Nowadays, social media has shaped a new interaction space for human to communicate and access information broadly within a new reality phenomenon called the (global village), a term popularized by Marshall McLuchan. Although it open opportunities for limitless relationship, this phenomenon also frequently gives rise to several moral issues, such as consumerist culture, body exploitation, and the tendency of individuals to build self-identity based on social judgment. This situation aligns with Charles Horton Cooley’s idea., which asserts that self-identity is often formed through the perspective of others. Based on this context, this study aims to examine the relevance of the concept of haecceitas in John Duns Scotus thought as a basis for criticizing moral degradations in social media practices. This research uses a qualitative method through literature study and philosophical analysis of the digital identity phenomenon. The results of the study show that the concept of haecceitas emphasizes the uniqueness and dignity of every person as an individual who cannot be reduced by social construction or the demand of popularity on social media. This concept can serve as a basis for ethical reflection to strengthen the awareness of one’s distinctive identity and respect for the human body in the digital space.

The crisis of human spirituality, which separates the inner dimension from the universe, is at the root of the current global environmental crisis. The purpose of this study is to comprehensively examine how Sufi principles are applied in environmental conservation practices at the Shadana Islamic Boarding School in Padarincang, and to determine how the teachings of the book Fathul 'Arifin influence the formation of the students’ ecological ethics. This research was conducted qualitatively through a case study. Data were collected through document analysis, in-depth interviews, and participatory observation from September 22 to October 5, 2025. The results indicate that the concept of spiritual purification, or tazkiyatun nafs, is integrated with nature conservation by activating the seven lathaif. Environmental conservation, such as protecting springs and forests, is viewed as a form of spiritual devotion to the Creator, as human awareness of the elements of fire, water, wind, and earth fosters a strong inner connection with the macrocosm or the universe. The results indicate that the santri paradigm has shifted from anthropocentrism to theocentrism. This study proposes an “Eco-Sufism” model, grounded in the transformation of inner consciousness, as an alternative solution to address environmental degradation. This approach emphasizes that to foster sustainable harmony among humans, God, and the universe, ecosystem sustainability requires a strong foundation of spirituality.

This study aims to understand the role of E-Commerce in building customer loyalty, explain the process of loyalty formation, and assess how customers perceive service quality in relation to loyalty, using the GoFood service in Jombang as a case study. The rapid growth of online food delivery services has intensified competition, making customer loyalty a critical factor for sustainability. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with 30 GoFood customers and several drivers in the Jombang area. The findings reveal that E-Commerce platforms significantly enhance loyalty through user-friendly application interfaces, supporting features (such as live tracking, history, and digital payments), and beneficial promotions. The loyalty formation process occurs gradually through consistent positive experiences, moving from customer satisfaction to trust, and ultimately to habitual use. Crucially, the quality of driver services—including politeness, effective communication, punctuality, and order accuracy—emerged as a key determinant of customer comfort and repeat orders. This study implies that for E-Commerce platforms to maintain a competitive edge, strategies must integrate digital convenience with consistently reliable human interactions. The research contributes empirical insights from a semi-urban Indonesian context, highlighting that customer loyalty is not merely transactional but is built on a combination of technological ease, economic value, and positive interpersonal service experiences.

Flooding in Aceh has become a recurring phenomenon that cannot be understood solely as a natural disaster but also as a result of human activities within modern society. This study aims to analyze flooding in Aceh through the perspective of Ulrich Beck’s risk society theory, focusing on how modernization, environmental change, and development policies contribute to the production of risk. This research uses a literature review approach by examining scientific articles published between 2021 and 2026 from indexed national and international journals. The analysis was conducted thematically to identify patterns, similarities, and research gaps. The findings show that natural factors such as high rainfall and atmospheric conditions act as primary triggers, while human activities including land-use change, river sedimentation, and ineffective policies significantly intensify flood risks. Flooding is therefore categorized as a manufactured risk produced by modern development processes. In addition, the impacts are not limited to ecological damage but also affect social and psychological conditions of society. These results indicate that floods should be understood not only from a technical perspective but also from a social perspective. The study implies that flood management requires a comprehensive approach integrating environmental sustainability, social awareness, and evidence-based policy to reduce both the impact and sources of risk in a sustainable manner.

The fleeting nature of human life constitutes a key theme in theological reflections within the Old Testament, particularly in the Book of Psalms in the Alkitab, which highlights human limitations and the inherent uncertainty of existence. Psalm 39:6–7 depicts human life as a transient shadow and emphasizes the futility of human efforts if they are not oriented toward God. This study seeks to explore the meaning of human transience in this passage and assess its theological significance for contemporary life. A qualitative approach with biblical hermeneutics is employed, considering historical, literary, and theological dimensions. The analysis indicates that the metaphor of the “shadow” illustrates human fragility, while the depiction of life’s futility critiques the human tendency to find purpose solely in worldly endeavors. Despite this, Psalm 39 ultimately directs readers toward hope in God, portraying Him as the ultimate source of true meaning. In a modern, materialistic context, this message continues to be relevant as a reminder of human dependency on God and the limitations of human life. Therefore, the transience of life does not signify the end of existential purpose but rather opens the way to deeper spiritual insight and the strengthening of faith.

Early marriage is a social phenomenon that remains prevalent in Indonesia and gives rise to various problems in family life. This article aims to analyze the implications of early marriage in light of the Code of Canon Law (CCL) Nos. 1055 and 1056 in the context of Catholic couples. This study employs a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach through a literature review of books, scientific journals, and Church documents. The findings indicate that the CIC affirms marriage as a sacred covenant between a man and a woman oriented toward the bonum coniugum (the good of the couple), openness to children, and characterized by unity and indissolubility. In the context of early marriage, various implications were identified, such as emotional immaturity that triggers domestic conflicts, a high risk of divorce, low levels of education, and impacts on the health of mothers and children. Additionally, early marriage also indicates a weak understanding of the sacramental dimension and family responsibilities, including childrearing. Thus, CIC Nos. 1055 and 1056 provide an important normative foundation that marriage requires human, spiritual, and social maturity for the realization of a wholesome and prosperous Catholic family.

Knowledge should not only make human beings intellectually capable, but also guide them to understand the meaning and direction of life. However, in modern education, knowledge is often reduced to an instrument for obtaining grades, degrees, employment, and material success. This condition indicates a crisis of meaning in education, where knowledge grows rapidly but is not always followed by moral awareness and spiritual maturity. This article examines the Philosophy of Unity of Sciences as an alternative paradigm to restore the meaning of knowledge in modern education. This study uses library research with a descriptive-critical approach. The primary sources include the Qur’an, Hadith, Al-Ghazali’s Iḥyā’ ‘Ulūm Al-Dīn, Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas’ Islam and Secularism, and the Javanese ethical text Serat Wedhatama. This article is also strengthened by the thoughts of Muslim scholars such as Al-Kindi, Al-Farabi, Ibn Sina, Al-Biruni, Ibn Al-Haytham, Al-Khawarizmi, and Ibn Khaldun. The result of this study shows that the Philosophy of Unity of Sciences views all knowledge as originating from Allah. Therefore, religious knowledge and general knowledge should not be separated or opposed to each other. Both should work together to form human beings who are faithful, rational, ethical, and responsible. In this sense, knowledge can be understood as “a way home”, namely a way to return to God, to the self, to humanity, and to nature.
