Food waste is a global issue that continues to be discussed. This is because the problem of food waste can have an impact on the environment, health and climate. Through the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) initiative, creating a sustainable community through food waste management is made a top priority. This article discusses the implementation of the Zero Food Waste program at SDN Ekologi Kahuripan Padjajaran using the Black Soldier Fly (BSF) maggot bioconversion approach. This community service was carried out by P3K UPI Purwakarta students who collaborated with TPS 3R Ciseureuh Purwakarta to manage food waste. This service activity is carried out through several stages which include preparation, implementation and evaluation, involving students and their parents in managing organic waste. The results of bioconversion are maggots and organic fertilizer which will be used into products with economic value. This program has succeeded in increasing environmental awareness, reducing food waste, and can create sustainable solutions in managing organic waste. It is hoped that this article can make recommendations for implementing similar methods in other areas as an environmentally friendly waste management model.

Indonesia is committed to achieving zero hunger as one of the goals of fulfilling the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) where this commitment focuses on addressing the problem of food availability but also ensuring that every individual has access to sufficient, nutritious, and safe food throughout the year for everyone. However, reviewing the current conditions in Indonesia, there is still an imbalance in food availability that will cause food vulnerability. Therefore, a prediction of food vulnerability in the future is needed where discriminant analysis is one of the appropriate statistical methods to analyze qualitative dependent and quantitative independent variables. This study uses secondary data from the official website of the food agency and the central statistics agency. The results of the study show that the characteristics of the data have small variations, asymmetric distribution, and there are outliers in several categories. The assumptions of multivariate normality, the suitability of the dependent variables, and the identity of the variance-covariance matrix have been met. Through discriminant analysis, the variables of the percentage of poverty and the percentage of households with access to clean drinking water are proven to significantly affect the IKP category. The discriminant model produces one significant function that is able to group the IKP category with a model accuracy rate of 86.8% and a classification accuracy of 64.7%.

This study examines the relationship between Green Human Resource Management (Green HRM), Pro-Environmental Behavior (PEB), and Employee Performance in the hospitality industry. Using data collected from 265 employees across 12 star-rated hotels in Semarang that have implemented green hotel practices, this research employs Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to test the proposed hypotheses. The findings reveal that Green HRM positively influences both PEB (β = 0.627) and Employee Performance (β = 0.341). Furthermore, PEB positively affects Employee Performance (β = 0.396) and partially mediates the relationship between Green HRM and Employee Performance. Demographic factors, including age, education level, and tenure, moderate several relationship paths, suggest the importance of a differentiated approach in Green HRM implementation. Among Green HRM dimensions, Training and Development and Employee Involvement have the strongest effect on PEB, while Performance Management and Reward Systems most directly influence Employee Performance. These results provide empirical evidence that integrating environmental sustainability into HR practices benefits not only environmental outcomes but also enhances employee performance, creating a win-win situation for hotels in their pursuit of competitive advantage while meeting environmental responsibilities.

This study investigates the impact of Islamic education on promoting environmental awareness and sustainable economic behavior among youth. As environmental issues continue to pose significant global challenges, fostering eco-conscious behavior among the younger generation is essential for ensuring long-term sustainability. Islamic education, with its emphasis on ethical responsibility, stewardship, and accountability as outlined in the Quran and Hadith, provides a unique framework for shaping pro-environmental attitudes and behaviors. This experimental study compares two groups of students: the treatment group exposed to green-Islamic content and the control group receiving general civic education. The research measures students' environmental awareness, knowledge of sustainability, and behavior before and after the intervention, using pre-test and post-test questionnaires, as well as qualitative interviews. The results indicate that the treatment group exhibited a significantly greater improvement in environmental awareness and sustainable behavior compared to the control group. These findings suggest that Islamic education, by integrating religious and ethical principles into environmental education, can effectively encourage sustainable behaviors such as resource conservation, waste management, and ethical consumption. The study highlights the importance of incorporating Islamic values into educational curricula as a means to foster a more environmentally responsible generation. Additionally, the research emphasizes the need for further studies to explore the long-term effects of eco-conscious Islamic education across different cultural and educational contexts. The results of this study contribute to the growing body of knowledge on the role of religious education in addressing global environmental challenges and promoting sustainable development.

This study investigates the role of Islamic social finance in supporting green economy development across Muslim-majority countries. Islamic social finance instruments, including zakat, waqf, and sadaqah, are designed to redistribute wealth ethically and address social inequalities, while also offering potential for financing environmentally sustainable projects. Using a quantitative research design and econometric modeling with panel data, the study analyzes the impact of these instruments on environmental performance indicators such as the Green Economy Index (GEI) and Environmental Performance Index (EPI). Secondary data are collected from international sources including the OIC Statistical Database, the World Bank, and the Islamic Development Bank, covering selected countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Pakistan, and Egypt. The analysis includes independent variables representing zakat distribution, waqf assets, and sadaqah volume, with control variables including GDP per capita, governance indicators, and population growth. Descriptive statistics reveal substantial variation in Islamic social finance and environmental performance across countries, indicating the importance of institutional governance and policy integration. Econometric results demonstrate a positive correlation between zakat and waqf development and environmental performance, while sadaqah contributes positively but to a lesser extent. These findings suggest that Islamic social finance can directly support environmental projects, including renewable energy initiatives, sustainable agriculture, and green infrastructure, complementing conventional fiscal tools. The study highlights the advantages of Islamic social finance in promoting justice, sustainability, and ethical allocation of resources, and it emphasizes the need to integrate green objectives into zakat and waqf operational frameworks. Policy recommendations include mainstreaming Islamic social finance into national green policies, enhancing governance and transparency, and encouraging cross-sector collaboration between financial institutions and environmental agencies. Future research is suggested to explore micro-level impacts on household and community environmental behaviors and to conduct comparative studies across regions. Overall, the study underscores the potential of Islamic social finance as a faith-driven, socially inclusive, and environmentally sustainable mechanism for supporting long-term green economic development.

This study aims to analyze the role of local governments in the implementation of sustainable development policies in urban areas. Using a qualitative approach through case study methods, data were collected via in-depth interviews with local government officials, focus group discussions with community members, and analysis of policy documents and local development reports. The findings indicate that local governments play a vital role in creating positive impacts on the environment and the quality of life for residents through various implemented programs, such as integrated waste management systems, the development of green open spaces, and sustainable transportation policies. Despite significant progress, this research also identifies challenges faced by local governments, including funding limitations, a lack of community education, and the need for improved inter-agency coordination. To enhance their effectiveness in achieving sustainable development goals, local governments must address these challenges through increased budget allocations, educational campaigns to raise community awareness, and strengthened collaboration among agencies. By taking these steps, local governments can be more effective in realizing sustainable development and ensuring a better quality of life for urban residents. This research provides important insights for policymakers and practitioners in their efforts to create sustainable and responsive urban communities.
