This research begins with the complexity of challenges faced by Christian families in the modern era, such as issues of communication, loyalty, and role imbalance. The aim is to examine the theological meaning of marriage as a divine institution in Christianity, focusing on the core values of love, loyalty, and responsibility. Furthermore, this research formulates implementative strategies to create a harmonious and strong Christian family. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a literature study method, analyzing various biblical sources, books, and journals on Christian marriage. Data were analyzed by selecting, grouping, and summarizing the contents of the readings using a theological relational model, where love and loyalty are the foundation that gives rise to responsibility. The results show that Christian marriage is the embodiment of God's plan, a reflection of Christ's love, and the foundation for a harmonious family. Implementative strategies in modern life include: building communication based on love, maintaining loyalty in the digital age, implementing servant leadership and equal partnerships, making the family a community of faith, and managing conflict with forgiveness. This research is expected to strengthen Christian family life in the modern era through a deeper understanding of the theological meaning of marriage and the application of relevant practical strategies. Academically, this research contributes to the development of practical theology.

Fasting involves refraining from actions that would invalidate the fast, with the intention of observing it from sunrise to sunset. When practiced with sincerity, fasting offers not only spiritual rewards but also the potential for the forgiveness of past and future sins. Research suggests that fasting provides a beneficial rest period for the digestive system, including enzymes and hormones, which typically remain active in digesting food. This constant activity, when not fasting, may lead to various health complications, such as skin conditions, premature aging, and cardiovascular issues. Additionally, fasting can serve as a means of overcoming sinful behaviors, helping individuals return to their innate human state.

The sulang-sulang hariapan tradition is a significant cultural heritage of the Batak Toba community that embodies values of love, respect for elders, family reconciliation, equitable inheritance distribution, and leadership regeneration. The ritual is traditionally performed by offering food to parents who have reached the status of saur matua, symbolizing gratitude and respect. It is also accompanied by requests for blessings, advice, and public acknowledgment of mistakes, thus fostering peace, forgiveness, and social harmony within the community. However, in contemporary practice, the meaning of this tradition has gradually shifted toward a more formalized ceremony that emphasizes social status rather than its original spiritual and communal values. This study employs descriptive qualitative methods, combining field research with theological reflection, to examine how the values inherent in sulang-sulang hariapan can be understood in the light of the Gospel. The findings indicate that the tradition has profound potential to serve as a contextual medium for Christian faith expression. Therefore, it is crucial to revitalize its theological meaning so that the tradition remains relevant and transformative in strengthening family bonds and nurturing leadership in the modern era.

The modern doctrine of criminal responsibility is built on the premise of free will and individual deliberative capacity. However, advances in neurogenetics, particularly findings regarding MAOA-L gene expression, have presented a structural disruption to this framework. The MAOA-L gene has been empirically associated with impaired impulse regulation and increased aggressive responses, particularly in combination with childhood trauma. This study aims to evaluate how MAOA-L gene expression influences the capacity for criminal responsibility and to analyze the tension between classical legal constructs and biological determinants within the structure of culpability. The research method employed normative research with a conceptual approach. The results indicate that the dichotomy-based mens rea doctrine fails to accommodate the degree of control capacity shaped by neurobiological structures. MAOA-L cannot be treated as a basis for forgiveness, but rather serves as an evaluative variable in assessing the spectrum of legal responsibility. In this position, criminal law maintains the principle of individual responsibility but formulates it through a new framework based on actual capacity rather than a universal voluntaristic assumption. This reformulation is necessary to avoid disproportionate attribution of blame and to allow criminal law to move toward a system that is more adaptive to biological realities without falling into determinism.

Plankton are microorganisms that have an important role in aquatic ecosystems, especially in fisheries cultivation activities. The presence of plankton functions as natural feed for aquatic organisms, thus affecting the growth and survival of aquaculture biota. However, in the rainy season the quality of pond water often changes, especially in pH parameters, which can disrupt the stability of aquatic ecosystems. One of the efforts made to maintain pH stability is with periodic liming techniques. This study aims to determine the biodiversity of plankton in the Bossbaster cultivation pond by applying periodic calcification techniques. The research was carried out on October 10–23, 2022 at the Bossbaster cultivation pond. The study focuses on aspects of abundance, diversity, uniformity, and dominance of plankton, both phytoplankton and zooplankton. The results showed that the average phytoplankton abundance in pond 1 was 41,002 cells/L, pond 2 was 40,853 cells/L, and pond 3 was 32,826 cells/L. Meanwhile, the average zooplankton abundance in pond 1 was 51 ind/L, pond 2 was 52 ind/L, and pond 3 was 66 ind/L. The average value of the phytoplankton diversity index ranged from 0.809–0.930,  Meanwhile, zooplankton ranges from 1.1863–1.4740. The phytoplankton uniformity index ranges from 0.4458–0.4814, while zooplankton reaches 0.880–0.881. The phytoplankton dominance index is in the range of 0.479–0.4809, and zooplankton is in the range of 0.2645–0.3514. These findings show that periodic liming techniques are able to maintain the stability of pond conditions so as to support the sustainability of plankton as an indicator of water quality. Thus, the application of this technique can be an important strategy in supporting the sustainability of aquaculture while improving the efficiency of pond management in a sustainable, innovative, and adaptive manner to changes in the increasingly complex aquatic environment.

This study aims to explore the concept of self-healing in the perspective of the Qur'an as a method of recovery and maintenance of mental health. The research uses a qualitative approach with a library research method with primary sources of the Qur'an and secondary sources in the form of books of interpretation, psychological literature, and Islamic books. The analysis technique uses thematic content analysis with the maudhū'ī interpretation method to collect and analyze verses related to self-healing values such as patience, dhikr, tawakkul, prayer, and gratitude with a contextual and psychological approach. The results show that mental health disorders according to the Qur'an can be caused by life tests and despicable traits such as despair, pride, spite, anger, prejudice, and anxiety, which result in mental unrest if not resolved. The Qur'an provides self-healing methods through the values of forgiveness, gratitude, patience, prayer, remembrance, and muhasabah, which are psychologically proven to help individuals calm the soul, control emotions, increase self-resilience, and strengthen faith in facing life's tests. Thus, Qur'an-based self-healing makes a significant contribution to mental health recovery, making individuals wiser, stronger, and having peace and cleanliness of heart in living life.

The rapid development of technology and globalization has significantly impacted the character of younger generations, contributing to the decline of moral and spiritual values. Islamic education, especially through character-based approaches, plays a crucial role in shaping individuals with noble character. This study aims to explore the Islamic character education values contained in Kitab Al-Arba’in An-Nawawiyyah by Sheikh An-Nawawi and evaluate their relevance in the context of contemporary education. Employing a qualitative-descriptive approach with library research methods, this study analyzes 42 selected hadiths that encompass aspects of faith, ethics, and social relations. The findings reveal that divine values (e.g., piety, trust in God, and prayer) and human values (e.g., speaking kindly, helping others, and forgiveness) in this collection are highly relevant as character education solutions amid today's moral crisis. Therefore, Kitab Al-Arba’in An-Nawawiyyah is a valuable reference for integrating Islamic character education into curricula to nurture faithful, ethical, and socially responsible generations.

The purpose of this study is to find out about someone who has a mental disorder periodically committing an unlawful act, can be given legal responsibility for his actions, and the basis for the judge's considerations in sentencing the perpetrator of the crime of murder who has a mental disorder periodically. The type of research is normative legal research. The research data collection technique uses literature studies. The data will then be analyzed using qualitative analysis. The results of the study show that based on the theory of criminal responsibility, a person with a mental disorder cannot be punished because he is considered not to have the awareness and ability to be responsible or his actions, but there is a submission in the case of periodic mental disorders experienced by the defendant in the sentence, the legal status of the perpetrator does not immediately get a full element of forgiveness, in the audit the judge considered it worthy of being held criminally responsible because his actions had fulfilled the elements of criminal responsibility. The judge's decision ignored the conditions of the conversation with a history of periodic mental disorders showing weaknesses in aspects, legal certainty, benefits and protection of human rights, in contrast to the principles of legalization and violation of national law and imprisoning people who have a history or even are mentally ill does not provide benefits to the person himself.

The church is called to bring about the harmony and unity of Christ in a divided world. However, internal conflict often arises from theological differences, leadership styles, cultural preferences, and interpersonal issues. Conflict that is not managed wisely can damage the integrity and witness of the church. This study uses a library research method and finds that harmony is an active process that requires dialogue, openness, acceptance, mutual respect, and love. The roots of church conflict are addressed through loving communication (Matthew 18), biblical mediation and negotiation training, cultivating a culture of forgiveness and reconciliation, and transparent and integrity-based leadership. Although challenges such as ego exist, the power of the gospel, the Holy Spirit, and the potential for growth offer great opportunities. A reconciling church is a powerful testimony of Christ's reconciling love.

This article explores the concept of intentional murder as addressed in both Islamic law and Indonesian positive law, focusing on the Hadith narrated by Abu Dawud and An-Nasa’i (Bulughul Maram No. 1191) and Article 338 of the Indonesian Penal Code (KUHP). The study examines how intentional murder is viewed and punished in Islam, where the family of the victim has the right to choose between seeking qishash (retaliatory punishment) or accepting diyat (compensation), emphasizing the values of justice, forgiveness, and social harmony. In contrast, the Indonesian Penal Code stipulates a fixed punishment, i.e., imprisonment for up to 15 years, without providing a mechanism for the victim's family to pardon the offender. The article further highlights the differences in these two legal frameworks, underscoring the broader implications of justice and societal peace. Both systems, despite their differences, aim to protect the sanctity of life and ensure that justice is served, while fostering a more just and orderly society. This comparative analysis sheds light on the moral and legal complexities surrounding intentional murder and the varying ways in which justice is pursued in both Islamic and secular legal traditions.
