The shipping industry faces challenges in reducing environmental impact and increasing operational efficiency. Among them are the expansion tanks on ship engines which play an important role in maintaining the pressure and water quality of the engine cooling system, which is still run manually on some ships. This can result in the risk of engine damage due to overheating or unstable pressure. Manual water filling that requires crew supervision can cause operational instability. This research designed a prototype of an automatic water filling system for expansion tanks, using microcontroller-based automation technology and an Internet of things system to make monitoring easier. This system aims to increase efficiency and reduce the risk of engine damage, thereby supporting the sustainability of ship operations in the future. In the trials that have been carried out, this tool is able to operate the expansion tank filling automatically and efficiently. The distance sensor used has high accuracy with a largest error of 1.6%, and an average error of 0.01%. Integration with the Internet of Things system can run well and reliably with 100% success and latency of 0.5 – 1 second. The system's overall success rate is 80%. So the system can be used in real working conditions

In the era of globalization and intense business competition, the quality of products and services is crucial for competitiveness, particularly for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) like Angkringan, a traditional culinary business in Indonesia. The article explores Total Quality Management (TQM) as a strategy for these businesses to enhance operational efficiency, reduce waste, and improve customer satisfaction. The study involved direct interviews with the owner of Angkringan D’Amerta to analyze TQM application covering quality control procedures, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement. Results indicated a deeper understanding of customer preferences and the importance of maintaining quality standards through the training of staff and development of operational procedures. The findings suggest that effective quality management can significantly enhance business performance and customer engagement in the digital era. The paper advocates for routine training, implementation of standard operating procedures, and regular quality assessments to ensure consistent service and product quality.

Microplastic pollution, particularly from textile waste, has become a significant environmental concern, especially in urban runoff systems. These pollutants pose a considerable threat to water quality, aquatic life, and human health. Traditional wastewater treatment methods often fall short in addressing the complexities of microplastic contamination. This research explores the integration of advanced biodegradable polymer coatings with solar-powered textile waste treatment to reduce microplastic pollution in urban runoff systems. Biodegradable polymers, such as polylactic acid (PLA) and polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA), are highlighted for their potential to efficiently filter microplastics while providing an eco-friendly alternative to conventional filtration technologies. By combining these materials with a small solar-powered unit, the prototype enables an off-grid, low-energy solution to treat textile wastewater in urban environments. The study includes testing the prototype in simulated urban runoff conditions with varying concentrations of microplastics, evaluating key performance indicators such as microplastic removal efficiency, energy consumption, and operational sustainability. Results demonstrate a significant reduction in microplastic concentration, indicating the effectiveness of biodegradable polymer coatings and solar-powered systems in treating urban runoff. The discussion addresses the feasibility of using local biodegradable materials, performance in real-world urban environments, and operational challenges such as maintenance and scalability. This innovative approach is compared with existing microplastic filtration methods, such as membrane filtration and adsorption, highlighting its advantages in terms of sustainability and cost-effectiveness. The findings suggest that this integrated system could offer a viable, low-cost solution for addressing microplastic pollution in urban drainage systems, with potential for widespread urban implementation.

The Internet of Things (IoT) has become one of the leading technologies in digital transformation, including in customer relationship management (CRM). This article discusses how IoT integration in CRM systems can improve customer satisfaction and retention through real-time data collection, service personalization, and data-driven decision making. With a literature study and implementation analysis, this research shows that IoT technology can provide deeper insight into customer behavior, improve operational efficiency, and create a more satisfying customer experience.

This study examines strategies to increase financial literacy to encourage the growth of MSME financial performance in Semarang Regency. Using a qualitative approach, the study involved 120 MSMEs with data collection through in-depth interviews, observations, and focus group discussions. The results of the study show that the condition of financial literacy is still low, with 65.3% of MSMEs not doing regular financial records, 77.5% mixing business-personal finance, and 81.7% lacking understanding of financial products. Structured mentoring programs with a holistic approach have proven to be effective in increasing the financial management capacity of MSMEs, marked by an increase in turnover (35.2%), operational efficiency (24.7%), and access to capital (19.8%). Multi-stakeholder collaboration and digital technology integration are key factors in the success of the program. The research results in a financial literacy development framework that can be adapted for implementation in other regions.

The rapid development of information technology and telecommunications has driven companies and MSMEs to adopt desktop, mobile, and web-based applications to enhance operational performance. PT HPS Painan Padang, previously relying on manual ticket bookings, faced challenges in efficiency and susceptibility to brokering practices. To address this, a web-based travel ticket booking application was developed, enabling customers to book tickets online more practically, quickly, and conveniently, anytime and anywhere. The integration of Natural Language Processing (NLP) technology in the form of a chatbot further enhances service efficiency and responsiveness. This feature provides real-time information on departure schedules, seat selection, and payment transactions while also supporting sentiment analysis and swift responses to customer feedback, ultimately improving service quality. The application, built using PHP, MySQL, and CodeIgniter with a Prototype development approach, adapts to changing market demands. Congestion in Pontianak City significantly impacts traffic flow, affecting both efficiency and comfort of road transit. The city's unsignalized intersections, crucial for managing vehicle flow from multiple directions, are under scrutiny for their performance. A study using the Indonesian Road Capacity Guidelines (IRCG) has assessed intersections, that the degree of saturation often exceeds acceptable limits, leading to congestion and increased delays. The research highlights that the current capacity of these intersections is insufficient to handle the growing traffic demand. For instance, under maximum traffic flow conditions, one intersection recorded a total traffic flow of 2,978.20 pcu/hour against a capacity of 2,716.40 pcu/hour, resulting in a degree of saturation of 1.096. This indicates a need for interventions like installing traffic signals or modifying road geometry to enhance flow efficiency. Despite these findings, the analysis of existing conditions specific unsignalized intersections showed a level of service value of E and F, suggesting that these intersections currently require immediate improvements. However, to further improve intersection performance, recommendations include reducing side obstacles, enhancing road geometry, and installing two-phase traffic signals, which offer the highest capacity with minimal delay. These measures aim to ensure that Pontianak City's transportation infrastructure can effectively.

PT X is a chemical manufacturing company specializing in the production of phosphoric acid and sulfuric acid. In addition to waste generated from production processes, PT X also produces domestic wastewater originating from supporting activities such as employee barracks, offices, and laundry facilities. This domestic wastewater contains parameters that can potentially pollute the environment, such as BOD, COD, TSS, ammonia, and Total Coliform, some of which exceed the quality standards set by the Minister of Environment Regulation No. 68 of 2016. This study aims to design an effective Domestic Wastewater Treatment Plant (DWTP) system to process the domestic wastewater of PT X. The proposed DWTP system consists of a collection tank, Anaerobic Baffled Reactor (ABR), Aerobic Biofilter, and disinfection unit. Each unit is designed to reduce pollutant parameters to meet quality standards. Based on the calculations, this system can handle a wastewater flow rate of 21.91 m³/day with high treatment efficiency for critical parameters. The study results indicate that the proposed DWTP design can reduce environmental pollution, improve wastewater treatment operational efficiency, and comply with applicable regulations. Implementing this system is highly recommended to ensure environmental sustainability and the continued operations of PT X.

This article discusses efforts to optimize the production process at the motorcycle carburetor company "Mantri Karbu" through the application of transformation methods. In the automotive industry, production efficiency is key to enhancing competitiveness and meeting the ever-growing market demand. This study identifies various challenges faced by Mantri Karbu, including long production times, resource waste, and inconsistent product quality. By implementing transformation methods, which include workflow analysis, waste reduction, and employee skill enhancement, the company can improve productivity and operational efficiency. The results of this implementation show a significant increase in production cycle time, a reduction in operational costs, and an improvement in customer satisfaction. This article aims to provide insights for other companies in similar industries to adopt effective strategies for optimizing their production processes.

This qualitative literature review examines the impact of strengthened tax enforcement on corporate cash holdings, synthesizing findings from recent empirical studies. The review highlights that enhanced tax enforcement prompts firms to adopt precautionary cash management strategies, often resulting in higher cash reserves to mitigate tax-related risks. Key factors influencing this relationship include firm size, governance quality, industry characteristics, and jurisdictional tax policies. Cross-country comparisons reveal significant variations, with institutional frameworks playing a crucial role in shaping corporate responses. While stricter enforcement ensures compliance, it may inadvertently constrain investment and operational efficiency due to increased liquidity demands. This study underscores the complexity of corporate financial decision-making under tax enforcement pressures and identifies gaps for future research, particularly in emerging markets.  

This study discusses the implementation of the Excise Services Information System (ExSIS) application at the Sidoarjo Customs and Excise Office as an innovation in public services. The objective is to evaluate the effectiveness of ExSIS in improving operational performance and provide recommendations for its development. This research employs a qualitative method with interviews conducted with Customs and Excise officers and service users, analyzed using Everett M. Rogers' diffusion of innovation theory. The results indicate that ExSIS improves time efficiency by up to 80% and reduces administrative errors by 70%. However, challenges such as user adaptation and the need for adequate infrastructure remain. In conclusion, ExSIS has enhanced efficiency and transparency in Customs and Excise administration. The study recommends continuous training, infrastructure upgrades, and internal policy revisions to maximize the application’s potential in supporting faster and more accurate public services.

The optimization of distribution costs from the Koe Bluder factory to various branches is the problem in this study, which aims to minimize total delivery costs and maintain service quality and time efficiency. In the context of the food industry, especially the increasingly popular bluder cake, effective distribution management is crucial to meet customer demand without increasing operational costs. This study uses transportation methods to analyze and optimize the distribution process, which includes determining the initial allocation and identifying factors that affect transportation costs. The approaches used include the North West Corner (NWC) and Modified Distribution Method (MODI) methods to allocate and minimize shipping costs. The analysis results show that a total transportation cost of Rp 124.825,000 can be achieved using both methods. This research highlights the importance of efficient distribution planning in improving operational efficiency and customer satisfaction, with an emphasis on reducing costs without sacrificing service quality

Through the Narrative Literature Review method, this research analyzes various literatures to identify the impact of AI on education, including challenges and potential solutions. The results show that AI supports more adaptive learning by analyzing students' individual needs, providing data-driven recommendations, and accelerating decision-making in the education process. In addition, AI improves operational efficiency through the automation of administrative tasks, such as managing student attendance and grades. However, AI implementation faces challenges such as limited infrastructure, lack of technical training for teachers, and data privacy issues. Evaluation was carried out through participant feedback to improve the quality of future activities. The findings reveal that implementing digital technologies in MCS enhances operational efficiency, flexibility, and organizational competitiveness. However, challenges such as workplace culture resistance and cybersecurity risks remain significant obstacles. Proposed solutions include continuous training and interdisciplinary collaboration to support sustainable digital transformation. Bankruptcy is a state in which a company is unable to fulfil its financial obligations or a situation where the corporation initially functions but thereafter fails in business management. Bankruptcy is a state in which a firm lacks the money to operate its operation. The objective of the research is to identify the variables contributing to bankruptcy in PT. Garuda Indonesia. This research employs the Altman Z-score methodology using a bankruptcy calculation. This analysis indicates that the firm is at risk of bankruptcy, since its present assets from 2016 to 2019 are insufficient to meet its financial obligations. Companies must use deliberate, clear, and suitable measures to enhance operational cost efficiency. An inadequate business plan and human resources without a clear vision and goal for the organisation contribute to losses. This research seeks to evaluate the financial performance of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk from 2016 to 2019 using the Altman Z-Score model. The population and sample in this research consist of the complete financial statements of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk for the years 2016 to 2019. The findings of this research indicate that from 2016 to 2019, the bankruptcy rate at PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk was unfavourable, as shown by a Z-Score below 1.10, signifying a state of bankruptcy. The most pronounced decrease was seen in the Working Capital to Total Asset ratio, particularly in 2019. This results from the annual growth in current obligations.

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia, including Melon Golden, play a crucial role in the nation's economy. With a significant contribution to GDP and employment absorption, the development of MSMEs through the utilization of technology, particularly digital marketing, is key to expanding markets and enhancing competitiveness. This study aims to analyze the impact of digital marketing on the sales of Melon Golden, as well as identify the digital marketing strategies used and the challenges in its implementation. The method used is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach, conducted at the MSME Melon Golden in Cilegon, Banten. The results show that digital marketing has made a significant contribution to increasing sales by leveraging social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp. The main challenges faced are limited technological understanding and increasing business competition. Strengthening Human Resources (HR) capacity in digital marketing is essential to improving operational efficiency and expanding into international markets. International business expansion strategies, such as product development and promotions tailored to the global market, also offer great opportunities for Melon Golden to increase sales and introduce products to international markets. This study provides valuable insights for MSMEs in addressing challenges and seizing opportunities in the digital era.

The phenomenon of digital transformation in MSMEs can be observed from several aspects, including: resource challenges during digital transformation because transformation, like any change, requires resources. Another phenomenon is organizational barriers: such as limited digital literacy, resistance to change, lack of skilled labor, limited capital, infrastructure, and technological barriers due to lack of knowledge. Apart from that, the lack of managerial support, a limited digital ecosystem, as well as concerns about data security and trust in technology are also obstacles. The technique for analyzing data in this research uses a literature review study. The research results show that there are multiple opportunities and attention for MSMEs, where there is a special need for MSMEs to carry out digital transformation in order to increase business competitiveness and expand market share. With digital transformation, the processes and operations of product downstreaming from producers to consumers will increase, speed of service, better trust, secure data exchange platforms, but also an opportunity for digital transformation to increase competitive advantage and expand market reach, increase operational efficiency. because it reduces time and costs for business activities, and increases market access.

This study aims to analyze the level of user satisfaction with the Library Information System using the PIECES Framework approach. This method includes six main indicators: Performance, Information, Economics, Control and Security, Efficiency, and Service. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 30 respondents consisting of library managers and users. The results showed that all indicators were SATISFIED with an average satisfaction score of 3.46. The Control and Security indicator obtained the highest score with a value of 3.93, while Service was the indicator with the lowest value, namely 3.51. In general, the Library Information System is considered to have fast, accurate, and efficient performance in supporting library management. However, there are several inputs related to service features that need to be improved, especially to facilitate new users. The results of this study confirm that the PIECES Framework is effective for evaluating user satisfaction, providing comprehensive guidance for information system analysis. The findings of the study are expected to be a reference for the development of library information systems in the future to improve service quality and operational efficiency.
