Psychological well-being is a fundamental construct in individual development; however, within guidance and counseling practice it is often positioned merely as an indirect outcome of problem-focused interventions. Philosophically and empirically, psychological well-being holds substantial potential to be established as a primary goal of guidance and counseling services. This article aims to examine psychological well-being as an axiological objective of guidance and counseling through a philosophy of science perspective supported by recent empirical evidence. The method employed is a literature review of scholarly publications from the last eight years retrieved through Google Scholar. Eleven relevant articles were selected and analyzed using thematic synthesis to identify conceptual patterns and empirical findings related to psychological well-being in the context of guidance and counseling. The results indicate that psychological well-being is conceptualized as a long-term developmental outcome reflecting holistic human functioning, encompassing dimensions such as autonomy, purpose in life, personal growth, environmental mastery, self-acceptance, and positive relations with others. Various guidance and counseling interventions particularly those based on mindfulness and positive psychology interventions have been empirically demonstrated to effectively enhance eudaimonic well-being. From an axiological perspective, psychological well-being possesses strong value foundations and aligns with the ethical mandate of guidance and counseling to promote optimal human development. This article underscores the necessity of a paradigm shift in guidance and counseling practice, moving from a predominantly problem-oriented approach toward a well-being-oriented framework in which psychological well-being is positioned as a central and explicit goal of professional services.

This qualitative inquiry examines the deliberate operational timing adopted by street vendors selling martabak, a popular Indonesian snack, exploring why nocturnal hours are strategically favored over daytime. The research methodology combined in-depth interviews with ten vendors operating in urban centers like Jakarta and Bandung with a consumer survey of one hundred respondents. Analysis of the collected data identifies a dual strategic foundation. From a demand perspective, night-time aligns with consumer psychology, fostering a leisurely atmosphere conducive to social snacking and impulsive purchases. On the supply side, vendors benefit from diminished direct competition, reduced operational overheads, and tapping into peak demand for evening treats. This synergy effectively cements martabak’s market identity as a beloved night-time culinary ritual linked to socialization. Consequently, the study posits that this chrono-marketing approach represents a savvy adaptation to local socio-economic rhythms. The insights derived provide a framework for micro-entrepreneurs to optimize service timing, aligning business operations with ingrained cultural consumption cycles to enhance sustainability and customer loyalty.

This study aims to conduct an in-depth analysis of the psychological journey of the character Rangga Raja in the novel 0 MDPL by Nurwina Sari. The main focus of the study is to identify the inner conflicts experienced by the protagonist as well as the dynamics of the personality structure consisting of the Id, Ego, and Superego that shape his psychological development throughout the storyline. This research employs a literary psychology approach using a qualitative descriptive method, conducted through a literature review and document analysis of the novel text as the primary data source. The findings indicate that Rangga Raja experiences complex emotional conflicts resulting from past trauma, experiences of loss, and failures in romantic relationships. These conditions are reflected through the tensions and interactions between the Id, Ego, and Superego within himself. The process toward the “zero point” (0 MDPL) is interpreted as a symbol of an identity crisis phase as well as a stage of self-reconstruction, in which the protagonist undergoes processes of reflection, self-acceptance, and openness to change. In addition, Rangga’s interactions with other characters, such as Andini, La Nina, and Nadia G. Sahara, play an important role in his psychological recovery and healing process. This study confirms that the novel 0 MDPL represents a profound reflection on human psychological dynamics, the search for identity, and the gradual process of inner healing.

The development of the modern world, characterized by advances in digital technology, globalization, and complex social dynamics, has created new challenges in child-rearing practices, particularly for Muslim families. Children require not only the fulfillment of physical needs and formal education, but also balanced emotional, social, and spiritual support. This study aims to examine the concept of child-rearing based on love and compassion from the perspective of Islamic psychology, identify the core principles of Islamic parenting, and explain its implications for children’s psychological development. This research employed a qualitative approach using a literature review method with a systematic literature review design. Data sources were obtained from academic books as well as nationally accredited journals and reputable international journals published between 2020 and 2024. The data were analyzed using content analysis and thematic analysis to identify patterns, key concepts, and relationships among variables. The findings indicate that parenting grounded in love and compassion (rahmah), combined with role modeling, justice, and wisdom in discipline, contributes positively to children’s emotional, social, moral, and spiritual development. Warm and responsive Islamic parenting supports the development of effective emotional regulation, prosocial behavior, and the internalization of faith-based and moral values in children. The results also demonstrate a strong alignment between Islamic parenting concepts and the compassionate parenting approach in modern psychology, with Islamic psychology offering a distinctive strength in its spiritual dimension. This study contributes to the reinforcement of the theoretical framework of Islamic psychology and provides practical recommendations for parents and educators in implementing balanced parenting that integrates compassion, discipline, and Islamic values in the modern era.

This study examines the short story "Click that Kills" by Taufiqurohman to reveal the position of humans in the increasingly dominating digital algorithm environment. Using a descriptive qualitative approach that focuses on structural analysis and literary psychology based on Freud's psychoanalytic theory, this study thoroughly analyzes the intrinsic elements as well as the inner conflicts of the characters. The findings of this study show that the AIDA system poses a profound existential crisis, where individual freedom is threatened due to systemic information manipulation. The characters of Dito and Genta experience a serious conflict between id, ego, and superego when dealing with the figure of "Shadow User" who is a real symbol of the shift in human dignity through raw data. In terms of structure, the storyline conveys a deep social critique of the loss of human self-control in cyberspace. This research shows that this short story is a premonious criticism of the importance of maintaining the essence of humanity in the midst of the prevalence of mechanical algorithms. The phenomenon emphasizes that digital technology can potentially alienate the moral consciousness of individuals in modern society.

Student resilience is an essential capacity for coping with academic, social, and psychological challenges in educational settings. One of the external factors that plays a significant role in fostering resilience is social support. This study aims to analyze the role of social support in enhancing student resilience from the perspective of Islamic educational psychology. This research employed a library research approach by reviewing and synthesizing relevant journal articles and scholarly books published between 2021 and 2025 related to social support, student resilience, and Islamic educational psychology. Data were analyzed using content analysis and thematic analysis of previous research findings. The results indicate that social support derived from family, teachers, peers, and the school environment functions as a protective factor that enhances students’ adaptive abilities, emotional regulation, and resilience in facing academic pressures. From the perspective of Islamic educational psychology, social support is integrated with Islamic values such as ukhuwah (brotherhood), ta’awun (mutual assistance), sabr (patience), and tawakkul (trust in God), which strengthen students’ resilience in a holistic manner, encompassing both psychological and spiritual dimensions. This study contributes theoretically to the development of Islamic educational psychology and provides practical implications for educational institutions in creating supportive and value-based learning environments.

This study aims to analyze the comprehensive relationship between selection, placement, career development, and employee well-being within the perspective of organizational psychology. Human resources (HR) are the central driver of organizational success, yet many institutions, including Islamic educational institutions, still face challenges in professional HR management. This research employs a library research method with a descriptive-comparative analysis approach, reviewing relevant scientific literature and empirical reports. The findings indicate that these four aspects form an integrated unit; effective selection based on person-organization fit provides quality candidates, appropriate placement optimizes potential, structured career development maintains motivation, and holistic well-being ensures loyalty and productivity. The study concludes that organizational success is heavily dependent on the synergy of these four components managed through an organizational psychology approach, rather than being treated as separate administrative functions.

Breakups often trigger psychological conflict ranging from stress, anxiety, depression, to risky behavior that have an impact on individual well-being and the social environment. This study explores the role of law in preventing, responding to, and recovering such psychological impacts through an interdisciplinary approach. The methodology used is a normative-juridical study combined with a literature review of clinical psychology and mental health policy. The findings show that the legal framework can function on three levels: (1) preventive, through the guarantee of the right to mental health, digital literacy, and platform governance to prevent post-breakup online harassment; (2) protective, through victim protection mechanisms against psychological violence, stalking, doxing, and the dissemination of non-consensual intimate content; and (3) curative, with a referral scheme for counseling services, the provision of legal aid, data confidentiality guarantees, and restorative justice instruments centered on victim recovery. However, there are implementation gaps, including the lack of standardization of psychological assessments in the legal process, limited access to services at the grassroots level, and coordination between institutions that are not optimal. This article recommends the integration of mental health protocols in the law enforcement process, evidentiary guidelines for psychological violence, as well as cross-sectoral collaboration with psychological service providers and digital platforms. The main contribution of this study is the mapping of a comprehensive legal intervention framework for post-breakup psychological conflicts.

This study aims to comprehensively describe the psychological dynamics of Natta's character in the novel Rumah Tanpa Cahaya through the framework of Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theory. The main focus of the study is to analyze the structural interactions of personality including the Id, Ego, and Superego, and to identify various self defense mechanisms activated by the character due to the internal conflict he experiences. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a literary psychology approach as the main analytical basis for dissecting the hidden inner character. The results of the study indicate that Natta's character's behavior is a form of integrative struggle that demands immediate gratification (Id), rational consideration of painful reality (Ego), and strong moral pressure from the internalization of social norms (Superego). Natta's Id demands the fulfillment of basic needs for security and affection. Meanwhile, the Superego provides moral pressure that triggers disproportionate anxiety. Natta's Ego operates as a mediator that works hard to balance the drives of the Id and the demands of the Superego, which forces the Ego to activate self-defense mechanisms such as repression, rationalization, and especially sublimation. This mechanism serves as a psychic barrier to maintain her mental stability and prevent her from experiencing total collapse due to the accumulation of past trauma. Overall, this novel depicts the complexity of the human psyche in the face of existential crises and unresolved past wounds.

Elderly people are individuals aged 60 and over who have equal rights in community life. The emotional state of the elderly is a psychological state that encompasses the ability to think, feel, and act, as manifested through behavior. To stabilize the emotions of the elderly, cadres and their families must have an adequate level of emotional intelligence. One non-pharmacological approach currently being studied is the Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT), an emotional healing method that combines spiritual elements, positive affirmations, and stimulation of the body's meridian points. SEFT is believed to reduce psychological stress that contributes to high blood pressure. This therapy is easy to learn, can be performed independently, and requires no special equipment, making it highly suitable for use in elderly communities with limited access to advanced medical services. At this event, counselors provided support in delivering material on Motivation and Prevention of Psychological Disorders in the Elderly using the SEFT. The purpose of this material is to provide motivation, reduce, and prevent psychological impacts. Participants benefited from the material, knowledge, and experience sharing, as well as solutions, resulting in a better understanding of motivation, reduction, and prevention of psychological impacts. This community service program was conducted with approximately 33 participants in the "Teratai" elderly group. It is hoped that this community service program will be beneficial and provide considerations for solutions and decisions, adding information and insight related to motivation, reduction, and prevention of psychological impacts.
