Malnutrition significantly disrupts metabolic processes like fasting blood glucose (FBG) regulation, insulin secretion, and insulin resistance (HOMA-IR), especially among the elderly. Aging amplifies these effects through declining β-cell function, reduced insulin sensitivity, and chronic inflammation, increasing the risk of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. Globally, malnutrition affects 22% of the elderly, with prevalence reaching 28% in Indonesia due to food insecurity, limited healthcare access, and poor nutrition education. Malnutrition exacerbates glucose-insulin imbalances by causing muscle loss, increasing FBG levels, and inducing insulin resistance through chronic inflammation. Despite its impact, critical knowledge gaps remain, particularly in low- and middle-income countries like Indonesia. This study investigates how malnutrition affects FBG, insulin levels, and HOMA-IR in elderly individuals, focusing on mechanisms like inflammation and muscle loss to inform targeted interventions and improve metabolic health in resource-limited settings. This cross-sectional study evaluated fasting blood glucose, insulin, and HOMA-IR among 31 elderly participants at Panti Werdha Santa Anna. The study found no significant differences in fasting blood glucose, fasting insulin, HOMA-IR, or HbA1c levels across Mini Nutritional Assessment categories (normal, at risk, malnourished; p > 0.05). These results suggest no strong association between nutritional status and metabolic parameters, highlighting the need for further research with larger samples. This study finds no significant association between nutritional status and glycemic control in the elderly, suggesting malnutrition's indirect impact via mechanisms like inflammation and muscle loss. Comprehensive nutritional assessments remain essential to understanding its effects on metabolic health.

Professional appearance is a very crucial aspect for an educator, especially in the context of vocational education such as State Vocational High Schools (SMKN), where educators act as role models for students. One element that can support professional appearance is knowledge in the field of make-up. The use of appropriate make-up not only reflects the level of professionalism, but can also increase self-confidence and reflect a good work ethic. This study aims to analyze the relationship between make-up knowledge and the professional appearance of educators at SMKN Padang City. The research method used is quantitative with a correlational approach. The sample in this study amounted to 53 female teachers from SMKN 06 and SMKN 07 Padang City who were selected using the proportional stratified random sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and questionnaires, then analyzed using a correlation test. The results of the study showed that there was a significant correlation between the level of make-up knowledge and the professional appearance of teachers. Educators who have good insight in the field of make-up generally show a more well-groomed appearance, are full of confidence, and reflect professional standards in the educational environment. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that increasing knowledge about make-up makes a positive contribution to the formation of a professional image of teachers in the SMKN environment.

This study aims to improve Arabic vocabulary acquisition in lower grade students through a food knowledge-based approach at Srimuda Guidance Centre, Kuala Lumpur. Arabic as the language of the Qur'an is very important to learn from an early age, but its learning is often considered difficult by children due to non-contextualised methods. To overcome this, this research uses a qualitative approach with a case study type. Data were collected through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation during the learning activities that took place in three sessions. Each session involved the introduction of food vocabulary in Arabic through activities such as matching pictures, drawing favourite foods, role-playing as sellers and buyers, to simple quizzes. The results showed that students were more enthusiastic and able to remember and mention at least five food vocabulary words in Arabic correctly. The use of real media and interactive activities is proven to make children understand and absorb new vocabulary faster because it is in accordance with their cognitive development stage. This study concludes that learning Arabic vocabulary with a food theme approach can be an effective, fun and contextualised method for early childhood. The implication of this study can be used as a reference in developing Arabic language teaching methods in non-formal and formal educational institutions at the early age level.

Anemia during pregnancy is a significant health issue in developing countries, contributing to high maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality rates. This study focuses on severe anemia among pregnant women in their third trimester, examining prevalence, causes, and effective interventions. The findings indicate that limited knowledge about anemia and poor adherence to iron supplementation are key factors leading to anemia in pregnancy. Data from clinical visits showed that educational interventions aimed at increasing awareness, combined with iron tablet supplementation, significantly improved hemoglobin levels and maternal health. Hemoglobin levels in participants increased from severe anemia levels (<9 g/dL) to near-normal ranges after intervention. The study also highlights the role of family support and consistent antenatal care in managing anemia effectively. Nutritional education addressing iron-rich diets and the avoidance of substances inhibiting iron absorption proved essential. These results align with prior research emphasizing education and supplementation as critical strategies to reduce anemia-related pregnancy complications such as miscarriage, preterm birth, and low birth weight. The study recommends strengthening antenatal care programs by integrating comprehensive nutritional education and monitoring to ensure compliance with iron supplementation. Improving pregnant women’s and their families’ knowledge on anemia prevention is crucial to reducing maternal and fetal risks associated with anemia. This approach can ultimately contribute to better pregnancy outcomes and reduced maternal mortality rates.

The national curriculum is designed to support the development of students' character education. This is reflected in the integration between subjects and educational levels, as well as attention to the three main domains: attitude (affective), knowledge (cognitive), and skills (psychomotor). The main goal of this curriculum is to shape Indonesian individuals who are faithful, capable of living independently and socially, and who are productive, creative, innovative, and of noble character. The curriculum also encourages students to contribute actively to social life, the nation, and global civilization. Character values are instilled through the development of two main attitudes: spiritual attitude, which refers to practicing one's religious beliefs, and social attitude, which includes honesty, discipline, responsibility, politeness, environmental awareness, and self-confidence in interacting with others.
