This study investigates the influence of financial literacy, entrepreneurship training, and financial inclusion on the performance of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through business sustainability. Using a systematic literature review (SLR) examines the impact of financial literacy, entrepreneurship training, and financial inclusion on MSME performance through business sustainability mediation by synthesizing empirical data from 12 research (2020–2025) across Scopus and Web of Science. Positive direct effects on sustainability (financial literacy via budgeting/risk management; training via adaptive resilience; inclusiveness via digital access) and performance metrics like profitability/growth are confirmed by results using the PRISMA 2020 flow.  Amid obstacles like financial access restrictions and COVID-19 disruptions, business sustainability appears as a crucial mediator, linking these factors to improved MSME results in developing contexts (Africa, Indonesia). Practical implications compel policymakers to give integrated literacy programs, contextual training, and inclusive finance top priority. Theoretical contributions combine financial literacy, entrepreneurial learning, and sustainability ideas into a holistic mediation model. The results highlight the importance of integrating financial education, entrepreneurial skill development, and inclusive financial systems to strengthen MSME resilience and competitiveness. This study provides practical implications for policymakers, financial institutions, and support organisations in designing effective interventions that foster sustainable business growth. The research also contributes theoretically by confirming the mediating role of business sustainability in the relationship between financial literacy, entrepreneurship training, financial inclusion, and MSME performance. Future studies may expand these insights by examining additional contextual factors such as digital technology adoption and business networking that further support sustainable MSME development.

The transformation of the digital economy has become a significant phenomenon in Indonesia’s economic development, driven by rapid advances in information and communication technology. The digital economy is viewed as a strategic instrument to accelerate economic growth, enhance financial inclusion, and strengthen the competitiveness of business actors, particularly micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). This study aims to analyze the transformation of the digital economy in Indonesia by examining its opportunities, challenges, and impacts on the national economy. The research adopts a qualitative approach using a literature review method, drawing on relevant national and international academic journals. Data analysis is conducted through a descriptive-qualitative approach by linking empirical findings with the theoretical frameworks of innovation economics and endogenous growth theory. The findings indicate that the digital economy offers substantial opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, financial inclusion, and the creation of new digital-based employment. However, the transformation also faces major challenges, including the digital divide, limited human resource capacity, and issues related to regulation and data security. The implications of this study highlight the importance of strengthening digital infrastructure, enhancing digital literacy and skills, and developing adaptive governance frameworks to ensure that the digital economy contributes optimally and sustainably to Indonesia’s economic development.

This study analyzes the contribution of the nighttime economy to the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Pekanbaru City, particularly the culinary sector, which dominates nighttime economic activity. This research is motivated by the increasing public consumption at night, which shapes urban economic dynamics and requires effective public governance. The research method uses a qualitative approach through literature review and in-depth interviews with nighttime MSMEs to describe business conditions and governance challenges. The analysis is based on Adam Smith's Theory of Economic Growth, emphasizing capital accumulation, population growth, and technological advancement. The results show that nighttime economic activity generates high levels of consumption, which increases MSME income and enables capital accumulation for business development and product quality improvement. Urban population growth and the use of digital technology, including social media, delivery services, and digital payment systems, contribute to expanding market reach and improving business efficiency. However, MSME development in the nighttime economy remains constrained by limited access to capital, inadequate public infrastructure, and regulatory uncertainty. This study emphasizes the need for integrated local government policies.

This study aims to analyze the acceptability, nutritional content, and financial feasibility of processed food products based on kimpul flour (Xanthosoma sagittifolium) and milkfish (Chanos chanos) as a functional local food innovation with potential for development to support food security. Kimpul flour was selected as a substitute for wheat flour due to its complex carbohydrate content, low glycemic index, and dietary fiber beneficial for digestion. Milkfish was utilized as an economical animal protein source rich in omega-3 fatty acids and widely available in Indonesia. The developed products included milkfish risoles, milkfish satay lilit, and kimpul pancake with various substitution formulations, tested using an experimental laboratory method. A hedonic test was conducted with 30 semi-trained panelists to evaluate color, taste, aroma, and texture. Nutritional content was analyzed using the Fat Secret application, while financial feasibility was assessed through a two-year cash flow projection. The results indicated that kimpul flour substitution at 8% in risoles, 10% in satay lilit, and 50% in pancakes yielded the highest acceptability scores based on organoleptic evaluations favored by the panelists. Nutritional analysis demonstrated an increase in dietary fiber and a balanced macronutrient profile. Financial analysis showed that the business is feasible and profitable for development at the micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) scale. This study concludes that kimpul flour and milkfish have strong potential as functional food ingredients with high economic value.

This study aims to analyze the factors determining the growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia through a literature review approach. MSMEs make a significant contribution to the national economy, but their growth still faces various structural barriers. Based on the results of the literature review, it was found that access to capital, human resource quality, managerial capacity, innovation, digitalization, marketing strategies, and government policies are the main factors influencing MSME growth. Limited capital and low financial literacy are dominant obstacles that hinder business expansion. Furthermore, weak managerial capacity and digital competency prevent many MSMEs from optimally exploiting market opportunities. Innovation and the use of digital technology have been proven to increase efficiency and marketing reach, but the adoption rate remains low. External factors such as government regulations, simplified licensing, and support from empowerment programs also play a significant role in creating a conducive business climate. This study emphasizes that MSME development requires a comprehensive approach that integrates internal aspects of business actors and structural government support. The research results are expected to serve as a reference for academics, policymakers, and MSME actors in formulating more effective development strategies.

Financial inclusion has become a key driver in promoting sustainable development, especially in the era of Industry 4.0, which is characterized by rapid digitalization, technological innovation, and the transformation of financial services. Although academic interest in this topic continues to grow, research in this field has not been systematically mapped, resulting in limited understanding of global trends and thematic evolution. This study uses bibliometric analysis (BA) to explore developments, intellectual structures, and key research focuses in financial inclusion research. Data were collected from the Scopus database for the period 2015–2025, using keywords related to financial inclusion, thus ensuring a comprehensive dataset for analysis. Bibliometric methods were applied using analytical tools such as VOSviewer and R Studio to support the assessment. The results of the analysis show a consistent increase in the number of publications over the last decade, reflecting growing academic attention. The main contributions came from India, China, and the United States, with increasing participation from universities in Africa and Southeast Asia through international collaboration. The main research focus has shifted from microfinance and poverty alleviation to more digital-oriented themes, including fintech, digital finance, blockchain, and green finance. This study contributes by mapping the structure and trends of financial inclusion research and providing insights for policymakers and academics in developing inclusive financial systems that support national strategies such as the SNKI, MSME digitalization, and financial literacy programs in Indonesia to achieve sustainable development goals.

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a strategic role as the backbone of Indonesia’s economy through their significant contribution to employment creation and Gross Domestic Product (GDP). However, many MSMEs continue to face structural challenges, including limited managerial capacity, low levels of innovation, and weak adaptation to digital transformation. In response to these challenges, entrepreneurship education has emerged as a strategic instrument for strengthening MSME competitiveness and sustainability. This study aims to analyze the role of entrepreneurship education as a development strategy for MSMEs in supporting Indonesia’s economic growth. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design, this research examines several MSMEs that have participated in entrepreneurship education and training programs organized by government and educational institutions. The findings reveal that entrepreneurship education contributes to strengthening entrepreneurial mindset, improving managerial and financial skills, encouraging business innovation, and enhancing digital technology adoption among MSME actors. Moreover, entrepreneurship education supports business resilience and market expansion, enabling MSMEs to adapt to dynamic economic conditions. These findings indicate that entrepreneurship education is not merely a capacity-building tool, but a strategic policy instrument for developing competitive and sustainable MSMEs. Therefore, the institutionalization of integrated and continuous entrepreneurship education is essential to optimize the role of MSMEs in fostering inclusive and sustainable economic growth in Indonesia.

In Indonesia, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) have long been recognized as a very important business sector due to their various real roles in the economy. However, MSMEs often face many obstacles in running their businesses. More incentive support from various parties, especially the government, is needed for the development of MSMEs. In order to overcome the problems faced by MSMEs and support their sustainability, a KKU (Business Field Study) activity was carried out by Group 15 at the KKU-11 of the Institute of Technology and Business (ITB) Adias Pemalang at the MSME “Ev_Kids Product.”After conducting an observation phase, several problems faced by the SME were identified, including the lack of social media for marketing, failure to calculate the Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and maintain simple accounting records, absence of a business logo, banners, promotional image designs, organizational structure, business profile, product catalog, stamps, receipt books, and product attributes. Additionally, the SME had never produced a production video or promotional video. After conducting the observation phase, KKU actors formulated several business development assistance programs, namely creating social media accounts, calculating the Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), creating simple bookkeeping, creating a business logo, banners, promotional image designs, organizational structure, business profile, product catalog, stamps, note books, and product attributes in the form of hangtags. They also created production videos and promotional videos.

This study aims to analyze the influence of digital financial literacy and digital financial inclusion on the economic sustainability of rural micro-entrepreneurs in Deli Serdang Regency, Indonesia. The rapid development of digital financial services offers new opportunities for rural MSMEs to improve transaction efficiency and expand market access. However, the optimal utilization of these services remains limited due to uneven levels of literacy and digital access. This research employs an explanatory quantitative approach using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS), based on survey data collected from rural business actors who have used at least one digital financial service. The findings indicate a very strong predictive accuracy of the model, with an R-Square value of 0.945 for economic sustainability. Digital financial literacy has a positive and significant effect on digital financial inclusion (β = 0.273; p = 0.001) and on economic sustainability (β = 0.235; p = 0.000). Digital financial inclusion also positively and significantly influences economic sustainability (β = 0.398; p = 0.000). These results demonstrate that improved digital literacy and wider use of services such as e-wallets, QRIS, and mobile banking enhance business resilience and expand economic opportunities for rural MSMEs. Overall, the study underscores the importance of strengthening digital capacities and expanding access to digital financial services as key strategies for advancing inclusive and sustainable rural economic development.

Baitul Maal wat Tamwil (BMT) is an Islamic microfinance institution that plays an essential role in expanding financial access for low-income communities and supporting sustainable economic development. This article aims to analyze the role of BMT as an inclusive monetary instrument within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The study employs a library research approach with descriptive-analytical methods based on secondary data from books, academic journals, research reports, and official documents. The findings show that BMT significantly contributes to financial inclusion through real-sector-based Islamic financing, especially for micro-enterprises and low-income households. Moreover, BMT’s social function—realized through the management of zakat, infaq, and sadaqah—strengthens income redistribution, poverty alleviation, and community welfare. BMT supports several SDG targets, particularly in reducing poverty, creating decent employment, developing MSMEs, and minimizing socioeconomic inequality. However, the optimization of BMT’s role still faces challenges such as limited capital, governance constraints, digital transformation, and institutional strengthening. Therefore, synergy between BMT, the government, regulators, and the community is needed to enhance BMT’s contribution as an inclusive, sustainable, and Sharia-compliant economic development agent.

Business legality is a very important component in the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Business legality provides MSME players with legal protection, easier access to financing, and greater opportunities for growth. The Business Identification Number (NIB) is the official identity of business actors used to obtain business licenses and commercial or operational permits through an integrated electronic licensing system, namely Online Single Submission (OSS). The objective of this community service program is to increase the understanding and awareness of MSME actors in Kelayu Selatan Village, Selong District, East Lombok Regency, regarding business legality, particularly the creation of an NIB. To support more efficient assistance tailored to the needs of each business operator, this activity was conducted door-to-door and included several stages, such as observation and data collection on MSMEs, dissemination of information on the importance of business legality, assistance in creating OSS accounts, and assistance in the application process until the issuance of the NIB. The results of the activity showed an increase in awareness and knowledge about the importance of business legality. It is hoped that this program will encourage MSMEs to transform into formal businesses that are competitive and sustainable.

This research seeks to examine the policy of strengthening Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) via the Pejuang Muda initiative to boost local economic competitiveness in Surabaya City. The initiative showcases a partnership between local governments, universities, and communities, emphasizing capacity enhancement through mentoring, training, and digitalization of businesses. This study utilized a qualitative approach through a case study method. Data were gathered via thorough interviews with representatives from the Department of Cooperatives and MSMEs, Pejuang Muda participants, and supported business owners. The results indicate that the program notably enhanced managerial capabilities, product innovation, and market accessibility for MSMEs. Additionally, collaboration across sectors has enhanced the program’s sustainability and fostered a responsive local economic ecosystem to adjust to global market shifts. Nonetheless, obstacles persist in consistent policy and sustainable funding strategies. In general, the Pejuang Muda initiative exemplifies empowerment by merging social, educational, and economic principles within a local development framework centered on self-sufficiency and youth engagement. The research suggests implementing the program in additional areas with improved inter-agency collaboration, supportive policy measures, and fortified digital infrastructure to guarantee the ongoing sustainability of local economic development.

This study aims to analyze the effect of using the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) on improving financial inclusion among Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in North Toraja Regency. The research is motivated by the rapid development of digital payment systems, which have not been optimally adopted by MSMEs in tourism areas. QRIS, as a non-cash payment innovation, is expected to expand access tofinancial services, enhance transaction efficiency, and encourage MSMEs’ participation in the formal financial system. This study employs a quantitative approach using a survey method involving 35 handicraft MSMEs in the Ke’te Kesu’ tourism area, selected through a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected using a five-point Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed with SPSS version 25 through validity and reliability tests, descriptive analysis, classical assumption tests, and simple linear regression. The results indicate that QRIS usage has a positive and significant effect on financial inclusion, with a correlation coefficient (R) of 0.758 and a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.575. The t-test shows a significance value of < 0.05. These findings support the Financial Deepening theory and the financial inclusion concept, which emphasize access, affordability, and usage of financial services. Thus, QRIS serves as an important instrument in promoting digital transformation and enhancing financial inclusion among MSMEs in North Toraja Regency.

Kajian Ekonomi dan Akuntansi Terapan 2025 Asosiasi Riset Ekonomi dan Akuntansi Indonesia

This study examines the differences between Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and large corporations in utilizing e-commerce platforms for digital promotion, particularly through collaborations with influencers. The rapid development of digital technology has reshaped business competition and created unequal access to market opportunities, where corporations benefit from strong financial capacity, formal contractual structures, and comprehensive legal compliance, while MSMEs often struggle with limited resources, inconsistent product legality, and informal promotional arrangements. This research aims to analyze comparative practices in digital promotion between the two business scales and evaluate how regulatory frameworks support digital fairness for MSMEs within Indonesia’s e-commerce ecosystem. Using a qualitative method that combines literature review and in-depth interviews with three influencers, the study reveals significant distinctions in collaboration patterns, compensation systems, marketing flexibility, and legal assurance. The findings indicate that MSMEs exhibit higher adaptability and openness toward emerging creators, whereas corporations demonstrate stronger professionalism but lower responsiveness due to bureaucratic structures. The research further highlights persistent digital inequality shaped by differences in legal awareness, operational capacity, and marketing strategy. These findings imply the importance of enhancing MSME digital literacy, strengthening contractual governance, and improving regulatory responsiveness to ensure equitable participation in the digital market. Strengthening cooperative efforts between government, digital platforms, and influencer communities is essential for building a fairer and more inclusive e-commerce environment.

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a vital role in Indonesia's economic development. However, many MSMEs still face challenges in managing financial records and adapting to digital marketing, including the Cilor Maklor MSME in Argomulyo Village. The Cilor Maklor MSME in this location is one of the micro-enterprises that requires capacity building in both aspects. The main objective of this community service is to assist the Cilor Maklor MSME in understanding and implementing simple financial record-keeping methods and in improving its marketing capabilities through digital marketing, so that the MSME can adapt to current developments and expand its market reach. The method used in this activity includes three stages, namely: 1) MSME Survey, 2) Training and Mentoring, and 3) Evaluation. The results of the community service show an increase in MSMEs' knowledge, understanding, and skills in recording simple financial reports and in marketing products through digital platforms. In addition, this community service activity also has a positive impact on business capacity development and the sustainability of MSMEs.
