This study aims to analyze the teaching and learning process of Natural Sciences (IPA) on the topic of the universe in Class VI at SD Negeri 101866 Batang Kuis, Pekan. The study employs a qualitative descriptive method, utilizing data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the learning process adheres to the applicable curriculum, yet some abstract concepts in the universe material remain challenging for students to grasp. The teacher plays an active role in facilitating student understanding by employing a variety of teaching methods, including lectures, discussions, and demonstrations. However, the study reveals that these methods, while effective, may not fully engage students in the learning process. It is suggested that more innovative and student-centered strategies are necessary to foster greater student involvement and understanding. Additionally, the research indicates that the use of technology-based learning media could significantly enhance the students' learning experience by making abstract concepts more tangible. Furthermore, adopting a contextual learning approach, where students can connect the material to real-life situations, is recommended to increase student comprehension and retention. This study emphasizes the importance of adapting teaching methods to the evolving needs of students and integrating modern educational tools to make learning more interactive and meaningful. Ultimately, the study suggests that incorporating these strategies will improve the overall effectiveness of teaching Natural Sciences in elementary school classrooms.

Introduction to measuring tools is an important step in early childhood learning to help them understand basic measurement concepts such as length, weight and volume. Prescholl dan kindergarten at Nurul Ma'arif, this activity is designed with a creative and fun approach, so as to increase children's interest in learning. Through the use of simple measuring tools such as rulers, scales and measuring cups, children not only learn to recognize concrete sizes, but also develop cognitive, motor and logical skills. The implementation of this learning supports the achievement of holistic early childhood education goals, namely forming an intelligent, critical and innovative generation from an early age. The research used the classroom action research (PTK) method which consisted of two cycles, involving 5 children aged 4–5 years as subjects. Data was collected through observation, interviews and documentation, then analyzed descriptively qualitatively. The results of the research show that a play and experimental approach with simple measuring tools, such as rulers, stopwatches and weight scales, and clocks can increase children's understanding of the concept of measurement. Children become more active and enthusiastic in learning, with an increase in their ability to recognize length, determine body weight, recognize time and running speed. This research concludes that play and experimental approaches are effective for introducing measurement concepts to young children, as well as supporting the development of their fine motor and cognitive skills.

This study is evaluation research aimed at assessing the effectiveness of the teaching process implemented by young lecturers who have attended the Basic Instructional Skills Improvement Training (Pekerti) at Universitas Negeri Manado. A sample of 20 lecturers was selected using simple random sampling techniques. The results show that (1) The preparation of the teaching plan by the lecturers at Unima was well done, with 90% of lecturers demonstrating good to excellent performance in preparing their teaching plans. In comparison, only 10% showed less satisfactory performance. (2) The implementation of the teaching process was also well conducted, with 95% of lecturers carrying out the teaching process according to good to excellent criteria and only 5% falling into the less satisfactory category. Although the overall teaching implementation was adequate, several aspects needed improvement, namely the use of media and teaching tools, providing feedback on learning outcomes, and offering follow-up activities. These three aspects should be a primary focus in future training programs like Pekerti to enhance the quality of teaching. The findings provide important recommendations for the development of training programs and the improvement of teaching quality at higher education institutions, especially in the context of developing young lecturers' competencies.

The rapid advancement of technology in the digital era has emphasized the need for optimizing learning processes through digital media, particularly in elementary education. Despite the proven benefits of digital tools in enhancing student engagement and comprehension, many educators, including those at SDIT AUM, face challenges due to limited understanding and skills in utilizing such technologies. Specific issues include low proficiency in using digital platforms, minimal creativity in designing interactive learning materials, and inadequate adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based tools. Previous studies have highlighted the effectiveness of practical training programs in improving teachers' competencies in using digital media, emphasizing the importance of integrating theoretical knowledge, hands-on practice, and continuous evaluation. This community engagement program addressed these challenges through a structured approach, including training on digital platforms like Canva, Gamma, and Zoom, combined with direct practice and interactive discussions. The results revealed significant improvements, with educators demonstrating increased understanding of digital media (from 45% to 85%), enhanced skills in creating interactive materials (from 40% to 80%), and greater motivation to adopt AI-based tools (from 50% to 90%). These findings affirm the effectiveness of the program in empowering teachers to create innovative and engaging learning experiences, with the potential to serve as a replicable model for other schools striving to bridge the gap between traditional teaching methods and digital transformation.

This study aims to analyze the influence of internal combustion engine instructional tools on the competency achievement of cadets at the Indonesian Naval Academy Technical Corps. Using a mixed-methods research approach with sequential explanatory design, this study involved 160 cadets divided into experimental group (n=80) and control group (n=80). Quantitative data were collected through knowledge competency tests, practical skills assessments, and attitude scales, while qualitative data were obtained through in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, and participatory observations. The results showed that internal combustion engine instructional tools had a positive and significant effect on cadet competency achievement in three domains: knowledge (Cohen's d = 1.56), practical skills (Cohen's d = 2.68), and learning attitudes (Cohen's d = 1.62). Multivariate analysis showed that the use of internal combustion engine instructional tools explained 68.8% of the variance in the combination of cadet competencies (Wilks' Lambda = 0.312, p<0.001). Qualitative findings identified four main themes: enhanced conceptual understanding, hands-on skills development, increased motivation and engagement, and implementation constraints. Mediation analysis showed that attitude served as a partial mediator in the relationship between instructional tools and competency achievement. The results confirm that internal combustion engine instructional tools are a crucial determinant factor in technical competency achievement, with significant implications for military technical education curriculum development and Indonesian Navy operational readiness.

The rapid development of digital technology has reshaped communication practices in online learning, particularly in language education. Emojis, as a visual symbol widely used in digital interactions, have the potential to enrich emotional expression and participation, but their role in educational contexts remains insufficiently explored. This study aims to investigate how emojis influence students’ emotional expression, engagement, and digital literacy in online language classrooms. To achieve this, a qualitative observational design was employed, focusing on university students participating in online language courses. Data were collected from authentic digital interactions, including chat messages, discussion forums, and collaborative platforms, and were analyzed through content analysis to identify the communicative and pedagogical functions of emojis. The findings indicate that emojis help clarify emotional expression, support comprehension of messages, and encourage active student participation in online discussions. These results demonstrate that emojis not only serve as supplementary tools for digital communication but also contribute to creating a more engaging and supportive learning environment. Synthesizing the main ideas, this study extends the understanding of digital communication theory by highlighting the pedagogical value of emojis beyond their informal use on social media. In conclusion, emojis play a crucial role in strengthening interaction, fostering emotional presence, and enhancing learning outcomes in online language education. The study recommends integrating emojis into digital teaching practices while encouraging further research on cultural variation, learner levels, and diverse digital platforms to maximize their educational potential.
