The rupiah plays a vital role as a symbol of national identity and sovereignty, but awareness among rural communities about its function and importance is often limited. In Kutalimbaru Village, the main challenges identified are low monetary literacy, which results in physical damage to money and a lack of awareness about counterfeit money. Through the Real Work Lecture (KKN) program, community service efforts were carried out with the aim of internalizing the values of “Love, Pride, Understanding (CBP) of the Rupiah.” The approach used was community-based education through interactive workshops and practical demonstrations on money care techniques and an introduction to the security features of the Rupiah. Findings in the field show a transformation in the community's attitude; from being indifferent to being more careful in handling paper money and better understanding the role of the Rupiah in economic stability. This program has succeeded in increasing the financial literacy of citizens while strengthening the spirit of nationalism through appreciation of the national currency. Keywords: community empowerment, micro businesses, tempeh products, entrepreneurship, Sialaman Village.

Reflection : Islamic Education Journal 2026 Asosiasi Riset Ilmu Pendidikan Agama dan Filsafat Indonesia

This study aims to examine the development of Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia from the classical to the modern era, as well as the factors influencing their transformation and strategies for strengthening them to remain relevant to contemporary needs without abandoning Islamic values. The research method used is a literature review (library research) by analyzing books, scientific journals, and official documents related to Islamic education, both nationally and internationally, published within the last five years. The findings indicate that Islamic education evolved from informal learning through majelis taklim, surau, and langgar, to the establishment of pesantren, madrasahs, and modern Islamic higher education institutions that integrate religious and general knowledge. The transformation of these institutions is influenced by local cultural factors, international scholarly networks, political pressures and colonialism, reformist figures, globalization, economic demands, social mobility, and national education policies. In the era of globalization and the Fourth Industrial Revolution, Islamic educational institutions face challenges such as technological access disparities, limited teacher competence in digital pedagogy, curriculum integration, and the risk of educational commodification. Strengthening strategies include developing integrative curricula, professionalizing teachers, utilizing digital technology, promoting media literacy based on Islamic values, developing entrepreneurship, revitalizing traditional knowledge, and enhancing alumni networks and visionary leadership. This study emphasizes that the synergy among pesantren, madrasahs, and Islamic higher education institutions forms a national Islamic education ecosystem that is adaptive, rooted in spiritual values, and capable of producing Muslim generations who are morally upright, knowledgeable, and globally competitive.

Donorojo Village, Pacitan Regency, East Java, has significant agricultural potential, particularly in spice commodities. However, the utilization of spices by local farmers remains limited to the sale of raw materials in traditional markets at relatively low prices and with restricted market reach. In fact, spices have high economic value and strong potential to be developed into value-added products, such as herbal beverages. This community service activity aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of the PKK women’s group in Donorojo Village in processing spice-based “biofarmaka” as an effort to empower the local economy and strengthen the spice value chain. The methods employed included lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on practice, conducted over five days at the Donorojo Village Hall and involving 20 participants. The products generated from this activity included “jahe gajah beverage”, “instan jahe merah”, “instan beras kencur”, and “instan kunir asem”. The results indicated an improvement in participants  understanding of the health benefits of spices, hygienic processing stages, and their ability to produce instant herbal beverage products. Furthermore, this activity has the potential to strengthen linkages between spice farmers as raw material suppliers and the PKK group as processing actors. The development of spice-based “biofarmaka” provides economic value addition, expands market opportunities, and encourages the growth of rural entrepreneurship. Therefore, spice-based “biofarmaka” processing training can serve as a strategy for rural agro-industry development that supports the improvement of economic stability in Donorojo Village.

This study addresses low student engagement and high levels of boredom in entrepreneurship courses that rely heavily on one-way PowerPoint-based lectures. Preliminary observations in-dicated that 80% of students experienced low motivation and difficulty generating innovative business ideas. The purpose of this research was to examine the effect of gamification on student learning motivation and business creativity.A quantitative approach was employed using a pre-experimental (One-Group Pretest–Posttest design). The sample consisted of 25 students selected through total sampling. Gamification elements, including: points, badges, and leaderboards, were integrated into the learning process to replace conventional lecture methods. The findings indicate that the implementation of gamification significantly trans-formed student learning behavior and classroom dynamics. Students shifted from passive disengagement, characterized by limited interaction and high distraction levels, to proactive participation. Verbal interactions increased substantially, moving beyond administrative ques-tions toward meaningful business discussions. Students demonstrated heightened engagement and responsiveness during learning activities. The gamified learning environment also fostered a safe space for creative experimentation, enabling students to take entrepreneurial risks without fear of academic or financial failure. Improvements were observed across key di-mensions of business creativity, including fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. The study concludes that gamification is an effective pedagogical strategy for enhancing student motivation and business creativity in entrepreneurship education. By transforming learning from a passive knowledge-transfer model into an experiential and interactive process, gami-fication supports the development of an entrepreneurial mindset among digital native students.

Both factors have a significant impact simultaneously, as indicated by the calculated F value of 58.933. Furthermore, based on the analysis of the coefficient of determination (R Square), these two variables contribute 65.9% of entrepreneurial interest, while other factors influence the remaining 34.1%. This conclusion is important and can be a guide for future research on entrepreneurship teaching techniques.

The development of the digital era demands that youth possess practical and applicable information technology (IT) skills to enhance competitiveness in the workforce and entrepreneurship. However, the gap between theoretical knowledge and basic technical skills—such as computer assembly, installation, and troubleshooting—remains a real challenge among youth, particularly in community settings such as the Patitech Academy in Pati Regency. The training program was implemented using experiential learning methods and a participatory approach over three days. A total of 25 participants engaged in a series of activities, including socialization, technical training, intensive mentoring, and evaluation. Measurement instruments included written pre- and post-tests, practical performance observation, and satisfaction questionnaires. Data analysis showed a significant improvement in participant competencies. The average post-test score increased by 40.2% compared to the pre-test, with 85% of participants demonstrating mastery in assembling computers, installing operating systems, and performing basic troubleshooting independently. The troubleshooting aspect recorded the highest increase (45%). The success of the program was supported by direct learning methods, an ideal participant-instructor ratio, and a curriculum relevant to industry needs. Hands-on training proved effective in significantly improving youth technical IT competencies. The program not only built hard skills but also increased participants' self-confidence and independence. For sustainability, it is recommended to develop advanced modules, strengthen industry networking, and establish a digital alumni forum. The findings of this study can serve as a model for developing youth empowerment programs based on digital skills in other communities.
