Musical modality, professionalism, and work quality in everyday musical practice constitute the main analytical framework of this study. This research departs from the view that musical professions are often reduced to hobby-based activities, whereas in practice they involve work strategies, professional attitudes, and negotiation between artistic idealism and market demands. This study employs a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews with two musicians in the city of Solo, Aditya Ong and Indra Permana, who represent different backgrounds, professional roles, and musical orientations. The findings indicate that modality comprising experience, musical skills, and professional networks forms the foundation of musicians’ professionalism. Professionalism is reflected not only in technical competence, but also in work ethics, responsibility, and the ability to position oneself within various musical work contexts. Work quality is not understood normatively as good or bad, but as the outcome of how musicians manage their modality and professionalism in specific working situations. This study concludes that musical practice in Solo is shaped through continuous negotiation between artistic orientation, market demands, and the pursuit of livelihood stability. Musical modality, professionalism, and work quality are interconnected in forming musicians’ strategies to sustain their musical practices amid the dynamics of the local music industry.

This study analyzes the orientation of Islamic education graduates in Indonesia during the late New Order and early Reform periods (1990–2000). It departs from the contrast between the dominant state perspective, which viewed Islamic education as an instrument for political stability and national development, and a critical perspective that considers education as a space for liberation and social awareness. The research aims to describe the state policies on Islamic education during the New Order, examine the shifts in graduate orientation during the crisis and Reform transition, and explore institutional strengthening and intellectual development after 2000. This study employs a qualitative research design with an interpretive critical approach, grounded in Paulo Freire’s theory of critical consciousness and Antonio Gramsci’s concept of hegemony, applied to analyze policy documents, curricula, and Islamic education archives. The findings reveal that Islamic education under the New Order was directed toward producing bureaucratic and ideologically loyal graduates, while in the Reform era it shifted toward institutional autonomy and intellectual professionalism. The study concludes that the orientation of Islamic education graduates reflects the dynamic relationship between political power and the transformation of social consciousness. This research contributes to the study of Islamic education politics through a historical–critical and ideological analytical approach.

In the context of rapid educational transformation and increasing demands in English language teaching, teacher professional identity has become central to how teachers interpret experiences and sustain professional engagement. However, limited research has examined how such identities are co-constructed through the collaborative narratives. Addressing this gap, this study explores how Vietnamese Generation-Z English-as-a-Foreign-Language teachers construct and negotiate their professional identities through collaborative narrative interactions. Grounded in a post-structuralist perspective and informed by Positioning Theory, the study conceptualizes teacher identity as discursively produced and contextually negotiated through storytelling. Employing a collaborative trio-narrative inquiry design, data were generated through individual narrative interviews, group narrative conversations, and reflective journals with these three teachers. A theme-based narrative analysis, guided by Clandinin and Connelly’s three-dimensional framework and Positioning Theory, was systematically conducted. Findings revealed that participants’ identities developed through reflexive interpretations of past experiences, interactive negotiations in present teaching practices, and future-oriented projections of their possible selves. These identity (re)constructions were further embedded within a moral order characterized by personal affection, responsibility, and professional commitment. The study itself contributes to teacher identity research by foregrounding collaborative meaning-making and processes of self- and other-positioning. Pedagogical implications are offered for teacher education and continuing professional development, alongside acknowledged limitations and directions for future research.

Employee affective commitment is a critical factor for workforce retention and service quality in healthcare organizations, particularly among nurses who represent the largest professional group in hospitals. Kemayoran X Hospital has experienced persistently high nurse turnover rates, indicating potential deficiencies in affective commitment. This study aimed to examine the influence of perceived organizational support and organizational justice on nurses’ affective commitment, with work engagement serving as an intervening variable. A quantitative cross-sectional design was employed, involving 125 staff nurses at Kemayoran X Hospital selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using structured self-administered questionnaires distributed via Google Forms and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results demonstrated that perceived organizational support, organizational justice, and work engagement simultaneously exerted a significant effect on affective commitment. Furthermore, perceived organizational support and organizational justice showed significant positive effects on work engagement, which in turn significantly influenced affective commitment. Mediation analysis confirmed that work engagement partially mediated the relationships between perceived organizational support and affective commitment, as well as between organizational justice and affective commitment. These findings indicate that nurses who perceive fair treatment and strong organizational support are more likely to be engaged in their work and emotionally committed to their organization. In conclusion, strengthening organizational support systems, ensuring fairness in decision-making processes, and fostering work engagement are essential managerial strategies to enhance nurses’ affective commitment and reduce turnover in hospital settings.

This study analyzes media perceptions of the revocation of CNN Indonesia journalists' press identity cards by the State Palace in 2025, using the legal framework of Law Number 40 of 1999 concerning the Press. The main objective of the study is to examine the extent to which provisions in the Press Law function effectively in providing legal protection for journalists, as well as to identify potential restrictions on statements deemed inappropriate for public access by the Palace. The method used is qualitative with a descriptive-analytical approach, combining literature review, legal document analysis, and review of national media coverage. The research findings indicate that the revocation of Press IDs without going through the Press Council mechanism contradicts the principles of due process and press freedom guaranteed in the Press Law. This incident created a critical perception that the government has the potential to restrict journalists' freedom, especially regarding strategic state policy issues. Informal resolution through mediation and official apologies do not change the reality that the implementation of non-litigation mechanisms in the Press Law is crucial. This study concludes that the role of the Press Law in protecting the journalistic profession is highly dependent on the government's commitment to guaranteeing press freedom, information transparency, and strengthening the media as a pillar of democracy.

Prosiding Seminar Nasional Ilmu Ekonomi dan Akuntansi 2026 Asosiasi Riset Ekonomi dan Akuntansi Indonesia

This study aims to analyze the interrelationship between profitability, capital structure, firm size, and tax avoidance. It employs a descriptive analysis method combined with a literature review approach. The study draws upon various prior empirical studies indexed in Sinta 2 and Scopus Q2 from the period 2021–2024, as well as relevant secondary data sources. This approach is intended to provide a comprehensive understanding of the factors influencing firms’ propensity to engage in tax avoidance practices. The results of the literature review indicate that there is a relationship between firms’ tendency to engage in tax avoidance and profitability, capital structure, and firm size. Higher profitability leads to increased tax burdens, thereby encouraging management to implement tax planning strategies in an effort to reduce the tax liabilities that must be settled. Furthermore, firms with higher proportions of debt and equity tend to have greater flexibility in managing their financial policies, which may influence their tax strategies. In addition, larger firms typically possess greater resources and broader access to professional expertise, enabling them to better identify and exploit opportunities for tax avoidance in order to maintain cash flow stability. It is expected that this study will contribute theoretically to the development of the literature on taxation and corporate finance. Moreover, the findings are anticipated to serve as a consideration for regulators in formulating more effective tax supervision policies.

The global maritime industry operates within a complex multilingual environment in which English functions as the dominant medium of professional communication. In engine rooms — where technical precision and operational safety are paramount — communication failures among multinational crews have been repeatedly identified as contributing factors in maritime incidents. This study investigates Maritime English proficiency among engine room cadets from South Korea, the Philippines, and Indonesia through an ethnographic multi-case design. Using structured observation, semi-structured interviews, focus group discussions, and cross-group comparison, the study examines how language barriers manifest in technical machinery contexts and how instructional environments shape cadets' communicative competencies. Findings reveal that Filipino cadets demonstrate comparatively higher confidence in spoken Maritime English, attributable to English-medium technical instruction, while South Korean and Indonesian cadets face significant lexical and syntactic challenges, particularly in operating manual interpretation and emergency communication protocols. The study contributes a tri-national comparative framework for Maritime English pedagogy and offers evidence-based recommendations for multicultural cadet training programs aligned with STCW Convention requirements.

This study explores the phenomenon of abuse of authority in the investigation stage of corruption cases, focusing on various violations of practices, causative factors, and implications for justice and legal certainty. The study uses a normative juridical approach through the study of laws and regulations, legal doctrine, and empirical literature to build a comprehensive and systematic analysis. The findings indicate that oversight gaps, weak institutional control, and low integrity of the authorities are the main triggers for actions that go beyond authority, which in turn reduces the effectiveness of evidence and lowers public trust in law enforcement institutions. In addition, the lack of transparency and accountability mechanisms further exacerbates the risk of procedural violations during the investigation process. These conditions can potentially undermine the principles of due process of law and fairness in the criminal justice system. To address this problem, it is necessary to improve internal and external control mechanisms, strengthen supervision by independent institutions, and ensure the consistent implementation of disciplinary measures and legal sanctions against violators. By reinforcing these efforts, it is expected that law enforcement agencies can enhance professionalism, maintain integrity, and restore public confidence in handling corruption cases. Electrolytes are essential minerals that play a critical role in various physiological processes within the body, including the maintenance of fluid balance, proper neuromuscular function, and the transmission of nerve impulses. They are vital for the stability of the heart and other crucial organs. When electrolyte levels become imbalanced, as seen in conditions such as hyponatremia (low sodium), hypernatremia (high sodium), hypokalemia (low potassium), hyperkalemia (high potassium), and hypocalcemia (low calcium), serious health issues can arise. These imbalances can result from factors like malnutrition, excessive losses through the kidneys or gastrointestinal tract, hormonal disorders, and certain systemic diseases. Understanding the underlying pathophysiological mechanisms and clinical manifestations of these disturbances is essential for effective diagnosis and treatment. Healthcare providers must identify the root causes of electrolyte imbalances while assessing their severity to implement appropriate management strategies. This often involves gradually correcting electrolyte levels to mitigate the risk of life-threatening complications such as arrhythmias, cerebral edema, and neurological impairment. By fostering a comprehensive understanding of electrolyte imbalances, healthcare professionals can improve diagnostic accuracy and therapeutic effectiveness, ultimately leading to better patient outcomes. This knowledge is crucial in minimizing morbidity and mortality associated with these disruptive conditions, ensuring that individuals receive prompt and effective care to restore balance and maintain overall health.
