Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a chronic metabolic disorder whose prevalence continues to rise, making it a major challenge for health systems worldwide. This disease results from a combination of insulin resistance and impaired pancreatic β-cell function, leading to persistent hyperglycemia and increased risk of long-term complications affecting the kidneys, cardiovascular system, nervous system, and eyes. This report describes the case of a 52-year-old woman diagnosed with T2DM for approximately ten years. The patient presented with fatigue, nocturnal polyuria, nausea after meals, significant weight loss, and tingling in her extremities. Laboratory findings revealed an HbA1c level of 12%, reflecting very poor glycemic control. A family medicine approach was applied through detailed history taking, physical and laboratory examinations, home visits, and completion of a family folder to assess clinical, personal, social, and functional aspects. Interventions included counseling on balanced diet, encouragement of regular physical activity, education on diabetic foot care, and pharmacological treatment with metformin and insulin. The family received counseling about hereditary risk factors, the importance of emotional support, and the need for consistent monitoring of health status. The patient was still capable of light daily activities, supported by a highly functional family environment with an APGAR score of 10. A holistic family medicine–based approach was shown to improve treatment adherence, patient knowledge, and overall quality of life. Therefore, management of T2DM requires a comprehensive strategy that integrates promotive, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative components, emphasizing the active involvement of family and community at the primary care level to reduce complications, slow disease progression, and enhance patient well-being.   Keywords: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a chronic metabolic disorder whose prevalence continues to rise, making it a major challenge for health systems worldwide. Vitamin A Deficiency (VAD) and iron deficiency anemia (IDA) are global nutritional issues affecting children, particularly in developing countries. The interaction between these two conditions can lead to a more complex condition known as Vitamin A Deficiency Anemia (VADA). This study aims to review the molecular relationship between Vitamin A deficiency and iron metabolism leading to VADA, as well as its impact on children's health. The methodology used in this article is a literature review of various clinical studies, epidemiological research, and relevant molecular experiments. The results show that VADA is primarily a functional iron deficiency, where iron absorption is impaired despite overall body iron levels not being critically low. This mechanism involves the regulation of hepcidin, redistribution of iron, and its effects on erythropoiesis. Additionally, therapy with Vitamin A supplementation has been shown to increase erythropoietin and hemoglobin production in children with dual deficiencies. The implications of these findings highlight the need for more integrated therapeutic strategies that consider both Vitamin A and iron status simultaneously. Further research is needed to understand the molecular mechanisms more deeply involved in this interaction and to develop more effective therapies for children with VADA.

The development targets in the Health sector in the 2020–2024 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) place one of the main targets for maternal and child health is to reduce the incidence of children under five years old (toddlers) stunting (low height / short) by 30.8% (2018) to 19% in 2024. Optimal Health Status must be prepared since a woman before marriage. Then continued when the woman is pregnant, and while breastfeeding. Childhood is the foundation for growth and development in the next stage, if there are nutritional problems then the consequences that arise are permanent. The risk of stunting by 7x can occur in women 15-49 years who experience anemia and when they become pregnant will be at risk of giving birth to stunted babies. In women of childbearing age aged 15-49 years is the foundation for growth and development in the next stage, if during this period women experience nutritional problems then the consequences that arise can be permanent or irreversible. Its essence is a critical period when a system is plastic and sensitive to its environment, followed by a permanent loss of plasticity and functional capacity (Ummi Kalsum et al., 2021). Before education was provided, most adolescents showed a low level of understanding, namely 31 respondents (56.7%), and awareness of the importance of monitoring nutritional status during adolescence was also minimal. However, after interactive counseling with an easy-to-understand approach, there was a significant increase in knowledge, with 41 respondents (68.3%) showing an increase in understanding, reflected in a change in the knowledge category to a better level. This activity emphasizes the importance of promotive and preventive interventions in areas at high risk of nutritional problems. The implementation of direct and participatory education involving cadres and health workers has proven effective in increasing awareness and forming healthy lifestyle behaviors in adolescents. Therefore, similar education programs need to be implemented continuously to reduce anemia rates to prevent stunting and prevent stunting from adolescence.

Stunting remains one of the major nutritional problems in Indonesia. According to the 2024 Indonesian Health Survey (SKI), the prevalence of stunting in Papua Province reached 16.8%. A child’s nutritional status is strongly influenced by dietary intake, particularly protein, which plays a crucial role in growth. One potential source of animal protein is Indian mackerel (Rastrelliger kanagurta), a type of fish commonly found in Papua. Indian mackerel is rich in protein and omega-3 fatty acids but is highly perishable, limiting its shelf life. To address this issue, the fish is processed into flour. Additionally, green spinach is used as a source of fiber and minerals, although it is also prone to spoilage. The spinach is processed by extracting its juice, which is then incorporated into noodle products. Dried noodles were chosen as a medium for fortification because they are widely consumed across age groups and often used as a substitute for rice. This study aimed to determine the effect of adding Indian mackerel flour and green spinach extract on the chemical properties and sensory acceptance of dried noodles. The research methods included nutritional content analysis and organoleptic testing. The sensory evaluation was conducted by 25 semi-trained panelists who were nutrition science students

This research examines Bogor Palace as an architectural text that represents a fusion of European and tropical styles through a semiotic approach. Bogor Palace is not only a symbol of Dutch colonial power but also reflects the adaptation of Indonesian culture and tropical environment. This research aims to reveal the meanings and symbols contained in the architectural elements of Bogor Palace, such as symmetrical facades, tall pillars, large windows, cross ventilation, and steep roofs. Using semiotic methods, this research analyzes how these elements function as signs that represent aesthetic, historical and ecological values. The results show that the European architectural style of Bogor Palace, reflected through classical structures such as pillars and decorative ornaments, symbolizes the status of power and the influence of colonial culture. On the other hand, tropical elements such as cross ventilation, spacious terraces, and steep roofs represent adaptation to local environmental conditions, while symbolizing harmony between humans and nature. The symbolism in this design not only serves to fulfill functional needs, but also creates a visual narrative that reflects the dialog between foreign and local cultures. The study concludes that Bogor Palace is an artifact rich in semiotic meaning, where each architectural element contains messages about history, culture and ecological adaptation. This research contributes to the study of colonial architecture, particularly in understanding how historic buildings can be interpreted as sign systems that represent cultural and environmental complexities.

This study is motivated by the status of Surah Yusuf as ahsanul qashash, which has special characteristics in terms of balagah, particularly the use of kinayah to convey sensitive narratives in a polite manner. This study aims to identify the classification of types of kinayah and reveal the pragmatic functions behind their use in the text. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with heuristic-semiotic analysis techniques, where the primary data is sourced directly from the verses of the Qur'an. Surah Yusuf predominantly uses kinayah 'an al-maushuf to refer to certain entities or positions in order to maintain the dignity of the narrative, in addition to the use of kinayah shifah and nisbah to describe the emotional turmoil of the characters. Functionally, this style of language plays the role of ihtiraz (preventive), mubalaghah (emphasis of meaning), and ta'dzim (respect). The implications of this study confirm that the use of kinayah is not merely linguistic aesthetics, but a medium of moral education that promotes polite interpersonal communication and is relevant to contemporary Islamic ethics.

Previously, germination was reported in many studies that could improve the nutritional status and bioactive compounds in brown rice. However, the change of those functional properties was randomly different in diverse varieties. This study aimed to evaluate the change in chemical composition and functional properties of germinated brown rice from the Mentikwangi variety, one of the local paddy rice in Indonesia. Brown rice was germinated using the soaked and aeration method for 48 h. After that, the proximate compositions were analyzed including the change of total phenolic compounds and radical scavenging activity. We observed that germination in Mentikwangi brown rice significantly increased the crude protein content, but reduced the lipid and total carbohydrate contents. Moreover, the antioxidant activity was improved in germinated Mentikwangi brown rice sample due to the improvement of total phenolic compounds. These results affirm the previous studies which concluded that germination attenuated the functional properties of brown rice, so that has the potential to be developed as a future functional food.

Insulin and glucagon, hormones secreted by the pancreas, regulate blood glucose, the main source of energy for cells. Insulin facilitates glucose uptake and glycogen synthesis, whereas glucagon increases blood glucose by stimulating glycogenolysis and gluconeogenesis in the fasting state. An increase in blood glucose above normal over a long period of time can cause diabetes mellitus. The prevalence of type 2 diabetes among the elderly in Indonesia is 6.2%, with a projected increase to 12 million cases by 2030. The causes include genetic factors, aging, unhealthy eating patterns, a lack of movement, and comorbidities such as obesity and hypertension. This activity uses the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Action) method, which aims to carry out blood glucose checks as an early detection of type 2 diabetes mellitus. The Hana Nursing Home in South Tangerang hosted this activity, which involved 61 participants. The results of the blood glucose examination showed that 15 people (24.58%) had diabetes and 33 people (54.1%) had pre-diabetes. From the design results, several types of plate thicknesses are obtained according to the workloads that must be accommodated on it. the following are the moments acting on the floor & dag plates. reinforcement calculations are carried out using the capacity design method (capacity strength design) in accordance with SNI 2847-2019. The concept of capacity design in question is to control the formation of plastic joints at predetermined locations. The SAP2000 program can directly calculate the feasibility of structural dimensions and the required reinforcement area from the results of the input program process. In the SAP2000 program, the concrete regulations used are concrete regulations in the United States ACI-318-05/IBC 2003 which in some ways differ from concrete regulations in Indonesia SNI 2847-20219. It is necessary to make adjustments to the regulations that apply in Indonesia. The internal force from the SAP2000 program is selected from the loading combination that produces the field moment and the fulcrum moment at the maximum column face plane. The bending reinforcement and shear reinforcement of the beam can be read directly from the output of the SAP2000 program in the form of information on the required reinforcement area.
