This study examines the integration of social activities and leadership values in shaping the character of students by the PIJAR Semarang Community as a form of community-based non-formal education. The background of this study stems from the increasing problems with student character, such as low empathy, responsibility, and self-confidence, as well as the increasing cases of violence and bullying in the educational environment. These conditions indicate that formal education has not been fully able to address the challenges of shaping student character. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The research was conducted at the PIJAR Semarang Community by involving community managers, volunteers, and students as research subjects. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation of activities, and documentation to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the character-building process. The results of the study show that the PIJAR Semarang Community integrates social activities and leadership values through academic and non-academic learning programs that are designed to be contextual and participatory. Social activities such as play-based learning, social action, field trips, art performances, and leadership training are the main media for instilling character values. The character values developed include responsibility, cooperation, empathy, discipline, and self-confidence. Leadership values are instilled through habit formation, volunteer role models, providing opportunities for participation, and the active involvement of students in every activity. This study also found several obstacles in the form of differences in student character, limited resources, and low self-confidence among some students in leadership. To overcome these obstacles, the PIJAR Semarang Community implemented intensive mentoring, motivation building, and adjustments to activities to make them more inclusive. Overall, this study confirms that the integration of social activities and leadership values in community-based non-formal education plays an important role in the holistic and sustainable character building of students.

The Great Mosque of Banten is a historical heritage that reflects cultural acculturation and the glory of Islam in the Indonesian archipelago. This study aims to analyze the forms of collaboration between the government, local communities, and site managers in preserving the Great Mosque of Banten using the Collaborative Governance theory by Ansell and Gash (2007). A descriptive qualitative approach was applied through interviews, field observations, and document studies conducted in the Great Mosque area. The findings reveal that collaboration among stakeholders has not yet reached optimal levels due to limited communication, trust gaps, and conflicting interests. Nevertheless, functional cooperation has emerged through joint activities in sanitation, security, and tour guide training. Based on the five indicators of the collaborative process, direct communication (face to face dialogue) and trust building remain major challenges, while shared understanding between government agencies, the foundation, and the community has begun to develop. This study highlights the importance of sustainable collaborative governance in preserving the religious, historical, and social values of the Great Mosque of Banten while supporting the welfare of the surrounding community.

Stunting is a phenomenon of growth impairment experienced by infants and young children under 5 years of age, particularly toddlers aged 0–59 months. Based on Global Prevalence Data, approximately 21.9% to 22% of toddlers worldwide experience stunting. Several factors that contribute to stunting include breastfeeding and complementary feeding (MP-ASI) practices. This study aims to explore the association between experiences of exclusive breastfeeding and complementary feeding (MP-ASI) and the incidence of stunting among children in the Kampa Community Health Center area. The method used in this study was a cross-sectional approach. The study was conducted during the period of January 8–13, 2024, at the Kampa Community Health Center, involving toddlers aged 6–59 months, with a population of 1,576 toddlers. The sample consisted of 68 mothers who had stunted toddlers, measured using a height-for-age (H/A) Z-score of less than -2 standard deviations (SD). The sampling technique applied was total sampling. Data collection was carried out using a microtoise and questionnaires. Data analysis was performed using the Chi-square method. The findings showed a significant relationship between a history of exclusive breastfeeding and the incidence of stunting with a P value of 0.00 < 0.05, as well as a significant relationship between exclusive complementary feeding (MP-ASI) and the incidence of stunting in toddlers with a P value of 0.04 < 0.05. It is recommended that health workers organize counseling classes on lactation and conduct demonstrations on how to prepare complementary foods (MP-ASI), focusing on the use of affordable local food ingredients that are rich in animal protein. In addition, continuous training for community health cadres needs to be carried out to improve early detection through accurate anthropometric measurements, so that toddlers at risk of stunting can be promptly managed.

In the Independent Curriculum implemented in schools starting the 2024/2025 academic year, there are Learning Outcomes (CP) that read "Students are able to modify/deconstruct literary works for creative economic purposes" and "Students are able to translate one text into another for creative economic purposes". In reality, in schools, there are still few teachers who connect literary works with economic issues, many teachers are still unfamiliar with the concept of translation, not many teachers have participated in translation training, and there is no guidebook for translating literary texts into non-literary texts or vice versa. This also applies to high school Indonesian Language teachers in Rembang Regency. Combining these two Learning Outcomes and connecting them to conditions in society, this community service conducted training on translating literary works into advertising texts for high school Indonesian Language teachers in Rembang Regency. The training was carried out with the first stage providing material on translation and advertising and the second stage providing mentoring to teachers to practice translating literary works into advertising.

This research is motivated by the high rate of inability to read the Quran in Indonesia and the urgency of providing appropriate learning stimuli during the golden period of child development. The Al-Husna method was chosen because it emphasizes the principles of simplicity, ease, and tartil, which are considered relevant to the characteristics of early childhood. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of the application of the Al-Husna method in Quran learning at PAUD Tahfidzul Qur'an Yurefi Kendari using the Goal-Oriented Evaluation Model. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The evaluation results show that the application of the Al-Husna method has met the learning objectives that have been set at PAUD Tahfidzul Qur'an Yurefi. These achievements include improving students' abilities in recognizing and pronouncing hijaiyah letters with the support of visual codes, mastery of syllables of hijaiyah letters, and understanding the punctuation system using standards according to Rasm Uthmani, achieving efficiency in the use of time and materials in the learning process, and creating a fun, active, and participatory learning environment for children. The identified challenges primarily relate to the need for educators to have a comprehensive understanding of the Al-Husna method. However, schools can address these challenges by implementing ongoing training and mentoring programs. Overall, the findings of this study indicate that the Al-Husna method is effective in building a foundation of basic Quranic reading skills and understanding in early childhood, using a child-friendly and meaningful approach. Therefore, this method can be used as a strategic alternative for teaching Quranic reading and understanding in educational institutions.

The global ecological crisis indicates that technical methods and regulations alone are insufficient to change human behavior related to the environment, thus requiring approaches that touch on moral and spiritual aspects. This study aims to design and examine spiritual-ecological education as an alternative approach in building sustainable environmental awareness. This research uses a qualitative method based on literature study using Miles and Huberman's analysis through summarization, exposition, and data conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that spiritual-ecological education has three important outcomes, namely: (1) the integration of the values of monotheism, khalifah, and ecological trust creates a solid environmental ethical framework; (2) the methods of ecosufism and scientia sacra deepen students' affective and reflective understanding of the relationship between humans and nature; and (3) contextual learning methods such as eco-pesantren and environmental programs may connect spiritual values with real ecological activities. This study contributes scientifically by developing a theoretical basis for spiritual-ecological education that combines theological, philosophical, and pedagogical aspects of environmental education. These results imply the importance of developing lesson plans and teacher training that place spirituality as the basis of ecological understanding, with the caveat that drawing general conclusions from the study results requires further empirical testing.

Storytelling has been widely recognized as an effective method for teaching English to young learners because it presents language in meaningful and engaging contexts. This study aims to explore the implementation of storytelling in teaching English to primary school students and to examine the perceived benefits and challenges from the teacher’s perspective. The study employed a qualitative descriptive research design involving one English teacher who taught Grade 6 students at SDN 261 Pinrang. The participant was selected through purposive sampling due to her experience in applying storytelling activities in English instruction at the lower primary level. Data were collected through a semi-structured interview and documentation, including lesson plans and teaching materials related to storytelling used in the classroom. The data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis by identifying recurring themes related to classroom implementation, student responses, perceived benefits, and instructional challenges. The findings reveal that storytelling was mainly implemented in listening and speaking activities using simple and familiar stories, visual aids, and follow-up tasks such as comprehension questions and story retelling. According to the teacher, storytelling contributed positively to students’ listening skills, vocabulary acquisition, motivation, and confidence in using English. Students showed higher levels of attention, engagement, and willingness to participate during storytelling sessions compared to traditional teaching methods. However, several challenges were also identified, including difficulty in selecting age-appropriate and culturally relevant stories, limited instructional time, large class size, and the teacher’s need for further training in designing effective storytelling activities. Despite these challenges, the study concludes that storytelling can create a positive and supportive learning environment when it is carefully planned and supported by adequate teacher preparation. The findings highlight the importance of instructional support to maximize the effectiveness of storytelling in primary EFL classrooms.

Leadership training has become a key instrument in public sector reform, driven by expectations that public managers act as strategic leaders to improve organizational performance and public service delivery. However, despite substantial investments, public administration research consistently highlights a gap between leadership training participation and tangible service improvements, particularly in resource-constrained local governments. Existing studies often examine leadership training effectiveness, training transfer, organizational change, and administrative capacity separately, resulting in limited integration across these interconnected processes. This fragmentation restricts understanding of how leadership competencies gained through training are transferred into practice, institutionalized through post-training change initiatives (Aksi Perubahan), and translated into sustainable administrative capacity and service outcomes. To address this gap, this integrative literature review synthesizes and critically analyzes peer-reviewed research on public sector leadership training, focusing on training transfer mechanisms, action-based change initiatives, and administrative capacity development in local governments, using the Tambrauw Regency Government as an illustrative context. The review draws on articles indexed in Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar published between 2016 and 2025, selected based on public sector relevance and theoretical rigor. Using thematic synthesis and conceptual mapping, the findings show that leadership training contributes to service improvement only when supported by a conducive transfer climate, strong organizational commitment, and structured change projects. These change initiatives mediate the transformation of individual competencies into organizational routines, while administrative capacity determines the sustainability of outcomes. The study contributes to administrative capacity theory and provides practical insights for designing effective leadership training policies in peripheral local government contexts.

This study discusses the implementation of the Yanbu'a Method at Pondok Pesantren Tanwirul Qulub. The education sector today faces various changes influenced by the rapid advancement of knowledge, technology, and the impact of globalization, which also affects religious education, particularly in the teaching of the Qur'an. One of the main obstacles in Qur'anic teaching is the use of methods that do not align with the tajwid or makhorijul huruf as taught by Prophet Muhammad SAW. This can lead to critical errors in reading the Qur'an. Therefore, this study aims to explore the challenges that arise in the process of teaching the Qur'an using the Yanbu'a Method at Pondok Pesantren Tanwirul Qulub, which is applied by KH. Agus Musta'in Ilyas. This research uses a qualitative approach based on Max Weber's Verstehen theory. The results show that the obstacles in implementing the Yanbu'a Method include a lack of coordination among teachers, significant differences in students' abilities, low student discipline in muroja'ah, and students' activities outside Qur'anic learning hours. To optimize the implementation of this method, it is recommended to provide teacher training and workshops, group students based on their abilities, strengthen evaluation and monitoring, establish consistent learning schedules, and increase student motivation.

The development of the digital era demands that youth possess practical and applicable information technology (IT) skills to enhance competitiveness in the workforce and entrepreneurship. However, the gap between theoretical knowledge and basic technical skills—such as computer assembly, installation, and troubleshooting—remains a real challenge among youth, particularly in community settings such as the Patitech Academy in Pati Regency. The training program was implemented using experiential learning methods and a participatory approach over three days. A total of 25 participants engaged in a series of activities, including socialization, technical training, intensive mentoring, and evaluation. Measurement instruments included written pre- and post-tests, practical performance observation, and satisfaction questionnaires. Data analysis showed a significant improvement in participant competencies. The average post-test score increased by 40.2% compared to the pre-test, with 85% of participants demonstrating mastery in assembling computers, installing operating systems, and performing basic troubleshooting independently. The troubleshooting aspect recorded the highest increase (45%). The success of the program was supported by direct learning methods, an ideal participant-instructor ratio, and a curriculum relevant to industry needs. Hands-on training proved effective in significantly improving youth technical IT competencies. The program not only built hard skills but also increased participants' self-confidence and independence. For sustainability, it is recommended to develop advanced modules, strengthen industry networking, and establish a digital alumni forum. The findings of this study can serve as a model for developing youth empowerment programs based on digital skills in other communities.
