The Qur'an al-Karīm employs at least four principal terms in referring to human beings, namely al-basyar, al-insān, al-nās, and banī Ādam. These terms are not merely synonymous; rather, each represents distinct yet complementary dimensions of humanity in constructing a holistic concept of the human being. This study aims to: (1) analyze the semantic meanings of these four terms based on mufrodat studies, Makkiyah-Madaniyah classification, and asbābun nuzūl; (2) compare the interpretations of classical scholars - Al-Ṭabarī, Ibn Kathīr, Al-Qurṭubī, and Fakhr Al-Rāzī - with those of contemporary scholars - Sayyid Quṭb, Ibn ‘Āshūr, M. Quraish Shihab, and Buya Hamka; and (3) formulate their implications for Islamic education. This research employs a library research method using the tafsīr maudhū‘ī approach integrated with Izutsu’s semantic analysis model. The findings reveal that al-basyar represents the physical-biological dimension of human beings; al-insān represents the spiritual dimension in relation to ‘ubūdiyyah toward Allah; al-nās represents the social-collective dimension; and banī Ādam represents the intellectual-rational dimension inherited from Adam through the divine gift of teaching al-asmā’ (Qur'an 2:31). Collectively, these four dimensions provide fundamental implications for the development of objectives, curriculum, methodology, and evaluation within holistic and comprehensive Islamic education.

This study aims to examine the application of a modified direct learning strategy combined with the demonstration method to improve students' cognitive abilities. The direct learning strategy is an approach that emphasizes the systematic and gradual delivery of material, so that students can understand concepts in a more structured manner. However, in practice, this strategy needs to be modified to be more engaging and appropriate to the characteristics of students. The demonstration method is used as a form of reinforcement in the learning process, where students not only receive information verbally but also directly observe the processes, events, or concepts being studied. This allows students to gain a more concrete and meaningful learning experience. Modifications to the learning strategy are carried out through adjustments to models, methods, media, and learning facilities and infrastructure to optimally support the achievement of learning objectives. Students' cognitive abilities are the main focus of this study, which include aspects of knowledge, understanding, application, analysis, evaluation, and creation according to Bloom's taxonomy. With the implementation of appropriate learning strategies, students are expected to be able to develop more active and critical thinking skills. The results of the study indicate that a modified direct learning strategy with the demonstration method has the potential to significantly improve students' cognitive abilities. Therefore, this approach can be used as an alternative, effective learning strategy to create a more interactive, engaging, and meaningful learning process.

Public facility cleanliness is a reflection of cultural values and collective social responsibility. Bus stops, as daily transit points for thousands of commuters, often face declining cleanliness due to limited user participation and management. This community service program was conducted on April 22, 2026, at RSAL Bus Stop, Surabaya, Indonesia, with one researcher as the sole implementer. The objectives were to improve physical cleanliness, provide environmental education, and enhance aesthetics through greening. The method consisted of three activities: installing cleanliness reminder posters, cleaning the bus stop area, and adding ornamental plants in flower pots. Evaluation employed qualitative descriptive techniques, including observation, photographic documentation, and informal interviews. Findings revealed that the bus stop floor, initially littered with plastic waste, cigarette butts, and dry leaves, became clean after sweeping. Posters were successfully placed in visible positions, and three flower pots containing Sansevieria trifasciata and Epipremnum aureum created a fresher atmosphere. Users responded positively, noting improved comfort and cleanliness. The synthesis indicates that simple interventions by a single individual can generate meaningful improvements when combining physical cleaning, visual education, and greening. This initiative demonstrates that small-scale university-led social responsibility programs can serve as replicable models for sustainable public facility management.

This study aims to analyze the influence of Qirâat (variant Qur’anic readings) on the interpretation of legal verses in Adhwâ’ al-Bayân by Muhammad al-Amîn al-Syinqîthi. Employing a qualitative library research approach, this study examines how both mutawâtir and syâdz Qirâat contribute to the process of Islamic legal deduction (istinbâth). The findings reveal that Qirâat function not merely as linguistic variations but also have significant implications for expanding, reinforcing, and providing flexibility in legal meanings across various domains, including worship (ibadah), family law (munâkahât), transactions (mu‘âmalah), and jihad. Al-Syinqîthi integrates linguistic analysis, textual evidence, and the objectives of Islamic law (maqâṣid al-syarî‘ah) in a comprehensive manner, enabling him to accommodate different Qirâat without generating legal contradictions. Mutawâtir Qirâat serve as the primary foundation for legal rulings, while syâdz Qirâat function as complementary and supportive arguments. This study concludes that the diversity of Qirâat constitutes an integral component of Qur’anic exegesis and Islamic jurisprudence, contributing to the development of a flexible, contextual, and relevant Islamic legal framework.

This study aims to examine and review the impact of language learning through text-based methods on the cognitive abilities of elementary school students. The research approach used is a qualitative study with the main instrument being the researcher, and supporting instruments including observation, interviews, and documentation of student learning outcomes at the elementary school level. Research data was obtained from various library sources, such as books, scientific articles, national and international journals, and other relevant scientific works related to text-based learning and student cognitive development. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of Indonesian language learning with text-based methods has a diverse impact on students. Differences in learning outcomes are not only influenced by the strategies and learning processes implemented by teachers, but are also closely related to students' cognitive abilities in understanding, interpreting, and processing information from Indonesian texts. Thus, text-based methods need to be adapted to the characteristics and levels of students' cognitive abilities so that learning objectives can be optimally achieved.

Criminal acts of assault against children constitute a serious violation of human rights that requires optimal legal protection by the state. As legal subjects, children are entitled to security, protection from violence, and guarantees for proper growth and development, as mandated by Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, and relevant child protection legislation. This study aims to conduct a juridical analysis of the legal considerations applied by judges in Decision Number 83/Pid.Sus/2020/PN.Kot concerning the criminal offense of assault committed against a child, as well as to assess their conformity with criminal law principles, child protection law, and the objectives of sentencing. This research employs a normative legal research method using statutory, conceptual, and case approaches, supported by primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials. The findings reveal that although the legal basis applied refers to Law Number 35 of 2014 on Child Protection, the judicial considerations have not been comprehensively formulated, as they insufficiently incorporate sociological, criminological, and child-centered protection perspectives. Consequently, the sentence imposed is relatively lenient and fails to fully reflect the objectives of punishment, particularly deterrence and sustainable protection for child victims. Therefore, strengthening the quality of judicial reasoning and ensuring the optimal application of relevant legal provisions are essential to achieve legal certainty, justice, and effective protection for children as victims of violent crimes.

The abuse of authority by public officials within Indonesia’s governmental administration has become an increasingly urgent issue to address. Such misconduct undermines the fundamental principles of good governance  including transparency, accountability, and justice which are essential for ensuring efficient and effective government operations. This study aims to conduct an in-depth analysis of the forms of abuse of authority by public officials, the factors influencing such behavior, and its impact on the effectiveness of governance and public trust. The research employs a normative approach with a prescriptive legal method, analyzing legislation related to the abuse of authority as well as a case-based approach to explore the implementation of authority by public officials in governmental practice. The findings indicate that abuse of authority may occur in various forms, such as exceeding the limits of granted power, conflating different authorities, or acting arbitrarily for personal or group interests  all of which contradict the principle of legality governing governmental actions. Moreover, such practices negatively affect the quality of public services and tarnish the image of governmental institutions. The study also finds that although Law No. 30 of 2014 on Government Administration provides a clear legal framework, its implementation remains hindered by weak internal and external oversight systems. Therefore, this research recommends strengthening more effective supervision mechanisms, enhancing transparency in administrative decision-making processes, and involving the public in monitoring efforts to ensure that public officials exercise their authority in accordance with established objectives in pursuit of a clean and just government.

This study investigates the use of oral corrective feedback (OCF) in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classrooms among Indonesian university students, with a particular focus on lecturers’ preferences and students’ perceptions. The research addresses three main aspects: the types of errors that are corrected, the strategies of OCF employed, and the timing of feedback delivery. A qualitative case study design was adopted, involving classroom observations, semi-structured interviews with lecturers, and open-ended questionnaires distributed to students. Data from these instruments were analyzed separately and then triangulated to ensure credibility and validity. The findings reveal that lecturers mainly prioritize correcting phonological and grammatical errors, as these are perceived to directly influence students’ communicative competence and overall speaking performance. Among the six OCF types proposed by Lyster and Ranta (1997), recast and repetition emerged as the most frequently used strategies. These approaches were favored by lecturers as they corrected learners subtly while minimizing the risk of embarrassment and maintaining the flow of communication. Furthermore, lecturers applied both immediate and delayed feedback depending on the classroom context and learning objectives. From the students’ perspective, OCF was generally viewed positively, as it contributed to raising awareness of errors and fostering speaking improvement. Students particularly appreciated feedback strategies that respected their confidence and speaking flow. Overall, the study underscores the importance of aligning teacher practices with student preferences to maximize the effectiveness of oral corrective feedback in EFL learning contexts.

Middle order thinking skills (MOTS) questions are very important in Christian religious education learning. Evaluation of Christian religious education learning needs to be carried out by educators (teachers) based on each learning material so that students' academic achievement can be achieved well. In general, educators (teachers) do not fully understand the concept of middle order thinking skills (MOTS), as well as low order skills (LOTS) and high order skills (HOTS), so that some students find it difficult to answer questions given by educators (teachers) during learning evaluations. The type of research used is qualitative research with a literature review/literature study approach. The purpose of the study is to explain the understanding of the meaning of MOTS in Christian religious education learning on materials that are in accordance with learning objectives, so that students' academic achievement can be achieved well through learning evaluations. The results of the study are students are able to answer questions well from the middle order thinking skills (MOTS) type of questions when educators (teachers) create learning evaluation questions based on learning materials. Conclusion; To create evaluation questions for Christian religious education learning that students can answer and achieve academic success, ideally, questions should be based on the learning material they have learned.

The enactment of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code marks a pivotal moment in Indonesia’s effort to reform and decolonize its national penal system. Among its most significant departures from prior codifications beyond the elimination of the misdemeanor category is the removal of capital punishment as a primary sanction. This measure reflects a longstanding view that the death penalty is incompatible with Indonesian cultural values and, by extension, inconsistent with Pancasila as the supreme source of national law. This study investigates Pancasila’s function as the philosophical cornerstone in structuring the criminal justice system and defining the purposes of punishment within the National Criminal Code. Employing normative legal research through statutory and conceptual approaches, the findings reveal that the open character of Pancasila ideology accommodates an explicit legislative articulation of penal objectives embracing retributive, corrective, rehabilitative, and restorative orientations simultaneously. Article 51 of the new Criminal Code further demonstrates substantive congruence with Pancasila’s five principles: (1) the preventive objective embodies the Second Principle on just and civilized humanity; (2) the social reintegration of convicts is anchored in the Fifth Principle of social justice; (3) conflict resolution reflects the Third and Fourth Principles on national unity and deliberative democracy; and (4) cultivating genuine remorse in offenders expresses the First Principle of belief in the One Almighty God. Taken together, the national criminal law reform has successfully elevated Pancasila from an abstract foundational norm into a functioning normative guide for the conduct of criminal justice.

This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of the implementation of the staple food assistance program in Tapadaka Satu Village, Dumoga Tenggara Sub-district, Bolaang Mongondow Regency, Sulawesi Utara Province. The main sub-focus of this research includes five aspects of effectiveness measurement proposed by Sutrisno (2018), namely: (1) program understanding, (2) target accuracy, (3) timeliness, (4) achievement of objectives, and (5) real change. This research employs a qualitative, descriptive research approach. Data collection techniques include interviews, observation, and documentation. The results indicate that the implementation of the staple food assistance program in Tapadaka Satu Village has not been fully effective. In terms of program understanding, socialization has been conducted by the Social Affairs Office and village government, but some beneficiary families still do not fully understand the program’s mechanisms, rights, and obligations. In target accuracy, discrepancies in beneficiary data persist due to changing socio-economic conditions and the suboptimal updating of DTSEN data. In timeliness, assistance distribution generally follows the mechanism, but delays in fund disbursement still occur. In achieving objectives, the program helps reduce beneficiary families’ food expenditure burden, although delays affect results. Lastly, real change remains limited, short-term, and has not significantly improved community welfare.

The accelerating global ecological crisis, manifested in deforestation, biodiversity collapse, and extreme climate change, fundamentally reflects a deep-rooted moral and spiritual deterioration within modern humanity. Islamic Religious Education (PAI) holds a unique strategic position to address this crisis by systematically integrating naturalistic intelligence, the eighth dimension of Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligences theory, into the character formation process of students. This qualitative library research employs content analysis and conceptual analysis techniques applied to relevant primary and secondary academic sources published between 2019 and 2026. The study pursues three objectives: (1) to examine the conceptual and theological foundations of naturalistic intelligence within the Islamic educational framework; (2) to identify the reciprocal relationship patterns between naturalistic intelligence and the formation of religious-ecological character in students; and (3) to formulate integrative Islamic education management strategies for optimizing naturalistic intelligence. Findings reveal that naturalistic intelligence possesses robust theological grounding in Islamic tradition, anchored in the concepts of tafakkur, ayat kauniyah, khalifatullah fil ardh, and scientia sacra, none of which are peripheral but rather central to the Islamic worldview. The relationship between naturalistic intelligence and religious-ecological character is bidirectional and mutually reinforcing, operating through three sequential pathways: from naturalistic intelligence to theological consciousness, from theological consciousness to intrinsic ecological motivation, and from intrinsic motivation to consistent religious-ecological behavior. Islamic education management can optimize naturalistic intelligence development through four strategic pillars: reconstruction of the PAI curriculum based on ayat kauniyah, development of innovative eco-theological pedagogy, construction of an eco-conscious school culture, and strengthening of school-family-community partnerships. This study advances the concept of "Spiritual Eco-Literacy" as an original paradigmatic contribution to 21st-century Islamic education.

This study investigates the role of motivation and leadership in shaping employee performance, drawing on synthesized findings from prior scholarly research. A qualitative approach employing systematic literature review was adopted. Source materials were gathered from credible academic repositories including national and international journals covering topics of motivation, leadership, and workforce performance. Data were gathered through identification, screening, and critical appraisal of relevant literature, followed by content analysis to surface recurring patterns and relationships. Findings confirm that motivation both intrinsic and extrinsic consistently strengthens employees' work ethic, productivity, and organizational commitment. Effective leadership, meanwhile, fosters a conducive work climate, supplies clear direction, and cultivates employee engagement toward organizational objectives. The two variables function as mutually reinforcing drivers: strong leadership amplifies motivational forces, while a highly motivated workforce is more responsive to quality leadership. Together, they serve as pivotal pillars for sustained performance improvement. This study contributes a comprehensive synthesis of existing evidence that may guide organizations in crafting more effective human resource management strategies.

This study aims to examine the relationship between family support and depression levels among the elderly in Pejuang Village, Bekasi City, through a descriptive-narrative literature review. The review analyzed relevant scientific articles discussing family support, social support, and depression in older adults. Literature was selected based on the suitability of the elderly population, the presence of family or social support variables, and the measurement of depressive symptoms or depression levels. The analysis compared each article’s objectives, research design, respondent characteristics, instruments, findings, and conclusions. The results indicate that most studies found a relationship between family support or social support and depression among the elderly. Adequate family support, including emotional, instrumental, informational, and appraisal support, helps older adults feel cared for, valued, secure, and better able to adapt to the aging process. Preliminary findings at the Elderly Posyandu in Pejuang Village also show variations in family support and depression levels among elderly participants. Conversely, limited family support may increase loneliness, psychological distress, and depressive symptoms. Therefore, family support functions as a protective factor in reducing depression risk among older adults. Strengthening the involvement of families, health workers, and elderly posyandu cadres is necessary as a promotive and preventive strategy to maintain psychological well-being through education, early detection, and sustainable community-based assistance for vulnerable elderly groups living in community and family environments.
