Mixed marriages between Indonesian citizens (WNI) and foreign nationals (WNA) often give rise to legal issues, particularly in divorce cases involving the division of marital property. A key challenge arises from the restriction on land ownership for foreign nationals under the Basic Agrarian Law. This study examines Decision Number 146/Pdt.G/2021/PA.Dps, in which an Indonesian wife was accused of extortion against her foreign husband in the context of a mixed marriage divorce. Using a normative juridical method and a descriptive-analytical approach, the study finds that the wife’s act of withholding her husband’s documents does not constitute extortion, but rather a form of self-protection due to the husband's failure to provide financial support. The findings emphasize that the division of marital assets in mixed marriages must consider the provisions of the Marriage Law, the Compilation of Islamic Law for Muslim couples, and the Basic Agrarian Law, especially regarding land ownership by foreign nationals. Therefore, resolving property disputes in mixed marriages requires a careful legal approach to ensure compliance with applicable laws.

This article discusses the meaning of marriage as a holy covenant from the perspective of the New Testament, particularly for Christian couples who have not been blessed with children. This study employs a qualitative method through literature review of the Bible, theological books, and relevant scientific sources. The findings show that, in Christian teaching, the value of marriage is not solely determined by the presence of children, but rather by unity, love, and commitment centered on Christ. Marriage is seen as a reflection of the relationship between Christ and His church, requiring faithfulness and perseverance in facing life’s challenges, including the struggle of childlessness. New Testament theological principles provide comfort and strength for couples to remain faithful in marriage, and emphasize the importance of building a family that reflects God’s love and truth, regardless of having children.

The Influence of Dry Bulk Cargo Discharge Activities on the Occurrence of Short Cargo at PT. Terminal Trluk Lamong Dry bulk unloading activities using grab ship unloaders (GSU) and conveyors often result in an unloading process that differs from the specified loading plan, resulting in a quantity of dry bulk cargo that is lower than stated in the document, known as short cargo. This research uses an associative quantitative method to determine the relationship between loading duration (X1), cargo volume (X2), and short cargo (Y), as well as the simultaneous influence of each factor on short cargo. Multiple linear regression data analysis techniques are used to test the hypothesis, and the data are processed using the SPSS version 27 program. The results showed that unloading duration and cargo volume have a significant, though partial, effect on short cargo. They have an influence of 176.5% and 0.6%, respectively. The variables of loading duration and cargo volume cause short cargo to occur simultaneously. Thus, each factor has an 85.2% simultaneous influence on short cargo, while the remaining 14.8% is influenced by factors outside the scope of the study.

This research examines the legal status of nominee agreements within Indonesia's civil law system and their legal consequences for the parties involved. Amid increasing foreign investment in Indonesia, the phenomenon of nominee agreements has created tension between global economic interests and the principle of nationalism in land ownership. Using normative legal research methods with statutory and conceptual approaches, this research analyzes nominee agreements within the framework of the Indonesian Civil Code and the Basic Agrarian Law. The findings reveal that nominee agreements have no valid legal status as they contradict Articles 21 and 26 paragraph (2) of the Basic Agrarian Law and fail to fulfill the lawful cause requirement under Article 1320 of the Civil Code. Doctrinally, these agreements fall under the category of absolute nullity (void ab initio) as they constitute a form of legal circumvention (fraus legis). The legal consequences for all parties are detrimental, Indonesian citizens acting as nominees potentially face criminal charges and loss of land rights, while foreign citizens as beneficial owners have no legal protection for their investments.

Automatic Identification System (AIS) is a communication technology that plays an important role in improving operational safety and efficiency in the shipping industry. AIS allows ships to exchange real-time data on identity, position, speed, and direction, which helps prevent collisions and facilitates maritime traffic management by port authorities. In addition, AIS functions in search and rescue operations by providing accurate information on the location of ships in trouble. In terms of security, AIS allows monitoring of suspicious ships, thus helping in preventing illegal activities in the waters. This study aims to design and develop a prototype AIS receiver based on LoRa, Arduino, and LCD HMI. The LoRa module was chosen because of its ability to transmit data over long distances with low power consumption, which is suitable for the maritime environment. Arduino is used as the main microcontroller to control the system, while the LCD HMI serves as the display interface for the received data. After the hardware and software design was completed, the system was tested through functional testing and performance measurements using a spectrum analyzer to evaluate the strength of the LoRa signal at various distances. The test results show that the AIS receiver is able to receive data well up to 15 meters on land and 13 meters at sea, with a delay of 100 milliseconds. System performance degrades at longer distances due to environmental interference and signal attenuation. These findings provide insight into the effective limits of LoRa communication in maritime applications and can be used as a reference for frequency testing and optimization of LoRa-based long-range communication systems.

Marriage is a sacred vocation that signifies a profound commitment between husband and wife, rooted in love and faith. Many couples, however, lack the emotional and mental readiness to navigate marital challenges. This study examines the impact of Pre-Marriage Catechesis (KPP) on the emotional and mental readiness of Catholic couples in the Holy Spirit Cathedral Parish, Denpasar. Using a pretest- posttest experimental design, data were collected from 89 participants (44 males, 45 females) in November 2024, utilizing the Sukoon Marriage Readiness Scale. Before KPP, participants were categorized as "Highly Ready for Marriage" (20%, 18 individuals), "Moderately Ready" (50%, 45 individuals), and "Not Ready" (30%, 26 individuals). After completing KPP, the "Highly Ready" group increased to 65% (58 individuals), "Moderately Ready" remained at 30% (27 individuals), and "Not Ready" decreased to 5% (4 individuals). Pearson correlation analysis showed a strong relationship between KPP and readiness (r = 0.842, p = 0.000). Gender had no significant effect (p > 0.05), indicating KPP's universal applicability. The study concludes that KPP significantly enhances couples' readiness for marriage, contributing 98.7% to their emotional and mental preparedness. Recommendations include adapting KPP modules to address modern couples’ needs and increase program efficacy.
