This community service program aims to develop a local wisdom-based literacy model as an effort to improve students’ reading interest at SD Negeri 025 Samarinda Utara. The low level of reading interest among elementary school students remains a challenge in the implementation of the School Literacy Movement initiated by the Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi. One of the contributing factors is the lack of contextual reading materials that are relevant to students’ socio-cultural environment. Therefore, integrating local wisdom into literacy activities is considered an innovative strategy to enhance students’ engagement in reading activities. The implementation method included needs analysis, the design of a literacy model, program implementation through storytelling of East Kalimantan folktales, the development of a culturally themed reading corner, and teacher mentoring in integrating literacy into classroom learning. Evaluation was conducted through observation of student participation, reading interest questionnaires, and reflective discussions with teachers. The results indicate an increase in students’ enthusiasm for reading activities, a higher frequency of classroom reading corner utilization, and improved understanding of local cultural values. The local wisdom-based literacy model proved effective in creating a contextual, engaging, and meaningful learning atmosphere. This program is expected to serve as a sustainable model for strengthening literacy culture in elementary schools.

The microbiological quality of clean water in Dusun Kepuhan has not met regulatory standards, posing potential health risks to the community. Laboratory examination identified Escherichia coli at 21 CFU/100 mL and total coliform bacteria at 180 CFU/100 mL, exceeding the permissible limits established by the Indonesian Ministry of Health Regulation No. 2 of 2023. This community service program was conducted to enhance residents’ knowledge and practical skills in managing clean water through the application of a chlorine diffuser as a simple and practical disinfection method. The implementation process included problem identification, coordination with the local PAMSIMAS management, educational sessions, and hands-on demonstrations of diffuser preparation and use. Program effectiveness was evaluated using pre-test and post-test assessments involving 30 participants. The findings indicated a statistically significant improvement in participants knowledge following the training. The chlorine diffuser approach was considered appropriate for the community setting due to its ease of use, affordability, and gradual chlorine release mechanism. Continuous monitoring and sustained community commitment are necessary to ensure long-term implementation of safe water disinfection practices.

People with visual impairment face barriers in cash transactions, particularly in identifying banknote denominations and verifying authenticity, which can reduce independence and increase vulnerability to fraud. This issue is also closely linked to the financial inclusion agenda, as access to reliable information on the value and authenticity of cash is a prerequisite for safe transactions among vulnerable groups. This community service program aimed to improve users’ competence through individualized, home-visit–based education and mentoring on an optical–UV sensor–based banknote denomination and authenticity detector with audio feedback. The program was implemented in collaboration with the Kebumen branches of PERTUNI and ITMI from October to December 2025. The intervention stages included an initial needs assessment, structured training using a concise module, hands-on practice through transaction scenarios, and follow-up mentoring. Evaluation employed a pre–post knowledge test, a practical performance checklist, and a usability questionnaire. Results indicated that the mean knowledge score increased from 55.1 to 80.7, and the success rate of denomination identification improved from 60.7% to 90.0%. This approach is relevant as an individualized mentoring model for blind communities when group-based training is difficult to implement.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the synergy of humanistic and transformational leadership in building adaptability and digital competence of civil servants in the era of digital transformation. The research uses a narrative literature review approach by analyzing various literature from leading academic databases. The findings indicate that humanistic leadership creates a psychological foundation through empathy, respect for individual dignity, and psychological safety that facilitates civil servants to adapt to change without fear of failure. Meanwhile, transformational leadership acts as a catalyst by providing inspirational vision, intellectual stimulation, and motivation to master digital competencies. The synergy of these two leadership styles creates a holistic development ecosystem: humanistic leadership provides psychological safety to take learning risks, while transformational leadership provides energy and direction for continuous innovation. The theoretical implications of this research enrich the treasury of leadership theory in the context of public bureaucracy by identifying the complementary mechanisms of both leadership styles. Practical implications provide guidance for agency leaders to integrate humanistic values and transformational approaches in HR development programs to prepare civil servants who are resilient, adaptive, and digitally competent in facing the challenges of technological disruption and increasingly complex public service demands in the Society 5.0 era.

Higher education management at the master's level currently faces urgent challenges, namely learning fatigue and low engagement among professional students, especially in Prior Learning Recognition (RPL) classes. Currently, lecturers still tend to apply conventional learning methods based on static presentations that fail to accommodate andragogical characteristics due to a lack of dynamic interaction. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the “Humanistic Digital Andragogy” approach through the integration of gamification (Kahoot) and visual thinking (Whimsical) in the Strategic Human Resource Management course. The researchers used a descriptive qualitative design with thematic analysis and collected data through feedback from students in the Master of Management Program (Semarang and Sorong classes). The results revealed that technology served as a double catalyst: Whimsical visualization effectively reduced the cognitive load of complex strategy material, while competition in Kahoot triggered positive adrenaline (eustress) that increased attention. These findings confirm that the success of technology is highly dependent on the role of lecturers as humanistic facilitators (high-touch). This synergy has been proven to change students' perceptions of HRM from merely administrative to strategic partners, as well as creating learning satisfaction that is relevant to the world of work.

English speaking skill is a crucial competence for university students, particularly those involved in student organizations focusing on language development. Members of English clubs are expected to actively use English in academic and organizational contexts; however, many still face challenges related to pronunciation accuracy, fluency, limited active vocabulary, and low confidence. These challenges are often caused by limited structured speaking practice and insufficient integration between digital learning tools and communicative pedagogy. This community service program aimed to enhance the English-speaking skills of members of the Bhamada English Club at Universitas Bhamada Slawi through the utilization of the Duolingo application integrated with a Task-Based Learning (TBL) approach. The program was implemented through three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. Activities included needs analysis, speaking pre-test, guided Duolingo practice focusing on pronunciation and speaking features, task-based speaking activities, and post-test evaluation. The results demonstrated improvements in pronunciation accuracy, speaking fluency, and participants’ confidence in using English orally. The integration of Duolingo as a source of comprehensible input and Task-Based Learning as a communicative output strategy proved effective in enhancing speaking skills. This program indicates that technology-supported task-based instruction can serve as an effective and sustainable model for improving English speaking skills among university students.

Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip (DDH) in children often results in joint stiffness, muscle weakness, limited range of motion, and gait impairment following surgical management and immobilization. Early physiotherapy intervention is essential to restore hip function and walking ability. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of active exercise on functional walking in outpatient children aged 3–5 years after DDH surgery. A case study design was conducted on three female patients who completed a five-week rehabilitation program consisting of ten active exercise sessions, including hip strengthening, mobility training, and balance exercises, combined with a home program. Outcome measures included hip range of motion, Manual Muscle Testing, and Modified McKay and Harris Hip Score assessed at baseline, mid-intervention, and post-intervention. The results showed improvements in hip range of motion, particularly in flexion, extension, abduction, adduction, and external rotation, while internal rotation improved but did not reach normal values. Muscle strength increased from grade 1–2 to grade 3 in most hip muscle groups. Functional walking scores improved from poor to good and excellent, with patients achieving independent, symmetrical gait without pain. These findings indicate that active exercise is an effective rehabilitation approach to reduce impairments and enhance functional walking in children after DDH surgery. The study highlights the importance of structured physiotherapy and caregiver involvement to optimize recovery and participation in daily activities.

This research aims to analyze the implementation of public service innovations through the Cheap Food Movement in realizing sustainable food security in Sorong City. The research uses a qualitative approach, collecting data through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation of key informants at the Sorong City Food Security Office, business actors, and beneficiary communities. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model, with triangulation of sources and methods to ensure data validity. The study results show that the Cheap Food Movement has increased community food accessibility through regular implementation, a coordinated distribution system, and partnerships with local farmers. Price affordability is achieved through cross-subsidization and a reduction of up to 30% of the market price in the distribution chain. The program's sustainability is supported by local economic empowerment and multi-stakeholder collaboration. The research implications inform the development of public service innovation models grounded in community needs. The study's limitations lie in its focus on a single region, which limits generalization. Recommendations aim to expand the program's scope, strengthen technology-based monitoring systems, and replicate models in other areas with similar conditions.
