Lake Toba, designated as a National Tourism Strategic Area, faces ecological disruption due to the invasive Red Devil fish (Amphilophus labiatus), which threatens the sustainability of native aquatic species. This study aims to enhance the knowledge of the Tapian Nauli farmer group in Hariara Pohan Village, Samosir Regency, in utilizing the Red Devil fish as Liquid Organic Fertilizer (LOF) and processed food. Methods employed include agricultural extension activities, practical demonstrations, pre-tests and post-tests, and evaluation through questionnaires. Results showed a significant improvement in farmers' knowledge after the extension, with 70% moving from the "poor" to "good" category. The Red Devil fish was successfully processed into LOF through fermentation using molasses, starbio, and pineapple, and into shredded fish (abon) as a food product. Farmers responded positively to the idea of Red Devil abon as a potential household business opportunity, given the fish's abundance and low cost. Evaluation of the extension activities revealed a high level of suitability with an average score of 96.33%, covering material content, delivery methods, and instructional media. This study demonstrates that locally based extension approaches can effectively empower farmers to convert invasive pests into value-added products, while fostering economic opportunities rooted in local resources.

The family is an essential unit consisting of two or more individuals living together due to ties of blood, marriage, or adoption, and it plays a significant role in supporting the health of its members, including those with diabetes mellitus, which can be hereditary. One of the serious complications that often arise in diabetes mellitus patients is diabetic ulcers, which can be prevented through proper foot care practices. In this context, the family has an important role in helping prevent foot injuries by providing support through foot care education. This study aims to describe the implementation of foot care education using audiovisual media as a means to improve the knowledge of diabetes mellitus patients in the working area of Sekaran Public Health Center, Semarang. The research method applied was a case study with a descriptive approach, in which an intervention was carried out through pre-test and post-test assessments related to foot care education using audiovisual media over five days, with the research instrument being the Diabetic Foot Knowledge Scale (DFKS) questionnaire. Early science education has a strategic role in forming critical and innovative thinking patterns in children as a provision to face challenges in the era of globalization and technological advancement. However, the implementation of the scientific approach at the early childhood education (PAUD) and elementary school levels still faces various obstacles, such as limited teacher knowledge, lack of contextual learning facilities, and teaching methods that tend to be one-way. In fact, childhood is a phase of cognitive development that is very potential to foster curiosity and scientific thinking skills. The low science literacy scores of Indonesian students in international studies indicate the need for intervention from an early age. Therefore, community service programs that aim to build a foundation for children's science from an early age are very important. This program includes teacher training, development of learning media, and exploratory activities based on simple experiments that are appropriate to the world of children. Through this approach, it is hoped that a young generation can be created who not only understand science conceptually, but also have the ability to think critically, creatively, and find solutions in facing problems in the future.

This Community Service activity aims to increase the capacity of women farmer groups (KWT) in developing human resources (HR) in the agricultural sector. KWT plays a crucial role as agents of change in improving food security and family welfare. However, limited knowledge, managerial skills, and access to technology are often major obstacles. The research method used was a qualitative approach with a case study technique. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with KWT members. The results showed that capacity building can be achieved through several strategies, including: 1) Continuous training on innovative cultivation techniques, financial management, and agricultural product marketing; 2) Intensive mentoring by agricultural extension workers in implementing new practices; and 3) Facilitating access to resources such as capital, market information, and appropriate technology. This capacity building not only increases agricultural productivity but also strengthens women's economic independence, self-confidence, and strategic roles in decision-making at the community level. Thus, strengthening KWT in human resource development is an important investment to realize a more sustainable and gender-equitable agriculture. Furthermore, this community service activity highlights the importance of community participation in maintaining the program's sustainability. Active participation by KWT members in every stage of the program, from planning to evaluation, is crucial to ensuring that the program is tailored to local needs and conditions. Through collaboration between KWT, agricultural extension workers, and various other stakeholders, such as microfinance institutions and local governments, it is hoped that an ecosystem will be created that supports the growth and development of an inclusive and sustainable agricultural sector. This program is expected to have a long-term impact, not only on the welfare of KWT members but also on improving food security at the community level.

This community service activity aims to increase the financial independence of the Women Farmers Group (KWT) in Sudiang, Makassar, through a networking approach and strengthening financial literacy capacity. The main problems faced by the local KWT are the still low understanding of group financial management, limited access to financial information, and dependence on external assistance. Through socialization, training, and interactive discussions, participants were provided with an understanding of the basic concepts of financial independence, simple financial record keeping, collective fund management, and the importance of institutional networks as a sustainability strategy. The results of the activity showed an increase in members' understanding of the importance of financial literacy and the ability to design an internal financial system independently. In addition, strengthening networks with local stakeholders was also started as a first step towards finding a KWT business. The activity concluded with a question and answer session and the presentation of certificates to participants as a form of appreciation and ongoing motivation. Going forward, further mentoring is needed so that the empowerment process can continue to develop consistently. As a follow-up to this activity, a sustainable mentoring strategy is needed so that the understanding and skills that have been acquired do not just stop at the level of knowledge, but can be implemented in real life in the KWT's daily activities. This mentoring can include monitoring the group's financial records, facilitating access to microfinance institutions, and training in building partnerships with external parties such as government, academics, and the private sector. With structured mentoring, KWT is expected to be able to build a transparent and accountable financial management system and support the growth of sustainable, productive businesses. This aligns with efforts to strengthen women's independence in the agricultural sector while contributing to the welfare of families and the wider community.

Ramadan fasting often results in significant changes in diet, fluid intake, and daily physical activity levels. If not managed properly, these changes have the potential to negatively impact health, particularly in the elderly. This community service article aims to improve literacy and practice healthy lifestyles during and after Ramadan through educational intervention activities for retirees of PB Telkom Padang. The activity was held on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, starting at 08:00 WIB and ending, involving 80 participants. The intervention was carried out in two stages: educational counseling using PowerPoint media and distribution of leaflets as supporting introductory materials, followed by an interactive discussion between participants and the presenter. The leaflets functioned as an information retention tool, enabling participants to remember and apply the knowledge independently at home. In addition, providing souvenirs from sponsors to the most interactive participants increased motivation and active participation in the discussion session. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' knowledge regarding the principles of balanced nutrition, the importance of hydration, and the choice of light physical activities appropriate to their physical condition during the fasting month. The participatory intervention method and receiving symbolic awards proved effective in fostering commitment to a healthy lifestyle. Based on these findings, similar interventions are recommended for implementation in other retirement communities, with additional quantitative evaluations to improve the accuracy of the impact and extend its benefits over the long term.

The development of the Islamic economy globally continues to show an encouraging increase. However, in Indonesia, Islamic financial literacy and inclusion are still relatively low. One of the main challenges is the gap between theoretical understanding and application of Islamic financial products, especially among Gen-Z students. This study aims to evaluate students' level of knowledge about Islamic finance and their tendency to manage their personal finances, as well as identify factors that hinder the use of Islamic financial services. This study used a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques through questionnaires. A total of 77 students from Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) became respondents in this study. The results obtained show that although students have a fairly good level of literacy and high interest in the Islamic financial system, it has not been followed by real practice in everyday life. The findings emphasize the need to increase educational efforts, utilize digital media more effectively, and strengthen the accessibility of Islamic financial services among the younger generation.

The rise in sea levels caused by climate change has compelled island nations such as Kiribati to implement strategic policies, including climate adaptation, to address its impacts. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method with an analytical framework grounded in the theories of human security and ecofeminism to assess the effects of climate change adaptation strategies on women in Kiribati. Climate change has affected every aspect of human security—from economic conditions to personal safety—posing layered and disproportionate challenges for women, who often bear primary responsibility within the household. The study finds that women are not merely victims but also agents of change and drivers of climate adaptation through advocacy rooted in their lived experiences and environmental knowledge. This research underscores the importance of inclusive, participatory, and gender-just adaptation policies. Only through such approaches can climate crisis responses foster truly sustainable resilience across all sectors of society.
