This study was motivated by the high number of stunted children found in stunting locations, namely in Kelurahan Kahean and Sigulang-gulang, Kecamatan Siantar Utara, Kota Pematangsiantar. This study also found indications of inadequate parenting patterns in terms of nutrition and child health care. This condition is a serious concern because stunting not only affects children's physical growth but also influences their cognitive development and future quality of life. To understand this phenomenon in depth, this study used a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, literature studies, and documentation, involving six main informants. The results of the study revealed that 4 of the 6 parents with stunted children practiced inadequate parenting, particularly neglectful parenting, which was the most dominant parenting style. This neglectful parenting style was characterized by a lack of adequate supervision and attention to providing nutritious food and health care for children. Parents who apply this parenting style tend to consistently ignore their children's nutritional and health needs, thereby increasing the risk of stunting. In addition, some parents also apply a permissive parenting style, which is characterized by allowing children to freely choose food without clear boundaries or rules. As a result, children often consume unhealthy foods and have irregular eating schedules. In addition to parenting factors, limited socioeconomic conditions also exacerbate the risk of stunting. Parents' low level of knowledge about balanced nutrition and child health care further increases the likelihood of children experiencing stunting. This shows that economic and educational factors are major obstacles in efforts to prevent stunting in the Kecamatan Siantar Utara.

Conflict is a universal phenomenon that emerges in various aspects of life, ranging from education, social interactions, and law to ecological systems. Its complex dynamics require a deeper understanding of both the underlying sources and levels of conflict to enable constructive management. This study aims to systematically review the literature on conflict with a focus on two key aspects: *sources of conflict* and *levels of conflict*. The method employed is a literature review by searching articles through Google Scholar and Publish or Perish (PoP) using the keywords “sources of conflict” and “levels of conflict.” From an initial pool of 30 articles, screening was conducted based on relevance, recency (2019–2025), and open access availability. The final selection yielded 7 articles for in-depth analysis. The findings indicate that sources of conflict include internal factors (psychological, values, communication), external factors (ecological, socio-cultural), and structural dimensions (legal, political). Levels of conflict were identified at the intrapersonal, interpersonal, group, and structural levels. This review highlights that conflict is a multidisciplinary phenomenon requiring integrative examination. The implications suggest the need for developing a cross-disciplinary conceptual framework to understand conflict comprehensively and to provide a stronger basis for more effective resolution strategies.

Hypertension is a condition in which systolic blood pressure exceeds 140 mmHg and diastolic pressure exceeds 90 mmHg persistently. Uncontrolled high blood pressure can cause disorders in the circulatory system and vital organs such as the heart and brain. One non-pharmacological effort to lower blood pressure in hypertensive patients is through deep breathing relaxation exercises, performed twice a day for ten minutes. RSU Siaga Medika Purbalingga, located in Padamara District, has recorded the highest number of hypertension cases in the area, totaling 4,470 patients. Based on a preliminary survey, many hypertensive patients were unaware of the benefits of deep breathing relaxation therapy; therefore, a Community Service (PkM) activity was conducted in the hospital’s Internal Medicine Clinic. The method involved educational sessions using lectures and demonstrations, supported by leaflets and videos. Participants’ knowledge was evaluated using pretest and posttest questionnaires. The results showed that most respondents were female (60%) and aged between 46–55 years (40%). Knowledge levels significantly improved, from the “low” category (40%) before education to the “good” category (90%) after education. Thus, deep breathing relaxation therapy has the potential to be an effective alternative method to help reduce blood pressure in patients with hypertension.

Environmental sanitation and hygiene are crucial for preventing skin and infectious diseases, especially in coastal areas. This has led to increased interest in developing environmentally friendly natural alternatives. Mangrove leaves have been studied for their significant antibacterial properties due to bioactive compounds such as saponins and flavonoids. Buti Village is one of the coastal villages with mangrove potential. Although several previous studies have confirmed the technical feasibility of mangrove-based products, there is limited literature on empirical dissemination strategies and community responses, particularly in the 3T (Frontier, Outermost, and Disadvantaged) areas. This study addresses this gap by evaluating dissemination strategies and community responses to innovative mangrove-based soap and hand sanitizer products in Buti Village, Merauke, South Papua. Using a quantitative descriptive approach supported by qualitative research, the study involved a purposive sample of 40 local residents. The dissemination strategy included participatory training, product demonstrations, and educational brochures. Findings showed a high level of acceptance, with 86% of respondents accepting the product, and a significant level of self-reliance, with 81% of participants able to independently produce soap and hand sanitizer products. This demonstrates that a participatory, educational, and locally-based approach is effective in building knowledge and positive attitudes toward environmentally friendly innovations. This research demonstrates that these innovations have significant potential to become sustainable community-based small businesses that can strengthen the local economy while promoting mangrove conservation.

This study aims to examine the relationship between paternal involvement and bullying victimization in Pharmacy students in West Sumatra. Using a quantitative approach, this study involved 320 respondents selected from various Pharmacy colleges in the region. The research instrument was independently developed by the researcher, with the paternal involvement scale compiled based on Lamb's (2010) theory which includes the dimensions of direct involvement, emotional availability, and paternal responsibility. Meanwhile, the scale of bullying victimization refers to the theory of Smith et al. (1999), which includes forms of physical, verbal, social, and cyber victimization. Data analysis was conducted using the Pearson correlation technique, which showed a significant negative association between paternal involvement and bullying victimization (r = -0.728; p = 0.000). These findings indicate that the higher the level of father's involvement in a child's life, the lower the likelihood of the child experiencing bullying victimization. On the other hand, low involvement of fathers can increase the risk of students becoming victims of bullying. The results of this study make an important contribution to understanding the role of fathers as a protective factor against victimization behavior, as well as being the basis for the development of family interventions in the context of higher education. This research also opens up space for further studies on family dynamics and student mental health.

In the era of globalization, the widespread use of digital gadgets has significantly influenced students’ daily lives, including their learning processes. This study aims to evaluate the prevalence of gadget addiction among students at Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTS) and to examine its potential impact on their ability to recite the Qur’an. A quantitative approach with a correlational research design was employed to identify the association between gadget addiction and Qur’an reading proficiency. The participants consisted of 122 students selected through convenience sampling from one MTS institution in Cirebon Regency. The instrument for measuring gadget addiction contained 11 items, while the Qur’an reading ability test consisted of 12 items, with a reliability coefficient of 0.593. Data analysis included descriptive statistics to describe the distribution of scores and inferential statistics, specifically the correlation test, to determine the relationship between the two variables. The results revealed that 77% of students experienced a high level of gadget addiction, while 15% demonstrated low levels, and 8% fell into the moderate category. In terms of Qur’an recitation ability, 63% of the students were classified in the low category, 35% in the moderate category, and only 2% in the high category. The correlation analysis produced a coefficient of -0.544**, indicating a moderately strong negative relationship between gadget addiction and Qur’an reading ability (range 0.400–0.599). The two-tailed significance value (p = 0.000 < 0.05) confirmed the statistical significance of this finding. Overall, the study highlights that greater gadget addiction is associated with lower Qur’an reading proficiency, whereas lower levels of gadget use are linked to improved recitation skills. These findings suggest the urgent need for educational interventions and parental guidance to balance gadget usage and ensure the strengthening of Qur’anic literacy among students.

The Emergency Severity Index (ESI) is a triage method that determines the escalation of treatment for patients based on the severity of their emergency condition. In order to improve the level of satisfaction of individuals receiving health services, it is necessary to provide quality services that are responsive to the expectations and needs of patients. This study aims to explore the relationship between the ESI (Emergency Severity Index) level and patient satisfaction in the Emergency Room of Pertamedika Ummi Rosnati Hospital. The research design applied is analytical with a cross-sectional method. From a total population of 500 patients in December, 51 respondents were selected using purposive sampling. The instruments used included the ESI (Emergency Severity Index) Questionnaire and CSQ-8 (Client Satisfaction Questionnaire), with univariate and bivariate data analysis using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that in the high ESI index category, most participants (37 people or 92.5%) expressed satisfaction with the services received, while 3 people (7.5%) were dissatisfied. In the moderate ESI group, 9 respondents (90.0%) reported satisfaction, while only 1 respondent (10.0%) reported dissatisfaction. Conversely, in the mild ESI level, there were no patients who were satisfied (0%), and one patient (20.0%) was dissatisfied. Through analysis using the Chi-Square statistical test, a ρ value of 0.009 (≤ 0.05) was obtained, indicating a significant relationship between ESI levels and patient satisfaction. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that there is a correlation between ESI classification and the level of satisfaction of service users in the Emergency Department. The researchers recommend that patients gain a better understanding of the ESI stages, and the Emergency Department is expected to provide education, such as putting up informative banners related to ESI (Emergency Severity Index) to increase patient understanding of the triage process in the Emergency Department.

Obesity among college students is a public health issue that is gaining increasing attention because it is associated with an increased risk of chronic diseases such as diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and heart disease, and can reduce quality of life and academic productivity. College students, as a group of early adults, are in a transition phase towards independence and are therefore vulnerable to lifestyle changes, including unhealthy eating patterns, fast food consumption, low physical activity due to busy studies, irregular sleep habits, and high academic stress. This study aims to determine the risk factors associated with obesity among students at the Islamic University of Ogan Komering Ilir in 2025. This study used a cross-sectional design with a quantitative approach. A sample of 95 students was selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire and body mass index (BMI) measurement to determine respondents' nutritional status. Independent variables included diet, physical activity, sleep quality, stress levels, and a family history of obesity. The results showed a prevalence of obesity of 17.9%. Bivariate analysis found a significant association between obesity and unhealthy diet (p=0.002), low physical activity (p=0.000), poor sleep quality (p=0.000), and high stress levels (p=0.001). Meanwhile, a family history of obesity showed a tendency to have an effect but was not statistically significant. These findings indicate that obesity in college students is largely influenced by modifiable lifestyle factors. Therefore, this study emphasizes the importance of health promotion interventions on campus, such as balanced nutrition counseling, increased access to sports facilities, stress management, and education on healthy sleep patterns. Promotive and preventive efforts undertaken from a young age are expected to reduce the risk of obesity and chronic disease in the future.
