Malnutrition significantly disrupts metabolic processes like fasting blood glucose (FBG) regulation, insulin secretion, and insulin resistance (HOMA-IR), especially among the elderly. Aging amplifies these effects through declining β-cell function, reduced insulin sensitivity, and chronic inflammation, increasing the risk of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. Globally, malnutrition affects 22% of the elderly, with prevalence reaching 28% in Indonesia due to food insecurity, limited healthcare access, and poor nutrition education. Malnutrition exacerbates glucose-insulin imbalances by causing muscle loss, increasing FBG levels, and inducing insulin resistance through chronic inflammation. Despite its impact, critical knowledge gaps remain, particularly in low- and middle-income countries like Indonesia. This study investigates how malnutrition affects FBG, insulin levels, and HOMA-IR in elderly individuals, focusing on mechanisms like inflammation and muscle loss to inform targeted interventions and improve metabolic health in resource-limited settings. This cross-sectional study evaluated fasting blood glucose, insulin, and HOMA-IR among 31 elderly participants at Panti Werdha Santa Anna. The study found no significant differences in fasting blood glucose, fasting insulin, HOMA-IR, or HbA1c levels across Mini Nutritional Assessment categories (normal, at risk, malnourished; p > 0.05). These results suggest no strong association between nutritional status and metabolic parameters, highlighting the need for further research with larger samples. This study finds no significant association between nutritional status and glycemic control in the elderly, suggesting malnutrition's indirect impact via mechanisms like inflammation and muscle loss. Comprehensive nutritional assessments remain essential to understanding its effects on metabolic health.

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is transmitted through the bites of Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes. Efforts that can be made to reduce the incidence of dengue fever are through the 3M plus movements (draining, burying and covering) and carrying out preventive activities such as sprinkling larvicide powder, using mosquito repellent, and planting mosquito repellent plants. The aim of this community service is to increase public knowledge about recognizing and preventing dengue fever as an effort to prevent and control the disease. The activities were carried out at Padukuhan Nologaten, Caturtunggal Village, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Province in May-June 2024. The activities carried out include situation analysis, preparation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and analysis and reporting. The participants of this activity numbered 37 people with the majority aged 46-65 years (48%) and college education background (48%). The average level of community knowledge about the prevention and control of dengue fever before counseling (pre-test) was good (89%) and sufficient (11%) and after counseling, the level of community knowledge increased to good (95%).

This can exacerbate the stressful conditions that are being experienced. To find out the description of the knowledge of class XII adolescents in coping with academic stress at SMAN 1 Cawas. This type of quantitative research with a descriptive research design, using a cross-sectional study approach. The sample of this research was 197 students of class XII at SMAN 1 Cawas with a sampling technique, namely proportional stratified random sampling. The data collection instrument used was a coping mechanism knowledge questionnaire. Research data were analyzed using frequency. The results showed that most respondents were 17 years old (58.9%) with 98 respondents (49.7%) who were male and 99 respondents (50.3%) who were female. The results of the univariate analysis showed that as many as 99 respondents (50.3%) had a sufficient level of knowledge in coping with academic stress. It is known that most adolescents have sufficient category of knowledge by knowing some of the constructive coping mechanisms and some of the destructive coping mechanisms.

This article discusses the implementation of FPCI Goes to School (FGTS) 4.0, an educational outreach initiative conducted by the Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia (FPCI) Chapter UPN Veteran Jakarta, with the objective of increasing students’ awareness and understanding of international political dynamics. The initiative addresses the growing need for public literacy on global issues that often have indirect but significant effects on national and local communities, such as trade disruptions and inflation caused by geopolitical conflicts. Using the Russia-Ukraine war as the primary case study, this activity sought to explore how international events influence domestic realities, including the rising cost of grain-based products and the spread of digital propaganda. The program was held at Muhammadiyah 2 Senior High School Jakarta and employed a participatory method involving socialization sessions, group discussions, and pre-test and post-tests evaluations to measure knowledge gain and critical thinking. Findings show that students demonstrated a strong grasp of basic geopolitical knowledge (+90% correct identification) and high level of awareness regarding digital security practices (+95% relevant answers). Slightly lower comprehension was observed in questions requiring simple analytical reasoning about international politics. This activity concludes that early exposure to international political education, delivered through targeted civic engagement programs, is promising to cultivate for a more globally-aware and resilient future citizens.

The national curriculum is designed to support the development of students' character education. This is reflected in the integration between subjects and educational levels, as well as attention to the three main domains: attitude (affective), knowledge (cognitive), and skills (psychomotor). The main goal of this curriculum is to shape Indonesian individuals who are faithful, capable of living independently and socially, and who are productive, creative, innovative, and of noble character. The curriculum also encourages students to contribute actively to social life, the nation, and global civilization. Character values are instilled through the development of two main attitudes: spiritual attitude, which refers to practicing one's religious beliefs, and social attitude, which includes honesty, discipline, responsibility, politeness, environmental awareness, and self-confidence in interacting with others.

Islamic preaching (dakwah) employs various methods of communication, one of which is through written works. This study examines the preaching strategies found in Islamic written works through a case study of the author of the Nidzomi method, a method designed to facilitate madrasa students in learning religious sciences such as Tajwid, Fiqh, Nahwu, and Shorof. This research employs a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the author, content analysis of the published books, and observations of how this method is received among students and educators. The findings indicate that the Nidzomi method has a unique appeal by combining the literary element of nadhom with a structured and easily memorizable learning system. Additionally, the preaching strategy through written works has successfully reached a broader audience, not only within madrasas but also on social media, where the method has gained wider recognition. This study affirms that Islamic preaching through written works is not merely a means of conveying knowledge but also an integral part of a more inclusive religious literacy strategy. The Nidzomi method has proven effective in helping students better understand Islamic subjects. However, challenges remain in its dissemination, particularly in adapting to different educational levels and ensuring accessibility beyond the pesantren environment. Therefore, this study recommends enhancing the promotion and digitalization of the Nidzomi method to make it more accessible to the younger generation in the digital era.

When someone enters old age, symptoms such as senility or difficulty remembering new information often appear. This condition is known as dementia, a syndrome characterized by decreased cognitive function, behavioral changes, memory impairment, disorientation, and difficulty communicating and making decisions. This community service program aims to provide information and understanding about how to handle dementia that can be done at home. Activities are carried out through a counseling method consisting of a pre-test, education, and post-test, using leaflets and questionnaires containing questions to measure the level of understanding of participants. The results of the counseling showed an increase in participant knowledge, as seen from the comparison of the graph between the pre-test and post-test results. Education accompanied by brain gymnastics practices has been shown to have a positive impact on increasing participants' understanding of dementia and how to handle it. It is hoped that this counseling will continue to provide benefits to participants and can be applied in everyday life.
