The findings show that students demonstrate very high levels of online shopping activity and acknowledge the strong influence of demographic factors on their consumption behavior. Descriptive analysis also indicates high scores for financial planning and spending control, although intensive online shopping remains a potential risk to financial stability. The implications of this study highlight the need to strengthen financial literacy among students to help them develop healthier budgeting habits and reduce impulsive buying driven by digital platforms. This research is expected to contribute to the understanding of digital consumer behavior and support the development of financial education programs for young adults.

Sexual violence remains a pervasive human rights violation globally, with nearly one in three women experiencing physical or sexual abuse in their lifetime (UN Women, 2024). In Indonesia, the National Commmision on Violence against Women (Komnas Perempuan) reported 330,097 cases in 2024, of which 26,9% were sexual violence. Despite Law No. 12 of 2022 on the Crime of Sexual Violence (UU TPKS), gaps persist between legal enforcement and public awareness, emphasizing the need for effective advocacy. This study investigates the rol of digital media in human rights advocacy by analyzing KemenPPPA’s Instagram Reels campaign titled “Three Years Since the Enactment of the Sexual Violence Law.” Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through digital observation and documentation of the video, captions, and public comments. Framing Analysis (Entman, 1993) identified problem definitations, moral evaluations, and proposed solutions, while Normative Content Discourse Interpretation (NCDI) interpreted content based on national law and international human rights standards, particularly CEDAW. Findings show that the campaign communicates key human rights values, including victim protection, gender equality, and justice. The study highlights the potential of digital media as both an educational tool and platform for social participation, stressing participatory legal communication to complement formal law enforcement and advance women’s rights in Indonesia.

This study aims to analyze the representation of women in beauty product advertisements on social media, focusing on the Nivea Care & Protect Body Serum advertisement. Beauty advertisements often depict women within specific social constructions related to beauty standards, gender roles, and power relations. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach using Sara Mills’ Critical Discourse Analysis, which emphasizes the position of subject (speaker) and object (spoken of) as well as how women are positioned in texts and visuals. Data were collected through documentation of Nivea Indonesia’s official social media posts. The results show that the advertisement not only reproduces the ideal beauty standard identified with fair and well-maintained skin but also positions women as both subjects and objects of consumption. It concludes that while there are efforts toward empowerment, the advertisement still reinforces dominant discourses that strengthen gender stereotypes in the beauty industry.

Equality in education and employment is an important foundation for realizing social justice as mandated by Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution. Equality means that every individual has the same rights to access, treatment, and opportunities without discrimination based on gender, religion, ethnicity, social status, or physical condition. In education, equality is realized through equal access to learning facilities, an inclusive curriculum, and equal opportunities for all students to develop. Meanwhile, in the field of employment, equality includes fair opportunities in recruitment, promotion, training, and commensurate income. Education plays a strategic role in building awareness of equality by instilling the values of empathy, tolerance, and social justice. A multicultural approach and inclusive education are key to shaping students who value diversity and reject discrimination. Although various policies have been implemented, such as the Smart Indonesia Card (KIP) and affirmative action programs for marginalized groups, challenges such as socio-economic inequality, discrimination, the digital divide, and weak policy implementation remain major obstacles. Therefore, comprehensive efforts are needed, encompassing policy reform, improving teacher quality, and implementing pluralism-based character education to create a just, inclusive, and equal Indonesian society.

In the increasingly developing digital era, the role of influencers on social media has become increasingly significant in influencing consumer behavior and their purchasing intentions. This study aims to quantitatively analyze the relationship between the presence of influencers on social media and consumer purchasing intentions. This research aims to determine how influencers and social media (TikTok) influence the purchasing intentions of Wardah products among female students of STBM Dua Sudara Bitung. This research uses a descriptive quantitative research design. The sample in this study was 77 respondents with a purposive sampling method. In addition, multiple linear regression analysis shows that factors such as age and gender can moderate the relationship between the presence of influencers on social media and purchasing intentions. For example, the millennial generation may be more likely to be influenced by influencers in their purchasing decisions compared to older generations. The data of this study were analyzed using the SPSS program. After the data was tested using a correlation test, the findings in this study obtained a value of 0.717. Then the value in the determination test was 0.000>0.05, which means there is a significant relationship. Furthermore, the results of the simple linear regression test showed that the calculated t-value was greater than the table t-value, indicating significant significance. This means that influencers and social media (TikTok) have a strong influence on Wardah product purchase intention among female students at STBM Dua Sudara Bitung.

This study delves into the linguistic and ideological dimensions of cyberbullying discourse directed at TikTok creator Putri Padang within the framework of Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA). In Indonesia’s digital landscape, TikTok has become one of the prominent platform for self-expression and cultural performance, yet it also serves as a site for public shaming and moral policing. Drawing on Fairclough’s (1995) three-dimensional model, this qualitative research analyzes fifty hate comments collected from several TikTok videos featuring Putri Padang to uncover how language reproduces power relations and cultural ideologies. The findings reveal that hate comments are not random acts of aggression but structured discursive practices characterized by repetition, labeling, and moral judgment. Linguistic strategies such as mockery, objectification, and intertextual humor—exemplified by terms like “muka kotak” and “Adudu”—function as mechanisms of symbolic domination, reinforcing gendered and regional hierarchies. Moreover, the comments often invoke patriarchal values and cultural authenticity to moral criticism, positioning the target as a violator of feminine and cultural norms. The research contributes to cyber-discourse studies by extending into multimodal contexts and emphasizing the need for culturally grounded approaches to online gender-based violence.

The issue of gender equality in Qur'anic interpretation remains a profound problem, particularly when biased lexical interpretations obscure the liberating theological principles of the text. This article aims to analyze the concept of "zauj" in the Qur'an and its relevance as a foundation for gender equality. This research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing Toshihiko Izutsu's semantic analysis method and contemporary Qur'anic hermeneutics. The findings reveal that "zauj" is a cosmological principle of paired creation, implying equality, compatibility, and reciprocity. The reduction of the meaning of "zauj" to merely "wife" in many traditional interpretations constitutes a semantic distortion that perpetuates gender inequality. The gender-based relational disparities that occur are more due to patriarchal interpretive structures than the universal message of the Qur'an itself. The concept of "zauj" instead offers a paradigm of equal and complementary relations, which can form the basis for reconstructing gender-just family ethics in Islam. Therefore, the deconstruction of interpretive hegemony and the holistic reconstruction of the meaning of "zauj" are essential prerequisites for realizing egalitarian and just gender relations in Islam.

This study aims to analyze gender representation in the L’Oréal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Oil advertisement using Sara Mills’ Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) approach. The advertisement functions not only as a promotional medium for hair-care products but also as a site of meaning production that shapes social constructions of beauty, women’s roles, and power relations within society. Through the visuals and narrative presented, women are portrayed as the central focus as well as symbols of ideal beauty, characterized by shiny hair, an elegant appearance, and a confident demeanor. The analysis shows that women in the advertisement are positioned primarily as visual objects, while the L’Oréal Paris brand takes the role of the subject that provides solutions to women’s problems—specifically damaged hair. The use of the iconic slogan “Because you’re worth it” constructs a discourse suggesting that women’s self-worth and personal value are closely tied to physical appearance, especially the condition of their hair. Thus, the advertisement not only delivers commercial messages but also carries ideological implications about beauty standards that women are expected to meet. This study concludes that advertising plays a crucial role in reproducing contemporary gender norms and influences how society interprets women’s identity and value through the visual representations it presents.

This study analyzes the role of women in sustaining social harmony and strengthening multicultural education within the multiethnic society of Singkawang through a critical literature review approach. By integrating the Feminist Peace Theory and Multicultural Education Theory, this research examines both national and international scholarly works that explore women’s contributions to peacebuilding and multicultural education in Southeast Asia. The review reveals that women serve as cultural mediators, peace educators, and social innovators through interethnic and interfaith engagements such as cultural festivals, interreligious forums, and community-based initiatives. Despite notable progress in promoting multicultural education in Singkawang, gender perspectives remain insufficiently integrated into educational practices. Through a synthesis of the reviewed literature, this study proposes a conceptual framework of Gendered Multicultural Peace Education (GMPE), comprising three interrelated dimensions: women’s empowerment in educational and social leadership, empathy-based interethnic learning, and the integration of gender equality into curricula and school culture. The model underscores the strategic role of women as transformative agents and peace educators in multiethnic societies. The findings provide significant implications for the development of gender-sensitive and inclusive educational policies in Indonesia

The blue economy is widely promoted as a pathway to sustainable development, yet women’s enterprises remain marginalized by structural barriers. This study investigates whether support systems directly influence the sustainability of coastal women’s businesses in Bulukumba South Sulawesi, Indonesia, while applying the Quintuple Bottom Line (QBL) and Theory of Change (Toc) frameworks. A quantitative design using survey data from women-led micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) was analyzed through structural equation modeling (SEM). The model assessed the reliability of constructs and tested the hypothesized effect of support systems including access to finance, social support, and public policy on sustainability outcomes. Findings reveal that although the measurement model demonstrated reliability and validity, support systems showed no significant direct effect on sustainability. This result contrasts with much of the existing literature but aligns with recent studies emphasizing mediation through financial literacy, managerial capacity, and institutional scaffolding. The study thus adds nuance by demonstrating that external interventions, in isolation, are insufficient for sustaining women’s enterprises in coastal contexts. The research contributes theoretically by extending QBL and Toc to gendered coastal entrepreneurship and practically by highlighting the need for integrated, gender-sensitive policies. Future research should examine mediating and moderating mechanisms that translate support into long term sustainability.

Selecting a faculty that aligns with students’ interests and talents is a strategic step in determining the success of higher education and future career paths. However, most vocational high school (SMK) students still face difficulties in identifying the most suitable faculty due to the lack of data-driven analysis. This study implements the C4.5 classification algorithm within data mining techniques to build an automatic and measurable faculty recommendation system. The dataset consists of attributes such as SMK major, interest level, aptitude test results, academic grade average, and gender, with the output being the recommended faculty. The C4.5 algorithm was chosen for its ability to generate a transparent and interpretable decision tree, which helps both guidance counselors and students understand the rationale behind the recommendations. The experimental results show that the constructed classification model achieved an accuracy rate of 88%, based on cross-validation testing using data from 12th-grade students. The implementation of this system is expected to serve as an objective tool in the faculty selection process and to promote a data-driven decision-making approach in secondary education environments.

Inheritance law in Indonesia is pluralistic because it is influenced by three legal systems, namely customary law, Islamic law, and western civil law (Burgerlijk Wetboek) which is a legacy of the Dutch colonial era and divides the population based on legal classes. This diversity of legal systems also influences inheritance practices in Chinese society which traditionally adheres to a patrilineal system, where sons are prioritized over daughters in the distribution of inheritance. This study aims to analyze the inheritance law regulations for Chinese society, the development of inheritance practices that occur, and the legal considerations used by judges in the Supreme Court Decision Number 147K/Pdt/2017. The research method used is normative-empirical legal research with a statutory approach, cases, and legal identification, as well as assessing the effectiveness of legal implementation through literature studies and interviews. The results of the study indicate that the Supreme Court decision confirms the equality of inheritance rights between sons and daughters. This marks a shift in the Chinese inheritance system from patrilineal customs to the application of the provisions of the Civil Code, which upholds the values of justice and gender equality.

Femoral fractures resulting from road traffic accidents (RTAs) are a major cause of morbidity in developing countries, particularly among economically active young adults. Despite the increasing rate of RTAs in Nigeria, there is a lack of localized data concerning the radiographic distribution and epidemiological characteristics of femoral fractures. This study provides region-specific baseline data for clinical decision-making and public health interventions. A retrospective descriptive study was conducted using patient case notes and radiographic records of 141 individuals with femoral fractures resulting from RTAs, presented at Erichris Diagnostic Centre, Benin City, between January 2019 and December 2022. Radiographs were evaluated to determine fracture location (proximal, middle, or distal third). Data were analyzed using SPSS version 20, and results were presented using descriptive and inferential statistics. Associations between fracture type, age, and gender were examined using Chi-square tests with significance set at p < 0.05. The majority of patients were males (87.2%) and within the 16–30-year age group (72.3%), with a mean age of 31.6 years. The right femur was affected in 55.3% of cases. Middle third femoral shaft fractures were the most prevalent (63.8%), followed by proximal (26.3%) and distal fractures (9.9%). There was no statistically significant association between gender and fracture type (p > 0.05) or between age group and fracture type (p > 0.05). This study demonstrates a high incidence of middle shaft femoral fractures among young adult males due to RTAs in Benin City. These findings highlight the urgent need for targeted road safety policies, improved trauma care infrastructure, and preventive strategies directed at high-risk groups. The data provided serve as a critical reference for orthopedic management and public health planning.
