This article aims to provide theoretical and practical insights into conflict management to support leaders and managers in managing conflict effectively in various contexts and provide a comprehensive understanding of conflict management through a literature review of the sources, symptoms, and causes of conflict. Conflict that occurs in an organization can hinder the achievement of desired goals, therefore conflict needs to be managed properly so that its impact can be minimized, organizational conflict can also be interpreted as a conflict that arises when the goal-oriented behavior of one group conflicts with or is threatened by the goals of another group. This study uses a literature study method to analyze various concepts of conflict management that have been put forward by experts. The results of the study show that conflict, whether in a positive, negative, or neutral sense, is an unavoidable phenomenon. The source of conflict can come from various factors that trigger differences and clashes between individuals, groups, or organizations. Conflict also occurs due to misunderstandings or incompatibilities between individuals or groups in an effort to achieve their goals, this is often referred to as a causal factor. The impact of conflict actually depends on its nature. On the one hand, well-managed conflict can improve the quality of decisions, encourage active involvement in discussions, and strengthen group cohesion. However, on the other hand, conflict can also drain members' energy, disrupt productivity, and cause hostility that hinders collaboration. Abstract and Keywords must be written in English, in italic style, and contain a brief description of the research background, objectives, methods, findings, and implications. The abstract is written in one paragraph with a single space (maximum 200 words), without any reference or formula.

Language in the digital era functions not only as a communication tool but also as a reflection of personal and collective identity. Language use on digital platforms, such as social media, reflects self-expression, image building, and cultural affiliation. However, globalization and the dominance of foreign languages, especially English, pose challenges to preserving local identity. This study employs a qualitative approach through interviews and document analysis to explore how language shapes personal identity in the digital era. The findings indicate that language in digital spaces allows individuals to express creativity while facing social pressures to construct specific images. Nonetheless, phenomena such as code-switching and slang usage highlight the influence of global culture. To maintain a balance between global adaptation and local cultural preservation, collaboration among individuals, communities, and governments is needed through education, cultural campaigns, and technology. With this approach, language can become a tool for fostering cultural solidarity and preserving diversity in an increasingly connected world.

This study aims to investigate the role of digital literacy in helping students assess the validity of skincare product advertisement claims, particularly exaggerated or hyperbolic claims often found in beauty product advertisements on social media. Using a qualitative approach with a cross-sectional survey design, this study involved 30 students of the English Literature Study Program at Medan State University as respondents who had basic knowledge of digital literacy and familiarity with skincare product advertisements. Data were collected through an online survey using a Likert scale to measure students' perceptions of advertising claims and the influence of digital literacy in evaluating those claims. The results showed that the majority of respondents had the ability to distinguish between valid and invalid claims thanks to their digital literacy. In addition, most students use the internet as the main source to verify advertising claims. However, there are still a small number of students who have not utilized digital literacy optimally. Overall, this study confirms the importance of digital literacy in helping students develop a critical attitude towards advertisements and can play a role in encouraging them to become smarter consumers who are skeptical of unrealistic claims in beauty product advertisements.

The results revealed that 78% of students had positive perceptions, indicating that the platforms facilitated their English-speaking practice through real-time communication. However, they also reported technical issues, such as poor internet connectivity, and challenges with engagement, including difficulty finding consistent conversation partners. The low awareness and motivation of students (santri) at the Miftahul Huda Islamic boarding school to pursue higher education abroad is a primary issue, stemming from a lack of English proficiency, limited information, and conventional teaching methods. This Community Service (PkM) program aimed to enhance the santri's English language skills and motivation for further studies. The method involved three stages: preparation through surveys and interviews; implementation of a motivation seminar and interactive English training covering reading, listening, speaking, and writing; and evaluation using pre-tests, post-tests, and questionnaires. The program's content focused on addressing the key challenges faced by the santri, including language barriers and the lack of exposure to scholarship opportunities. The results demonstrated the program's significant effectiveness. There was an average 40% increase in English proficiency scores, with participants showing improved communication skills across all four language areas. Additionally, students' motivation to study abroad increased from 30% to 85%. This program successfully fostered the santri's interest in higher education opportunities abroad and built their self-confidence, evidenced by the formation of a proactive discussion group seeking scholarship information and further academic guidance.

The rapid growth of online English learning platforms has introduced new opportunities for language acquisition, yet maintaining student engagement and motivation remains a persistent challenge. Many learners experience reduced participation and limited knowledge retention in digital settings compared to traditional classroom environments. Addressing this issue, the present study investigates the effectiveness of gamified quizzes as a pedagogical strategy to enhance engagement, motivation, and retention among online English learners. A quasi-experimental design was employed with two groups: a control group that used a standard online platform and a treatment group that engaged with gamified quizzes incorporating points, badges, and leaderboards. Data on engagement were collected through participation frequency and time spent, while motivation was measured using pre- and post-intervention questionnaires, and retention was assessed through follow-up tests. Statistical analyses using independent-sample t-tests and ANOVA revealed significant differences between the two groups. The treatment group demonstrated higher engagement, stronger motivation, and improved retention outcomes compared to the control group. These results, supported by both tabular and graphical representations, highlight the pedagogical value of gamification in addressing motivational challenges and fostering meaningful learning. The study concludes that gamified quizzes serve not only as motivational tools but also as effective mechanisms to strengthen long-term knowledge retention in online English education. Implications for practice suggest that educators and digital learning designers should integrate gamification elements as a central feature of online platforms to optimize learner outcomes.
