This community service program aimed to strengthen national insight and soft skills among ADik scholarship students through a participatory and reflective mentoring approach. Many students come from underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost regions with diverse socio-cultural backgrounds, requiring contextual guidance to internalize national values and develop essential interpersonal competencies. The program combined interactive socialization, group discussions, and value reflection activities to encourage active participation and personal engagement. The method emphasized dialogic learning rather than one-way lectures, allowing students to relate national values to their lived experiences. The findings revealed noticeable behavioral changes, including increased confidence in expressing opinions, stronger participation in discussions, improved communication skills, and heightened awareness of ethical conduct and financial responsibility as scholarship recipients. The emergence of several students as informal local leaders during discussions indicated early signs of social transformation at the individual level. This program demonstrates that reflective and participatory mentoring can effectively foster character building, leadership, and contextual national awareness among university students. The implications suggest that similar approaches can be adopted in student development programs to promote sustainable character formation, especially for students from diverse and remote regions.

This research explores how the theology of embodiment in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 can serve as a biblical foundation for integrating the embodied dimension in Christian Religious Education (CRE) pedagogy. The research background is the tendency of CRE in Indonesia to be highly cognitive-centric and neglect the embodied dimension, despite contemporary research showing the importance of sensory experience in constructing religious experience. The research objective is to conceptually explore the theological foundation and pedagogical implications of the theology of embodiment for CRE. The research method is library research with grammatical-historical exegesis analysis of 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 and conceptual synthesis with embodied cognition theory and body pedagogics. The findings show that the body has intrinsic sacred value as the temple of the Holy Spirit and the glorification of God occurs explicitly through the body. Religious knowledge is embodied, rooted in sensory-motor experience. The pedagogical implication is that CRE needs to integrate systematic embodied practices such as somatic inversion, participatory rituals, and cultivation of enactive mastery for experientially transformative learning. This research contributes theoretically by bridging biblical exegesis and embodied cognition theory, and provides practical direction for developing holistic CRE that integrates the body as an authentic and biblical medium for learning faith.

Studies on Eucharistic Adoration have predominantly emphasized its role as a personal devotional practice and individual spirituality, while its implications for Catholic Religious Education as a space for faith formation remain underexplored. This gap indicates the need for a theological-pedagogical reflection that connects Eucharistic Adoration with the process of faith education, particularly in the context of young people. This study aims to examine Eucharistic Adoration as an expression of Sacramentum Caritatis and its relevance as a formative space within Catholic Religious Education. The research employs a qualitative approach through a library research method, analyzing Church documents, theological works, and relevant academic literature on the Eucharist, faith education, and psycho-spiritual well-being. The findings reveal that Eucharistic Adoration is not merely a liturgical or devotional practice but also holds significant pedagogical value. It can be understood as a contemplative space that enables young people to experience a personal relationship with Christ, reflect on their inner experiences, and deepen their awareness of God’s transformative love. Furthermore, this study indicates that Eucharistic Adoration has the potential to support psycho-spiritual well-being by providing moments of silence, self-acceptance, and meaning-making in the light of faith. These findings highlight that integrating Eucharistic Adoration into Catholic Religious Education can enrich faith learning processes and help young people live their faith in a more personal and holistic manner. This study contributes to theological and educational discourse by positioning Eucharistic Adoration as a relevant practice of faith formation within contemporary Catholic education.

This study investigates code-switching strategies between Indonesian and the Maumere local language in academic Indonesian language learning at the university level. In many higher education contexts, the dominance of standard Indonesian as the sole medium of instruction often creates cognitive, linguistic, and cultural distance for students who come from strong local language backgrounds. This qualitative study aims to describe the forms, pedagogical functions, and academic implications of Maumere–Indonesian code-switching in classroom interaction. Employing a case study design, data were collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews with lecturers and students, and analysis of learning documents. The findings reveal that code-switching occurs systematically at the opening of lessons, during the explanation of abstract concepts, and in small-group discussions. The Maumere language functions as a cognitive and affective bridge that facilitates comprehension, increases student participation, and strengthens academic literacy. The study concludes that pedagogically controlled code-switching supports additive bilingualism and contributes positively to inclusive, contextual, and culturally responsive academic learning in multilingual higher education settings.

Dinamika Pembelajaran : Jurnal Pendidikan dan bahasa 2026 Lembaga Pengembangan Kinerja Dosen

This study examines Indonesian as a pillar of academic identity and the urgency of revitalizing students' language attitudes and ethics in the digital era. The rapid development of digital communication has influenced students' language practices in academic contexts, which tend to lead to the use of informal, impolite language that does not reflect academic ethics. This study aims to describe students' language attitudes, academic communication patterns, and the level of awareness of language ethics in the use of Indonesian in higher education. This study used a qualitative approach with participatory observation techniques and in-depth interviews with students. The results show that students basically have normative knowledge of good and correct Indonesian, but this knowledge has not been consistently internalized in academic communication practices, especially in the digital space. The dominant digital communication culture has weakened students' sensitivity to politeness, ethics, and language professionalism. Furthermore, Indonesian language learning in higher education is still more oriented towards the technical aspects of writing than the formation of academic attitudes and identities. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of revitalizing Indonesian language learning that is contextual, reflective, and oriented towards strengthening students' attitudes, ethics, and academic identities in the digital era.

Working memory (WM) has been extensively studied as a cognitive factor influencing second language acquisition (SLA), but many studies treat it as a static, trait-like capacity. This approach provides limited insight into how WM works across different stages of development, proficiency levels, and learning contexts. This article combines theoretical and empirical research on working memory in SLA from a dynamic and developmental perspective, analyzing how the influence of WM varies over time and interacts with other cognitive and contextual factors. Referencing Baddeley's multicomponent model, complex dynamic systems theory, and longitudinal research, this article examines evidence regarding the role of WM in various language domains, including vocabulary learning, grammar processing, and language production. It also investigates how WM works differently at various proficiency levels and developmental periods, from childhood to adulthood. Evidence suggests that WM plays a very strong role in the early stages of learning when processing is effortful and controlled, but becomes less central as linguistic knowledge becomes automated. The relationship between WM and SLA appears to be bidirectional, with sustained language learning contributing to the development of specific WM components, particularly executive control. The influence of WM varies significantly based on task characteristics, teaching context, and learner profiles. Understanding WM as a dynamic resource rather than a fixed constraint has important pedagogical implications. Instructions that manage cognitive load, provide support, and encourage metacognitive awareness can help learners with diverse cognitive profiles. A developmental approach in WM research requires longitudinal designs and task-aligned methodologies to capture changes over time, thereby advancing theory and practice in SLA.
