However, its implementation must adhere to ethical principles, such as maintaining confidentiality and being objective in assessment. This article aims to discuss the importance of ethics in the psychological assessment process, particularly in the context of guidance and counseling services in schools. Using a literature review method, this article examines various literature related to ethical codes, assessment principles, and challenges frequently faced by counselors. The findings indicate that counselors must understand the boundaries of their authority in using assessment tools, maintain the confidentiality of clients' data, and continuously develop their professional competencies. By applying appropriate ethics, assessments can be conducted fairly, accurately, and maintain clients' trust in counseling services.

This study discusses the importance of Guidance and Counseling (BK) activities in schools, which must be carried out by competent BK teachers or counselors. Referring to the Ministry of Education and Culture Regulation No. 111 of 2014, the presence of trained BK teachers is vital in helping students overcome academic and emotional challenges. This research aims to explore the practices of BK teachers in maintaining the confidentiality and objectivity of psychological assessment results, as well as to identify the obstacles they face. The method used is qualitative research through literature review, with data collection conducted purposively and using snowball techniques. The results indicate that ethical principles such as confidentiality, voluntariness, and openness are applied by BK teachers at school, creating a safe environment for students. However, BK teachers with non-BK educational backgrounds still have limited understanding of the code of ethics. These findings emphasize the need for enhancing BK teachers' competencies to provide more effective services in shaping students' ethics and morals and supporting their character development.

In contrast, objective tests like the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) and the Edwards Personal Preference Schedule (EPPS) are designed to produce consistent and quantifiable data. This study employed a library research method, reviewing both primary and secondary sources to provide a comprehensive overview. In counseling practice, the choice of psychological test depends on the assessment goals and the client's conditions. The article emphasizes the necessity for professional competence and ethical considerations, including cultural sensitivity and the ability to accurately interpret test results.

Meanwhile, obstacles to maintaining objectivity can be overcome through increased competence, utilization of reliable assessment tools, and supervision support. The results of this study are expected to be a reference for counselors in implementing assessments ethically and professionally.

The research method used is literature review, with data sources including books, journals, scientific articles, and other academic documents. The data were analyzed using content analysis to examine and summarize information from various sources. In addition, several case studies were reviewed to strengthen the understanding of how both types of tests are applied in practice. The results show that objective tests are easier to score and more efficient, while projective tests can explore deeper aspects of personality. Both types of tests can complement each other when used appropriately according to students’ needs and counseling goals.

This study aims to analyze the role of psychological assessment in improving the effectiveness of guidance and counseling services in educational settings through a qualitative literature review. The results of the study indicate that psychological assessment has two main roles: first, helping counselors understand the internal dynamics, cultural context, strengths, and resources of clients; second, providing various types of assessment instruments that can be selected according to needs, including personality, cognitive, emotional, behavioral, projective, multicultural, and technology-based assessments. Appropriate assessment not only functions as a diagnostic tool but also as a therapeutic intervention that encourages client self-awareness. The implementation of quality psychological assessment is the foundation for designing effective and responsive counseling services to the individual needs of students, so that it can improve the overall quality of guidance and counseling services in educational settings.

This article serves as a literature review intended to explore the features of 21st century learning and their implications for assessment, specifically authentic assessment. Given globalization and rapid technological advancements, the educational paradigm has shifted from a teacher-centered approach to a student-centered approach. Learning in the 21st century prioritizes the enhancement of critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication skills (often referred to as the 4Cs). Therefore, conventional assessment is considered inadequate to measure learning outcomes that are complex and contextual. This study explores various relevant scientific sources to formulate a comprehensive understanding of authentic assessment as an approach that is in line with the characteristics of 21st century learning. Authentic assessment emphasizes real, contextual processes and products, and provides meaningful learning experiences. The findings of this study recommend that teachers need to design assessments that are integrated with the learning process, encourage active student involvement, and assess abilities holistically. This study is expected to be a guide for education professionals in creating assessment methods that are in line with 21st century requirements.

This study examines the role of character-based assessment of independence in improving problem-solving skills in elementary school students. Character-based assessment of independence assesses students' learning process, not just academic results, with a focus on developing values of independence such as responsibility, initiative, and self-management skills. Through this approach, students are trained to face challenges independently, manage time, and find solutions creatively. Literature review shows a positive relationship between the level of student independence and increased problem-solving skills. However, the implementation of this assessment faces challenges such as lack of teacher understanding, time constraints, and system support. Nevertheless, character-based assessment of independence remains relevant and needs to be implemented more widely with training support for teachers, the use of technology in assessment, and synergy between schools, parents, and communities. The results of this study suggest that independence assessment should be an integral part of learning practices to create a generation of independent and solution-oriented learners.

Data were collected through observation, interviews, and questionnaires, and analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The results show that the developed formative assessment model is effective in increasing reflective awareness, academic responsibility, and honesty culture in the classroom. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of integrating character values in teachers' daily assessment practices.
