This research examines two major figures of modern Islamic reformism, Muhammad Abduh and Rashid Ridha, and how their thoughts shaped the face of Islamic education in Indonesia. Through qualitative research with a historical-comparative approach, We found that while both men shared a vision of reform, their views on modernity were very different. Abduh tended to be more open in accepting Western progress while still maintaining Islamic values, while Ridha was more cautious and prioritised purifying Islamic teachings from outside influences. These two schools of thought then coloured the journey of Indonesian Islamic organisations such as Muhammadiyah and Persis, which still feel their impact today. This research suggests the need for a synthesis of the two approaches in developing Islamic education that is authentic yet responsive to the challenges of the times.

Manco, a traditional snack from Madiun, holds significant potential to grow and gain recognition beyond its region of origin. Its unique taste, texture, and embedded cultural and historical values serve as key assets in an increasingly competitive market. However, the main challenges faced by manco entrepreneurs are building a strong brand identity and conveying the product’s uniqueness through engaging storytelling. Effective branding through distinctive logos, packaging, and memorable taglines can enhance the product’s appeal and perceived value among consumers. Furthermore, compelling storytelling, such as narratives about traditional production processes, the struggles of business owners, and the use of natural ingredients, can foster emotional connections and consumer loyalty. Nevertheless, challenges remain, such as inconsistent brand identity usage and limited digital promotion. Therefore, branding and storytelling training are essential for manco entrepreneurs to maximize their product’s potential, expand their market, and establish manco as a culinary icon representing Madiun both nationally and internationally.

This study aims to examine the existence of the Church in the context of salvation history from the perspective of systematic theology, focusing on the role and vocation of the ecclesia as the community of God's people. The background of this study departs from the belief that the Church is not just a religious institution, but has an existential and historical basis in God's saving work. The Church acts as an extension of Christ's mission which is continued in the power of the Holy Spirit. In this research, the author uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach. The data sources consist of the Holy Bible, theological books related to the title, as well as relevant theological journal articles. This research was conducted to understand the relationship between the Church's identity and its participation in salvation history, both dogmatically and functionally. The results show that the Church is called to be an active witness in the work of salvation, by carrying out prophetic, liturgical, and social functions. As an ecclesia, the Church is not just a collection of individual believers, but a community that lives in relationship with Christ as the Head. The discussion emphasizes that the Church has a mandate to live in unity, holiness, catholicity, and apostolate, all of which are rooted in God's grace. In conclusion, the existence of the Church in salvation history is eschatological and missionary. The Church is called to be a sign and means of salvation, and to take part in the salvation of the world.

This study explores the crucial role of Siyaq al-Kalam in uncovering the nuances of meaning in the Qur’anic verses using a contextual semantic approach. The research employs qualitative methods through library research to analyze how linguistic, thematic, and historical contexts enrich the understanding of Qur’anic texts. The findings indicate that Siyaq al-Kalam—comprising linguistic, thematic, and situational contexts—plays a central role in preventing misinterpretation and in achieving a more authentic understanding of the Qur’an’s messages. This study confirms and deepens existing contextual semantic theories and contributes to the development of Qur’anic linguistic studies. Nevertheless, this research remains descriptive and requires further empirical studies to validate and expand its findings. It is therefore recommended that future studies incorporate field-based approaches and practical applications, so that the theoretical insights of Siyaq al-Kalam can be more effectively implemented in educational and interpretative practices of the Qur’an.

This study addresses the Islamic reform movement in Egypt as a strategic and progressive response to both Western colonial domination and internal stagnation within the Muslim society. It analyzes the intellectual legacy of key reformers—Jamal al-Din al-Afghani, Muhammad Abduh, and Rashid Rida—who endeavored to reinterpret Islamic tenets through the lens of modern rationalism, scientific advancement, and updated political governance. Employing a historical-analytical perspective, this paper explores how these thinkers initiated transformative changes in religious exegesis, educational renewal, and Islamic legal discourse. The findings indicate that the reform movement was not merely a defensive reaction to modernity but a deliberate effort to revive ijtihad, cleanse Islamic belief from irrational traditions, and stimulate a socio-political revival grounded in Islamic ethical principles. Ultimately, this reformist legacy laid the groundwork for the evolution of modern Islamic thought across the Arab world and remains highly relevant in present-day discussions on Islam and modernity.

The foundations of Western epistemology are profoundly rooted in ancient Greek philosophy. Throughout its historical development, this epistemological tradition has been shaped by rational, secular, and value-neutral modes of thought. It has given rise to dominant paradigms such as rationalism, empiricism, critical philosophy, and intuitionism. While these paradigms differ in their methodologies and approaches to acquiring knowledge, they are all grounded in a shared philosophical outlook that prioritizes human reason and sensory experience. This study investigates the core aspects of Western epistemology, including its historical evolution, defining traits, inherent limitations, and adverse effects. The research adopts a qualitative method based on literature review and philosophical analysis, employing a systematic and reflective approach. Data were gathered from library sources and examined using various analytical tools, including interpretation, induction and deduction, coherence analysis, holistic reasoning, heuristics, and descriptive analysis. The study concludes that Western epistemology is characterized by an overreliance on rational and empirical methods, a dichotomous worldview, anthropocentrism, resistance to spiritual insight, perpetual doubt, secularism, and a dismissal of sacred values. These traits give rise to fundamental weaknesses such as extreme rationalism, a fragmented view of truth and reality, secularist ideology, and the elevation of humanism and existentialism as ultimate values. The impact of Western epistemology extends beyond the West, influencing Islamic intellectual traditions by encouraging secularization, liberalism, and the advancement of scientific disciplines that exclude recognition of divine authority.

This study is based on the urgency to understand Calvinism, one of the most influential theological systems in the history of Christianity, which originated from the thoughts of John Calvin in the 16th century. This theology emphasizes the sovereignty of God in the process of salvation, formulated in five core doctrines known by the acronym TULIP: Total Depravity, Unconditional Election, Limited Atonement, Irresistible Grace, and Perseverance of the Saints. The research adopts a qualitative descriptive approach using a library research method, aiming to explore the theological concept of Calvinism through the analysis of theological, historical, and doctrinal literature. The findings reveal that Calvinism forms a systematic theology of salvation that is entirely centered on God’s grace, without reliance on human effort. Additionally, the study highlights how Calvinist teachings have significantly influenced Christian life and church practices, both historically and in the present day. Therefore, it is important for these teachings to be understood and applied contextually in Indonesia, to remain relevant and avoid being misinterpreted as rigid or fatalistic doctrine.

Over time, toys have evolved into collectibles that have artistic, historical, and investment value for people of all ages. This study aims to analyze Pop Mart's marketing strategy in shaping impulsive buying behavior. The study was conducted using descriptive qualitative methods. The research data was obtained from digital searches and observations from various official sources and related official websites. The results of the study show that Pop Mart, as a leader in this industry, has successfully implemented marketing strategies that utilize collaborations with artists, the blind box concept, and the principle of scarcity to create a unique and attractive shopping experience for its consumers. Collaborations with artists play an important role in building brand identity and increasing product appeal. By offering limited editions of popular characters such as Molly, Labubu, and SkullPanda, Pop Mart has been able to attract collectors and art enthusiasts who have an emotional connection to these works. This has led to increased brand loyalty and purchase frequency. The blind box concept creates an element of surprise that triggers excitement when opening the packaging, thereby encouraging repeat purchases. Additionally, the scarcity marketing strategy, combined with the application of FOMO behavior, successfully creates a sense of urgency among consumers. Products with limited editions and purchase quantity restrictions create exclusivity, making consumers feel they must act quickly to obtain the product before it sells out.

The Qur’an is the last sacred text sent down by Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). It was dispatched as a follow-up and conclusion to the earlier texts. There are clear resemblances between the teachings and messages present in the Qur’an and those in previous holy texts. Furthermore, the Qur’an stands as the most significant and unparalleled miracle bestowed upon the Prophet Muhammad by Allah. It encompasses various miraculous features. Nonetheless, certain individuals, particularly non-believers, reject it as factual. They view the Qur’an as merely common discourse or a text produced by the Prophet Muhammad, lacking true importance or significance. Typically, the miracles of the Qur’an can be classified into various types, including its linguistic beauty, its scientific precision, its narratives of historical peoples, and others. This paper will examine the extraordinary characteristics of the Qur’an by analyzing its linguistic elements

This article discusses the Double Movement theory developed by Fazlur Rahman as a hermeneutic method in the renewal of Islamic law. This theory emphasizes two main movements: first, understanding the socio-historical context of the revelation of the Qur'an to explore universal moral values behind legal provisions; second, actualizing these values into contemporary social and cultural contexts. Through a literature review and case analysis on aspects of family law and economic law in Indonesia, this article shows how the Double Movement theory provides more flexible, dynamic, and relevant interpretive solutions. This approach allows Islamic law to adapt to modern social dynamics without losing its transcendental moral essence. In addition, this approach opens up space for progressive and contextual ijtihad, which is greatly needed in responding to various new challenges in Muslim society. Thus, this theory makes an important contribution to the development of an Islamic legal methodology that is responsive and inclusive to the changing times.

Surabaya known as the City of Heroes, has various historical buildings scattered in strategic areas, one of which is in Kota Lama Surabaya. The existence of these buildings has been designated as cultural heritage that must be preserved in order to maintain the historical value and identity of the city. However, the implementation of preservation still encounters various obstacles, especially in technical and administrative aspects, as well as the lack of public understanding of the importance of preservation. This research aims to describe the implementation of Surabaya City Regional Regulation Number 1 Year 2024 on the Preservation and Management of Cultural Heritage, with a focus on De Javasche Bank Museum as the object of research. Researchers used descriptive qualitative methods with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, field observations, documentation, and review of policy documents. The implementation theory of Ripley and Franklin was used as an analytical knife that includes three indicators, namely the level of compliance with regulations, the smooth routine of functions and coordination between implementers, and the realization of the desired performance and impact. The results show that the implementation of the local regulation has shown progress at the institutional level through coordination across Regional Apparatus Organizations and the implementation of SOPs by museum managers. However, there are still obstacles such as the lack of optimal human resources experts, weak administrative coordination, and the absence of a special management institution. Positive impacts such as increased visitation and community involvement are starting to be seen, but the overall effectiveness of implementation still requires strengthening in various sectors to ensure the sustainability of inclusive preservation.

This paper discusses the issue of gender equality from the perspective of Islamic family law and positive law in Indonesia. This study begins with a historical exploration of the treatment of women in the pre-Islamic era which was full of discrimination and oppression, until the arrival of Islam which brought about a major transformation towards respecting and recognizing women's rights. Furthermore, this paper reviews the comparison between the values of gender equality in ideal Islamic family law with practices that are still influenced by patriarchal culture, as well as Indonesia's positive legal response to gender issues, such as through the Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI), the Marriage Law, and the ratification of international conventions such as CEDAW. This study also highlights the role and existence of women in the family as children, wives, and mothers, as well as the challenges faced by women in fighting for rights and equality in the domestic and public spheres. This paper emphasizes that achieving fair and balanced gender equality requires a reinterpretation of the law based on values of justice and a structural commitment to empowering women in all aspects of life.
