This article analyzes the security crisis in Haiti through the lens of constructivist theory in International Relations. Haiti represents one of the clearest examples of a failed state in the Western Hemisphere, where state authority has collapsed and been replaced by armed criminal groups known as gangs. Using a constructivist perspective, this article traces how social constructions, identities, and historically formed norms have shaped the fragility of the Haitian state. The study also integrates the concept of human security to illustrate the real impact of this crisis on citizens' security across seven dimensions: economic, food, health, environmental, personal, community, and political. The main finding suggests that Haiti's state failure is not merely a product of weak formal institutions, but the result of a long process of social construction, encompassing the legacy of colonialism, crippling reparation payments, counterproductive foreign intervention, and the normalization of violence in everyday life. From a constructivist perspective, restoring security in Haiti requires narrative reconstruction, rebuilding social trust, and comprehensive reform of institutional norms.

This study aims to analyze the reconceptualization of national security in the digital era through the case of the 2021 Facebook data breach involving 533 million users across 106 countries. As digital technologies become increasingly integrated into governance, economic activities, and social interactions, cyber threats have emerged as a significant challenge to contemporary security frameworks. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach using library research methods, drawing upon academic literature, official reports, and relevant policy documents. The findings indicate that national security has evolved from a traditional military-centered concept toward a broader and multidimensional framework that includes cyber threats as a form of non-traditional security challenge. The Facebook data breach demonstrates how cyber threats transcend geographical boundaries, involve complex attribution problems, and generate multidimensional impacts on individuals, societies, economies, and states. Through the lens of Securitization Theory developed by Buzan, Wæver, and de Wilde (1998), the incident illustrates how data security has become securitized as a matter of national and international concern. Furthermore, the Human Security framework proposed by UNDP (1994) highlights the vulnerability of individuals whose personal information becomes exposed in the digital environment. This study concludes that cybersecurity should be recognized as a fundamental pillar of national security in the digital age, requiring comprehensive strategies that integrate technological resilience, data protection regulations, human resource development, and international cooperation.

Climate change is a global issue that not only impacts the environment but also threatens a country's food security. Indonesia, as a country that relies heavily on the agriculture, fisheries, and livestock sectors, faces high vulnerability to climate change. This study aims to analyze the impact of climate change on the agriculture, livestock, and fisheries sectors. This study used a qualitative method with a literature study approach through data analysis derived from scientific journals, books, and institutional reports. The results of the study indicate that climate change has a significant impact on these three sectors through changes in weather, rainfall patterns, and extreme weather. The El Niño phenomenon can reduce agricultural production, reduce livestock productivity, and disrupt fishermen's catches. These conditions can disrupt national food availability and stability and can increase social and economic vulnerability of the community. Therefore, climate change can be seen as a non-traditional threat to Indonesia's food security, requiring sustainable adaptation efforts to maintain food security in the future.

This research analyzes the interconnection between energy geopolitics and global security through the case study of Venezuela, the country with the world's largest proven oil reserves. The background highlights that energy has become a strategic commodity driving geopolitical tensions in the international system. The objective is to answer three fundamental questions: why energy is critically needed, how the distribution of the world's oil reserves creates strategic inequality, and how the Venezuela case illustrates resource grabbing mechanisms. The method used is qualitative with a single case study approach, employing neorealism and dependency theory as analytical frameworks, with data sourced from official reports of international organizations (OPEC, IEA, IMF, EIA), news media, and academic literature. The findings reveal that the United States' escalating pressure on Venezuela from economic sanctions, maritime blockades, to military threats reflects a systematic pattern of resource imperialism disguised as counter-narcotics efforts. The impact on Venezuela includes GDP contraction of 4 percent, hyperinflation exceeding 530 percent, and 8 million people displaced. The implications underscore that the current global energy order remains dominated by zero-sum logic, requiring reform of international energy governance to be more just and sustainable.

The escalation of negative sentiment in the digital space towards Rohingya refugees in Indonesia throughout 2023-2026 has reflected a shift in public perspectives, from humanitarian principles to restictive rejection. This study aims to analyze how digital discourse on TikTok dan Instagram platforms frames the Rohingyan refugee issue as a national security threat through the lens of Barry Buzan`s Securitization Theory and Ruth Wodak`s Critical Discourse Analysis (AWK). This study uses qualitative methods with note-taking techniques and filtering hastag-based viral data related to refugee rejection. The results show that the securitization process was successfully driven by three main typologies of netizen narratives: domestic socio-economic jealousy, delegetimization of Internasional authorities (UNHCR) by referring to popular legal discourse on the 1945 Constitution, and demands for an active role for the military (TNI AL) and Polair at maritime borders. The accumulation of speech acts that have gone viral on social media is evidence of the creation of strong horizontal pressure, thus urging the Indonesian goverment to review its policies towards a more restrictive direction (viral-based policy) to prioritize national soverignity and security over global humanitarian commitments.

Financial information systems in higher education institutions manage highly sensitive assets, including tuition payments, scholarships, payroll, vendor transactions, budgeting, and institutional financial reporting. Although ISO/IEC 27001:2022 provides a risk-based foundation for establishing an Information Security Management System, its implementation in universities is frequently constrained by fragmented governance, limited resources, complex asset environments, inconsistent managerial commitment, cultural resistance, and limited real-time monitoring capability. This study aims to develop an integrated security evaluation model for campus financial information systems by combining ISO/IEC 27001:2022, Zero Trust Architecture, AI-driven threat detection, security maturity assessment, and human-factor analysis. The study adopts a mixed-method sequential explanatory design integrated with Design Science Research. Quantitative stages include asset identification, risk scoring, ISO 27001 control gap analysis, maturity assessment, Zero Trust readiness assessment, and AI-driven detection readiness assessment. Qualitative stages include document analysis, semi-structured interviews, observation, expert judgment, and thematic analysis to examine organizational, cultural, and behavioral factors influencing security control effectiveness. The proposed outcome is the HEFIS-ISMS Model, an integrated framework consisting of seven layers: ISO 27001 control compliance, risk-based asset protection, security maturity, human and organizational factors, Zero Trust readiness, AI-driven detection readiness, and improvement roadmap. The model is expected to address the static and compliance-oriented limitations of conventional ISO 27001 assessments by introducing adaptive access control, continuous monitoring, anomaly detection readiness, and phased implementation guidance. The study contributes theoretically to cybersecurity governance in higher education and practically to risk-prioritized security improvement for resource-constrained universities.

The protection of sensitive information in the financial sector requires a security architecture capable of preserving confidentiality, integrity, availability, auditability, and regulatory accountability across multiple institutions. Conventional centralized security models remain vulnerable to single points of failure, unauthorized access, data manipulation, and limited transparency in inter-organizational data sharing. Blockchain offers tamper-resistant records, decentralized trust, and verifiable audit trails; however, its direct implementation in financial systems is constrained by scalability limitations, smart contract vulnerabilities, privacy leakage, and conflicts between immutable ledgers and data protection principles. This study aims to develop a blockchain-based data security system for protecting sensitive financial information by integrating permissioned blockchain and Zero-Knowledge Proofs. The proposed method adopts a consortium-oriented permissioned blockchain architecture, represented by Hyperledger Fabric, to ensure controlled participation, certificate-based identity management, endorsement policies, and auditable transaction validation. Smart contracts are designed as policy-enforcement components for consent management, access authorization, data commitment, revocation, and audit logging. Zero-Knowledge Proofs are incorporated to verify customer attributes, eligibility, and access rights without disclosing raw personal or financial data. Sensitive information is stored off-chain in encrypted form, while the blockchain records only cryptographic commitments, hashes, consent states, and audit events. The expected result is a security model that improves data integrity, controlled access, privacy-preserving verification, and compliance-oriented accountability while reducing unnecessary exposure of sensitive data on-chain. The implication of this research is the provision of a technically coherent framework for financial institutions seeking to adopt blockchain securely in regulated environments, especially where data confidentiality, auditability, and privacy compliance must be achieved simultaneously.

Homemade food is increasingly dominating the choices of consumers who are oriented towards a healthy lifestyle. However, the belief that self-cooking is synonymous with food safety is not always supported by scientific evidence. This Narrative Review aims to build an in-depth thematic synthesis of the various dimensions of food safety risks that arise in the process of preparing healthy homemade food, ranging from biological and chemical contamination, to human behavioral factors as the main agents of contamination. The study was conducted against seven reputable sources of scientific literature published between 2010–2025, including observational, experimental, cross-sectional, and review studies. Four main themes were identified: (1) risky behaviors in the household kitchen as the dominant factor; (2) unexpected cross-contamination pathways including table salt as a vector; (3) chemical and biological contaminants hidden in "healthy" materials; and (4) evidence-based interventions that have been proven to be effective. This review confirms that homemade food safety is a behavioral issue, not just a technical one, so the intervention approach must be multidimensional and sustainable.

Indonesia's maritime security faces increasingly complex challenges due to the rise of hybrid threats that combine traditional and non-traditional elements. One of the main threats is the shadow fleet, operating covertly with unregistered ships, evading detection, and exploiting weaknesses in maritime surveillance to engage in illegal activities such as smuggling, illegal transshipment, and unlawful exploitation of natural resources. This phenomenon exacerbates Indonesia's maritime security situation, particularly in strategic areas like the Natuna Sea and the Sunda Strait, which are vulnerable to geopolitical conflicts and overlapping territorial claims. Additionally, transnational crimes such as piracy, drug trafficking, and human trafficking further undermine security in Indonesian waters. To address these threats, Indonesia needs to strengthen its maritime surveillance capacity by adopting advanced technologies such as early detection sistems and the Automatic Identification Sistem (AIS), as well as enhancing coordination between maritime agencies like Bakamla and the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) to improve responses to harder-to-detect threats. Moreover, international cooperation with neighboring countries and regional maritime organizations like ASEAN must be bolstered to tackle cross-border threats. Strengthening surveillance, modernizing technology, and fostering more integrative maritime diplomacy will be crucial in safeguarding Indonesia's maritime sovereignty and ensuring the stability of this increasingly strategic maritime region.

This study examines Egypt's security dilemma in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait in response to the escalation of Houthi attacks on global maritime trade routes. Since late 2023, Houthi attacks on commercial ships in the Red Sea have disrupted major sea trade lanes, posing a direct strategic threat to Egypt, which relies heavily on Suez Canal revenues as a primary source of national income. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical method, using secondary data from academic journals, international policy reports, and credible news sources. The analysis is grounded in Security Dilemma theory and the concept of Maritime Security within the framework of International Relations. Findings show that Egypt faces a complex strategic dilemma: on one hand, it must safeguard its economic interests through stable Suez Canal operations; on the other, direct military intervention against the Houthis risks political backlash from Arab public opinion and entanglement in Yemen's civil war. Egypt's response has therefore been calibrated, prioritizing diplomatic channels and multilateral coalition participation over unilateral military action. This research contributes a novelty by specifically mapping Egypt's strategic constraints in the Red Sea as a middle power caught between great power competition and regional non-state actor threats.

Melasma is a chronic acquired hyperpigmentation disorder affecting sun-exposed facial areas and associated with ultraviolet exposure, hormonal influences, and genetic predisposition. This review aims to describe the mechanisms of action, effectiveness, and safety of topical depigmenting agents in melasma management. Hydroquinone remains the traditional gold standard through tyrosinase inhibition, while triple-combination therapy with retinoids and corticosteroids demonstrates superior reduction in Melasma Area Severity Index scores compared with monotherapy. Non-hydroquinone agents such as tranexamic acid, azelaic acid, niacinamide, cysteamine, and thiamidol show comparable efficacy with improved tolerability. Common adverse effects include erythema and irritation, with rare ochronosis linked to prolonged hydroquinone use. In conclusion, individualized multimodal strategies with strict photoprotection are essential for effective and sustained melasma control.
