The use of chemical pesticides in modern agriculture in Indonesia has a negative impact on the environment and health. To address this issue, students from the 24th Community Service Program (KKN) of Raja Ali Haji Maritime University (UMRAH) held a training session on making plant-based pesticides from papaya leaves in Kota Baru Village, Bintan. This activity aimed to provide environmentally friendly and easy-to-apply pest control solutions to local farmer groups. The training involved agricultural extension workers from the Bintan Regency Food Security and Agriculture Office as resource persons. The results of this training are expected to increase farmers' knowledge and skills in utilizing papaya leaves as natural pesticides, reducing the use of chemical pesticides, and realizing more sustainable and environmentally friendly agriculture in Kota Baru Village. Despite obstacles in community participation, this activity succeeded in sparking farmers' interest in applying plant-based pesticides in their crop cultivation.

This study aims to examine the influence of word of mouth on buying interest and its impact on the purchase decision of Muzan Net wi-fi services. This study uses three main variables, namely independent variables, bound variables, and intervening variables. The free variable is word of mouth, the bound variable is the purchase decision, while the intervening variable is the buying interest. The research sample consisted of 55 consumer respondents who knew and used the Muzan Net wi-fi service in Sanggrahan Village. Research data was obtained through questionnaires, observations, and interviews, with sampling techniques using the simple random sampling method. Data analysis is carried out through several stages, namely measurement or outer model, structural model or inner model, and hypothesis test. The results of the study show that word of mouth has a positive and significant effect on buying interest. Furthermore, word of mouth also has a positive but not insignificant effect directly on the purchase decision. Meanwhile, buying interest has been proven to have a positive and significant effect on purchase decisions. In addition, buying interest is able to mediate the relationship between word of mouth and purchase decisions, thereby strengthening the role of word of mouth in encouraging consumers to finally make a purchase decision. This research provides practical benefits for companies in maximizing word-of-mouth-based marketing strategies, as well as a reference for future research to develop similar studies with different objects, locations, and variables.

The phenomenon of TikTok content aesthetics has emerged as a new strategy in tourism promotion, including in Labuan Bajo. However, not all content produced has appealing aesthetic quality. Many videos still appear monotonous, lack creativity, or fail to highlight local uniqueness. As a result, some content falls short in building a strong destination image and instead gets lost in the increasingly saturated digital content competition. This research aims to examine in depth how the aesthetics of TikTok content contribute to increasing tourist interest in visiting Labuan Bajo, one of Indonesia’s super-priority destinations. Labuan Bajo was chosen as a case study not only because of its world-class tourism appeal but also because it is currently being actively promoted through digital branding strategies. The study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through TikTok content observation, in-depth interviews with content creators and local tourism stakeholders, as well as literature analysis on smart tourism and destination branding. This approach was selected to uncover the underlying meaning behind aesthetic content strategies while also highlighting the challenges faced in their implementation. The findings reveal that the aesthetics of TikTok content play a significant role in building a positive image of Labuan Bajo, enhancing its visual appeal, and creating emotional connections between prospective tourists and the destination. Nevertheless, the research also identifies challenges such as limited digital literacy, uneven content quality, and the risk of narrative homogenization that may reduce local uniqueness. Based on these findings, the study recommends the development of destination branding strategies that are more adaptive to social media trends, including the creation of aesthetic guidelines rooted in local culture, digital literacy training for tourism stakeholders, and close collaboration between government, industry, and content creators. Through these efforts, Labuan Bajo has the potential to strengthen its position as a leading world-class destination.

This study aims to determine the relationship between firm size, profitability, and debt policy on company value at PT. KMI Wire and Cable, Tbk. for the 2017–2024 period. Company value is the main focus because it reflects the company’s overall performance and can attract investor interest and perception. Firm size is measured by the natural logarithm of total assets (LN), profitability is measured by return on equity (ROE), debt policy is measured by debt-to-equity ratio (DER), and company value is measured by price-to-book value (PBV). This research employs a quantitative method using multiple linear regression analysis to examine the causal relationship between variables. The data used are secondary data in the form of quarterly financial reports of PT. KMI Wire and Cable, Tbk. during the study period. The results of the study indicate that firm size has a negative and significant effect on company value, while profitability and debt policy show a positive and significant effect. Simultaneously, firm size, profitability, and debt policy jointly have a positive and significant effect on company value. These findings highlight the importance of balancing company growth with efficient asset management and optimal capital structure to ensure long-term financial stability. Moreover, the study contributes to empirical evidence supporting Trade-Off Theory and Pecking Order Theory, showing how capital structure decisions and profitability management can shape investor perception and firm valuation. This study provides practical insights for management in designing strategies to optimize capital structure, strengthen profitability, and manage debt responsibly to enhance firm value and investor confidence.

The application of restorative justice by the police in cases of assault is based on Indonesian National Police Regulation Number 8 of 2021 concerning Handling Criminal Acts Based on Restorative Justice. This regulation provides a basis for investigators in resolving criminal cases by exploring the values of justice that exist in society. This study aims to analyze the application of restorative justice by the police in cases of assault and the inhibiting factors. The research method uses a normative juridical and empirical juridical approach, with secondary data through library research and primary data through field studies. The results indicate that the resolution of cases of assault complies with the provisions of the regulation, as both formal and material requirements are met, and a peace agreement exists between the perpetrator and victim. This process adopts local wisdom values by involving the perpetrator, victim, their respective families, and community leaders. However, obstacles to its implementation exist, including third-party intervention from the victim's family, the perpetrator's limited financial capacity, external interests, lack of community understanding, and communication barriers between the perpetrator and victim. Therefore, specific regulations regarding restorative justice are needed, incorporated into criminal procedural law provisions, for example through the Criminal Procedure Code (RKUHAP), to provide a strong legal basis and ensure legal certainty.

This study analyzes the public relations efforts of Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) Banten in maintaining its existence in the digital era and identifies the inhibiting factors faced. Using a qualitative method with a case study approach, this research involved in-depth interviews with informants from various divisions at RRI Banten, as well as observations of the communication strategies and programs implemented. The results of the study indicate that RRI Banten has undertaken a significant digital transformation, including through the development of the RRI Digital application as a means to expand broadcast access, active use of social media to reach a wider audience, and the implementation of a broadcast program segmentation strategy to adapt to the needs and preferences of listeners from various groups. However, the study also identified several crucial inhibiting factors. Limited human resources, particularly in mastery of digital technology, remain a major obstacle in optimizing the transformation program. In addition, the uneven geographic coverage of broadcasts in some areas limits public access to RRI services. Increasingly fierce competition with other digital media that offer greater flexibility, speed, and interactivity also poses a major challenge. On the other hand, the lack of optimal digital promotion and difficulties in reaching the interests of the younger generation hamper the increase in RRI's popularity in the era of media digitalization.

Public policies in the fields of health, environment, and safety are increasingly subject to disputes through the Investor-State Dispute Settlement (ISDS) mechanism. However, state efforts to protect the public often face claims from investors who consider themselves harmed. This situation carries serious consequences, as states not only bear high litigation costs but may also be required to pay significantly larger compensation if they lose the dispute. This gives rise to regulatory chill, a condition in which governments delay, weaken, or revoke regulations due to concerns over potential investment disputes. Even when some cases result in a state victory, the potential for regulatory chill remains significant, as investors do not need to win disputes to create regulatory uncertainty and pressure policymakers. This phenomenon can manifest in three forms precedential chill, anticipatory chill, and specific response chill, each affecting the policy-making process differently. Regulatory chill narrows the regulatory space, limits state capacity to protect public interests, and creates a deterrent effect on the implementation of new regulations. Using a normative juridical approach enriched with comparative case studies, this paper examines three primary sources of regulatory chill: the economic burden of arbitration and potential compensation, long-term commitments, and institutional limitations in meeting the standard of fair and equitable treatment.

The Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata / KKN) of Universitas Tidar Group 23 in Giriwetan Village, Grabag District, Magelang Regency, was conducted for one month (July 3–August 3, 2025) with the aim of strengthening students’ interest in pursuing higher education at SD Negeri Giriwetan. This topic is important due to the low motivation of students in rural areas, influenced by economic limitations, lack of information, and insufficient environmental support. The study employed a qualitative method through observation, interviews, and documentation to describe the process and impact of the program. Activities included coloring and creating environmental-themed posters, song creation training using Artificial Intelligence (AI), and developing a “Tree of Hopes” containing students’ aspirations. The results indicate an increase in learning motivation, awareness of the importance of education, and interest in technology. The program proved effective through its creative and participatory approach, despite limitations in time and scope. These findings highlight the importance of sustaining similar structured programs to achieve broader and long-term impacts. Furthermore, the program was not only beneficial for students but also had a positive effect on teachers and the surrounding community. Teachers gained exposure to innovative teaching methods and technology-based learning media that can be adapted in future classes. Parents and community leaders became more aware of the role of family and environment in supporting children’s education. The collaboration between university students and local stakeholders created a sense of collective responsibility in shaping the younger generation. In addition, the integration of Artificial Intelligence as a learning tool sparked curiosity among students and introduced them to the relevance of technology in daily life. The Children’s Reading and Learning Corner program is a community service activity implemented by Group 7 of the Community Service Program (KKN) from Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 Jakarta in Kalibaru Subdistrict, North Jakarta. This program was designed to address the challenge of low reading interest and the limited access to learning facilities among children in the local community. The main target of the activity was children aged 5–8 years, with the objective of increasing reading interest, strengthening basic cognitive skills, and fostering positive learning habits from an early age. The program was carried out through interactive learning methods with a thematic approach, combined with group discussions, question-and-answer sessions, shared reading, and simple practices that encouraged active participation. The learning materials covered Basic Mathematics, Indonesian Language, and General Knowledge, all adjusted to the children’s comprehension levels. In addition, a coloring competition was held to foster creativity, train fine motor skills, and create a fun and engaging learning atmosphere. Evaluation results indicated a significant improvement in children’s enthusiasm for learning, better understanding of the provided materials, and more active involvement during the sessions. The children also demonstrated increased self-confidence, particularly when asked to read aloud or answer questions in front of their peers. Furthermore, the provision of a bookshelf in the community hall became a strategic step to establish a sustainable reading space that could be used outside of program hours. Overall, the program successfully achieved its intended goals and is considered feasible to be expanded to other areas. Additional support in the form of a wider collection of books, more creative learning media, and consistent community involvement will be key factors in ensuring the sustainability and long-term impact of the program.

Mining activities in Mandailing Natal Regency, particularly in Kota Nopan, Huta Bargot, and Batang Natal Districts, play a significant role in the local economy while simultaneously generating complex legal, environmental, and social problems. Despite the existence of comprehensive national regulations such as the Mineral and Coal Mining Law and regional bylaws, enforcement remains weak, as indicated by the persistence of illegal mining (PETI), environmental degradation, and conflicts of interest among various stakeholders. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of mining law enforcement by employing a juridical-empirical approach that combines the review of statutory regulations, secondary data, and field observations in three sample districts. The findings reveal that law enforcement is far from optimal due to structural constraints, including limited institutional capacity and inconsistent implementation, as well as cultural and economic factors, such as the community’s dependence on mining as a primary livelihood. Moreover, political and economic interests often weaken oversight and create selective enforcement, further widening the gap between regulation and practice. The study emphasizes that law enforcement in the mining sector should not rely solely on repressive measures but must be integrated with community empowerment, sustainable livelihood alternatives, and the strengthening of institutional governance. Therefore, reforming regional regulations, improving inter-agency coordination, enhancing law enforcement capacity, and ensuring active community participation are crucial steps to build legal, fair, and sustainable mining governance in Mandailing Natal.

This qualitative literature review investigates the impact of the 'invest-and-harvest' pricing pattern on mortgage lending decisions and market regulation policies. The analysis reveals that lenders often offer low-interest rates to attract new borrowers while charging higher rates to loyal renewers, influenced by search and switching frictions. These dynamics significantly affect market competition and have crucial policy implications. The study highlights the need for adaptive public policies that consider these pricing strategies to enhance market efficiency and fairness. Additionally, borrower heterogeneity plays a vital role, with lower-income and lower-credit-score borrowers benefiting more from long-term contracts. Despite its insights, the study is limited by its reliance on existing literature and its focus on developed markets, suggesting the need for further research in diverse contexts.

Basic literacy issues remain a global challenge, as evidenced by the results of the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), which place Indonesia at a low rank in reading proficiency. This condition highlights the urgency of literacy as a fundamental competency for elementary school students, particularly in Indonesia. A similar phenomenon is observed in the city of Semarang, where students demonstrate low reading interest, limited access to reading materials, and reliance on conventional teaching methods. In this context, the presence of the SOUL Literacy Community holds strategic potential to support the enhancement of students’ reading and writing skills. This community service initiative aims to empower the SOUL Literacy Community by strengthening the capacities of teachers, students, and the community in developing literacy programs. The methods employed include Participatory Action Research (PAR) and Participatory Community Appraisal (PCA), implemented through preparation, training, mentoring, and evaluation stages. The program results indicate increased community capacity in formulating literacy agendas, improved student interest and skills in reading and writing, and enhanced teacher confidence in applying interactive literacy strategies. Furthermore, the program successfully established a participatory literacy model that strengthens school–community collaboration and can be replicated in other regions. In conclusion, this initiative contributes to the development of a sustainable literacy ecosystem and supports the achievement of SDG 4 on quality education.
